A few more snippets of interest and insight from Mark Darrah, from an older Mark Darrah on Games YouTube video where he was livestreaming playing Dragon Age: Origins some months ago -

"Solving the endings of Mass Effect 3 [for the Next Mass Effect], I don't know, I don't know what you do. I mean, looks like from the trailers to me like maybe they've moved it pretty far into the future, so, that would let you kind've collapse the probability spaces maybe, I don't know, it is a problem for sure".

"I'm curious to see what the Mass Effect TV adaptation ends up looking like because they've taken a crack at it a couple of times". [note this video was streamed ~1 year ago]

He also talked more generally about DA:O and the franchise and things in general. These bits are collected under a cut due to length -

"I don't remember how long the pre-Fade part of the Mage Tower is, all I remember is that Luke filled it up with stuff"

The Deep Roads in DA:O "probably could have been half as long as they are"

There are so many interactables in the Mage Tower in DA:O, "probably a bit much"

"I have one memory expansion mod installed to make it a bit more stable. The reason it crashes and is so unstable on modern computers is because you crank up the fidelity which makes it use more memory, and it's a 33-bit executable and it literally can't use more than 2 gig of memory and then it explodes. So yeah there are a couple different patches that let it use more memory, that definitely improve the stability"

Early in the Broken Circle quest, you can talk to a blood mage that you've just fought while she lies on the floor, and she asks you not to kill her. At this point in the quest, Mark said "Yeah, I feel like this bit, in a modern BioWare game would've been a little bit more circumspect. They wouldn't have been labelled 'Blood Mage' and maybe there would have been a conversation before the fight"

Chat asked "What do you think about canon endings in games like DA or ME?" Mark replied, "I mean you need to have canon endings. My feeling on canon, I don't really like what we did with some of the comics and that for DA where they just assumed things about Alistair. DA:O in particular, well ME3 is the worst, DA:O of the DAs is the most divergent, so if you wanna reuse some of these characters you kind've have to decide what canon is for those. The games have tried to respect peoples' choices. The comics and that have been a lot less good than that because I think the writers wanted to use Alistair, Wynne, Isabela or whatever. So you kinda have to treat those as if they are, y'know, multiverse a little bit if your canon is divergent. I don't love that but DA:O in particular is so divergent that to use the characters at all we had to do something. I kind've feel like maybe we should've just not used the characters but I wasn't the one driving the narrative on the comics"

[in the Mage Tower in Broken Circle] chat asked "So what exactly are those darkspawn flesh sack things on the wall?" Mark replied, "Blight corruption. I guess, demon pods.. unclear. Just something to differentiate it from Mage Origin I think, to be truthful"

DA:O is a little "confused in terms of magical sources and what goes with what. The team started to disentangle some of the magic sources since DA:O. It's a bit confused here, like is all magic from the Fade? Then what about blood magic, what about the Blight, what about lyrium? And so it's been sort've a [effort to reduce these a bit]"

Because the PC can be a healer, solo fights like against Duncan in the Fade in DA:O had to be balanced super-easy

okay so i think a lot of people don't know that in morrowind you can actually make your own scrolls? basically you just use a soul gem like you would to enchant something, but then you enchant a blank piece of paper (you can technically do this with non-blank pieces of paper but why would you). the big issue with this is that a blank piece of paper has a enchantment charge capacity of 5. you can't do SHIT with that. how the hell are the base scrolls you find in the game able to do all this crazy shit but you can't do anything when you do it yourself?

so if i were to make this mod, it would be called "scrollwright." it's not all that complicated i think. but here's what it does, basically:

1.) increase the base charge capacity of regular blank paper to at least 20-25pts. you can actually do SOMETHING with that, albeit not much. i would also recommend, if possible, disabling the ability for non-blank papers/notes to be enchanted, to avoid potentially game/quest breaking accidents.

2.) introduce several new types of blank paper called "vellum"! these are, in order of increasing charge capacity (idk what capacities would be appropriate for each tier though) a.) vellum (netch) b.) vellum (guar) c.) vellum (alit) d.) vellum (kagouti) e.) vellum (scamp) f.) vellum (daedra) g.) ancient/dwemeri papyrus (not sure on name yet)

3.) enchanter vendors will sell some of these with varying stocks, with the daedric (scamp and daedra) vellums being rarer and much more expensive. ancient/dwemeri papyrus cannot be purchased (or crafted as we'll get to in part 4), but must be found in dwemer ruins, usually in sealed containers.

4.) probably only at mages guild enchanters (but i'm willing to loosen this to some other non-guild enchanters as well, particularly in house telvanni), a new service is offered: vellumcrafting. for a relatively small fee (increasing with the power of the vellum in question), you can turn base ingredients you provide into their corresponding vellums. (in the order i gave in part 2, these ingredients would be: netch leather, guar hide, alit hide, kagouti hide, scamp skin, and daedra skin.) again, ancient/dwemeri papyrus cannot be manufactured in this way, only found in ruins. (i believe there is a bug of some kind that makes it so daedra skin does not drop off of the daedra enemies it should (clannfears, daedroths, hungers, ogrims, and ogrim titans) and is only found as rare loot in certain locations. this mod should also either independently fix that bug or else be dependent on the morrowind patch project or openmw, which i believe do fix the bug)

5.) i think a book explaining some of the lore behind these vellums could be fun, too. i'd be willing to write that and any necessary dialogue for the vellumcrafting service if someone were to take an interest in doing the actual modding for me.

i'm envisioning scrollwright as a viable alternative for, say, atronach-birthsign builds, who don't want to cast spells very much due to their stunted magicka debuff. instead of focusing on casting spells, drinking potions, and hoping to absorb magicka from other casters, these atronach builds could focus on enchant as a skill, which while very useful in the late-game is kind of hard to train and utilized early on. giving them the ability to produce scrolls of like, any actual power at all (and eventually maybe even great power depending on how high the charge capacities go) would go a long way to making this playstyle more viable, diverse, and interesting.

god i wish i had morrowind modding skills. have an idea for a mod to make scroll-making more interesting and viable but alas. i do not know how to execute the idea

May 1st Progress Updates, announcements, and more!

Yes, I know it’s May 3rd but pls let me have this lol

Well April has come and gone, and the spring showers are coming in at full force where I live. There’s a lot of stuff I want to get through today, but since my head kinda hurts I hope you guys don’t mind me making a bullet point list to organize my thoughts instead 😅

1) For the asks still in my inbox, I see them all I swear. I promise I’ll get to them as soon as I can!

2) I’m slowly getting through the outline for chapter 3! I really want this to be the one where you really get to interact with the ROs haha, which is why this chapter is sort of going to be a more ‘chill/hang out’ chapter compared to what happens the rest of the story.

3) But also, I’m working on the content patch update for the current ch1 and ch2 where I’ll be adding more scenes/flavortexts/ and choices if possible. I need your help for this too if you can! I’ll most likely drop a Google forms feedback sheet soon so I know what I can do, but feel free to send me suggestions through Tumblr in the meantime!

4) Knowing myself on how much I like to go back to fix things before moving onto the next chapter, my update schedule will probably look like this:

Chapter 1 and 2 patch -> Chapter 3 -> Chapter 2 and 3 patch -> Chapter 4 -> Chapter 3 and 4 patch -> Chapter 5...And so on and so forth.

5) And lastly, I would like to address the Nevermoore discord...

I will admit it, it’s pretty much dead at this point. It’s my fault, really. I haven’t been that active on it as I would have liked. Plus I just rushed into making the server without giving much thought in organizing the channels, having mods present right off the bat, etc.

So what I will do is this: I’m going to delete the current Nevermoore server within 24 hours of this post. However, I will bring it back looking better than ever alongside the release of chapter 3. That way it’s set of be at least more active than when I first created the server 😅. I hope you guys understand!

msq - generally good. the new dungeon is neat. love the armour set. tataru’s glam set was a surprise, but a pleasant one. tickled me just how many people i saw running around in it (dyed or otherwise). it’s a nice set; simple, but nicely detailed. my only gripe is there are no pants for some reason?? tataru pls

pleasantly surprised that we’re touching on Void stuff again so soon. disappointed that the void quests from shb had zero mention but them’s the breaks.

i adore the contrast between the cowards of sharlayan and the alchemists of thavnair. sorry but if your response to ‘we built an artificial voidsent’ is not ‘holy shit that’s awesome’ what kind of scholar even are you. (little disappointed that allag’s artificial voidsent saw no mention but i guess those only really show up in like. fates and not story content)

...i should go talk to cylva and unuk (and beq for that matter) again to see if they have any new dialogue. (they won’t, but hope springs eternal)

i like a lot the implications of That Voidsent turning up free from Contract. curious if he or golbez are going to attempt a heel face turn. little sad that the Cloud is seemingly confirmed dead, but until we see a body etc

awful plot twist could be that vrtra’s sibling is the Cloud. or That Avatar. don’t know how probable it is squex would go that route but. dragons are by their nature unsundered, which would give her a huge advantage over other voidsent...

alliance raids - The Monkey Is Up To Something. i initially mistrusted deryk too but it seems to be just good old fashioned social anxiety? idk!

the art style for the ‘twelve’ makes me think a lot of the Four Lords, which makes me wonder if they are ancient auspices or something of that sort.

raid itself is a lot of fun. far more colourful in design and variety than the nier trainwrecks, music slaps, wiping on nald’thal twice because half the alliance (me included) didnt realise you could see the scales was more funny than it has any right to be. armour is gorgeous. i was on rpr and scored the chestpiece, idc about stats it’s just pretty

endsinger - lovely weapons. music is eh but i got tired of that just being pulled into msq endsingers. fight itself is gloriously mech heavy. had a bash at it last night and we got her to 50%ish. i confused the fuck out of both the static healers and my usual melee buddy by tanking (our usual OT was otherwise engaged). healing your own living dead is fucking glorious.

pve balance - mch’s ‘balance’ is insulting, ,nobody was surprised. smn and rpr players doomposting are the bane of my existence. sam got dumped on big time, we all knew it was coming, yoshi p knew they would hate it, and yet. as a drk enjoyer i feel for them i really do, their dps just got fucked. drk came out extremely well and i’m just going to enjoy it while it lasts.

pvp balance i’ve only had a chance to play the new mch in pvp but. bruh. if pve mch fucked half this hard i would never play anything else. deleting players across the map is grand. everything feels satisfying to use, and there’s a better risk/reward for pressing your buttons versus just spamming heat blast. drk looks like a blast but i only had time after raids for a couple of matches before i crashed. ngl am tempted to mod the appearance of the drk pvp lb onto pve shadowbringer

pvp mode seems fun?? only played a couple matches, was weird to get feast achievements lel. took me a while to work out the whole team needs to be present to ‘lock’ a crystal’s progress but it makes sense. matches are fast at least. gonna try ranked later and see how it goes.

kinda eh about the majority of ‘new’ pvp rewards - upscaled hw af armour, and old feast weapons. yay. there are some new weapons (for some classes only, ones added since hw i think??) available for the season rank currency which look nice. gnb is sick. rdm is just. weird.

Notes: Pls be nice, this is one of my first multi-chapter fics. (6 parts, 5 chapters and an epilogue)

No romantic relationships. OSMP!Jack Manifold & OSMP!Smajor-centric.

Jack was alive.

Breathing labored, bandaged, skin splotched with inky patches, tossing and turning, brows furrowed, but alive.

Jack had survived the worst wither skeleton attack that Scott had ever seen. Though being a blazeborn protected him from poison and zombification, it would never protect him from withering. Scott had known since one of his first days there. So when he saw Jack get scratched across the chest, his stomach dropped in dread. A hit that close to the heart meant the withering would be almost certainly fatal.

But he was alive, somehow. However, Jack was running even hotter than he usually did. He mumbled in his sleep infernal words that couldn’t be deciphered. His body contorted and sprawled across his bed, as his head jerked back and forth, back and forth. He was viciously ill, with pain evident on his face. While recovery was only a hope, no one held onto that hope stronger than Smajor.

He labored at his bedside, through fevers that gave second degree burns to Phil Tommy Tubbo and Ranboo, and even worse to Scott. Starbornes burned easily. Phil tried to insist that he should be the one to care for Jack, but Scott refused. It wasn’t like Jack intended to hurt anyone. When literal fire rages in you as you lie sick, no one finds it in their hearts to be angry, not even the person who you end up burning the worst.

Phil was the one to make wound wash and medicine from anything he could. If Scott was Jack’s nurse, Phil was his pharmacist. And Niki, who was constantly looking for reports on Jack’s state and pushed for his care, took the role of doctor. She took on shadowing the “nurse” on occasion, attempting to ease Jack’s pain like Phil and Scott. There weren’t even any jokes to be made, it was simply an understanding they had. Phil even made aloe vera balm for the burns covering Scott’s arms, knowing he couldn’t stop him from trying to help Jack every chance he got. It was a fair assessment.

Others like Tommy, Tubbo, and Ranboo had to be steered away from their makeshift infirmary so they wouldn’t get too anxious. When Niki couldn’t stay, she brought food in with Wilbur. Sneeg and Charlie would often sneak in and watch from the rafters before being shooed out. Fundy and Techno couldn’t even get a word in edgewise about visiting Jack, as Wilbur and Phil tore them away.

Despite all of this clamoring to make things better, and the panic felt by everyone in the pub as the days wore on, it was eerily silent.

Without Jack’s quips or anything that Phil felt he could joke about, the air felt stagnant, stale. Hushed, frantic words and the occasional small sounds of suffering filled the air. If anyone wanted to speak, that was just it. Small sounds. That’s what it was and all it would ever be.

Well, that’s what it felt like. An eternal struggle for the care of a friend, with the days blending together as everyone dances around the question of his survival as Scott and Phil sat by him.

Until the strangest thing happened.

Jack woke up.

To keep the bulletpoint list hopefully short: Patch/QoL mods that fix vanilla issues (i.e. USSEP, D13, SMIM, the like), follower mods (save for Miraak since S:EC seems to have something planned for him), mods done to tweak the Werewolf experience, combat & boss difficulty mods, Mods that overhaul NPCs dialogue/AI (guards, citizens in general), weather mods, music mods, & mods that make Argonians & Khajiit look a bit more fun are for sure staying! Any civil war mods I have might be trimmed off, debating on how S:EC approaches reworking the secondary story quest. That being said:

BarenziahQM - For the sole fact it makes that quest soo much better

Paarthunax Dilemma - a solid maybe? S:EC is also gonna do something bout this part of the Blades quest if I read their reddit post correctly, so I might just leave it disabled & see what happens first

Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions - yes pls let me make Tei a papa to every Skyrim also I need it to make Kaidan’s home available for the kiddos

Derkeethus - makes him a more decent follower but eeeh idk i rarely take him out often so it might be snipped itsa maybe

Destructible Display Cases- sometimes i’m too lazy to lockpick

No more Stupid Dog/Immersive Good Boy- Meeko is a good boy I should be able to tell him & also my kids + housecarls shouldn’t call him stupid >:(

More Argonians- I just like these funky reptiles (used to have More Khajiits too but it always would CTD at a certain inn w it installed. F)

Alternate Start- Makes things more spicy

CH- Sorta QoL for the skyrim horses, for sure staying

FTA&C- Again, makes things more spicy, but in the event of some group jumping you while traveling

Vigilant- Maybe?? It’s fun as hell but not really in character for Jeer-Tei. Perhaps re-enabled later as an end game thing alongside BS: Atmora whenever that comes out?

Shout- makes cooldowns more bearable so itsa keep

DSF- also a QoL mod

Immersive Movement + More Tavern Idles + Better Jumping + Immersive Encounters

AFT- big traveling groups are always fun/it makes it easier to horde keep all of Skyrim’s dogs

Race Menu + Racial BM SE- falls under “makes Argonians more fun” like some other argonian focused mods I guess? RBM plays around w everyones height and RM just lets you go buck wild (in a sfw way! unless...yknow you got nsf/w mods i guess) doesn’t hurt to specify tho lol

Alternate Convo Camera- Really fun!! Despite it pointing out how short my LDB is

Deadly Dragons- Makes fighting the Dovah much more fun w all the (honestly not as canon) diversity in looks & abilities! Can recommend, not too harsh on older devices either from what I know

Death is Highly Overrated

Play as a Dragon + Monster Race Fix- another hard maybe because well...you turn into a dragon which isn’t too immersive I guess?? Probably another “end game” mod for Tei

MODS IM EYEING/WANT TO GET (this post is so long so far I’m sorry)

Survival Mods!! (iNeed is one I’m looking at & maaaybe Frostfall?? idk i’ll have to see about that one i heard its not too fun for the Argonian gang) P much looking for something that’ll make exploring the wilds of Skyrim less of a bore

Camping + Hunting based mods! I’ve been eyeing Campfire & Hunterborn specifically, but open to any other suggestions. Same reasoning as survival mods, makes it more fun to travel! Plus, I’m going for an in character experience, it would fit Tei!

Khash & Auri follower mods. I’ve been eyeing these two for a bit, but from my experience w adding Kaidan & Lucien late game, I miss a lot of fun stuff D: So I’m planning on nabbing them for a fresh playthrough under S:EC (or at least, Khash! I uh...don’t know how to download mods manually/always mess it up & Auri doesn’t have the option to let Vortex do all the work unfortunately, but we’ll see!)

Maybe some nice armor mods?? Again nothing too heavy to handle but just to add some flavor(tm)

Saw a mod that made Animal AI a bit more realistic, might nab that

long shot but a mod that lets everyone refer to your LDB via they/them pronouns would be cool too but idk feel like it’d be a nightmare to attempt modder wise. Honestly i’d love the idea of having a mod or two that’ll let me confirm that Tei is trans themselves in game (3DNPC has a quest where you can say your character is, but that’s about it to my knowledge)! Buuut I’m unsure to search for any cause: 1) I don’t want to deal w transphobes ruining my searches & my day on Nexus & 2) Any curious google/bing searches keep bringing up Lovers lab & mmmm no thank you.

and uh...so far that’s the base of it? idk im still looking around & I might have to add/drop some things depending on like...how much my current computer can handle, Not grabbing any fancy graphics mods, that’s for sure lol

Please gearbox I am begging you just change the techspert mod's unique skill... it is so useless with Zane's current skill set at higher levels- and higher levels are when players are mostly going to be using legendary gear

The disparity between class mod usefulness via the unique skills in this game is soooo bad. In bl2 for example I could equip a legendary mod and get +5 in the listed skills the VH already has that I know work and want significantly buffed, because the tier 1 skills on each character were still pretty useful. This game you only get +5 across all listed skills which is fine cuz then u get the unique effect, the obvious draw this time around, but some of them are baaaaad

Tl;dr: I cry but also suggest class mod reworks? That are probably op with the current anointment system but shhh we'll fix that later too. I promise (ʘ‿ʘ✿)

I know it isn't just Zane who needs class mod buffs or reworks (I've seen some pretty bad Amara ones too, I'm sure Fl4k and Moze have some rough mods as well but I have less experience), but as a Zane main with the newest patch, hsgahakwygdiwjdks

Every sntnl build atm already has the drone out constantly without that mod, there's no reason to use it as the skill buffs in this game are not significant enough to warrant it, and the unique skill is useless. The difference between techspert or cold warrior and a mod like Seein Dead or even the executor mod is really sad. Only way the first 2 are viable is if ur playing at early levels and get a lucky or vending machine drop. But u can go to handsome jackpot and get an infinitely better mod there if you've got the dlc cuz the drop rate is incredibly high. I don't get it, those types of mods are basically just filler for the loot pool? Which really shouldn't happen with legendary gear when you have a ton of randomly generated guns for that purpose which is one of the highlights of ur marketing for the game.

If they wanted the mod to be useful for lower level characters who didn't spec into duration skills and don't grind until max level, fine, I guess? But the mod can still be useful for lower level characters AND higher level characters. Maybe change the skill to all of Zane's action skill durations/cooldowns get reset on kill? That'd be an incredible buff and keep the spirit of the mod intact. Hell it'd even buff the barrier since it buffs that trees skills ANYWAY. Srsly tho why it have a zoomer buff if it is a barrier tree mod. I don't get it. It's forcing a very specific playstyle cuz the +3-5 skill buffs are only really useful when u already have 4-5 in a skill outside of, like, brain freeze. If it gave a +5 in every skill like bl2 then I could see using it with zoomer without having to go down under cover but it doesn't soooo u have to get very lucky with the 1 skill u want to use?

Also. Cold Warrior is such a bad mod. I used it a bit after release at level 50 Zane bc I was trying for a cryo Zane and it was okay, but now at 65 with Mayhem 11, it is so bad. Why the random Dots. Zane isn't even supposed to be the elemental character beyond cryo unless I'm missing something Very Important. He had the shock damage when not targeted skill, but then they changed that to cryo (I'm actually a bit salty abt that, shock is great for shields as cryo is not as effective). Regardless he's not the DoT character and giving him a mod that applies random DoTs to frozen enemies is so out of left field. It really feels like a copy of Amara's mods but worse cuz Zane can't buff DoT damage (not that those types of Amara mods aren't Bad themselves, per se, but at least they fit her playstyle and skill set) beyond getting gear that buffs it, but that's trading off potential weapon or AS damage for elemental damage and... No thanks. Not when it's a Random element and not when Zane isn't even supposed to be the DoT character.

Cold Warrior would be a cool (ha) mod if it did other stuff to frozen enemies tho. For example, this is all off the top of my head, not even my job to think about stuff like this:

Allow him to insta freeze enemies using a melee attack with a short cooldown and give him double melee damage to frozen enemies. Give him +25-50% bonus cryo damage/efficiency to all damage dealt with the mod equipped ('oh but 25% damage is outshined by anointments' FUCK YA ANOINTMENTS THEY RUIN BALANCING). Release a free frozen heart nova when Zane is damaged to 50% or lower health that restores health and shields for 25% damage dealt by the nova with a 5-10s cooldown. If you want to keep in spirit with the mod's red text, which honestly I'm starting to think was the main driving factor in the creation of this mod and NOT making Zane a fully realized VH, all cryo damage dealt by Zane has a 15% chance to deal double damage in another random element, with a short cooldown (10s?). Like the hydrafrost gun (I believe that is the one). If ya think that's broken cuz of the current anointments in the game, come join us on the dark side where we advocate for anointment nerfs and character buffs for better balancing of the main game without dlcs.

Anywho, giving that mod Fuckin' Anything creative to buff his skill set instead of tacking on random stuff that has nothing to do with his preexisting skills. That'd be great and it could allow for more builds.

Similarly with the techspert mod, again these are off the top of my head and I literally cannot do testing as I'm not a dev:

Kill Skill: Kills have a 25% chance to refund all AS cooldown and reset all AS duration (least unique but it'd at least stay near to what they wanted the mod to be and would be far more useful during end game as it acts like an actual kill skill- the hexagon can even be Zane's class mod as a tiny icon, it'd be a real cute). As this mod buffs skills in the barrier tree, I'm gonna assume players are using the barrier action skill with this mod: the barrier gains 15% amp damage and amp damage is converted to bonus shock damage. When deployed, the barrier releases a shock nova that drains the shields of enemies near Zane and replenishes his shield by 25% max capacity. The barrier gives Zane 20% bonus reload speed and fire rate (held or not, does not matter). 1x per AS duration, Zane can hold down the barrier deploy key to end his barrier skill and release a cryo nova around it that instantly freezes enemies nearby (so you can throw down ur barrier and use it like a remote bomb for Calm Cool and Collected).

Iunno, some of these prob wouldn't work in practice, but literally anything other than "hey this class mod is Calm Cool and Collected but somehow worse even without the requirements" is good enough for me.

ari was born a long time ago in the ukraine— he was an abandoned baby and so he grew up in an orphanage and then a boys home ((this is the tragic part of his bio unfortch, if u want more gritty details pls see the full text))

he was adopted by the lawrence family at age 11. the lawrences are a sweet older couple from seattle, very picket fence vibes but its GOOD its PURe its SWeET ( we stan the lawrences). all of their children are via adoption, and they have such big hearts

ari came to america with one backpack but also? a shit ton of baggage. he had a lot of issues as he a) struggled with the language b) was behind at school and c) had a lot of problems controlling his anger

A and B he worked on, but C he never quite got a handle on. the lawrence’s tried their best (he’s probably the only person at captive harbour who is actively in therapy so jot that down) but its a work in progress

ari taught himself how to repair engines and work on cars and turns out he’s actually quite good at it!! he moved away from seattle after his own shop couldn't compete with the big businesses and moved to crescent to start something up

he specializes in modding cars, but he can definitely do a little of everything

he lives downtown in a little apartment that’s probably very austere and monk like with a bunch of free weights around

he lives for racing his car. his modded car is his baby, and parts for that thing alone are probably the reason he lives off cheese sticks instead of caviar— catch him egging on ur char for a race on any straight stretch of road

heres the spicy part: ari is not ur friend. he’s not his own friend. ari has spent 26 years of his life actively hating himself, so it’s made him super difficult to deal with. he puts on his best behaviour but really?? it does not take much to set him off

sims 4 2020 wishlist!

with 2020 here, I have a few aspects of the sims 4 that I would love to see happen in the near future!

“my first pet stuff” was a missed opportunity for a much greater variety of small animals. I would like to have seen rabbits, ferrets, birds, and other small animals. I just want my lovebirbs ;-; (pls add in a free patch... also I know there are mods for this but nothing’s better than the real thing, right?)

robbers!! need I say more??

diversity is a MUST! more skin tones, better undertones that don’t look so... chalky ... better makeup for POC, traditional clothing, and overall just please add more diversity and better makeup...

better BABIES, cribs, strollers, an entire overhaul of new nursery items or possibly maternity wear?? it doesn’t matter just more interactions and pls no more object bby

zodiac signs, compatibility between certain sims based on zodiac signs! (ex: a scorpio and cancer will have a better chance for successful romantic interactions) or interactions such as **gush about having the same sign** with sims who share the sign! pleaaaase I just want them to implement better characteristics for making unique sims!

MORE INTERACTIONS GRR!! I’m tired of **discuss interests, discuss weather, get to know, brighten day** after a while it gets a bit repetitive and I just want to keep the variety coming... I would love more romantic interactions because most of the time I spam them between my sims.

just more of a unique factor for sims? definitely more personality traits and MORE THAN THREE SLOTS for them, along with a panel for interests, dislikes, memories, etc. more hair options, more clothing options. COLOR WHEEL. heterochromia, vitiligo, stuff that we already have in mods could definitely be implemented in game.

cars, trucks, and motorcycles

for packs... hopefully a farming pack with cute lil farm animals (cows, goats, piggies, chickens). a wedding pack would be lovely, like more flowers and bouquets and chairs, wedding dresses, VEILS, hairstyles, diamond rings.

and as for base game? yes, diversity, hairs, clothing is a must! I would like promise rings, wedding rings to be a gift options for sims. smaller animals, and for the love of... please add the vegan trait!!

Today I will summarize math mistakes in TFT, hopefully in a way anyone can understand

A quick overview with minimal understandability, sorry:

-Deathcap was never better with more ability power

-Valkyrie Mirages were better with Jeweled Gauntlet than non-Valkyrie Mirages

-Kai’sa was better with Blue Buff than with Rageblade for almost all situations for almost all of set 8

-There was also one time I got referenced in some patch notes for a highly controversial one but I ain’t touching that ever again, pls no dox

Ok, now for the short (for me, lol) summary of the first example, to give you an idea of the type of counterintuitive nonsense I seem to regularly demonstrate:

Mortdog, lead designer, said Deathcap needs more Ability Power (AP) to be better, so they changed it to not need more AP. However, the first half of this statement was false!

Basically, the way AP works is you add the amount to 100%, and that’s how much more effect your abilities have. Deathcap would give +40 AP, and multiply all AP by 1.5, for initially 60 total. That’s x1.6 damage overall; the same as our hypothetical x1.55 damage item.

However, if you add more AP, let’s say 100 AP, we can check how much Deathcap increases your damage. You used to have a x2 damage multiplier from 100 AP. Now, you add +40, for 140, then multiply by 1.5, for 210 overall. That’s x3.1 damage overall.

If you had taken the x1.6 damage item, you’d have x3.2 damage overall instead. By gaining more AP, you’ve made Deathcap go from the same power as x1.6 damage, to worse. More AP made Deathcap worse.

This was highly counterintuitive for people because the item said “multiplies your AP!” and everyone was like “oh, so good with more AP!”, and also it was functionally true because AP increased things like shielding and healing so things that were good with AP tended to value more AP over more damage.

But people were putting Deathcap on pure damage carries! And claiming it wasn’t as good because they didn’t have more AP! That’s just untrue!

Anyway, I got my post saying this removed by subreddit mods for being misinformation until I did the above example for them twice.

That’s a general vibe between me and TFT, I think. I come up with stuff that’s mathematically true and everyone freaks out :( sad because I love the game for being one of few where you can still come up with new math facts

Problem: The game fails to launch, displaying error 0xc0000022.

Alternatively, rename or remove the DDRAW.DLL file in your CrazyHook folder, and try using DirectX Windower instead. While some parts are not fully translated from Japanese, the set-up is rather straightforward: see instructions by Zax37, and optionally, configuration.

Note that if you prefer to play in full screen, it can be optionally forced using this tool while still running Claw through DirectX Windower and retaining its benefits.

Cutscenes in the CrazyHook version

Problem: The CrazyHook version is missing all the animated cutscenes.

Solution: If you already have the Claw CD/DVD, or an ISO image, simply copy the CLAW.FEC file (located in MOVIES) directly to your CrazyHook folder.

Unable to jump properly

Problem: Claw jumps far too low, barely gets off the ground, and his movement is unnaturally fast.

Solution #1: Enable vertical synchronization (a.k.a. v-sync) in your video card's control panel. The number of frames per second will now be limited by your monitor's refresh rate, which should be 60 hertz in case of most LCD displays.

Also, open the Claw Advanced Options applet (located in the /MISC folder on the Claw CD/DVD) and make sure the 'Enable DirectDraw emulation' option is left unchecked. Gloom twitch.

TriggerElevator slowdown

Problem: Elevators using the TriggerElevator logic, such as the one just after the second save point in La Roca, move ridiculously slow.

Unable to launch the DVD version

Problem: While launching the DVD version, the screen turns black. The intro movie can still be heard playing in the background, but then the game crashes.

Solution: Unfortunately, the high quality cutscenes from the DVD version cause the game to crash under newer Windows versions. To disable them, double-click the *.reg file found in the /EXTRAS/Windows XP Registry Fix directory on the disc. Note that they can still be played separately, i.e. using WinDVD or similar DVD playback software. As for in-game playback, the downsampled cutscenes from the CD version will be used instead.

Loss of saved games

Problem: After reaching a save point, the 'Your game has been saved' notification is displayed. Hovever, the next time Claw is launched, all the progress is lost.

Solution #1: Launch the game using an administrator account, so that it can access and modify the CLAW.USR file, where the saved games are stored. Note that under Windows Vista and later versions you still have to use the 'Run as administrator' command found in the right-click context menu, even if your account actually has administrative rights.

Solution #2: Install the game in a folder that is fully accessible from non-administrator accounts, such as 'My Documents'.

Solution #3: Provided that you are an advanced user, and are absolutly sure what you are doing, you can manually set access rights to the Claw installation directory, so that its contents can be changed without administrative rights.

Black multiplayer setup screens

Problem: All the multiplayer setup windows are black, with unreadable text. Nonetheless, the game still appears to be working properly.

Solution #1: Download the rip version, which appears to be unaffected by this problem, at least under Windows XP. Since it can be installed alongside the full CD/DVD version, you can use it solely for the purpose of playing online.

Solution #2: As a last resort, you can use our screenshot gallery to memorise the placement of settings and buttons.

Problem: Similarly to the multiplayer setup windows (see above), text in the Load Custom Level and Edit Players windows is unreadable.

Rip version time limit

Problem: The rip version is not fully functional, and instead appears to be a 60-minute time limited demo.

No in-game music

Problem: Despite all the audio settings being turned on, no in-game music can be heard. It appears that only Claw is affected by the problem.

Solution: MIDI playback might be muted. Choose Start -> Run -> sndvol32 and look for 'MIDI Synth', 'SW Synth' or a similar volume control. Make sure it is not muted and turn it up if necessary.

Unable to take screenshots

Problem: The PrintScreen key does not work as expected. Screenshots are almost entirely black, with a few brighter pixels scattered here and there.

Solution: To take a screenshot, press Ctrl+D while playing. A bitmap file will automatically be saved in your Claw installation directory.

Playing without the CD/DVD

Problem: I would like to be able to play the game without having to insert the Claw CD/DVD every time.

Solution #1: Download the rip version from our site.

Solution #2: Create or download a disc image file and mount it in a CD/DVD emulator, such as Daemon Tools.

Solution #3: Download a crack. Note that in order to retain access to in-game cutscenes, you have to copy the contents of the /MOVIES and /MUSIC folders from the disc to your Claw installation directory. It is important that you only copy the files inside rather than entire folders, otherwise it will probably not work.

Available patches and language versions

Problem: What are the differences between various versions of Claw and which of them require updates?

Solution: The 1.0 and 1.1 versions are exactly the same as far as the actual game is concerned. The latter however is a DVD version with additional, high-quality MPEG-2 movies. The 1.2 update fixed a few minor bugs, made boss fights noticeably easier and added a few cheat codes. The latest version is 1.3, which adds TCP/IP support and thus is required to play online. Technically, it is still in beta phase and will remain so as Monolith never officially released the update.

The following are pretty much all available versions of Claw. If you bought the special edition released a few years ago in Poland, or downloaded the rip version from our site, you can start playing right away.
