I saw a ghost today / Grant me asylum in a white padded room / I will scream “Sanctuary!”, and pray that God grants me peace. / To create is the most difficult thing now, I leech off of others and Art is no longer my own / With no makings and no money, I find different positions to pass the time, rotting away like fruit, I pass my time in a woven basket being passed around for seconds and no one wants / They have had enough, I am tasteless and tired, they have had their fill, I am to be thrown away. / It might not even have been you, it might have been another boy with your smell and your walk and your hat... / But nonetheless; it was a ghost! / I will tell no one of it, because no one believes that ghosts are real. / Hell, I don’t believe they are real and I was shaken to my core when I saw you / But, GodDamnIt / I am tired of being afraid in the dark / I want to open my eyes and see nothing and be content, I no longer wish for you and there you are still / GodDamnIt, that is /ENOUGH / it is over. you are gone. i need you to leave. / Because the dark harbors over me in a deeper fashion now and I can’t execute demons and save the kingdom if you are looming over my shoulder, waiting to shout out “Boo!” / You are not a ghost.
