🎭🌞🎉🧭🪄 For the Pagan/polytheist ask game
Hello! Thank you for sending in an ask! I hope you are doing well c:
🎭 - What is an emotionally impactful or a silly worship-related experience you've had?
I want to talk about one from the past with Papa Fate since it was emotional for me. I was having a really tough time between different obligations and what I was doing. It caused me a really great deal of stress and just hearing him come in with his boots (he wears cowboy boots, I don't know why, that's a him style choice), was already a comfort. I just cried my eyes out as he listened and offered me some options, things I could focus on. It was really nice.
🌞 - Which deity(ies) are you closest to/do you worship the most often?
I am closest to my personal Dragon Deity named "The First"! I've been working with them for the past 5 years so it's been quite enriching for me. Otherwise I am closest to Strider (which doesn't really count for this ask set but whatever)!
🎉 - Do you celebrate any festivals? If so, which ones?
Yes! I actually follow a calendar of holidays and things from my Otherside stuff! It is not Earthen so I have to calculate when things are myself, but I have the time frame between holidays and when each major and minor take place! My favorite one that I can celebrate here is about mourning and death, because I've had a lot of that happen last year. That is coming up in March (the time equivalent) for me, so I'm going to use it a time to reflect on my loved ones that are no longer with me. Otherwise, there is a minor holiday dedicated to different Trades and appreciating them, and I take time to learn about that on those days! It makes me appreciate that work here all the more because it is time consuming!
🧭 - What led you to your practice?
To my current practice, hmm. So most of how I get involved in things is by some thing I've done or discovered then it picks up speed like a Katamari ball. In a way, I introduced myself to my current practice and evolved from where it had been. I'm really satisfied with my practice because it finally feels right and where I belong. Even if it is based on things that come from the Otherside, it is what I had been quietly looking for (and not always actively searching for). In short, I did, I ended up where I am because events led to it.
🪄 - Do you practice witchcraft? If yes, do you keep it separate from your deity worship?
Hmmm! Well, sorta? Sometimes, I do it from time to time but it isn't a main staple of my practice. For what I do, it's not necessarily separate since magic is magic to me. It's there just as the deity I work with is. It's all just different tools to use. My practice and deity work stuff does require a degree of magic, so they're just intertwined. I know that's not something everyone does but it is how mine works!

AREUM’S ROUTE / BAD ENDS / GOOD ENDS / AFTER ENDING STUFF. this is a super long post, please don’t feel like you gotta read it, i just wanted to write it.
HOW TO EARN AREUM HEARTS:
Tumblr media
Complimenting Mei-Shin or just asking about her daughter’s wellbeing in general with usually get you to earn a heart along with telling areum you’ve eaten, show interest in her baking & show concern for the other members once everything starts to go downhill.
HOW TO GET AREUM’S HEART BREAKS:
if mc thinks of only herself openly in chatlogs, is rude towards any of the members, speaking negatively about areum’s comfort in alcohol, makes any rude/hurtful comment towards rika. ( areum had high respect towards rika! )
Tumblr media
COMMON ROUTE.
areum is actually pretty skeptical of MC, she’s closed off and very quiet, only making small inputs of her opinion in the prologue. she’s distant to mc and doesn’t tend to stay long in chatrooms after the prologue. areum had high respect towards rika and what she did to get guests to the party so of course areum is going to be standoffish and distant when a stranger comes in. in the prologue, areum openly argues with v’s decision to let MC stay and do rika’s work. of course, not meaning to give any disrespect towards MC, but areum is a single mother to a one-year-old, she can’t help but be a nervous wreck when some stranger comes into the messenger, a place where she feels safest. she’s not happy and only sends a “Fine.” before leaving the chatroom at the end of it.
DAYS 5 & 6
after all the chatrooms and calls, you got areum’s route she most likely part of the DEEPER STORY part of mystic messenger! she’s slowly opening up more to you as the chatrooms go by and get to know you. she even apologizes for how cruel she must have been in the beginning, of course super embarrassed and timid in reaching out to MC. her hearts are a lot easier to earn, and almost like zen hands out hourglasses, areum hands out hearts depending on if you do what’s said above. she really is the sugar momma for hearts.
throughout these two days, areum is a lot friendlier after apologizing for her behavior when she first met MC, she even suggests for them to bake together after the party! asking MC what her favorite sweets are & makes promises to bake them for her! if MC calls areum, sometimes she’ll let MC talk with Mei-Shin over the phone! she really growing wowie. she even mentions how she’ll casually drink from time to time which is actually hinting towards her severe addiction to it.
DAY 7.
when the bodyguards are sent out / the bomb is revealed, areum is super active in the messenger, continuously asking if MC is okay, desperately wanting to help her out in some way but obviously, she can’t actually do anything. areum openly expresses her concerns and unease towards her own bodyguards, making comments on how she feels like a bigger target with a group of people in suits following her, escorting her to places. she even starts to speak about her parents and how they disowned her for getting pregnant before marriage, etc to mc (and basically the rfa bc the messenger.) and revealing her damaged relationship with them and her younger brother. and even though she’s angry with her parents, she desperately wants to fix things... but just doesn’t know how and is too stubborn to let go of the fact they shunned her and their only grandchild...
DAYS 8 & 9.
IN THE CHATROOM AT 3:40 AM areum, drunkenly, reveals the past about her abusive ex-boyfriend to MC and basically the whole RFA when in a chatroom with MC. speaking of the verbal/psychological, and sometimes physical abuse that happened, how she felt so useless then & when rika’s suicide happened, and now, with MC in danger, she feels like she’s back in that mindset. she can’t help but worry constantly about MC, drunkenly expressing how her heart can’t take the worry, that it aches too much to the point she can’t focus. Areum reveals that alcohol has helped her feel better in the means of forgetting the ‘ache’ in her chest every time she thinks of her ex-boyfriend, rika’s suicide, MC’s safety... Areum brings up that her baby daddy ran into her today, which was also the second reason why she decided to drink so heavily.
As the days continue, it’s clear Areum is sinking into a deeper depression and deeper into her addiction as she shows more typos, becomes more sentimental, or if she calls MC her words are slow & slurred. News gets out that Myung is filing for custody over mei-shin and Areum can’t stop the panic attacks she gets in the story branch that’s unlocked. It’s revealed how unstable areum's mental state is, holding her daughter and crying uncontrollably, slurring apologies for everything to ghostly ears.
BAD END # 1 BRANCH DAY 8.
if MC were to take Areum’s brother’s side with taking mei-shin and make playful comments instead of being serious and constructive in ways to support the woman and offer help, Areum suddenly goes radio silent, rarely logging into the messenger. The last time she does log in is at night when no one else is logged in, being completely wasted, she sends a picture of the stars from her rooftop, making comments on how they sparkle and how beautiful they are before she logs out of the chatroom. When Areum gets up to go inside, she loses her balance and ultimately slips, falling off the 10 story building, too drunk to catch herself and ultimately ending in her death.
BAD END # 2 BRANCH DAY 9 - 10.
Myung wins full custody of mei-shin and that’s the snapping point for areum. she’s in a dark place mentally and can’t find a way out, her depression becomes more apparent and obvious down this branch as she makes comments in chatrooms on how empty everything seems, she doesn’t post pictures of home-made sweets like she used to, you’ll see her name in the chatroom but she won’t speak unless spoken to, and even then her answers are short and cryptic. eventually, she doesn’t login anymore, doesn’t go to work, doesn’t eat. she’s empty, SHE’S LOST. on day 10, a mint eye believer comes knocking, areum on auto-pilot opens the door, she’s then told of paradise and how it’s she is so close to being welcomed into it, of course advertising their organization and with areum in her robotic / auto-pilot state, she starts to believe them. in depressive thoughts believing that possibly her daughter would be waiting in paradise for her.
after hours of not logging on, areum finally does, just to send ‘Please do not worry. I’m going to be fine now, everything will be fine now.’ before logging out with no further explanation, either destroying or leaving her phone in her apartment, areum disappears, allegedly joining mint eye. Her brother puts up Missing Person posters for Areum at local convent stores, park billboards, etc. But she has just vanished.
Tumblr media
DAYS 10 - 11. GOOD ENDING.
If MC stays supportive but also realistic with areum in her battle with her addiction, she’ll start to see reason, and see that if she doesn’t clean up her act, her daughter will be taken away from her. she finally agrees to seek out help from local AA meetings, tossing out a bottle one day every other week, of course, baby steps. she will fall and struggle sometimes but with this new determination thanks to MC’s support and somewhat wake up call, she refuses to stay down. when it’s the day of the party, areum doesn’t log into the morning chatroom. but at the party, areum has mei-shin in her arms, standing at the mic, thanking all the guests for attending, speaking of the rfa and their purpose before she switches the topic to her own battle and how she wouldn’t be standing there to greet them all if it wasn’t for one special woman, lololol it’s mc surprise. areum makes a speech of how mc has changed her life for the better and how she wants to continue to work on herself for not only her daughter, but for MC and the rfa members, and ofc u know this girl is gonna look at MC and do a cheesy thing like “if you’re by my side, i know i can defeat my demons... i love you, mc... thank you for being the light at the end of the tunnel for me...” BEFORE COMIN DOWN WITH HER DAUGHTER AND SMOOCHINTF OUTTA MC SDKKJSDKJFD
AFTER ENDING.
o ha ha. EVERYTHING’S GREAT BRUH. areum is 4 years sober now, she has her own bakery but also teaches young children how to play the violin, and u know areum is big gay for mc. even putting MC’s name on the bakery’s name along with hers, and mei-shin is happy with her two moms don't even @ me bro. areum’s hair is longer, usually tied back, and she’s so happy, you can see the fucking SUNSHINE RADIATING OFF OF HER BRO. she bakes mc cute cupcakes almost every weekend and is a lot more open with her past to all her friends now. she even fixed her broken relationship with her parents and younger brother, having them involved in her life & mei-shin’s. there’s family photos hanging up in the bakery and everyONE IS JUST SO HAPPYYYY.

Kierarktina Kids Headcanons pt 4
Before we get into this, as usual, here are the links to part: 1, 2, and 3
In this set of HCs, we finally get to meet the second kierarktina kiddo! Before that, we get to see some more wholesomeness that is the family just being iconic, and also another guest appearance by the Wild Hunt! I hope I do this wonderful family justice! Now, without further ado, here is the long awaited part 4 of my kierarktina kids HCs!
·         When we last saw the family, Mark, Tina, and Lia were visiting the gang of the LA Institute, Cristina had revealed to Emma that she was expecting
·         By the time that Mark and Cristina and Lia decide that they ought to head to Faerie, Emma is the last to say her goodbye for now and congratulates Mark, and asks him to pass on her congrats to Kieran too
·         Kieran doesn’t know yet, and they’re excited to tell him when they get back
·         So, the three hold tight to each other as Cristina pulls out the Eternidad, taking them to the forest outside of the cottage
·         Because of wards, they can’t transport directly inside the cottage, even with the power of the Eternidad
·         So once they arrive, they notice the sun is setting
·         They unlock the door and are met with what looks to be an empty cottage
·         They take Thalia to her room, helping her get changed into a comfy pair of pajamas
·         When Mark heads to their bedroom he’s met with the sight of Kieran curled up asleep, cuddling a pillow to his chest
·         His hair is a very pale blue, usually a sign that he’s happy
·         Mark gently climbs into the bed next to him, which startles Kieran, his hair darkening immediately as he shoots up
·         When he realises that it’s Mark, his hair pales again, furthering this family’s Wholesome™ agenda
·         When Cristina gets into the room, she’s already mentally preparing herself to tell Kieran about her pregnancy
·         She gets in bed, but slides over Mark so that she’s in-between them
·         Kieran is not opposed to this new sleeping arrangement, but usually when they switch up how they sleep, there’s a reason
·         Cristina has a huge smile plastered over her face, so Kieran sees she isn’t upset about anything
·         She leans in and whispers to him that she’s pregnant, her eyes welling up with happy tears
·         His hair flared a very pale blue, nearly white, when he heard the words
·         He’s so happy and excited about it that he nearly jumps out of bed
·         He chooses to express his happiness and excitement with a big ol’ kiss and a tight embrace
·         He vows to protect and love their next child as much as he loves Thalia, stating that they will of course be regarded as a Prince or Princess of the court too, despite not being his blood
·         If that’s okay with Tina and Mark of course
·         Which it totally is, they’re a family of royalty and this baby is going to be as much of a Prince/Princess as their Lia
·         The next nights that they are together, the boys are sure to keep Cristina between them protectively
·         They start wondering how and when to tell Lia
·         They know that she has expressed interest in having a little sibling, but there’s still that lingering fear that she could have changed her mind
·         So, about a week and a bit after they told Kieran, Cristina takes Lia out for the day
·         They have a girls’ night (which they often try to do, they also have daddies-daughter days where she is just with her dads and it’s wonderful)
·         (they also have times where it’s just one of them and Lia because they feel that although it’s fun to all be together, individual bonding with their daughter is super important too)
·         But anyway, today, Tina really wants to try and get that emphasis of how much she loves her Lia and wants to assure her that their girls’ nights will always be theirs, even if a baby comes along
·         So, nearing the end of their night out, the girls go and get some ice cream, and at the ice cream parlour, there’s a mother and a fairly young baby
·         Tina feels her heart flutter a little, just looking at the sweet mother and child
·         Lia looks from the baby and mother to her own mother and asks when she’ll get another baby
·         Wow, perfect timing, Cristina thought, but in the moment sort of dismisses it being like “that would be nice, huh?”
·         After the girls get their desserts, Cristina takes Lia to a table outside the parlour
·         She asks her what she thinks about having a little brother or sister
·         Lia goes on about how she really wants one someday because then she can have someone to play with
·         She also says that she would protect them no matter what, saying that she would make sure they are safe
·         Cristina feels like she might cry just a bit, like wowie Lia is so sweet and she is so excited to tell her
·         So, not long after Lia’s explained all the things she would do with her baby brother/sister, the girls have finished their desserts and Cristina tells Lia that she has something very important to tell her
·         Lia, knowing the gravity of the word “important” immediately puts on the most serious look, her little eyebrows furrowing together, her eyes regarding her mother’s with 100% focus
·         Cristina moves to be squatting down in front of Lia’s chair, matching her serious look, but smiling big as she says to Lia
·         “I’m glad that you are so excited for a little sibling,” she takes Lia’s hand, “because inside my tummy, there’s a little baby growing.”
·         Lia’s hair flairs up a light blue-green, a huge smile on her face.
·         She throws herself from the chair she’s in into a hug with her mom, squealing as she talks about how the baby should be born soon so that they can become best friends
·         Lia then backs down for a moment and pats her mom’s tummy
·         She goes up closer to it, and whispers “hi, baby, I’m gonna be your big sister!”
·         Cristina feels a little tear escape, the night only continues to get more sweet
·         Jump ahead a few weeks, Cristina’s now, like, 3 and a half months pregnant and is really showing a lot more than she had at this point with Lia
·         She isn’t too put off by it, but it does slightly concern her as at this point, she’s feeling more pregnancy symptoms sooner than last time, and a lot more aggressively
·         Like, she’s getting a lot more back pains and more pressure on her abdomen, and more morning sickness than she had when she was pregnant with Lia
·         Upon sharing these concerns with Kieran and Mark, they urge her to get it checked out
·         Since Silent City has had very limited access, she had to opt for calling up a warlock, and who better than one who doubles as a nurse?
·         Catarina Loss is summoned to a small apartment just outside the city of New York (where Cristina and Mark often stay when they aren’t in Faerie)
·         She does some tests with Tina and the baby is completely healthy, she explains to Cristina that it is very common to experience increased sensitivity during one’s second pregnancy, and that she and the baby will be fine
·         While she’s there, she can’t help but ask Catarina about the sex of the child
·         She’s adamant that it doesn’t matter to her, but she’s just curious and also Lia has been asking if she’s gonna have a baby brother or a baby sister and not being able to know really thins out the child’s patience
·         Catarina smiles and tells her that she’s having another girl
·         With bubbling excitement, Cristina can’t help but share a hug with Catarina before she’s off
·         That night, Cristina stays in the apartment, speaking quietly to her growing belly, telling her little girl how excited she is to know more and more about her
·         Despite only having travelled back to the mundane world that morning, she was advised to stay the evening as to be able to rest before making another trip to Faerie
·         She sends a fire message back to Kieran and Mark (who are both staying at the cottage with for daddies-daughter time) about how she’s found out the sex of the baby, but wishes to tell them in person
·         Doing this only makes them all more excited about their growing family
·         The next morning Cristina sets out to make her travel back to Faerie
·         When she arrives back, she walks the short distance from the edge of the forest to the cottage
·         It always startles her when she seed a flash of dark reddish-brown clad Fae whilst she walks through, even though she is well aware that the cottage is always surrounded by redcap guards
·         She is met with Lia running to the door once she opens it, her daughter smiling a big smile at her
·         Once they’re all inside, Tina goes on to explain that there’s nothing to raise any concern with the baby
·         Lia is quick to ask if she knows if she’s gonna have a baby brother or sister yet
·         Finally, Cristina looks up to Mark and Kieran with a smile and says: “we are going to have another girl”
·         Both Mark and Thalia actually jump up and down briefly with excitement (well, Thalia continues to jump around the room, her hair shifting to a bright green and to a pale blue as she bounces around with a huge grin on her face)
·         Kieran’s reaction was definitely more subtle, as he tends to be a bit less openly expressive
·         However, much like their daughter, his hair takes over him and it melts into a pale blue streaked through with light green
·         The quad celebrate with many hugs, and Thalia is determined that now she knows that she’s gonna have a sister, that she will be sure to let her play with all her favourite toys, and she will teach her how to be a Princess
·         Thalia lowkey loves getting dressed in her fancier clothing and making pretend court hearings with her stuffed animals, pretending to be a ruler of both Faerie and the Shadow World
·         It highkey makes all three of her parents cry just a little because it’s so Wholesome™
·         Hopping back a little to a thing I mentioned in my previous HC, we got some more stuff about the Wild Hunt
·         So ever since the Wild Hunt had been acquainted with the Princess of Unseelie and they all adore her, they’ve begun leaving her little tokens from their hunts on occasion
·         When they go on raids, and ravage the dead, they collect the finest of items, often bringing her gifts
·         Like, sometimes outside the cottage, there’s a random necklace, or a pretty ring and they all have a leaf tied to them with Thalia scratched into them
·         One time, there was a diadem that was left on the steps of the Mexico City Institute when Cristina and Lia were staying there
·         Again, it had a leaf strung to it, addressing it to the Princess of Unseelie
·         There was a day when the Lia and her parents were out for a walk in the fields of Faerie
·         They like taking walks as a family, but are always sure to stay in the safest parts of Faerie that they can be in, even though not everywhere is the safest when with a three year old Princess of a powerful court
·         The peaceful walk was interrupted by the horn of the Hunt, low and booming
·         Mark and Kieran panicked a little knowing that the horn was an announcement of their arrival, and usually a warning of imminent death or danger
·         Out of instinct, Mark puts an arm out to shield Cristina’s belly, and Kieran dashes ahead for Lia (who always is in their sight, but often likes to wander a few steps ahead of them)
·         Suddenly, hundreds of white blossoms fall from the sky all around them, Lia starts dancing around in the raining flowers, happily waving to the Hunt as they pass overhead
·         Kieran, Mark, and Cristina all smile at the flowers and their daughter dancing happily around
·         The event of it raining flowers spreads around Faerie quickly as it was quite the magnificent feat
·         Not everyone heard the Hunt’s horn, so stories are quick to form on the reason for the spurt of floral rain
·         Some say that the Princess of Unseelie has powers to summon the most beautiful rains
·         Some say it was a blessing to the Princess by the highest powers
·         And some know that it was the Wild Hunt, but not all know why they brought down flowers around the royal family
·         When word gets out to the Wild Hunt that Cristina is expecting another baby girl, there was a baby rattle delivered to the doorstep of the cottage
·         Instead of being addressed to Lia, it had an ivy vine tied around it, the leaves on the vine forming a message: for the next Princess of Unseelie
·         It felt too odd to take the possession of what was assumedly a deceased infant, but it was the thought that counts
·         Instead of giving the rattle to the baby, Kieran and Cristina decided that it would just be a decorative piece in the room that she would share with Lia
·         The Wild Hunt, despite being a group of fearsome warriors who ravage the dead, really do have some gentleness hidden within their brutal ways, and it always makes the family smile when there’s a new token left for them
·         Going ahead a few months, Tina’s about 8 months in, and she and Lia are out and about with Emma having a girls’ day (Lia loves her aunty Emma, and finds herself often following her more closely than her own mother when the three of them are out)
·         Mark is off with Julian, having a bros day, hanging out with Ty who is back on a break from Scholomance
·         Anyway, the girls are out walking along the beach, Lia stopping every now and again to collect shells and sea glass
·         Cristina and Emma reminisce on their early days of friendship, when they first met four years ago, how things have changed
·         Emma watches Lia with a wistfulness, wishing she could go back to when she was a young child, playing on the beaches with her parents, and Julian and his family
·         Of course, she says nothing, but Cristina sees the expression on her face, one that shows a longing and also a hopefulness
·         Being brought up during a war, having lost loved ones during it, both Emma and Cristina can only hope that Lia won’t have to suffer through a similar fate
·         Meanwhile, Mark and his brothers are catching up while simply enjoying each other’s company
·         Both Julian and Ty express their excitement about the new addition into their extended family, talking of how exciting it is to have a new baby
·         Of course they still consider Lia their family, but she is determined that she is “not a baby anymore” and is fully prepared to become a caregiver to her baby sister
·         Julian envies Lia in a way that he cannot fully explain to the others
·         He hopes and prays that she won’t have to ever be forced into having to become an actual caregiver to her baby sister
·         He knows that the new baby will be born into love and happiness, but he can’t help the looming memory of what it really means to be the primary caregiver to siblings when you yourself are but only a child
·         There are a lot of feelings shared during this visit, and when it’s finally time to go, Mark, Cristina and Lia bid their farewells and they all hang on to each other as they take the Eternidad out and head back home to the cottage
·         When they arrive, they are inexplicably separated
·         Mark and Lia head in to the cottage after alerting a group of redcaps of what was happening
·         She was found not too long after a bit deeper in the forest, unwell
·         The travel and the shock of their immediate arrival must’ve set something off, and she had realised that she was going into labour
·         A healer was sent for, and a messenger was sent to Kieran to alert him of what was going on
·         Cristina is brought into the bedroom, the healer arrives shortly after and boots Mark from the room
·         When Kieran arrives nearly an hour later, he is lacking his usual composure
·         His hair was a mess, his eyes were frantic, he looked as though he had rolled through dirt on his way
·         Kieran asked Mark for updates, but Mark hadn’t much to tell him other than that things were going well, at least he believes they are
·         Lia was in her room, when she heard that her little sister was coming, she was set on making her and her sister’s room look pretty, so she went off to clean her room
·         It was usually a nightmare trying to have Lia clean her room, as she had always had it all to herself for the most part, and was very adamant that her toys didn’t like being put away
·         Anyway, back to the Panicked Dads™
·         He and Mark asked to be able to be able to see Cristina
·         The healer would not allow him or Mark in to see Cristina, believing that their panicky, anxious state could harm the delicate energy that was filling the bedroom
·         Kieran tried to be all “I’m the King here, let me in” but the healer just straight up shuts the door in his face
·         After several hours of long, excruciating labour, Cristina was relieved to hear her baby crying, knowing it was a sign of her good health
·         Finally, her boys are allowed to come in, and Mark’s eyes immediately well with tears
·         He looks down at their new daughter, marvelling at her pale skin, dark brown tufts of hair, and plump cheeks
·         She’s so adorable and everyone is all around quaking
·         Mark and Kieran are asking Cristina how it was, if she’s doing all right, if she needs anything
·         Cristina is beyond exhausted, she has the baby resting in her arms, but asks if either of them would like to hold her
·         Both of them put their arms out, but it’s Kieran who ends up holding her first
·         Mark stands beside him, running the back of his hand ever so lightly along her cheek when she reaches a hand up to grab his finger
·         He cries again
·         The fathers move to sit on the edge of the bed, Cristina is resting but still facing them
·         She watches the beauty in their expressions as they marvel at the newest addition to the family, smiling as Mark’s arm goes to cradle under Kieran’s
·         The pair of them hold her, and as if she knew what was happening, Lia peeks her head into the room
·         She hops up on the bed and looks at her baby sister and smiles big, leaning over to kiss her on her cheek
·         Lia crawls over to her mother and cuddles up to her, thanking her for giving her a sister
·         Cristina pulls her eldest daughter in for a hug, telling her that she knows that she will be an excellent big sister
·         The question that hangs in the air is finally asked by Lia, who gets up from her mother, and moves over to sit beside her dads and new sister
·         “What’s her name?” she asks, peering over at her
·         Kieran, Mark, and Cristina had talked endlessly about names before coming to their conclusion
·         Her name is Kalliope (keeping with the theme of Greek Mythology based names that I just, ugh, I love them)
·         (also, idk if I mentioned it before, but Thalia was one of the Greek Muses, and so was Kalliope, and that was unintentional on my part, I just love those names)
·         Then, again as with Thalia, even though a “faerie name” wouldn’t hold any power over her, they gave her one, it’s Nereida which is the Spanish version of Nerissa, so we paying homage to Mark’s birth mother and also I just really like the name, oops
·         Anyway, Lia looks over at her baby sister, and she smiles at her
·         “Hi, Kalli, I’m your big sister,” she beams
·         The parents all share an adoring look, loving the nickname that’s already spouted, and just adoring their baby girls being so Wholesome™
·         Before long, Kalli starts opening her eyes
·         The parents are still too busy marvelling at Lia interacting with Kalli, so they didn’t notice until Lia pipes up with:
·         “Look, papa,” Lia point to Kalli, “she has eyes like one of yours!”
·         Sure enough, little Kalli is looking around at her family with Blackthorn blue-green eyes

Sweetheart - Chapter 1
Summary: Muffet repays Papyrus for saving a spider by giving him a special bar of chocolate. The secret family recipe keeps customers coming back for more. Papyrus uses it as an ingredient for his brother’s birthday cake, which leads to some...interesting...results.
Papyrus’ breath mists out in front of him as he tromps through the snow. The Snowdin weather has taken a turn for the absolutely frigid during the past few days. Many of the Snowdin residents are waiting out the cold snap in their toasty homes, but there is no such luck for the sentries. The canine unit doesn’t seem all too bothered, their thick fur insulating them. Papyrus finds himself envious of their natural advantage; even with layered shirts, a scarf, and a puffy outercoat, his bones are still rattling in the cold. It’s a good thing he doesn’t have a nose; if he did, it would’ve fallen off from frostbite by now.
Still, Papyrus is a sentry-in-training. No matter the weather, it’s his duty to attend to the forest’s many puzzles. A little wind chill won’t stop a human, after all. But a puzzle might.
And thus Papyrus finds himself running checks over each and every puzzle set up throughout the forest. As he’d feared, nearly all of their joints and mechanisms are frozen, stiffly unresponsive. After hours of chiseling and brushing away snow, Papyrus’ own joints are feeling much the same.
He rallies as he approaches the final puzzle on his list, the tile puzzle. He’s looking forward to returning home, and watching some MTT on the television beneath a cozy blanket with the heating on full blast. Maybe Sans will even opt to join him, instead of heading off to that greasy bar.
Papyrus uses an old broom to brush the powdering of snow on the puzzle tiles. His vigorous sweeping staves off the worst of the chill in his bones, at the very least.
Once the tiles are cleared of snow to his satisfaction, Papyrus turns his attention to the activation mechanism. Its multitude of buttons jut out past its top, so snow has collected in tall lines atop each of them. Getting out his smaller brush, Papyrus gets to work removing the snow. As he works, he soon hears a faint squeaking noise. He pauses, but the noise persists.
Papyrus looks around. The forest is still. There’s no sign of anyone else around.
“Hello?” He calls out. Maybe they’re shy, and hiding. “Is someone there?”
The squeaking continues. Papyrus goes back to brushing off snow, when he notices a small black speck on one of the bottom buttons. He crouches down to get a better look. The cries are coming from an itty bitty spider. Papyrus isn’t too knowledgeable on spiders, but this one isn’t speaking the common monster language yet. They must be very young.
“What are you doing so far from home?” He wonders aloud.
Papyrus holds out his hand. The spider chitters to him, and scuttles up his arm. They nestle in the fold of his scarf.
Papyrus pats the folded fabric gently. He stares down at the small spider clinging to his scarf.
“Fret no longer, for the Great Papyrus will return you to your home. You will not become a spider-cicle on my watch, nyeh heh heh!”
Leaving his tools behind, he heads back to town at a brisk pace. Every few steps he glances down to make sure the spider is still hanging on.
Sans has mentioned several times that a colony of spiders lives near his hot dog station. Their queen, Muffet, had initially taken offense to Sans’ competing food market, and had tried to chase him off. She filled his condiment containers with cobwebs, and replaced his buns with moldy ones. But eventually she changed her tune to one of grudging toleration, when the other spiders took a liking too Sans’ hot dogs and cats. Now five or six spiders carry home food from his station daily.
“It is most impressive that you made it so far from your home on such tiny legs,” He says. The spider chirps agreeably.
While Papyrus carries the spider through Snowdin, he keeps up a steady stream of conversation to make sure the spider remains awake and alert. They reach the River Person soon enough, and then they’re off to Hotland.
“Tra la la,” The River Person sighs. “The piece of cake will not be a piece of cake.”
Papyrus, unsure of what they’re talking about, gives an agreeable hum anyway. The River Person’s  rambling reminds him—Sans’ birthday is fast approaching. His brother never seems to want anything in particular, but Papyrus has prepared several gifts that are sure to flummox him, fondly. But there’s one consequential detail he has yet to iron out, and that is the matter of the cake. He and Undyne have paused their pasta making for the past week, trying and failing to create the perfect birthday cake. Now he only has two days before Sans’ birthday. The cake that he makes with Undyne tomorrow will simply have to be perfect.
“We’ve arrived, tra la la…”
Speedy as ever! Papyrus thanks the River Person and steps off the ferry. It soon disappears back down the river.
Hotland lives up to its name; beneath all these layers, Papyrus is sweltering. He shrugs off his heavy outercoat, and ties it around his waist. He rolls up the sleeves of his multiple sweaters to his elbows. That’s the best he can do for now.
Following signs and directions from helpful passersby’s, Papyrus navigates his way through Hotland. The magma has an awful sulfur stench, truly terrible. How can anyone stand to live here? That’s not even including the overabundance of atrocious puzzles.
The only silver lining is that the warm weather has perked up his spider friend; they chirp almost nonstop as Papyrus continues on.
They pass by Sans’ hot dog station. A small “out to lunch” sign is placed on the counter.
“That lazybones,” Papyrus mutters. He might be getting older, but that is no excuse to slack off!
Further on, there is another food stand, but the tiered trays sit empty. Evidently Muffet has not set up shop today.
As he continues on, the natural brightness of Hotland begins to dim. The muted light catches on glittering spider webs.
“Wowie,” Papyrus breathes. The webs are enormous and intricate, like a giantess’ doily pattern. Some webs have pastries and other items cocooned up in them.
There’s some webbing on the ground that sticks to his boots. It takes surprising effort to yank them free and continue deeper into the spider nest.
“Ms. Muffet?” Papyrus calls. “Are you here?”
He hears the low whispers of spiders, hears a herd of tiny legs scuttle across the floor.
Papyrus jerks to a stop. Gummy webbing has stuck him fast yet again. He tries to pull his boots free, but is unable to escape the supremely sticky web.
Thousands of spiders converge upon him. He doesn’t have time to react; within a split second they have him bound tight in a firm cocoon.
“N-Nyeh?!”
He tries to wiggle free, to no avail. He summons a bone construct, but the webbing must be enchanted, because he can’t cut himself free. Oh dear.
On a trio of glittering strings, Muffet descends from above. She grabs him by the chin, lifting his face to look him over.
“And who are you to walk so brazenly into my territory, dearie?” Her smile shows her fangs.
“W-Well, I’m—”
The spider in his scarf squeaks. Muffet’s eight eyes widen in surprise. She scoops the spider into her hands.
“Claudette! You had us all terribly worried. Don’t you ever run off again!”
The spider chatters back to her. As they speak, Papyrus becomes aware of an itch in his cheekbone that his position does not allow him to scratch. Still, it’d be rude to interrupt, so he waits patiently and does his best to ignore it.
Muffet’s hands flash purple for a moment, and then she sets the spider down. It scampers off to join the cluster of small arachnids.
“Claudette has informed me of your deed. You have our gratitude.”
Papyrus straightens as well as he can, considering his restricted movement.
“Just performing my duty as sentry-in-training, Ms. Muffet!”
“It’s just Muffet for you, dearie.” She grabs a string on his cocoon, and gives it a sharp tug. The cocoon unravels instantly, falling in coils of spider silk to the ground. “Sit with me a moment.”
A horde of spiders brings forth two antique purple chairs, and an elegant table. As Papyrus takes his seat across from Muffet, more spiders crawl forth, placing a tray of chocolate-dipped shortbread cookies on the table. Strings lower down a teapot, as well as two cups in their saucers. A dish with sugar cubes is scooted onto the table as well.
Papyrus marvels at the sheet coordination required for such efficiency as Muffet pours them both piping hot cups of tea.
“Claudette had overheard the older spiders discussing those of our clan still trapped in the old Ruins, you see.” Muffet plunks two sugar cubes in her tea before taking a sip. “But Snowdin is far too cold for our kind to travel through. She is truly fortunate you arrived when you did. A few hours more and she would have perished.”
“The Great Papyrus is always happy to help.” When’s the last time someone besides Sans praised him so openly? Muffet’s words send a pleasant pulse through his soul.
Muffet nudges the cookie tray towards him. Aside from the occasional milkshake at Grillby’s, Papyrus isn’t much of a sweets connoisseur. For the sake of politeness, he grabs a cookie.
He takes a bite, and nearly moans at how delicious it is. The shortbread is flaky, surprisingly fluffy. The chocolate melts in his mouth, and when he swallows it, warmth spreads through his entire body.
He shivers. “These cookies are amazing!”
He soon finds himself reaching for another, craving more of that smooth, creamy chocolate.
Muffet chuckles. “I’m glad you like them.”
Papyrus is struck with a sudden thought. He swallows down his current mouthful.
“Do you bake cakes as well?”
“Of course. Cakes, donuts, cupcakes, scones…there is no confection I haven’t dabbled in.”
Papyrus explains the situation with his brother’s impending birthday, and his current lack of an acceptable cake.
Muffet traces her pinky around the rim of her cup, while another hand drums thoughtfully on the table. “Normally I wouldn’t share this with anyone. But you’re not just anyone, dearie. I can help you this much.”
Muffet disappears for a moment, long enough for Papyrus to polish off another cookie. He’s licking the chocolate from his phalanges when Muffet returns, holding a bar of chocolate wrapped in purple foil.
“For generations, my kind have made sweets with this chocolate. Our family recipe has special secret ingredients to ensure customers always come back for more.”
Muffet hands him the bar.
“Place one square of this bar into the batter of your brother’s birthday cake. No matter the appearance or additional ingredients, it will simply be the most delicious cake he’s ever eaten.”
“W-Wowie! Thank you, Muffet!”
Papyrus’ cellphone buzzes. It’s Sans texting him, no doubt wondering where he is. It’s three hours past the end of his shift.
“Gadzooks, is that the time?” He flashes Muffet an apologetic look. “I have to go home now. But thank you for the chocolate!”
Muffet waves him on. “Of course. And remember, dearie: only one square of that bar per dessert.”
Papyrus nods in affirmation, and hurries back home.

Something late for Passover
I wanted to do something for Passover, which was technically two days ago now, because I came up with this, and I decided to write it, but didn't finish this until now.
She didn't bring a lot with her, from the Surface. Mostly just the clothes on her back, and her memories. And most of those, she had to leave behind. For the sake of her peace of mind. She had to leave her past in the past.
But she refused to forget her heritage. That had been something very important to her, and her family, back on the Surface. And also something of a sore point. She remembers being in kindergarten and learning about Santa. All the other kids talking about how he brought them gifts, and they set up a tree, and hung stockings. For the whole month of December, the teacher had them sing Christmas carols.
The first day, she remembers going home, and asking her parents about Santa. About why he didn't visit them. That was the first time she realized her culture was a bit different from the other kids'. Her dad told her bluntly that there was no such thing as Santa Claus, and it was a myth.
The next day, she remembers going to school, and when the teacher started talking about Santa Claus and Christmas again, she had stood up, and said, "Santa isn't real."
The teacher had looked at her disapprovingly, a look she quickly grew familiar with over the years, and told her to sit down. She just repeated what she said. Several of the other kids looked shocked. The teacher moved to put her in the time out corner, but she had stood her ground, and shouted at the teacher to stop lying. She had run away and screamed that the teacher was lying and that there was no such thing as Santa Claus and that Christmas was wrong!
That was the first time she was sent to the principal's office. Her dad wasn't pleased. She quickly learned to keep her mouth shut and sing the stupid Christmas carols.
Beside her brazen attitude that made it difficult to make friends who weren't scared off by her aggressiveness, who she was set her apart. Even if she didn't say anything, the other kids always found out. Of course, she fought back. But with her history, she was the only one who usually got in trouble. But she never hid it. She openly embraced it. It was the one thing she felt she could be proud of. and she had no problem with the other kids' religion. She just was proud of who she was.
In the Underground, she didn't know what date it was up on the Surface. Her sense of time had been completely thrown off. But in her room in the Burrow, she had made a makeshift calendar. Sans and Papyrus had helped her set it up. She had added all the important dates, like her mom's and new siblings' birthdays, as well as Sans' and Papyrus's. She later found a date that was written in Papyrus's big handwriting, saying, 'BRAVERY'S FOUND DAY.' That worked well enough as an indication of her age. She wasn't quite sure anyways.
And she had added all the ones she could remember from her other mother's special calendar, with the dates that couldn't be found on most others. She was a bit upset to find she couldn't remember all of them, but she tried her best.
According to her calendar, an important one was coming up. She couldn't help but feel the irony of celebrating that one. So she ignored it. Until one day Papyrus confronted her.
"BRAVERY?"
"Yes?" She mumbled, busy on building her snow fort for their epic snow battle.
"WHAT’S PASSOVER?"
She felt cold suddenly, and not from the snow or freezing wind. She looks up at him, and sees his openly curious face. She can't quite blaming for looking at her calendar. He had helped make it, and they hung out often enough in her room. But, while some of the other holidays were easy to pass of as obscure Monster Holidays, this one had special historical context that was tied in to the very nature of the holiday. She had been trying to celebrate it discreetly, not quite as disciplined as her parents had done it, but her best. Her new family already knew that she was odd, so dismissed her weird behavior.
"Um, it's not important."
Even without eyes, she can feel his gaze burning into her as she pretended to focus on her fort. He was always so curious about her, and her background. Anything about her really. Sometimes, she got the impression of a scientist studying a specimen, but that passed and he was back to being her friend.
"IT SEEMS IMPORTANT. IT WAS CIRCLED SEVERAL TIMES IN YOUR CALENDAR."
"It's… difficult to explain." She settles on as an answer. And he was also so astute, a lot more than most Monsters gave him credit for. While not exactly displeased, she knew he's not exactly happy with her answer either.
But she's saved from further interrogation by being called inside. She says a hasty goodbye and rushes back home.
On the Surface, most of her holidays had just been days where she hadn't been allowed to do certain things. Now, in the Underground, she had a newfound appreciation for the meanings behind the holidays.
Passover though… was going to be difficult to explain. Unlike most of the other's it was based specifically on the freedom of her people from slavery. An Exodus to their new homeland. For the Monsters, she can't help feel it was ironic. And not in a good way. A holiday based on celebrating freedom when you could walk from one end of your world to the other in two days. Well, two days if you were determined to.
But, she wanted to share it with Papyrus. He, more than his brother, she felt would appreciate it most, even if he couldn't understand it fully. More than her family too, despite their love for her. Resolved, she came up with a plan.
A few days later, Papyrus and Sans came home, having had a delayed trip to the nearby shopping store, the storekeeper having kept them a bit longer than usual, to Bravery already inside the house. She had a special key which she usually used to enter, so it was no surprise that she was able to get in. What surprised them was the set up she had on the table. There was a plate with strange symbols and weird food in the center of the table. She had cups set out as well.
She looks up when they enter, and smiles. "Hey guys! Happy Passover!"
Papyrus gasps, hands framing his face as his eyes become starlike. "WOWIE BRAVERY! ARE YOU FINALLY GOING TO TELL ME WHAT THAT HOLIDAY IS ALL ABOUT?"
"Haha, yep!"
"wow kiddo, you really went all out, huh?"
"Oh, this is nothing! I couldn't find all the materials, but I made do with what I had."
She beams at them. "Please, take a seat!"
Sans puts the groceries away as Papyrus bounds over, his coat and shoes for once just abandoned by the door in his excitement. Sans takes a seat as Bravery begins pouring them some Spider Cider from their fridge. "so kiddo, care to explain what this is all about?"
Keeping a straight face, she glances at them. "You know how I have some… weird holidays that I celebrate?"
Sans's grip on his shorts imperceptibly tightens. "yeah?" "YEP!"
"Well, this is another of them. It's… supposed to celebrate freedom, and one's thankfulness for it. But," she says before Sans can interject, "I feel like it can also represent our dreams for the future, and our future freedom. A remembrance of our past and a hope for the future."
"WOWIE! THAT IS BEAUTIFUL BRAVERY!"
She smiles sheepishly. "It's nothing."
"heh, don't sell yourself short kiddo. that sounds like a lovely holiday. now. care to tell us how it goes?"
Her face brightens up. "Oh yeah! I don't remember all of it, but I had mom make us some of this special bread! It's called matzah, and it's really good! It represents the sacrifices we have to make for freedom and all of that junk!"
She eagerly proceeds to tell them all about the things she has before them, adjusting it along the way to fit the holiday's new meaning, for them. She sings the songs she can remember, and Papyrus adds some new ones, which they sing at the next Passover. Eventually, the holiday becomes a community wide event, akin to Giftmas in the cheer it inspires, but more in the hope it inspires in the people, hope for the future, for their freedom.
All in all, Bravery is pretty proud of who she is. And she's proud of who she has become.
Hope you guys enjoy!
