I found this super cool article that talks about the life of a Division I rower, and in it was a rough timetable for what a week would look like for them. This table is amazing because I know for a fact I would have put one together myself if I hands found this one!!! Obviously it’s naturally geared more towards modern au since the 1930s were nearly 100 years ago, but I’m sure it’s not too much different from what it was like back then!

Here’s an example of a typical week for a Division I Rower created by Laura Simon, the lead recruiter at Yale University for the Women’s Team as of 2021.

The other night at trivia, there was a question about Moby Dick.

While everyone considered their answer, the DJ played "Remember the Name" by Fort Minor.

The moment I heard those opening strings and the steady, solid, wooden cadence of the beat as my mind thought of a surging ship over a cold, gray sea broken by the white flukes of foam and leviathans...I need a new Moby Dick movie made As Soon As Possible, and I need that song over a whaling montage.

Kind of a weird thing to focus on but I was struck with the angst that could come from the Milgram prisoners skipping their periods for the first time as established by that timeline convo (and the time-is-frozen theories). At least for Yuno and Mahiru who had been with men beforehand, it could make for an extremely concerning time before they convene with the others.

Mahiru talks a lot about ‘overheating’ with her boyfriend – when was the last time they were together before he died/she came to Milgram? She may immediately assume that after all this time of dreaming about a family, she would finally get one… except, she’d already doomed it.

Or worse, Yuno. Would she assume this was some twisted punishment of Milgram’s, or coincidence from the universe? She already has so many complex feelings about the first time this happened, and now she has to face the same decision again, under even worse conditions.

thinking abt splatoon 3 and it's kinda upsetting that they had this cool location of the splatlands and the reveal trailer made it a more apocalyptic setting with unique cultural backgrounds in splatsville idols and then just decide to spend the rest of S3 making more of an inkopolis presence

#i think theyre experimenting with the series a LOT with this game #because they cant make the next game cement a formula and get pokemon syndromed #so theyre testing the waters of how to make 4 feel really different in ways people will respond well to #and wrapping up inkopolis lore like squid sisters oth and salmon run/mr grizz #i LOVE the splatlands but i think they should make 4s location have 0 contact with any of the japan areas and take it somewhere else closeby #like an entire island over that requires a boat to travel and is too long for a bridge or subway
