@wrench-jackie Liked for starter call. ♡ -> for (Eleanor Lamb)
Tumblr media
Through the pipes and closed spaces of rapture, which were as deep as the sea, Eleanor seemed to be with some little sisters who talk about their big daddys but what was going through her head was about her father even trying to mix sad and happy memories . Clutching her little toy, She adjust a little and listen for small murmurs about someone walking around Rapture… A Stranger? Her mother said on the radio that she would take care of the citizens and that she would protect them… but why? Was he dangerous? Where he came from? Why was he there? For a long time, Andrew Ryan was feared as was her mother, Sofia Lamb, who was brought to power. She was determined to get out of there and that's what she always said.
Hidden paths with her sisters, she managed to infiltrate and wear a big sister armor it was strange, but, yes… would use it to hide from her mother's eyes. Dreams and whispers were simply heard from her head but why? She being Sofia lamb's hand to the future, the fallen future. Sneaking in the shadows and using it to get to that man, she watched from afar how he acted. Was he an acquaintance?...

I love how the ot3 are still taking classes to learn each other's skills. Do you think that we'll ever see part of those classes? Like the tail end of one at the beginning of the episode right before we find out about the person who needs to be helped?
omg bestie me tf too
I’d LOVE to see, like, hardison and eliot learning how to crack a safe, or eliot practicing fighting forms with parker and hardison, or hardison teaching eliot and parker how to create basic bugs
or parker taking them to a racetrack or something like that and backseat driving making them practice driving maniacally defensive driving
OR ELIOT TEACHING THEM HOW TO COOK (I know that isn’t technically a crime talent, but helloooooooo sharing your love language let’s fucking GO)
or in that vein, even just scenes of parker and eliot watching hardison’s favorite shows and actually paying attention would be really cute
also eliot holding the punching bag as parker and hardison take turns with it, gently critiquing them on their stances and punches. he isn’t gruff with them (unless they tease him) because he genuinely wants them to learn and be able to best protect themselves. he knows they’re both strong and fit and capable, but it helps him rest a little easier knowing that he has taught them better self defense moves
and parker teaching them how to pick out of handcuffs so they will never be trapped if she can’t get to them in time
and hardison teaching them how to deactivate self-destructs and other offensive technological security measures because he never wants them to feel like he felt stepping on udall’s bomb or feel like he felt waiting to hear if parker made it out of that potato safe
logically I know that we probably won’t see it in the show since it (unfortunately) isn’t really centered around the ot3 dynamic, but I’d surely sell my soul to see it on screen

the character everyone gets wrong
Tumblr media
//I have a top 3 of all the characters I've seen people get completely wrong. - Miguel O'Hara - Brigid Tenenbaum - Shiver
//I have seen the absolute SHITTIEST TAKES about these characters in particular and it makes me want to explode. No miguel is not a vampire he's part spider and has paralyzing venom, he had one really, REALLY bad response to Miles wanting to change his fate (said response was probably due to his own trauma of seeing a world fall apart around him due to his actions and not wanting mistakes to repeat. Also him partially projecting onto Miles, that too.) AND PEOPLE STARTED CALLING HIM FERAL.
//No tenenbaum is not exploiting jack for her own gains that is her SON, she just doesn't want to see him or the poor kids she experimented on to suffer any more in Rapture like she had for years. She caused her own problem and she wanted to fix it with jack's help, simple as that. //Shiver is not her bandit persona, she actually cares deeply about her friends and the members of deep cut, literally in her latest splatfest dialogue she got them coupons to go to karaoke, bowling and a sweets buffet. She loves her friends as much as she loves treasure.
//I've seen these awful takes and many, many more like these on twitter and even on here, and i swear to god every time i see these type posts it makes me want to hit the users behind the screen with a broom.

cyberpsychosis could maybe be so cool if it was people being possessed by some sort of rouge ai,or as part of a corporate conspiracy. like as a planned obsolescence thing where certain parts during production are programmed to make people Do That after a certain point so you have to buy the next new 20,000eddies cannon arms to replace the nearly identical previous model or else you might kill everyone you love and die because your cyberwares "outdated". or untraceable viruses infecting competing corporations cyberware using their rival's customer's livelihoods to sabotage their profits. and maybe any one of those things works in such a way that its designed to detect atypical brain chemistry in a host, and thus triggers more frequently with them to tage advantage of and use those people as a scapegoat and a way to further fear monger against them, and you can uncover that this is the case. or something along those lines. and the more cyberware someone has the more likely it is that they could encounter any of these scenarios. but no it is just #crazy people being too #crazy.
#they kinda toyed w something like that in earlier drafts. with dollchips and the project ghost thing thats too much to explain in tumbletags#but yeah#honestly w how little its present in the final game beyond Go Herd Them Up And Beat The Shit Out Of Them So They Can Recover In Therapy#Offscreen In An Optional Sidequest With Literally No Conclusion they couldve easily just retconned its existence in the world entirely#especially since really the only reason why it exists in the lore in the first place is so the humanity system in the ttrpg keeps your#character from becoming too overpowered from too much cyberware. like thats it.#but for how much they dont wanna flesh out any other conspiratorial type stuff for the sake of ''It is a Mystery👻''#and how much they went with ''idk where cyberpsychosis comes from we dont know if its even real'' ingame#edgerunners and mike pondsmith himself sure have a lot to say about it and exactly how it works#we cant even leave that up for interpretation for players to find some way into coping themselves into believing its not as weirdly ableist#as it is#and we cant do anything else with it that would actually be cool. or make sense. in universe and just logically.#however. im a dumbfuck and am not beyond thinking about how like. in a hypothetical scenario where melissa welles is still around#And jackies bled out corpse is still used for the arasaka supersoldier program and is going around killing people.i cant not think about ho#mama welles would have to handle both of her kids dying and also going on rampages out of (mostly) anyones control. like think about that.#heart wrenching and whatnot. could you fucking imagine with everything else shes been through.#anyway sorry for talking about things that very literally probably less than a dozen ppl know/care about its just. interesting.#i froth over the potential that it had#that im tricking myself into believing that it had

there are those who understand that love & monsters wasn't a bad episode, it was fun and experimental and more for kids than some others and unfortunately placed in the position of being right after impossible planet/satan pit which was big budget high-concept scifi versus the comparatively silly and low-stakes monster-of-this-week (except of course for the mains the stakes are very high and in fact over half of them don't make it out alive), as well as being the first of these kinds of episodes that feature less of the doctor, as well as being based off a kid's competition, but also it's an excellent study of the people caught in the shrapnel of the doctor's life, from LINDA to jackie, and it's a love letter to people who take doctor who (and scifi and nerd stuff) quite seriously and really care and over-analyse it, and it's a wonderful example of some things they could do on low-budget, and it hearkens back to those wobbly-sets days of yore when sometimes a dalek could be defeated by hitting it with a wrench or pushing it really hard, and a bunch of self-important doctor who adult fans back in the day shouldn't have been allowed to cast verdict on it

so many outfit choices... 💌
⊹ ˚ . ♡ ┆・send me an emoji & i'll show you what they would wear for . . . ━ !
a first date outfit
So I'm going with a few outfit ideas based on the level of formality because I want to lol!
Casual first date:
Tumblr media
Jasmine favors more form-fitting clothing, like pencil skirts, cigarette pants, etc, as opposed to the looser fit inspired by Dior's bar suit. She can be thought of as the typical "sweater girl". While she wears the popular Dior style to maintain a fashionable look, she prefers the slender cut of clothing that fits to the body well. She feels it makes her more appealing, especially in making a first impression on someone. Pairing this often with some type of heeled shoe, despite the inches these add to her already statuesque five foot eight figure, she enjoys the overall shape created when adding a bit of heel to her look. Even in a potato sack, she is a total knock-out, so it doesn't take too much effort on her part to appear lovely.
Like a lot of people during that time period of fashion, she coordinates her clothing and accessories, such as matching her nail polish and lipstick, and has a weakness for red, pink, flowers, bows, lace, and silk. She is almost always wearing a pair of matching gloves with her outfits, and she replicates many intricate hairstyles of the day with decorative hats and other hair accessories.
Formal first date:
Tumblr media
Formalwear for Jasmine is the time to make a show with her look- for a formal date, like any event, she'd want to be a real showstopper, a glimmering dreamgirl that captures the eye and enchants the observer. She favors reds, golds, whites, light blues, diamonds, sapphires, rubies, mink furs, and opera gloves with fine, sparkling bracelets. Jasmine Jolene takes a lot of pride in how she dresses, and the longer it takes her to decide on a look usually implies an important encounter for her.

Thinking about how, between him and V, Jackie is by far the more personable of the two. He oozes such easy charisma that it's really hard to actually hate him. He's the one with connections all over Night City. V's best friend who always knows a guy. He hooks V up with whoever they could possibly need. Everyone who's ever met him either loves him, or has great respect for him.
And yet. Despite the number of people he knows and who know him, after he dies, V is the one they remember. "Didn't you have someone with you?" Sandra asks. "You did well, V. You and that... friend of yours." Wakako states. Jackie is the one who got them that job. Or at least that's what the prologue sequence led me to believe. V asks him if Wakako had any tips for the Sandra case. Therefore, Jackie was the one who got them hired. I cant tell if Wakako forgot his name on purpose cause she didn't like him/care enough or genuinely doesn't remember. I know Sandra has good reason not to. She was unconscious.
It's just gut wrenching to me. Jackie put in all this work, prolly called in so many favors, to help V get to where they needed to be, and in the end, no one knows his name. He went out with a bang and didn't even get a footnote. Of course, V can change that after the game if they want I would guess. Use their prestige and respect to spread the word about the bestest friend they ever had in nc. He does get his own drink at the Afterlife, but does anyone know who they're drinking? How colorful and full of life he was? Do they know how he died? What he did?
And I mean, his name seemed to be at least somewhat well-known in the valentinos. But that means about jack squat in the merc world. He was supposed to be a legend, but all he ended up as was a ghost.
What makes this worse in my canon, is that the "Major Leagues" was never even V's dream. It always belonged to Jack. When he chases it, he does so in Jackie's place. For him. Not for V. Sometimes he wishes it were Jackie's name he was using, just so someone would hear it and be filled with hope for the future. Just like Jackie was with Morgan Blackhand, Andrew Weyland, and Adam Smasher. He carries Jackie's ghost on his back, every rung of the ladder, and no one even sees it.

Okay, so – a few thoughts on Izzy’s death. I’m sure other people have also laid this out, but I haven’t stumbled across it yet, so this is partially for me to get my thoughts organized. For the record, I love Izzy – he fascinated me (in a horrified sort of way) in season 1, and then he grew on me significantly in season 2. What a weird little guy. But also – I’m fine with them killing him off, and also with how they did it, because I think it makes sense for the story. But I know that a lot of people are super upset about his death, and also about the way he died. So, a few semi-coherent thoughts on that:
Why not a sacrifice play?
This writer’s room is so self-aware, so deliberate about engaging with tropes – there is no possible way that they sat around breaking the story of Izzy’s death and no one said “woah, wouldn’t it be symbolic and gut-wrenching if he sacrificed himself for Ed? Or Stede?” No way. So why didn’t they go that route?
Izzy’s arc in season 2 has been all about becoming his own man, separate from Ed/Blackbeard. Like – that’s what he’s worked towards, this whole season. That is his growth. It would be insulting to take that away from him at the last minute, and make his death purely about Ed and Stede.
Listen, I love a sacrifice arc as much as the next person. But Izzy’s life isn’t about sacrifice anymore – that’s the whole point of his season 2 arc. He has spent decades sacrificing both himself and Ed to the altar of Blackbeard. No more.
It also means that Ed and Stede’s mourning doesn’t have to be tinged with the guilt of “he sacrificed himself to save me/my partner.” They can mourn Izzy purely for himself, because he is worth mourning. This, I would argue, is the send-off that Izzy’s character deserves.
Izzy’s death wasn’t accidental on Ricky’s part – it wasn’t a stray bullet.
We see from the scene when the crew is locked up in Spanish Jackie’s that Ricky recognizes Izzy. We know from their conversation that, for Ricky, Izzy is the epitome of piracy – Izzy, not Blackbeard, is the legend.
The thing is – Ed and Stede are both in the scene where Izzy dies (I’m not sure if you can see Stede on screen, but the bts photos show Rhys’ position, on what would be the far right of the shot). Arguably, Stede would have been the easier shot – Ricky wouldn’t have had to complete a full 180-degree turn before he could pull the trigger. So why doesn’t he go for Stede, who abandoned him to the tender mercies of Spanish Jackie in the first place? Or Blackbeard, arguably the greatest/most famous pirate alive, with the possible exception of Zheng, who he’s already targeted? Sure, you could argue that he’d going for Ed here… but I don’t think he is. The shot’s too low to be accidentally aimed for Izzy – it would hit Ed’s knee or something, probably. I think that yes, it’s a panicked shot, not well-aimed at all. But if it’s aimed at anyone, I think it has to be Izzy. And at the very least, the symbolism of it is very much not accidental.
For probably the first time since they created Blackbeard, Izzy isn’t just a stand-in for Ed. His significance is his own in this scene – in all of his interactions with Ricky. He’s not targeted because he’s Blackbeard’s first mate (why go for the first mate when you could go for Blackbeard?). He’s targeted because he’s Izzy Hands – because he is significant, powerful, famous, respected in and of himself.
And more than that – this is an arc about the end of piracy. And Izzy Hands is piracy – the show has been telling us from the beginning that piracy is a mixed bag, full of the good and the bad, and Izzy represents that  – represents both the toxic, violent side of piracy, and the side of piracy that he grows into, that he explains to Ricky – piracy as family, home, belonging. Izzy dies, and it hurts, because not only is he a great character, but he represents in one person all of the complicated, hilarious, heartbreakin, violent, loving aspects of piracy – and of the show. But it is so, so important that Izzy dies as himself – not as a symbol or shield of Ed, or Stede, or Blackbeard. Not even as a symbol of piracy, but instead as the active embodiment of piracy – as something/someone who grows, changes, ends. Not as static or passive, but as better than when we first met him, as transformed as Buttons in his own way.
Izzy’s death sets up a possible revenge arc:
We know that everything in this show ties back to the main relationship between Ed and Stede. Izzy’s death is, I think, significant on its own, for him as a character – but it is also, by necessity, significant to Ed and Stede’s relationship. Namely – it sets up an interesting conflict for season 3 re: a potential revenge arc for Ed.
Now, clearly they’ve carefully ended season 2 on a relatively high note in case we don’t get a season 3. But we know they’re gonna be terrible at running an inn, and we know there’s unfinished business with Ricky. Ed’s current strategy of dealing with everything that’s happened seems to be “I don’t want to be a pirate, get me out of here” – which, while fair enough, won’t last, because that’s the nature of unfinished business. So, at some point, Ed and Stede are going to need to confront Ricky again. And, if the writers decide to lean into the revenge arc, I’d say the odds are pretty high that, when Ed lays eyes on Ricky again, we get a flashback to Izzy’s death.
And this sets us up for a pivotal, and necessary, moment in Ed’s character arc: when confronted with pain, loss, negative emotion in general – can Ed deal with it without losing himself? Ed needs a balance between the Kraken, Blackbeard, and Edward, and we see at the end of season 1 and beginning of season 2 how challenging that balance is for him to find, especially when confronted with loss or pain. We can see Ed working towards that balance when he’s interacting with Low – Low’s taunts don’t push Ed to violence, but instead get to Stede. But comparatively, Izzy’s loss is a much greater blow, and at some point, Ed is going to need to confront that.
Plus – we know the writing team are thinking of Izzy’s death at least partially in terms of the mentor/mentee arc, which often confronts the question of revenge – after the mentor’s death, the mentee is required to choose on their own how to go on, what kind of person they want to be. And this often requires a confrontation with both the mentor’s loss and a decision about how far they want to take their desire for revenge.
Why not a cooler death?
Okay — I get this criticism. I do. Izzy is an amazing fighter, we all love that about him. And you can keep most of the above symbolism and still have him die fighting two dozen British soldiers.
But — again — we are back to the root of this show: Ed and Stede.
Izzy has two deaths this season: one in the premiere, one in the finale. The first is Stede’s fantasy. Cool swordfight, and Stede triumphs, obviously — but the premise of the fight is that Izzy’s a great swordsman and Stede bests him because now Stede’s a great pirate. This is Stede’s ideal pirate fantasy.
But Izzy’s actual death is not like this. It is messy and inelegant and painful and no one gets any glory from it at all and Ed is crying with Izzy dying in his arms, and Stede wants to help, goes for bandages, but he doesn’t know what to do and it’s not enough anyways — And this is not a fantasy anymore. This is piracy, and this is the piracy that Ed wants to escape. And it’s important that Stede sees this, sees what Ed is done with.
And it’s also important that Stede tries to save Izzy. Izzy isn’t just a symbolic barrier between Stede and Ed anymore, to be sacrificed to Stede’s reunion fantasy. He’s his own person, with his own death, and Izzy has grown, yes, but so has Stede.
And by using Izzy’s death to make this point, we both get Stede learning the reality of piracy and growing beyond his fantasy, and the glorious fantasy fight kiss i love you reunion between Ed and Stede (if Ed and Stede had reunited by fighting off dozens of British soldiers, but Izzy had died doing the same, the dissonance would have messed with both the death and the reunion, because we the audience wouldn’t be able to distinguish between the fantasy and reality worlds). And getting both of these is the premise of the show — fantasy and reality both.
And sure — you can be mad that the show used Izzy in this way. But that is the show’s premise — everything is in service of the protagonists and their relationship. This is not a surprise— it’s been openly talked about since day 1.
You don’t have to like what the writers did. You don’t have to agree that it was the correct choice. But they have proven to us, time and time again over the last year, that they are self-aware and careful with this show that they know we love so much. So we absolutely owe it, to them and to ourselves, to ask why they made a choice that not everyone may agree with. What is the payoff? Why did they decide to do this thing that they knew would upset fans? Because we know it’s not that they hate us. So what is it? You don’t have to agree that the payoff is worth it. But do the writers, and the show, and yourself the favor of recognizing that there is a payoff here.

weird boy bruce...
Selina sees that Bruce will never love her, as he loves the reader.
"It's always been her, hasn't it?"
In some ways, Alfred reflected, your absence was something he should have planned for. But that didn't mean that it wasn't damned inconvenient when you weren't answering the phone.
Another day. Another case. Another injury. Another week another explosive fight with Selina. And Alfred was exhausted. When you were there, it was like having a buffer. You were good at managing Bruce. You understood him- you always had.
You'd told Alfred once that Bruce was just Jackie with fewer brain injuries and different hyper-fixations. And well- that had to have some ring of truth to it because when he compared the way you talked to them, the way you handled situations with them there were glaring similarities.
"Hey Alfred?" Dick said, looking at the picture he had stuck in a little lip in a spice cupboard- an old picture. A candid photo. One of the first times Bruce smiled after his parents died. He had grease- engine grease on his face and was laughing as he held a wrench out of your reach- hampering your efforts at breaking a rebuild record.
"Yes, Master Richard?"
"Why's Y/N not here anymore?"
"That's- well. That's not really my story to tell," Alfred sighed. "Sometimes being an adult is- hard."
"No it's not," Dick snorted, "You can stay up til whenever. No one makes you do math. AND you can eat cake WHENEVER YOU WANT."
"True," Alfred chuckled, "but sometimes when people grow up-"
"They do stupid things," Bruce said dropping into a chair and stifling a groan. Resisting the urge to look at his phone. To call you. He knows you're with Clark. Either at the cabin or in Metropolis. Not fighting. Just... being.
"So can't you just say sorry and eat pizza or something?" Dick asked.
Bruce snorted, "Sometimes it takes more than sorry and some Crazy bread to fix a mistake, Chum. And I don't think Y/N really wants to come back to Gotham. Not now-"
"Can't she just shoot Selina with a laser?" Dick whined.
Bruce rolled his eyes, "No killing, first of all. And second of all, no. Because it's not Selina's fault. It's mine. For a little while They did try to be friends." He knew she was there. That she was listening. And he knew it probably hurt. At least he hoped it did. Maybe it would buy him a couple weeks of relative quiet.

Navigating Through The Storm - An Update On My Journey
Hello , dear friends and followers,I hope this post finds you in moments of peace and pockets of joy, despite the complexities we all navigate through in our lives. It’s been a while since I've shared a detailed update with you, and I believe it’s important to keep the lines of communication open, honest, and heartfelt.
The past few years have been a rollercoaster, to say the least. I’ve encountered personal challenges that have significantly impacted my ability to create as freely and frequently as I used to, particularly with my comics and creative projects.Depression has been a relentless companion on this journey, making everyday tasks and creative endeavors much more difficult to navigate.
The weight of it often dims the vibrant colors of life, making even the simplest steps forward feel like monumental tasks.Adding to this, the financial strain of losing my full-time job two years ago has cast a long shadow over my life. The search for stable employment has been both exhausting and disheartening, leaving me to juggle financial uncertainty alongside my other challenges.
One of the most heart-wrenching aspects of these years has been witnessing the progression of my mom’s dementia. Her condition continues to deteriorate, and the emotional toll of watching a loved one fade away cannot be overstated. It's a type of pain that words can hardly capture.
Despite the darkness, there have been slivers of light and progress. I’ve been slowly, but surely, working on new things. The journey back to creativity isn’t a straightforward path; it’s filled with starts and stops, especially with chronic fatigue making every step feel like wading through molasses.
But I am moving, nonetheless.I’m in the process of relaunching my store, which is both exciting and daunting. It’s a tangible piece of my hope for the future, a hope that creativity will once again be a full-fledged beacon in my life. Moreover,
I've taken a significant step towards a brighter future by going back to college to pursue my bachelor's degree in graphic design. This decision is not just about career opportunities; it's about reigniting my passion and opening doors to new possibilities and dreams.
Yes, things are moving slowly, but they are moving. The creation of new comics and products is underway, though the pace might not be what I used to manage. This process is teaching me patience and the importance of being kind to myself, recognizing that progress, no matter how small, is still progress.
To you, my dear readers, your support and understanding mean the world to me. Knowing that you are there, even in silence, gives me strength. I am hopeful for what the future holds, for both my creative endeavors and personal growth.
Your patience and encouragement as I navigate this phase of my life are invaluable. As doors begin to crack open, and I peer through to the possibilities beyond, I am reminded that every step forward is a victory. And I am grateful for the chance to share this journey with you.

Got thinking today about the first pieces of queer media I experienced and how formative they were for me when I didn't even know queerness was a thing. Double-whammy of super religious family raised in very religious community and then ending up slap bang in the middle of section 28 in the UK, where it was illegal to teach kids anything about queerness.
But it was there. It found me, even when I didn't know I was looking for it.
First up was the double-header of To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar and Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
It was 1996/7, I was in my mid-teens. I was having a sleepover at a friend's house and she asked me if I wanted to see drag queens. I didn't know what they were, so I said yes. My wee little mind was blown. Until that point, the only time I had seen anything like it had been as a joke, especially Pantomime Dames.
I know that now these films are very dated, but then? When the only other mainstream films with vaguely trans-ish characters were things like Silence of the Lambs and The Crying Game? Having some of the biggest stars of their respective countries playing sympathetic, fun, silly, loving, happy drag queens and trans characters was so staggeringly new and out of left field. I didn't even know what I was feeling but those films curled up in my chest for reasons I couldn't even understand then.
A few years later, doing my English studies and one of the assigned texts was a book called Trumpet by Jackie Kay. I had never heard of it, had no idea what it was about going in, and again, eyes wide open after it. A trans man who kept his whole life a secret from everyone but his wife, only outed after his death. It's beautiful and poignant and wrenching as his kid tries to unravel and understand their father and who he was.
It's been two decades and I've seen a lot of queer media since then, but those three pieces were the foundation of me figuring things out and realising what I had been told all along wasn't compulsory or necessarily even right. It showed me a glimpse of something else, that maybe all the parts of me that I had been chipping away at, trying to make them fit, didn't need to be chipped away at all.
Took a lot longer for me to put all the pieces together consciously. The trauma and self-hate will do that to you. But I got there :) I got there in the end and I can look in the mirror like Miss Vida and smile like she did.
