Rindu

Saking rindunya aku, untuk sekedar mengirim pesan saja aku tak mampu. Takut, kalau-kalau aku tak lagi ada dalam memori hangatmu. Apalagi berharap aku masih ada dalam rencana panjang hidup yang kau susun. Tapi sungguh aku tak berbohong. Aku rindu..

Terkadang aku masih bertanya-tanya, masih berlakukah ucapanmu dulu yang mengatakan aku akan menjadi yang pertama dan terakhir. Sebab aku masih begitu. Hingga saat ini waktu terus berlalu dan jarak memisahkan aku dan kamu.

Ah, sudah lama sekali ya. Tak terasa hampir 8 tahun lebih kita tidak bertemu dan 5 tahun kita tak saling memberi kabar. Kira-kira kapan kita akan saling sapa lagi? Memutus kekosongan yang telah terbentang terlampau jauh. 

Rupanya dulu sewaktu masih bocah ingusan aku sudah jatuh cinta. Entah kok bisa, rasa ini masih tersimpan rapi hingga aku telah tumbuh sebesar ini. 

Asal kau tahu, aku gagal untuk menghapusmu. Sekali ku ingat, rindu itu kian menggebu. Bertanya-tanya bagaimana kiranya kabarmu disana? Adakah perempuan lain yang telah meluluhkan hatimu dan telah menjadi tempatmu berlabuh?

Only recently, producer Karim Morani and his daughters Zoa and Shaza were tested positive for Coronavirus after they concluded their trips from Sri Lanka and Rajasthan. Karim Morani and Shaza Morani were admitted to Nanavati Hospital while Zoa was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.

It looks like the dark days are over for the Morani sisters as they were discharged from the hospital yesterday. Taking to their social media, they were happy to announce that they are back home and have penned heartwarming notes for their close ones. The Moranis were waiting on Shaza’s second test to come in as negative after she tested negative for the first time. Take a look at their posts and it is filled with gratitude.

Daughter of producer Karim Morani and sister of actor Zoa, Shaza Morani has taken to her Instagram handle to pen a heartfelt note for everyone who helped her.

She wrote, ”I get so greatly affected by the erroneous ways of our human race, but ever so often I come across people who restore my faith. It’s 3am on Day 20 of me putting myself in quarantine (day 4 of complete isolation in Nanavati hospital). My lights are off and l’m all tucked in but can’t sleep. Weirdly it’s not of stress or depression. I have a smile on my face and felt inspired to write this.”

She thanked her parents and elder sister Zoa too. She further added, ”“Finally the biggest thank you… to the doctors, nurses, cleaners, pantry workers who have not seen their families for over a month, and are putting themselves at risk every day for me. Hope you get back to your families safely. I can only īmagīne the joy you will feel when you finally meet them. I wish that joy for you”. The post was captioned as, ”So happy to be home. Post Number Five: In Which We Take It Back Now, Ya'll.

Okay, so my last few posts have been serious.  Post Number Four was even a little angry.  That's not what I want to do, where I want to be, or how I want to live.  So, let's calm down. Mind you, I don't regret anything I've typed.  I'm sticking to it.  But, I also want to maybe bring a little joy to this blog instead of calling up the cavalry EVERY TIME.  So, here's a story.  It's from a bigger collection of stories, so the ending doesn't quite feel like an ending...but...I mean, oh well. This may or may not be based on a true story.  Your call. "The Antique Chest" It just appeared one day.  A gigantic, mysterious trunk, right in the middle of the girl's bedroom.  It was dark, heavy.  The sides were worn, with scuffs on the corners and scratches across the top and bottom.  She didn't know where it came from, but she liked to imagine it belonged to movie stars, to those women she often saw in the black and white films her grandmother watched.  To open it, you had to pull the rusted latches apart, a daunting task for the little girl's hands.  She plied and pulled and used all the force of her seven year old body to part the lid.  Eventually, dust and mites flew all around her, making it difficult for her see what was inside.  When the air cleared, she sat back, amazed. Inside, past the smell of mothballs and times long gone, laid a world of fantasy: horn-rimmed glasses, missing their lenses but complete with rhinestones; zebra print heels, two times her shoe size; a fur coat, missing a few patches here and there but elegant as ever; pearls longer than she was tall; and dress, after dress, after dress... She thumbed through its contents, delicately touching all the magical and mysterious items.  On the side of the trunk that held all the jewelry, there was also a mirror.  She stared dreamily at herself as she slipped a silk dress over her weathered school clothes.  Suddenly, she was transported, changed into a beautiful starlet, readying herself for the red carpet.  She hesitated when putting on the pearls.  She would have to wrap them multiple times; it would look like she was wearing multiple necklaces.  Is that what the actresses did?  Would she be mocked at the premiere? "That's okay," she thought, "I'm rich enough to wear as many necklaces as I want to." She put on the fur and grimaced.  She had a deep love for animals and just the thought of how this coat came to be...No.  No matter how famous she was, it just wouldn't be right.  She set the coat aside and moved onto the heels.  Surely they weren't from a real zebra, and besides, they were the only shoes in the box.  She had to put them on; movie stars don't go barefoot. Dressed in her new attire, she clumsily made her way down the stairs.  She took a step, paused, brought her other foot to meet the first, and started over again.  The paparazzi was waiting for her at the end.  The lights flashed spontaneously as she greeted her public.  They shouted her name, hoping to grab her attention, and she played her part, acting surprised, taken aback.   "Oh, this dress?" she said, "I only where this when I don't care what I look like!  Had I known there was going to be a crowd, I would've dressed up a little more!"  They laughed at her coy innocence and snapped photos of her gracious smile.  She made her way past the red carpet, blowing one last kiss to her adoring fans, and entered the theater. Her grandmother was waiting for her at the kitchen table. "Wow-ee," she exclaimed, "You're awfully dressed up for breakfast.  I take it your excited for the last day of school?" She teeter-tottered in her already painful heels and carefully shuffled towards the table.  The premiere would have to wait for now, she had other business to attend to.
