Sorry I've been a little absent for a bit. First I got sick which took me a while to get last and this past week I spent time travelling! Aka I was participating in a WWII reenactment which means no internet. It was such a blast as usual but man I'm tired lol. Here have some pics:
Back home now and exhausted but super eager to see what I've missed here for whumptober! I'm finally over my illness and my schedule is now gonna open up a bit which missed I have more time and energy for gifmaking and finally answering all of your lovely messages that have been waiting in my inbox (sorry for making y'all wait!) Also today was the last post I had prepped for whumptober so I'm gonna be behind now but I am not giving up!
Three members of the WWII Airborne Demonstration Team display the typical loadout of gear worn by US Paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions on D-Day.
The WWII ADT was one of several groups of airborne re-enactors that jumped in period-correct uniforms and gear, with authentic military canopy parachutes, from a fleet of C-47 ‘Dakotas’ onto original D-Day drop zones during the 75th anniversary of D-Day on June 6, 2019.
I'm still giggling over the fact that when I watched the trailer for the Six Triple Eight movie and I went "I know him!"
The him was in fact not a him. It is in fact this vehicle:
My friend owns it. It's called the Phantom. I see and ride in it all the time. Seeing it in the trailer got me all excited like I was seeing a celebrity lol.
Hi everyone, just opened my etsy to try and scrounge up some extra income; if you're a reenactor or historical militaria collector, check it out. Might have just the thing you need!

Hey guys! I might be pretty absent on here until the 18th because I've got a reenactment this weekend and I am woefully behind on prep. So I'm gonna be busy for the next 4 days and then without reliable wifi or electricity for the weekend.
I'll have all my whumptober gifsets queued and ready to go though! When I get back I'll answer messages and go through the tags to see what I've missed.

Happy Veteran's Day to all! Thank you to everyone who served!
Today I gave my talk on women in the military during WWII (with a focus on the Women's army Corps) to the residents of a local retirement community. I had such an amazing time speaking with them. They were a great audience, asked good questions and told us afterwards that found it all so interesting and that they learned a lot. Which I love! I loved talking to them all so much! And I met a lovely lady who served as a coder in D.C. in the WAVES during the war. Her memory isn't what it once was but she very proudly stated that she was in the WAVES. It was such an honor to get to speak to her. We all had such a great time that I was immediately invited back for next year!
