i’m sorry but i really don’t like wybie from the coraline movie……. his character is SUPPOSED to give her an endearing friend, and in another film he could be a great supporting character, but all it really does in practice is take away some of her strong independent actions from the source media

i know it’s a family movie (a dark one, but a family movie nonetheless), but an important plot point is also that coraline is so alone that she feels like she needs to escape or she’ll die of boredom and pre-pubescent frustration
