Xanthophile, a person who loves color yellow.

Yellow is a bright color that is often described as cheery and warm. For me, it represent happiness, it also means that you are a very communicative person that enjoys a challenge. Making friends is also not a problem. Getting to know people and talking to them is something that comes quite easy, and even you are shy, you are still communicative towards others. Yellow is the color which is the most luminous of all the colors that are present there in the spectrum. The human eye process yellow color the fastest in comparison to other colors. As I was earlier, it create a sense of happiness, cheerfulness and creativity among people. Sometimes, yellow color is related to caution and it can be related to use of yellow color in traffic lights and signals for cautioning people.

And also we can see in image that it was a kind of aesthetic. I'm also a type of people who loves the beauty of the art. As a aesthetic girl, For me it means concerned with beauty or the appreciation of beauty. Whenever I see a picture that is yellow and aesthetically vibes, I feel at peace.

Christmas was no sooner over than Valentine things began appearing in stores. I guess the good news is that the color red continues as a theme.

With love in the air, I thought about the different things people love that give us “-philes” – lovers of something.

Some people love a rainy day. They can pull up a blanket, grab a book and hot chocolate, and then hunker down with the pitter-pat on roofs, windows or sides of houses. They would be called a pluviophile. However, if you love thunder and lightning, you are totally different – that’s a ceraunophile.

If you also curl up with a purring cat on your rainy day, you are an ailurophile. But a dog lover is a cynophile.

Most nappers aren’t too picky about where they nap – sofa, recliner, floor etc. But for the person who just loves beds and prefers to be in a reclining position in a bed, this is a clinophile.

Probably the opposite of a clinophile would be a stegophile – a person who loves to climb. A stegophile will climb just for the fun of it, not only as an accomplishment.

Or maybe another opposite of a clinophile would be an ergophile. This person enjoys being productive. One might call it workaholic behavior, but an ergophile doesn’t see it that way.

Professional party goers could fall into the categories of the turophile (cheese plate lover) and oenophile (wine lover). Nothing wrong with that!

Collectors are –philes of the object they collect. Like a bibliophile loves and amasses books. One who can’t have enough teddy bears is an arctophile. A person who has yellow everywhere and loves it is a xanthophile.

If you are one who loves the out-of-doors, specifically trees and forests, then you are a dendrophile. But if you are a sun worshipper then a heliophile is what you are.

If it doesn’t matter, forest or sun, as long as you are near, in or in view of lakes – you are a limnophile.

You snowbirds head for the sun and warmth before the snow flies. Therefore you are definitely NOT a chionophile, a person who loves cold weather and snow.

With all of this you can most likely tell that I am not only a bibliophile, but also a logophile – a lover of words. I think I can blame Sister Helen Rose for that. In her senior English class she got me hooked on the entomology of words with Greek and Latin roots. Sure was helpful with SATs.

these two go hand in hand. i love the warm seventies vibe and vintage polaroids that still use sepia film gives me life. i feel like yellow and orange give off such a warm, cozy vibe that when you pair it with a picture of macrame it just clicks. i love looking at sunsets and sunflowers because they are the epitome of these -philes.
