Honestly we all players need to start a revolution like the mincrafters cause i will not fucking stand for everything just being deleted cause: "Oh We DoN't WaNnA uP kEeP oUr SeRvErS aNyMoRe If YoU cAn JuSt bUy ThIs NeW wOrSe GaMe." like theyre needs to be more consequenz then a littel only backlash for pulling a move like this. WE PAID FOR THE GAME; SO GIVE US THE FULL GAME or atleast open source it or let us host our own servers. like fuck it lets camp infront of headquartes or trow in some of their windows until we get back the games we paid for. And You know what why stop theyre lets force them to make all updates and versions of the games availabel if were at it. Yes im that passionate about this.

So here’s the game that’s for free on Xbox Live Gold this month. It’s a game entirely designed for blind players and it’s done VERY well. Meant to be played entirely based off sound.

I just saw that there is a rumor that starting on September 1, 2023...Microsoft is getting rid of XBox Live Gold and now calling it Game Pass Core.

So no more Games With Gold, but now if you are a “Core” member you get a small library of games to play. I guess that’s an improvement over GWG since it’s been so bad for a while now. (Especially after they stopped giving away backwards compatible games.)

But, Microsoft is STILL going to keep charging people to play premium games online. It’s so fucking greedy of them to keep doing this. It’s already known that Game Pass is making them over a billion dollars a year in profit, but that’s not enough for them. They still want more money. It’s fucking disgusting.

Microsoft is retiring Xbox Live Gold and replacing it with Xbox Game Pass Core, retaining the pricing, online multiplayer access, subscriber deals, and adding a subset of Game Pass titles.

Today, we’re continuing our commitment to give players more choice and value by introducing Xbox Game Pass Core, launching on September 14. Game Pass Core is the evolution of Xbox Live Gold. Game Pass Core will give players access to our advanced multiplayer network, a select collection of over 25 games to play with friends around the world, and exclusive member deals, all for $9.99 USD per month or $59.99 USD per year.

Games with Gold, the Xbox Live feature that gave away free games with the subscription, will be retired. Games with Gold has been a feature with diminished returns for years now so its retirement is not surprising.

The retirement of Xbox Live Gold marks the end of an era but pulling this service under the Game Pass umbrella makes Xbox subscription offerings much easier to understand.

They say when you're poor, everything costs more. And that was thrown in my face in many ways in 24 hours...

Yesterday, went to the store. Needed TP. 4 pack was basically $5 something. 12 pack was $11 something. WHAT?! You get 3x more TP for about double the price?

Then I thought about car insurance*, and if you prepay the whole year, instead of month to month, you save HUNDREDS. And if multiple accounts connected, THOUSANDS.

THEN I thought about xbox live gold, and how if you want just ONE MONTH it's $9.99 (and this is to just play games online), but a prepaid full year is $59.99.

Fuck-all-companies. Fuck capitalism. They clearly hate the poor!

Terror and puzzles highlight July 2023's Xbox Games with Gold

Microsoft has rolled over into a new month of freebies for Xbox Live subscribers, with Darkwood and When the Past was Around.

I won’t make it a secret that I prefer XBox over Playstation, but...I am no fanboy to the XBox brand. I won’t mindlessly defend them when I think they do something wrong...and today they did something wrong.

I can’t believe that not only did Microsoft get rid of giving away backwards compatible titles with Games With Gold, but they didn’t even try to replace them. They are only going to be giving away two little indie games for the month of October 2022.

Meanwhile, over on Playstation...they are giving away much better games and 3 of them opposed to Microsoft’s now 2.

This is terrible. At the very least, Microsoft should now be reducing the cost of Gold subscriptions since they have reduced the value of the service. (Actually the best thing they could do is to just get rid of Gold subs all together and make online play free for ALL games on XBox.)

Microsoft really dropped the ball on this. I have no regrets letting my Gold sub lapse back in July. (After years of being a part of the service.)

Xbox Live and gold is the biggest ripoff ever. So I share an account kind of with my friend so we both get Xbox live gold and game pass. He couldn't afford it this month, so it expired. Here's the weird part. He still had gold. He was buying Game Pass which included gold, so how Game Pass could expire but he still had gold is confusing. Here's where it's even more confusing. The games I bought, the games I fucking owned, in no form can I play online. However, the games I got for free, the games that are micro transitions, pay as you go, etc, I can play online. What the fuck. Seriously what the fuck. You're telling me I get more out of the game that I got for free than the ones I spent actual fucking cash on? Burn in hell microsoft. I hope Bill Gates dies now. I mean I always hoped he die, but now I hope a little faster. And I know he doesn't even have really any influence on Xbox and stuff, I just hope he dies. He's a bad mother fucker. This just made me more motivated.
