This is an opportunity to info dump! 🥳
Xiao and Hu Tao relationship dynamic ideas for Genshin Impact (platonic)
I'm writing a fic, either their first meeting or them just vibing I don't know yet. But I'll take thoughts on their relationships or ideas you wanna see on Ao3!
I just think their dynamic is sweet!
I'm including my current thoughts under the readmore. I didn't include anything with spoilers so it's safe. I'm caught up with the quests so send me anything I'm cool 💕
He entered one of her dreams and they went on a whirlwind adventure
Hu Tao shows him the crystalflies and they make hair clips that Xiao becomes obsessed with
She jokes about death and funerals and this humor rings close to a war vet so they make a lot of jokes together. Former general alatus has a support team
She's childish and lively even though she has seen dark stuff. Admirable.
Hu tao isn't afraid to toddle right over to him and poke him on the cheek but she's so professional towards him and addresses him properly. This confuses him and she just giggles and he cant help but smirk because she's bizarre but so kind
She brings out his inner child
They play in the mud. I just feel like Xiao enjoys it and Hu Tao would 100% roll with it
Hu tau makes ghosts jokes. Xiao knows a lot of ghosts. It works.
They've encountered people claiming all kinds of stuff about spirits and they've had to deal with the idiots together
Hu tau isn't afraid to hug goodbye. Xiao doesn't let a lot of people that close but he is terrible at saying no to the child
Xiao had forgotten that a 20 year old is not a child. He needs to interact with more people. Hu Tao is unbothered because it's fun to be doted on and the ancient little man is so strange and sad she can't help but make him part of her odd little family.
Hu tau sends him mail. She wants to know how he wants his funeral because he is always working. He finds it endearing. It's the only mail he gets
She sings her little hillichurl song and Xiao is amused by music bc that's his calm button
Hu tao admires him like a child meeting a story book hero and its not feared reverence but childish curiosity and awe. But unlike actual children she behaves like a grown up and is respectful . Mostly .
She has her hat and he has his mask and she likes to pretend it's their superhero masks like comic books. He doesn't understand this at all. She finds it hilarious. Her laughter is contagious
She sends him her poetry. He is an appreciative audience. Like a grumpy old man with a soft spot for his grandchild
Hu tao asks Xiao for relationship advice and he has no clue why but she loves his bs answers. He thinks she's dumb until she escalates the joke. He is so confused but is enjoying partaking in fun
She loves star gazing with him because he knows constellations.
Sometimes he helps her gather wood for coffins. Pole arm buddies
She calls his fangs little teefies and no one else has the audacity. He's amused greatly.
She gives him an excuse to chase after cool birds and he appreciates that she let's him hide his childishness behind her
Healing their inner child together.
They climb tall things together. And look down. Xiao loves forcing her to a hight that freaks her out and teleports her down. He likes being the strong protector and Hu Tao loves the adventure without being afraid
She delivers things to ganyu anonymously for him. Can't look too much like he cares
She finds him soft animals to pet
She brings him cool skulls. Cleaned. Ofc.
She plays pranks and tries to scare him. He thinks her attempts are funny. It's also how she knows something is seriously wrong bc when he gets spooked he needs help
They both value history. Xiao knows the sad dark reality, Hu Tao is fascinated by odd things, like old technology and means of living. They discuss anyway
She gives him space when he feels a lot of carma but doesn't actually run away. Just so he isn't worried.
She promises that the funeral parlor will cover a room at the hotel if he needs, but it's not necessary as they wouldn't charge him. Just to ease his anxiety.
Lots of haunted jokes
Xiao learns her little dances but she will never find out
She tells him about curre t books and convinces him to read. He never takes time off so she starts reading to him as he fights. He thinks it's hilarious and adorable of the smol child.

flowers and unplanned proposals
xiao x gn!reader
if someone gifts an adeptus with flowers, it means you are proposing to them, and if they take it, it means they accept the proposal. unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on who you ask), you weren’t aware of such a custom. or — xiao thinks you’re married, but you just thought flowers would look nice on him.
fluff. comedy-ish. accidental malewife acquisition. featuring reader being clueless, xiao being hopeless, and lumine and hu tao being your biggest supporters
Tumblr media
It started with a walk on the road as an acquaintance accompanied you.
There’d been a wild flower by the side, with white and lilac petals that you’d thought, rather presumptuously, would suit the dour faced adeptus beside you. So, you plucked it and impulsively handed it to him, a smile on your face and a shocked one on his.
His fingers closed around the flower’s stem, the stern lines of his face softening as he gazed at the tiny petals that glittered in the sun.
You’ve never been rid of him since.
Your friend Xiao could be described as protective at best and possessive at worst. It’s not a bad thing, of course! Caring for a friend is always a good thing in your books, but sometimes, you think he takes the word ‘caring’ to an almost extreme degree.
Take, for instance, now.
“Xiao?”
He hums from his spot on the sill of your window, not even sitting, no, he’s crouched on it, balanced on the thin ledge at the tips of his toes and keeping his eyes (which oddly glowed like a cat’s) peeled for any danger. Like this, he almost looks like a bird perched on a branch.
You let out an awkward laugh. “You know, I appreciate you doing this for me, keeping me safe and all, but I think I can spend the night on my own safely.”
His head whips to you so fast you almost feared he’d get neck cramps, an expression of surprise and… hurt? on his face.
“You… don’t want me here?”
You’ve never backtracked so fast in your life. “No! I mean, yes—but not in the way you’re thinking!”
He looks forlorn now, stepping down the windowsill and shoulders hunched in a similar manner to that of a cat pulling its ears down its head. “Is this what the Traveler meant by sleeping on the couch?”
You’re not sure what to do, but it seems like he wants to sleep on the couch? Puzzled, you smile encouragingly even though you don’t quite understand his words. “Er, if you want to sleep on the couch, you’re welcome to do so?”
His face falls.
“And, I don’t know, he just became all—sad? Just, I felt so bad for basically kicking him out of my room, and now that I’m thinking more on it, I should’ve just offered to let him sleep beside me. Like a, um, a sleepover!”
There’s a distinctly bashful look on your face and, oh god, you’re drawing little circles on the table with your finger, an almost dreamy glint in your eyes.
Sweet Jesus that doesn’t exist in this world, Lumine is going to barf.
She slams her hands on the table, startling you in the process as she leans down and says with an exasperated face, “Have you considered that maybe you actually like him and he—”
“What?!” you squawk, mouth open in disbelief and a mortified look contorting your features. “That’s—don’t say such things, Lumi!”
She drops back down her chair, leveling you with a look that basically said, are you for real right now?
“It’s written all over your face—”
You quickly slap both hands on your cheeks, turning your head away. “I don’t like him! How could I ever… he’s an adeptus and I…”
“And you made an adeptus sleep on your couch,” Lumine deadpans.
She can feel the way your face burned at the reminder. You slump over the table, burying your head in your arms and bemoaning your decision. “I didn’t mean to disrespect him…”
“Oh, I’m sure disrespect was the farthest thing you did to him,” she mutters beneath her breath. Broke his heart, shattered his hopes and dreams, devastated him—Lumine can name a few more.
But then, you suddenly straighten up, determination lining your face. There’s a look in your eyes that tells Lumine she should probably stop you from doing whatever idiotic thing—however in good faith it might be—that you’re about to do.
“I should give him some flowers as an apology. He always gets so… not exactly happy but—warm, that’s it. He feels warmer whenever I give him flowers.” You smile, reminiscing on whatever moments you had with him. You stand up, looking down at the empty plates all over the table before looking at her apologetically. “I’m sorry, could you foot the bill this time?”
Lumine sighs. She’s still got money from the last commission Ningguang made her do, so she supposes she can do it. Just this once. “Fine, but you’re paying for our next outing!”
You beam, thanking her before running to the nearest flower shop or wherever it is you’re going to be getting those flowers from.
“Make sure to let him sleep on your bed next time!” Lumine yells to your retreating back, ignoring the strange, almost scandalized, looks from nearby patrons.
You find him at your house, completely ignoring how strange it is that a friend has complete access to your house including a spare key and extra clothes on the closet just for him. It’s simply become the norm, is all. And he’s a good—you don’t quite know what to call him, roommate? you’ll settle for friend—friend, helping you with the chores and often accompanying you to the market when you need new groceries—but only during the early mornings, of course. You know how much he dislikes crowds.
“I’m home!”
The response comes immediate and, judging by the direction, it came from the kitchen, “Welcome home.”
The large bouquet of glaze lilies interspersed with roses and qingxin flowers is heavy on your arms as you walked to the kitchen. Xiao is there, a broom in hand which he sets aside once he sees you and what you’re carrying.
“Here!” You grin, extending the bouquet forward and into his arms.
He accepts it, a flush to his cheeks and looking distinctly flustered by the gift. “I… thank you.”
“It’s an apology.”
His eyes snap to yours, iridescent gold piercing through you. There’s something almost vulnerable in the way he’s gazing at you, hands tightening around the flowers.
You fiddle with your fingers. “Well, I wanted to say sorry for making you sleep on the couch. If you’d like, you can sleep beside me tonight.”
Something in him relaxes, tension bleeding out of his posture as he smiles, small and near unnoticeable to anyone who didn’t know him so well.
For some reason, the sight of it makes your heart leap.
Lumine’s words repeat in your mind.
Have you considered that maybe you actually like him?
No, you think with dread, absolutely not.
“Yes,” Hu Tao crows in delight, “You’re absolutely in love!”
“See, that’s what I tried to say yesterday, but nooo. Oh, Lumi, Xiao is just a friend,” Lumine grouches, imitating your voice and utterly failing because while she may be strong enough to fight monsters and gods, that girl has absolutely no talent when it comes to mimicking.
Your palms cover your face that feels warm to touch. “I do not sound like that. And it’s true, we really are just friends!”
“Of course, because friends do things like living together and sleeping on the same bed and holding hands—” You open your mouth to protest, but Hu Tao doesn’t let you interrupt, “—don’t deny it! I saw you last week near Liuli Pavilion, and he was holding your hand and carrying a bag of food!”
“He’s just really helpful! He’s an adeptus,” you argue, though it sounds weak even to your own ears.
“And do all adepti live with a human, do they sleep with them—”
“You make it sound so lewd, Lumi!”
“—do they hold their hands and go grocery shopping at five in the morning with them?” Lumine pierces you with those honey gold eyes of hers. “Did you know I barely have anything to do in the Adventurer’s Guild here in Liyue besides babysitting and errands because someone—namely, an adeptus who coincidentally goes by the name Xiao—keeps killing all the monsters within the area?”
Hu Tao cackles. “He always asks about you whenever I encounter him at Wuwang Hill.”
You level her with an incredulous look. “What were you even doing there?”
“Hiding bodies, duh!” At your horrified look, she winks. “Just kidding!”
You shake off Hu Tao’s laughter and pinch your lips together. “Look, it’s—we’re just friends. That’s all there is to it.”
Lumine huffs, “Yeah, sure, because friends like you two give each other flowers everyday. How does your house still have space in it for more?”
You would’ve refuted her words, would’ve argued that no, you don’t give each other flowers everyday, just on a regular basis—but Hu Tao’s sudden silence concerned you more than what Lumine said. The funeral director turns her head to you with wide eyes.
“You gave him flowers?” she asks, an odd tone to her voice.
Your brows furrow at her uncharacteristic seriousness. “Um, yes? I do it all the time.”
She leapt forward, grabbing your shoulders and lips twitching into something you could almost call glee. “And he accepted it?”
“Why wouldn’t he?”
Hu Tao lets go of your shoulders to tilt her head back and laugh. Not the nice little giggles she does after a successful prank, no, this is more manic. The kind that wouldn’t make you think, oh how sweet, but instead makes you think, oh this girl belongs in a facility.
Even Lumine seems confused by her reaction, joining you in watching her like she’s just grown two heads. Hu Tao takes one look at both of your expressions and dissolves into another fit of laughter.
“Oh, dear. And you don’t even know what it means!” she says in between laughs.
Lumine, having had enough of being in the dark, grabs Hu Tao’s face with both hands and forces her to look at her in the eye. “What does it mean?”
Hu Tao grins, gaze darting to you. “When you give an adeptus flowers, it means you’re proposing to them.”
You and Lumine gape, understanding dawning on your heads, though there’s horror on your part at what it could mean.
But Hu Tao doesn’t stop there, “And if they take it…”
You await her next words with bated breath, Lumine seemingly on the edge of her seat as well.
“…It means they accept your proposal.”
Lumine’s screech of delight at this newfound information drowns out the metaphorical sound of your world falling apart and being built anew.
You come home in a daze, eyes blankly staring ahead and unaware of your surroundings until you blink, and suddenly, you’re sitting at the dining table, a plate of steaming shrimp balls being placed in front of you.
Xiao crouches by your chair, examining your face with worried eyes. “Are you well?”
Your throat shrivels up. All the words and arguments you’d been planning to say earlier dying on your tongue. So, instead, you nod. He doesn’t outwardly look relieved, but the softness in his touch belies his care as he places a single stemmed qingxin flower on your palm.
It’s still fresh, you notice, dew gathering on the petals and the scent still present.
Xiao sits on the chair opposite yours, looking at anything and anywhere but your eyes. “I plucked it from the highest mountains of Jueyun Karst, blessed by Cloud Retainer and said to ward away unwanted dreams.”
You stare down at it, at the white petals that feel soft against the pads of your fingers, heart beating out of your chest and hands clammy and breaths labored, a pleasant twist to your gut as you realized that he’d gone out of his way to climb a mountain and have it blessed by an adeptus just to give it to you. There’s being friends, handing each other flowers they saw on the road or bought at a shop, and then, there’s this.
Your mouth feels dry, your chest feels full, and there’s something on the tip of your tongue begging to be let out.
“Xiao,” you start, finally gaining the courage to look up and meet his eyes. “What are we?”
His lips part, eyes widening the slightest amount that tells you he’s unsure what brought this question on and how to answer it.
You shake your head. “Never mind. Just tell me this—are we… engaged?”
At this, Xiao seems to relax. “No.”
You barely have the chance to feel a mix of relief and disappointment, though why you’d feel disappointment at having proof that you and Xiao really are just friends—
He smiles, a small one but no less brighter for it. “We are married, aren’t we?”
And oh.
Oh.
It’s not until now, with the confirmation of everything you dreaded (everything you’d hoped and wanted and yearned for desperately) that you realize how much you’ve longed for something more with him—how much you’ve longed for him.
“Xiao,” you say, eyes crinkling at the corners and cheeks aching with the intensity of your smile, “I love you.”
He startles, blinking up at you with wide eyes, red creeping up his cheeks, but before he can say anything you know he’s not quite prepared to say yet, you continue, still a little indignant at discovering you’d been married without a clue.
“But I demand a proper wedding ceremony!”

Xiao doesn't know he can get addicted to love.
How could he? It's not like you realise you're craving something when you don't have it. So the first time it's entirely by accident. It takes a lot for him to get like this, to get vulnerable enough. So much of your human lifespan that he feels indescribably guilty, actually, that you've wasted so many years on worrying at the stone wall of vulnerabilities he'd erected so many years ago.
But, diligently—and so humanly—you had.
And there is still so much of him that screams that he doesn't deserve it. That first time, he won't ever forget—bristling with karmic debt, feeling it ooze out of him like a shameful shadow. It rolled down his back in drops of sweat and beaded in his eyes like tears. With every wet, strangled gasp that left his throat it released into the air like a noxious gas, and he waited, body tensed like a loaded weapon, waited for it to kill you.
And it didn't. And it doesn't.
It feels impossible. Nothing should feel this good. It's slow and hard, in the way that it's deliberate. That's the thing that makes Xiao want to cry. You're deliberately touching him. On purpose, you love him.
Your hands are deliberate; there is no chance you'll forget it's his skin you're touching as you knead it between your fingers like fresh bread, fitting your fingers between his ribs, rubbing slow circles over his thighs, tracing the scars that welt up under the flesh. Your fingers paint fire over his body, and disrobing feels like simultaneously the most natural thing in the world, and also something that makes Xiao want to run and hide.
His own skin seems to scream at him. But you must only hear birds.
Soft kisses, dotted down his sternum as your hands skim over the scarred plane of his torso, thumbs circling. Can you feel the way his stomach tenses under the flex of your digits, the way his breath hitches? His ribs creak and expand with each shallow breath. It's dangerous, and he thinks—perhaps he could grow addicted to this.
How awful. To be addicted to something that will be gone in the blink of an eye.
The touches and the kisses, the little whispers are good, but being inside you is something almost indescribable. It's a slow, conscious effort, something almost akin to a play like in the theatre that Zhongli and Hu Tao frequent on their rare days off. There are roles and lines and actions to be memorised, and he does, opening you up—spit, fingers, the help of some slippery oil in a glass vial you produced from your pocket. This, too, is deliberate—the whole time is Xiao knowing what he's opening you up for, and being struck dumb all over again before he's even—
even—
"Are you ready?" you murmur, and Xiao's mouth works soundlessly for a moment because how could he be ready for something like this? He doesn't even know what it's going to feel like. How can he be ready for that?
But what he is ready to do is trust you. With his life, with everything. In so many ways, he's already given you everything. So he nods, trembly and short.
"Can I hear a yes?" Your hands stroke up and down his thighs, the sensitive skin on the inside, and Xiao huffs out a strangled breath.
"Yes," he grits out, teeth mashing together. If it's going to be anyone, it's going to be you. And you smile at him, all lips and no teeth, eyes crinkling in bows and Xiao swallows past the unidentifiable lump in his throat.
(It is only unidentifiable because he is a coward. He knows, deep down, exactly what it is).
You take him in your hand; he's already painfully hard, had been, really, since you started kissing. It's mortifying, this show of desire, but he's helpless before it as you move your hand slowly up and down. You position him between your legs, and he feels the soft, the hot and wet, spit and oil and something else, and it hits him—
He slides in. Xiao sees your thighs shake with the effort, his hands slipping under clumsily to grab at them to help; it feels like all his own strength as been sapped, and as soon as your body swallows the tip of his cock all he can do is slump back against the sweat-damp mattress, mouth open in a silent gasp before it releases in a high, broken whimper like shattered glass.
Arduously, you take him all. By the time you're practically sitting on him he's already an utter mess, squirming and hot under you, his hands scrabbling frantically for purchase on your thighs. His nails leave little railroads behind on your skin.
"Oh," he moans, head tipped back. "Oh—gods—"
"Xiao..." Your fingers trace over his; he can feel your own shaking. "You feel so good."
He blinks his eyes open, shocked to find them already blurry. "I—I do?" he rasps, pathetically, hating himself for it, but your radiant smile makes him ascend.
"Feel like I was made for you," you mumble, and Xiao's heart cracks because how can you, your mortal form, how can you be made for him—toxic and rotten and old, so old that he will outlive you by thousands of years? But then you smile weakly, and you say, "or maybe you were made for me," and that feels a lot more palatable. Xiao can believe quite readily that he was put on this earth for no other reason than to please you.
He rocks his hips up weakly, chasing more of that squeezing wet heat, that almost suffocating tightness, and your body jolts and groans. "S-sorry," he wheezes, but his body can't stop, he can't stop, every cell is on fire and you feel so so so good—
He comes far, far too quickly; it's basically over before it's even started, as he thrusts up into you with a shattered gasp. For a moment his head goes wonderfully, blissfully blank, and it feels like the first time in forever he's stopped thinking long enough to relax. He slumps against the mattress, breathing fast, and peers up at you with wide, apprehensive eyes.
"I'm sorry," he says, his voice strangled, weak, pathetic. Self-loathing rises up in a vice, twists up his insides. What a useless tool he proclaims to be. His fingers drop limply from your legs and twist up the bedsheets, avoiding your eye, despising himself. "I can keep going."
Your expression pinches—for the first time, Xiao realises with disconcertion. There had been no trace of disappointment when he'd failed to perform, only now that he offers himself up as a sacrificial lamb for your pleasure. The casual concern makes his head rush.
"It's okay," you say soothingly. "It's a lot. I mean—" You glance down for half a second, but Xiao catches it, follows your gaze. Release drips down from where he's still buried inside you, running languidly down the backs of your thighs. Xiao's face burns, but he's caught between mortification and sudden interest.
A piece of him is inside you. It makes his whole body shiver with satisfaction, like an itch that's finally been scratched. He feels the limp instrument between his legs swell, and it's with more conviction that he says this time, "I can keep going. Please—please allow me..."
Shivering, he reaches a hand up, smooths it up your stomach. Your skin is so smooth and hot, so untouched by the ugliness of war. He wonders how you can stand to look at him, but you can, you do, and he swallows hard as he sits up and presses a stinging kiss to the swell of flesh on the left of your chest. This close he feels your breath hitch.
"If—if you're sure." Your voice has become quiet, shaky. Unsure, for the first time.
"I am." He is so fucking sure—every part of him, apparently, because the heat between his legs is starting to get painful again. "C-can... could I...?"
In answer, you roll your hips against his, testing, slow. He feels like dick twitch inside you, and it shocks him like lightning. It's an odd sensation—a pleasurable burning, feeling momentarily so good that it hurts. Is this normal? He shudders, eyes struggling to focus; every small jolt of him inside you sends shivering bolts of lightning through his body, ones that have him whimpering and gasping much more than before.
It's slightly painful—and it's ridiculous, because Xiao has made friends with agony, had lived through so much of it that he'd come out the other side and regarded it almost as an old friend. But it's a different sort of pain than torture, than brutality, than mindless violence for the sake of it. This is a discomfort he would happily self-inflict.
"Xiao?" you ask, breathlessly. "Does it hurt?"
"Yes," he answers mindlessly, then rushes to correct himself. "Th-that is—it doesn't..." He gathers a sharp breath. "I do not... dislike it."
"Are you sure?"
In answer, he gathers his strength and flips the two of you over. You make a grunt of surprise as your back flops against the mattress, and it takes an awkward few moments of fumbling and sliding sweaty limbs to align yourselves correctly again. Xiao kneels between your legs, keeping himself lifted with his arms on either side of your head. Framing you, like you're a painting. You might as well be.
You stare up at him owlishly.
"I'm sure," he says, then fixes you with an attempt at a flat look. It would probably be more effective if he wasn't blushing madly. "I'm not made of glass, you know. It's far more likely that I'll hurt you rather than the other way around."
"You won't hurt me," you say with so much certainty that it throws him for a loop. Xiao swallows, eyes softening as he gazes down at you. You slip your hand between the both of you and wrap your fingers gently around his cock, and Xiao buries his head in the crook of your neck with a muffled moan. The sound that slips out of him is almost pained, wispy and high as you carefully manoeuvre him back to the heat between your legs.
Sliding back into you is what he imagines heaven must feel like, in the event a wretched creature like him could ever get there. And it burns, every clench and ridge catching on his cock as he pushes back in with a breathless noise, every cell in his body fizzing with life and fire.
"Hah—" The noise slips out like a punch. "Oh, oh..."
"Please." You lift your hips encouragingly, pressing the two of you flush together. "Please move."
The first few thrusts are awkward, but after he manages to pick out a steady sort of rhythm it's so easy to fall back into it. Xiao stares down at you, gobsmacked; is this what you saw, sitting on his waist, looking down? Your head tips back against the sheets, fingers clenching the bedsheets, your lips parted in a helpless little moan. He feels dazed, heavy-limbed: how did you not fall immediately and irrevocably in love?
Oh, he thinks distractedly. Maybe you—
You're getting closer, this time—he's not entirely sure how he can tell, but he just can. Your breathing picks up, gets higher and wispier until you're practically wheezing, and your arm flies up to dig your nails into the foam of hair at his nape, pinpricks of pain to match the sensitivity burning between his legs. Every push in and out of you makes his whole body shudder, makes small, pathetic sounds drift out of him almost absently. It's almost scary, how separated from his own body he feels.
It's something he can only compare to committing absolute violence. Leaving yourself behind like this, to do what must be done.
He has just enough wherewithal to bend his neck, mouthing at your chest, the soft skin under his lips feeling like a miracle, an offence to everything he knows. Your answering groan sends heat rushing between his legs. You're making—he it's because of him, and he's—he's making you feel—
His second orgasm doesn't so much as creep up on him as it does slam through him with barely a seconds' warning. Xiao practically chokes on his, his hips stuttering against yours as his cock twitches inside you, again, and it's so much, too much, that his whole body lights on fire with the oversensitivity. Tears swarm his eyes as he clenches them shut, pressing hard against your collarbone before he slumps, practically boneless.
He can feel you breathing beneath him. Certainly you didn't finish, if the way you're swallowing and breathing hard is any indication. Shame fills him all over again, as soon as the feverish heat retreats. He lifts his head groggily and looks up at you, dread pooling in his stomach—but again, there is no disdain in your expression. Your eyes are wide, mouth parted, but when he locks eyes with you all you do is smile weakly and shrug, a gesture that even Xiao understands to mean it's okay.
Still. It isn't. Not to him.
Through the foggy haze that has settled over his brain, he manages to dredge up two words. Hoarsely, whispered into your skin: "One more."
"W-what?" There's barely time for the shock to slip off your face before Xiao pushes himself up on trembling arms. "Xiao, you—oh!"
The noise you make when he presses his hips flush against you is almost enough to have his cock swelling with interest again. "Wait," you whine, even as your hips arch into him. "Xiao, it's too—you m-must be—"
"I can take it," he grits out, unsure if it's true but beyond willing to find out. He blinks down at you with wet eyes, mouth agape, not thinking to close it, not thinking about whether he looks ridiculous, wanton, or any thousand other things. Only thinking that he wants you, and wants you to feel good. "Please..."
The feeling that rips through him when he rolls his hips against yours almost makes him shriek. It's so much, and a loud buzzing fills his ears as his jaw locks. It needles at him, his skin screaming as he grinds against you, barely thrusting really, just trying to ease himself back into the feeling again. Your expression pinches.
Pleasure pricks through the pain. Xiao groans, effectively brainless, and only one thought drives him forward. He wants to make you come. He wants to see you finish, feel it around him, so he moves his hips again, again, relentlessly, through the overstimulation, through the waves of pleasure that roll over him helplessly. Tears swell up against and spill, and every time he rocks into you he makes a sound like he's been shot through; whimpery and high, wet and pathetic.
A film slides over Xiao's brain. All he can hear is your moans, fast and urgent, and all he can feel is you practically pulsing around him. Nothing should feel this much, he thinks senselessly, and it's only when you put a hand on his face desperately that he realises he's saying all of this aloud, mindless babbling under his breath, a constant stream of consciousness like he'd lost the ability to shut his mouth.
Maybe he has, he thinks distantly, and is that such a bad thing? How can it be a bad thing to be mindless in front of you, to only think about this, it's so good, it hurts but it's so good, he loves it, he loves you—
Still speaking aloud; he can tell by the way your expression slackens, your lip trembles, and you shakily cup his face to bring his lips to yours. He's barely conscious enough to reciprocate, his whole body shuddering with every thrust, and he can feel the quivering vibrations of the both of you moaning into each other's mouths, feel the wetness of saliva and tears, his tears, when was the last time he cried? He'd cry for you, he thinks senselessly. You're worth crying for.
"Please," he begs, not necessarily knowing what he's pleading for anymore. "Please, please, please—"
You tighten around him, and it makes his voice cut out with the noise it makes, and even as he watches through the blurry wet haze of his tears he feels and sees you come undone beneath him, your back arching up to meet him as though you two could possibly get any closer. Your broken-off moans and breathy gasps send Xiao over the edge again with a dry, broken sob.
He's so, so sensitive that even pulling out of you makes him wince and shudder all over again. He watches, dazed, as his own release drips out of you, thankful absently that you thought to put towels down before—before.
You're gasping, hands on his face, a frantic look on your face. "Xiao? Hey. You okay?"
I'm fine, Xiao tries to say, but all that comes out is a breathy whimper. He's still sort of crying, he realises, bringing up a trembling back to touch his wet cheeks. You thumb at his face, the touch almost too much—he wants to curl into his clothes, but of course he has no clothes because he's naked, both of you are—
His face burns with sudden shame. He came three times.
"Did I make you feel good?" he whispers, softly, wide-eyed. Your expression trembles, melts into a soft smile that feels like the closest thing to sedation Xiao can handle.
"So, so good," you assure him, and Xiao melts into your arms with a deep sigh. He's still shaking like a baby bird, but you hold him in your warm arms, as his tears turn to sniffles and then wet, quivering breaths. "You pushed yourself too far, though," you tell him, and Xiao curls up, blanching at any semblance of rejection. "I'm not mad," you hasten to assure him. "Far, far from it. Just... go easier on yourself, next time, please. I care about you. I don't want you to hurt yourself for my sake."
Reality returns in doses. Some semblance of awareness trickles back to Xiao the longer you talk. "I understand," he whispers. "I liked it. It was—perhaps more i-intense than I anticipated, but I liked it. I liked... doing it for you." He blushes.
You press a soft kiss to his forehead. "You're so sweet, Xiao. We'll talk about it more tomorrow, okay?"
He nods tiredly. That sounds agreeable. Tomorrow exists in some far-off dreamland. For now, he can curl up to your side as you carefully manoeuvre the towels off the bed so you can sleep on clean, dry sheets. Xiao clings to you, snuffling into your side like you'll disappear if he lets you go, and you card your fingers through his sweat-damp hair.
It should be horribly embarrassing. But it isn't. It just isn't. Nothing is the way it should be, when it comes to you. Not pain, or pleasure, or any of the things he usually feels. He supposes it's a byproduct of never being loved.
But he loves you. And—
"I love you, Xiao," you murmur against his hair, and if he had any tears left he's sure they'd be welling up in his eyes. As it is, his fingers merely tighten their hold on your waist. "You said it earlier—I don't know if—well. I just wanted to say it. I love you, and you did so, so well for me. Now go to sleep."
Xiao thinks he'd die if you asked him to.
But you don't. You just ask him to sleep.
So he does.

small rant. it drives me crazy that the fandom is overall fine with headcanoning Zhongli & Xiao and Zhongli & Hu Tao as a parent/child dynamic but when it's about Neuvilette and Furina suddenly it's misogynistic and diminishes Furina as a character💀 like HOW?! they're literally Zhongli & Hu Tao but in different color yet it's "infantilization" when it comes to Furina but totally fine with Hu Tao. and you can't even argue with these people because they will just label you as sexist for having a different interpretation.

yelan — 32. a family friend of y/n’s and a big sister figure. graduated college with a degree in criminology, only to never use it and instead spend most of her time on cruises. perfectly happy being single for the rest of her life. doesn’t mind hookups now and then. the exact definition of that one rich asian aunt. likes to tease y/n about her crush on zhongli.

Are you still looking for reasons to yap about Zhongli? Because I would love to hear your thoughts on his relationship with Hu Tao ;w;
I think my favorite thing about Hu Tao and Zhongli is that they're both literally insane. Psychological terrors.
Hu Tao will put a whoopee cushion on your chair and laugh when you sit on it. Zhongli will gaslight you into believing the whoopee cushion never existed and that you just sat and jumped up all on your own.
Hu Tao is deliberate and overt with her pranks while Zhongli is a subtle and mischievous trickster. They both just terrorize the general populace. You talk to them for longer than 10 minutes and you start hearing voices. Zhongli just gets away with it because he has the elegance and aura of a god.
Like Hu Tao will tease Furina by telling scary stories or tales of ghosts while Zhongli would probably tease her by calling her as 'lovely as goddess' or 'a lady blessed by gods'.
People always say Zhongli is cold but he's just a silly little liar like 50% of the time. Lying about being in the chasm, tricked some guy out of two hand-painted fans, led these two fake archeologists on a quest just to deny them of their dreams at the last moment, acting like he's never met the adepti, ignoring venti at the restaurant, hiding from neuvillette, lying to xiao about sesame oil and teasing him at the restaurant like the list goes on, faking his fucking death like he is just a fucking terror. No wonder he and Hu Tao get along well.
Speaking of their dynamic I think they play off each other very nicely. Before Hu Tao was released it was suggested that Hu Tao teases Zhongli endlessly to the point of exasperation but it seems like their teasing is mutual and Zhongli is just being an overdramatic tsundere (like always). Hu Tao makes fun of him at Lantern Rite but he just teases her right back. I imagine Hu Tao is constantly trying to get him to admit or confess to being an adeptus and he always manages to one up her at the last second to avoid saying anything.
I believe the two of them would make perfect partners in any business. Imagine Hu Tao and Zhongli as detectives lol, Hu Tao would chase down the suspect having figured out the case within 5 minutes while Zhongli would already be there waiting for Hu Tao to chase the suspect down cause he figured it out after 30 seconds. They would barely listen to the authorities and do whatever they wanted as long as it wasn't against the law.
But then again they have this really good balance. Hu Tao is a fire force of nature, energetic, playful and proud. But she has a very thoughtful side to her, she's a sharp thinker, with a love for poetry, music, and appreciation for life. Zhongli is much the same. He is thoughtful and caring, kind with a love for the arts, but he is rather mischievous, and a little manipulative with a taste for having fun in his own way. They are tricksters with a love for life and the arts just two very different auras. In many ways I would say they are more alike than different
They even work in gameplay! Double hydro Hu Tao aka Hu Tao, Xingqiu, Yelan and Zhongli is probably my strongest and most optimized team for the Spiral Abyss. I use them like every round and it works.
Unpopular opinion I guess but I have never really cared for the headcanon of Hu Tao as Zhongli's daughter. Not so much as I dislike it but I greatly prefer the crazy boss and even crazier secretary/employee dynamic. No but really the weirdo leader and their insane but incredibly loyal underling is like one of my favorite tropes. I just wouldn't alter anything about their relationship.
Besides if I were to assign Hu Tao and Zhongli a familial bond it would be siblings with a large age gap. Like siblings that are 10+ years apart so the eldest practically helps raise the younger one but it’s not like they are the parent (they have parents) but rather the eldest is a weird person who takes care of the youngest but also makes fun of them within the same minute.
Part of the reason I love Zhongli and Hu Tao is how much trust is in their relationship. Hu Tao states in her story lines that she trusts Zhongli more than anything and considering Zhongli’s influence in the parlor and how he works with Baizhu, trains the other workers and is in charge of all adepti related matters it is safe to say he has a lot of input even though he is just an employee. Xianyun states it is odd for Rex Lapis to work under her but she won’t go against his wishes and that she must be respectable. So even though Zhongl may suggest he is tired of her, for a 6000 year old deity to pick a job and stick with it it must be a damn good job.
And their interactions are the best, in the 2022 Lantern Rite when Hu Tao told Zhongli to pick her up after she hung out with Zhongli or the fact it seems they always spend Lantern Rite together which is just the best. Or the poetry event where she kept bugging him to be a better judge but Zhongli was too busy praising everybody.
They may not ever say how much they care about each other but the way Hu Tao checks on Zhongli after meeting Furina because she was worried about him just awww. Zhongli is a dusty old encyclopedia man but he is still her beloved consultant who she cares about. Hu Tao may be a child he cannot deal with but he always looks out for her.
Hu Tao and Zhongli are always competing for the top spot in my favorite Zhongli dynamics they are both two characters I really like and I like whenever they are together even more.

genshin x reader smaus i recommend <3
Tumblr media
i think it’s about time i did this in case anyone asked me about smaus i am interested in or if you are looking for something to read:] i will be listing their titles, summary, and what i like! these are just the ones i’ve seen (or remembered).
Tumblr media
good 4 u by @ilkuni — a xiao smau
lesson learned! never challenge hu tao when you’re drunk bc you’ll just lose and now you have to post a thread of all your exes as songs from olivia rodrigo’s hit debut album sour … or: “yn desperate much!” “yn still loves xiao? yikes! doesnt he already have someone new?” “stop ruining my relationship u bitch!”
i’m sure we all know this one by now HAHA rosie is one of the genshin smau writers i have seen that’s been here as long as me by now
i actually was really interested in this one because it was an exes to lovers, and you all know how it’s one of my favorite tropes hehe
it was very interesting because there was foreshadowing here and there and the plot kept progressing without being confusing
10 things i hate about you by @x-xxiaos — a xiao smau
after breaking up with his since-high school-girlfriend, xiao made a long list of things he should and hated her for, so he won’t fall for her again in case name tries to enter his life once again. for five long years, xiao did a great job at keeping name off of his mind, but what would he do if she suddenly shows up at his door, asking him to work with her?
i’ve actually never watched our beloved summer where this is based off of, i first thought it was the movie because i remember there was one like that
this is also an exes to lover so i really loved it HAHAHA eyn update when /lh
i like how xiao kept deflecting it and yn kept going but this is for my job i don’t like you anymore, the dynamic was fun
i think he knows by @daixuki — a xiao smau
you’ve liked him since the first time you saw him perform in your school’s battle of the bands. so you do what any normal girl with a crush does: send him cheesy pick-up lines through a dummy account. he never replies. until now.
funny how angel told me she wanted to write a smau bc of me and my anons and now she’s writing one t_t so YAY
this is the first one here that’s not an exes to lovers but a my friend likes you but you don’t know so i’m going to help her secretly
it also gives space for angst because dayum what if xiao is conflicted i love it
someone you like by @rrinsluvr — a xiao smau
even after two years, she still hasn’t moved on. all hope was lost until he sent her a text.
this one is during the pandemic so it makes sense why it’s a smau right HAHA unlike mine where they literally meet each other and still text t__t nothing i just found it adorable that way
the way there’s a kazuha leading man vibes here too makes me ueue because i love kaed
i think xiao is on point here or it’s just me but i really love the way he’s portrayed here
still have my heart by @luvinelysia — a kazuha smau
IN WHICH, kazuha’s friend gets into a fight with one of your friends OR IN WHICH, two exes meet due to being involved in a fight with their friends
right off the bat, yessss bc i have a cameo HAHA but my title won for this so you guys should check this out because there’s conflict here OH and this is an exes to lovers
also ely shows us salty kazuha here so if you like that then feel free to read this one because i actually like salty kaed
and that there’s a side of a xiao x reader here so <3 ok i forgot this was a kazuha smau ely really needs to make xiao stop flirting with me
21 days by @v3nicee — a childe smau
after being busy with their priorities, ajax and [y/n]’s relationship went downhill. 4 years after that incident happened their path crossed again, and now ajax pleaded for 21 days to win her back.
exes to lovers world domination because this is an exes to lovers smau HAHAHA one of the best tropes i swear
i like how childe is portrayed in this one and that he actually makes time for yn instead of being an ass and not trying to win her back
oh and the whole aether as the second lead part makes me cry because i am weak i love my twins yall i hope that we don’t keep friendzoning him..
lowkey by @ilkuni — an ayato smau
it was only recently you found out kamisato ayaka was, in fact, not an only child after all! seeing ayato for the first time gave you the severest case of the butterflies but according to ayaka, he’s off limits, especially to you as her most treasured friend. well, what she doesn’t know won’t hurt, right?
when rosie dropped this i was excited because i have never seen anyone attempting to make an ayato smau, partially me as well with a long fic because i’m not sure i’ll be able to play him out
the plot sounded good because i love those lowkey secret relationships IN FICS not irl i can’t do that sorry i’m loud irl i’d blabber my mouth
not the way i was caught in a chokehold with the recent updates of chapters 20 and beyond because of the arranged marriage
raised the bar by @skaramush — a scaramouche smau
yn thought she finally escaped the perpetual doom of placing 2nd after she graduated high school. but alas! the leaderboard has her name printed under another’s! a name she thought she’d never get to see again. better luck next time, i guess.
i haven't actually caught up with the updates in a while but i like the academic rivals to lovers trope
one of the lines i liked was when kuni found out yn was studying for a long time?
i alike that kuni isn't too offputting or too mean which many portray him to be as
f#cking bastard by @scarahours — a scramouche smau
getting off wasted at a party wouldn’t hurt right? that’s what college life is for - you study, eat, sleep and repeat. probably do something batshit once or twice. but who would ever know, it wouldn’t hurt right? so why do you suddenly find the social reject’s lips pressed against yours?
i don't think i've caught up with this one in a while but i like that diluc is portrayed as the ex because i haven't seen that yet
i like that the plot is unpredictable because i really didn't expect kuni knows yn
oh i also like that even if diluc chased after yn, she didn't agree HAHA
Tumblr media
i think that's really all there is to this post! i might add in a few more smaus should i ever find some more:]

The Truth (part two)
uhhhh, kinda late as I did lotsa procrastinating, but better late than never ig? ^^”
since I did Mondstadt first, I’m just gonna continue chronologically, and I think I’ll keep the categories of people that I did in part one, since it makes structuring and all that a lot easier!
Liyue
alright, starting off, the ones who would notice that you’re the real creator: Ninguan, Yelan, Zhongli, (Bonus: Madame Ping)
for Zhongli I think it’d be the same as with Venti, meaning he instantly notices that you aren’t quite what you seem to be (or rather try to be). But even still with the knowledge of that, he’d take quite a long time to figure out who you actually are. Before stepping down as archon, he was the god of contracts and by extension law, so he tends to somewhat look at the world in black and white, which means that since there already is a celebrated divine creator, you couldn’t possibly be another (or that the current one is the fake). After stepping down he just tries to not be involved with anything too related to the gods, so while he doesn’t stop worshipping the divine creator, he just has less to do with it in a more general sense
Ninguan and Yelan are very involved with the laws and government of Liyue, so they immediately suspect something when you bring them the ‘free travel pass’ you got from Impostor-chan. Along with that they’re both really observant and probably kept an eye on you, which leads to them eventually finding out.
Bonus: Madam Ping (bc i like her) She would definetly know the truth the moment she saw you. How? No idea, she just does. While she is a bit kinder to you, she still treats you like a normal human being, probably gave you a Serenitea Pot for safer housing whilke you travel. I also think she would find it extremely funny to watch Zhongli stumble around the truth, especially since he’d be one of the later ones to realise.
next up, the ones who would think something is suspicious, but don’t realise the exact truth or just don’t have enough evidence: Hu Tao, Shenhe, Yanfei, Xinqiu
Hu Tao and Shenhe are a bit hard to decide which category they go into, since they’d know something is up but they don’t really care too much for different reasons. Hu Tao mostly notices that there are constantly happy spirits floating around you, but as long as they’re not causing trouble she lets it go. Shenhe meanwhile just isn’t around civilisation and humans too often, so even if you’re somewhat strange it doesn’t faze her
Yanfei seems like she kinda knows what’s up, but is in denial. She believes in law and honesty, so there is no way the divine creator would lie to them! And if she was worshipping a ‘false god’ all this time, that would mean she broke so many laws, which just can’t be the truth!
Xinqiu would probably also be borderline too devoted, but at the same time he’s smart, so he probably questions anything suspicous about you. He’s read so many books about you and your myths, that he can easily see the similarities, though unfortunately (for him) he doesn’t have anything too concrete. If only he could get actual proof instead of just constant theories and ‘coincidences’, maybe then he could worship the ‘real you’
the ones who are too devoted to question the ‘divine ruler’ would be: Chongyun, Ganyu, Keqing, Xiao
Both Keqing and Xiao are already pretty obvious with their worship of Morax in canon. Now multiply that by a lot, and you have two people who would do and believe anything their ‘creator’ wants them to. They might either harbour a bit of jealousy that the divine creator chose you over their devoted acolytes, or they will kind of worship you by association. Maybe a bit of both depending on the day
Chongyun is somewhat similar to Barbara. His family is very spiritual and gives off a pretty religious vibe, so it’s basically impossible for him to question the legitimacy of Impostor-chan. Him being completely oblivious to you also makes for a fun dynamic with Xinqiu, who constantly tries to nudge him towards the truth but keeps on failing
Ganyu, while not as devoted at Keqing and Xiao or Chongyun, is just devoted enough to not notices anything off. That, and she is constantly busy, so there is not much time to think too much about you
and lastly, the ones who either don’t care or don’t really seem religious are: Beidou, Qiqi, Xianling, Xinyan, Yun Jin
Beidou and Xinyan are very free-spirited, and tend to go against social norms. They don’t really care if you’re kinda weird sometimes, whether they have suspicions on the actual truth or not, because they see you more as just another person who enjoys freedom and expression of self
Xianling and Yun Jin are both very friendly and passionate people. Similar to Beidou and Xinyan they mostly think of you as a new friend with whomst they can share their passions with! Especially since you travel a lot, Xianling will ask you about exotic food while Yun Jin wants to know about the dance and music traditions you’ve encountered
Qiqi is kinda obvious I think. Maybe back when she was human she worshipped the divine creator, but since her ressurection she often forgets a lot of things. Even so, she is happy that each time you meet her, she can somehow remember you! You always try to help her remember what she’s supposed to be doing at the moment as well, which for some reason is so much easier when you’re around
(oh wow, I kinda wrote a lot more than I thought I would. Can you tell that Liyue is my favourite reagion xd? I think I might do another special part for the vaious non-playable characters that are cool, like Osial, Azdaha or the Cloud Retainer. Anyways, hope y’all liked this part, and I’ll try to keep writing as best as I can!)
(also, special thanks to the anon who wrote that Albedo drabble! it kinda gave me the motivation to finally continue with this au :D)

can i ask why you don't like xingyun? /gen not a shipper myself but i'm just curious since a lot of chongyun lovers love that ship, i've never seen anyone NOT like it
rant warning by the way, I accidentally got more and more annoyed writing this 😬
im gonna be honest the number one reason is because i see it everywhere
the first effect of this is that content depicting xingqiu and chongyun in a nonromantic manner get tagged as xing/yun, which is annoying to me. you can draw 2 characters together in a nonromantic manner and you don't have to tag the ship guys. it's real it's called being friends. the second effect is that there's never any content with chongyun and Other Characters. people are so hung up on him and xingqiu that chongyun almost never exists without xingqiu. like you might notice i have a tag for chongyun and hu tao (mostly platonic) stuff except that there are only 7-8 posts tagged with that, because although the "exorcist and girl who can see ghosts" dynamic would be so cool, nobody seems to think abt that bc almost everything with chongyun includes xingqiu. this also goes for chongyun and xiangling (who canonically makes him his cooling popsicles) and like random other characters whom he Could interact with and be friends with (ayaka and him is a crack friendship i talked about once, and ofc chongyun and xiao). i hate it. xingqiu got his mr worldwide arc with venti and albedo please depict chongyun alone with other friends (it literally doesn't even have to be romantic). of course, this might just be a separate problem that I'm conflating with the ship, but it annoys me. i'm not focusing on xingqiu's side because although fan content for like idk him and yun jin? him and hu tao? albedo? is also super rare, at least that stuff exists in canon.
the second reason is because xingqiu's prankster attitude towards chongyun annoys me
yeah i love my little shit son but idk, it's just annoying when people make him feed chongyun spicy food, play pranks on him that cost chongyun Something (losing face, wasted time, frustration) idk. i guess i don't like that his condition isn't taken seriously. i don't think it's bad to have friends who pull your leg but at least not in a malicious way? like iirc he's implied to have triggered chongyun's yang energy overflows at least a couple times, and it's like . why. why is it played for jokes the kid literally passes out. "(He) needs more practice. Especially… with eating spicy food, haha." bro please do not !! don't trigger his condition just for kicks! xingqiu's other pranks also annoy me, given that i hate being tricked, so some of this might be projection or smth idk, but like idk you can give him good suggestions for where to demon hunt instead of making up shit and then going after him to make up for any costs. it's just annoying i think chongyun gets annoyed but then later forgives him, as friends are, but i cannot imagine them getting together like this. unless it's toxic idk . if they're friends i can give a pass to the pranks and stuff but in a romantic relationship i don't think i could see this kind of dynamic being a good one

Hello hello! ✨🪭
Calling all Genshin Impact dead-dovers to the front! I am a 21 year old writer who needs 18+ fellow GI fans to roleplay with. :]
I’m a multishipper, so that means I ship quite literally almost and every ship there is to be shipped. Some I don’t vibe with, but the pool is pretty big. I hope for this to reach a potential future roleplay partner. I want to explore deeper topics that don’t very much get touched in the roleplay community - or rather, have plots that have sustenance. Depth and angst, turmoil and drama. But I do enjoy the occasional light hearted roleplay. Of course. :)
I’m a writer that is freshly graduated from college so my free time has widened and I’m looking to fill those gaps in with some friends to make and partners to keep. I’m a switch (90% sub leaning, but top and bottom is pretty vers, power bottom, service top etc), so this usually transfers to my characters/muses as well. Not usually in personality, just dynamic when it comes down to it. I’m nonbinary, so I usually play androgynous characters, or I headcanon their genders/sexuality to be different. (I.E, Cyno is FTM trans). So I humbly ask for partners of every race, color and gender. 🤲🙏🏽 Just please be 18+!
I am looking to play…
My Fav muses!
Cyno, Kazuha, Xiao, Lyney/Freminet
But I can also play…
Hu Tao, Ayaka, Childe, Bennett, Ganyu, Heizou, Venti…off the top of my head. List goes much on.
Though I’m less likely to muse Wriothesley, Alhaitham, Clorinde, Dehya, Xingqiu and some others.
If you mainly muse Zhongli, Tighnari, Yelan, Wriothesley, or Scaramouche, definitely like. 🎀
My fav dead dover tropes are psychological torture, stalking(+++), yandere, mutual obsession/toxic codependency, anything relating to pregnancy(+++++), incest, cnc. But I’m pretty limitless (still got ‘em, but scarce).
I hope this reaches someone. I need the Genshin itch to be scratched. Also I need to project onto my characters (Kazuha may want to follow someone..) Like this and I’ll reach out! I primarily roleplay on discord, so we can build a server and hopefully match eachother’s energy, gush about our chars and share art! My writing literacy is fluid, pretty literate to novella. You don’t have to come with plots. :] We can create some! I like sharing ideas.
Wlw, mlm, and nbla absolutely come forth too. I need some ccxcc goodness of all types.
Thanks for reading this long ad! Bye!
Leave a like, and anon will get back to you!

Speaking of Furina, I'm hoping for a kit involving dynamic Max HP buffs. (No spoilers or leaks plz.)
Reasoning as follows:
Considering prior Archons and their "universal support" archetypes, some amount of off-field Hydro application is practically a given. (Probably achieved with her Skill, like Raiden and Nahida, to make Golden Troupe her BiS.)
But also, part of what makes most Archons "worthwhile pulls" is that they change how you play,¹ enabling entirely new team compositions. Furina can't just be a better Yelan+Xingqiu; the niche is already well serviced.
Before 3.0, Hydro resonance increased incoming Healing.² As of 3.0, Hydro resonance increased Max HP instead.
By this point we'd gotten Ayato and Yelan, both establishing a max-HP-scaling theme. Candace and Nilou have continued the trend.
So with that in mind, I think there's a chance (and hope!) that the novel part of Furina's kit centres around raising team Max HP.
Hypothetically:
When Furina uses her burst, she deals AoE Hydro damage and grants all nearby party members the Joie de Vivre state, then restores a certain amount of HP to each character.
Joie de Vivre:
- Max HP is increased.
- Incoming Healing is increased.
- Increased Interruption Resistance, with additional increases when the active character's HP is above their original HP.
- Whenever a character's HP increases or decreases, Joie de Vivre procs deals AoE Hydro damage that counts as Elemental Skill damage. (Once per 0.8s.)
- When the state ends, excess HP is rounded down.
Extremely notional numbers:
HP increase: 30% Furina's Max HP; HP restored: 10% Furina's Max HP + 10% character's Max HP; Incoming Healing Increase: 25%.
This does not replace a healer. The Max HP increase would be comparable to Barbara's burst and Zhongli's skill, but Furina only fills about half that gap. A healer, or characters with occasional self-healing, would be needed to take full advantage.
-----
Increased Max HP directly synergizes with Furina's entire element save Mona and Childe.
Increased Max HP is ofc generally useful for survivability — if you have healing to fill up the raised cap with. Many healers are HP scalers so this is synergistic too.
Hydro!Traveller, Lyney, and Lynette demonstrate that HP-as-a-resource is going to be a major theme for the next half year at least. Spiral Abyss is set to continue that trend through September.
If you're running a Marechausse Hunter type of character (or Xiao, Shinobu, Hu Tao, etc.) then more HP means incoming damage stings less.
This is not a Corrosion counter; Corrosion scales with Max HP (though the rules could plausibly be tweaked to have it scale on base max HP).
Increased Interruption Resistance, reaching Shield-like levels if a character is over their original cap: viable alternative to shields if paired with a good healer.
----
¹ With every new character, there's always a question of "will their attacks reach inside Venti's ult?". For Nahida, off-field AoE Dendro application is the niche. Zhongli is the biggest exception here, having both cemented Shields as Geo's thing and then Geo never bothering with shields again. Still, the point of comparison for any other shielder is "do I like the extra elemental application / shield meter / chip damage enough to sacrifice RES shred?" It's not so much that he creates a new archetype, but that he took over an important existing one.
² Hydro has never been The Healing Element as much as the Resonance implied. As of v1.0, we had Barbara (and technically Xingqiu but that's not where his utility is). As of v2.1, Kokomi. That's... it?
(kudos to @ragingcitrustree for the discussion that inspired this)

Hi, @akatsuki-shin thanks so much for sharing your wonderful fanfics. I love to read them...🤩
I found your blog, cause I saw a lot of your JJK posts. Then I realized that you're also the author of quite a lot my favorite fanfics (sorry for being late in realizing it)....
Wow, now that you mentioned it, one of my twitter moot also like to post paralell between SatoSugu and HuaLian, somehow I felt it's not quite fit to their dynamics, and you worded them perfectly....
After reading your previous ask, do you mind if I ask you danmei questions? Can I ask your top 5 (or top 3) favorite characters from 'X'? And why you loved them? And your top 5 (or top 3) favorite moments from the novel? Thanks if you want to answer and sorry for the long ask....
'X' can be Qiang Jianjiu, Can Ci Pin or Mo Du, feel free to pick either one that you want to answer....
Aaaahhh thank you so much for reading my fics! 🥺 Hopefully I can post in the future for you to read hahaha
Yeah, I mean, for a ship to be similar to SatoSugu, I think one of them has to at least give off that Mom vibe like Suguru. Ngl, if Gojo were to marry Geto, he's not only going to get himself a wife but a Mom, as well, because he can be pretty childish and unhinged while Geto is there to make sure he doesn't run off somewhere. 😂
For your question, I'll go with Qiang Jinjiu.
My favorite character is definitely Shen Lanzhou. He's so pretty and smart. If he weren't so sickly, he would've been super strong when it comes to fighting. I love the fact that despite him often being looked down due to his looks and status, he ends becoming the most fearsome character in the story. Like, if you slight Ce'an, you may get off with just a few punches from him, but if you slight Lanzhou, you'll probably disappear that very same day. 😂
Next one is Xiao Ce'an. I love to see his change from wanting to kill Lanzhou on first sight then ended up becoming the most dedicated and loyal lover as the story progressed. Considering how precious Lanzhou is to me, I kinda share Ce'an's adoration for him and it just makes me happy to see him trying to spoil Lanzhou in every way.
For the third place, I'm not sure if I should say Papa Xiao Fangxu or Qi Zhuyin. They both definitely have a special place in my heart because of how strong and cool they are. Maybe I'll put Papa Xiao on 3rd and General Qi on 4th because I really love how we can see Xiao Fangxu's personality in Ce'an, especially with the way they both love and adore their partner. Qi Zhuyin is super awesome, though. Despite everyone's doubt on her as a woman, she proved to be a great and strong general (I think her troops are the most crucial there because she leads, like, 300thousand soldiers or something?).
I think it's pretty weird to put this one as a favorite character, but for some reason, I really love Ce'an's horse, Lang Tao Xue Jin. This horse always has the coolest description whenever it shows up and it's so funny when CeZhou had sex that night while riding the horse. The poor thing, LMAO. Also love Meng the gyrfalcon. I love them both. <3
As for my favorite moment, my number one is definitely when Ce'an resurrects the Libei Armored Cavalry after his father's death, that battle when they caught the Scorpions off-guard bytheir weapons and tactics upgrade in winter and pushes them all down to the Chasi Sink Hole. What I love the most about QJJ is how cinematic the battle scenes are and that one, followed by how Lanzhou desperately jumps into the sink hole to chase after Ce'an like a scene straight out of his nightmare is so uuurrgggghhhhhh 😭😭😭
Next one is the huge decisive battle with Hassen. Like, man, I didn't think I sleep at all until I finished that entire arc until Ce'an came and finished Hassen for good. From the very start when the invasion has just begun, to when the old commander (Yin Chang?) sacrificed himself outside the gate, when Fei Sheng rode all the way to lit the tower, when Tantai Hu came with reinforcement, and when Ce'an shot his arrow right before Hassen killed Lanzhou. I truly have no words; that must be the coolest battle scene I've read in my whole life.
The third one goes back a bit further to the earlier part when Lanzhou lets Ce'an go and locks him out of the city gate, so he could confront the guy who killed his teacher (Han Cheng, I think). But then Fei Sheng opened the gate for him and let Ce'an brought Lanzhou with him. That was so intense and the following hurt/comfort scene is just heartbreaking aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I'm not sure what to put as my fourth and fifth favorite scenes because there are so many interesting scenes throughout the story. I do remember two scenes that I still remember to this day.
One is when Qi Zhuyin's vice commander(?) sincerely told her that even if nobody were to remember her after this, then he would be the one to always light a candle for her, and after his death he would make sure his children continue to do the same. Qi Zhuyin really deserved that recognition after all her struggles and this show of sincere loyalty really just strikes me in my weakest point hhhhhhhhh
The other one is when Lu Yizhi came to visit Lanzhou to see what kind of man his brother-in-law has fallen in love with, but Lanzhou has no idea about it at all. And then at the end, Fei Sheng inadvertently opened the gift Lu Yizhi left for Lanzhou and went "mother of god it's a dowry" or something. xD

what about the gang's genshin mains and why they main them
Ahhhh thank you for this question!
Love me some Genshin and JoJo mixtures!
Also, forgive me because I am 100% a use characters if I like their design and individual play style and NOT a cohesive team user lol
Bruno Bucciarati
Archon collector.
His main goal is to collect all of the Archons.
So his team is pretty simple.
Raiden, Venti, Nahida, and Zhongli.
He’s not sure what he’ll do as the other Archons become playable.
But for now, it works out for him.
He just likes the idea that he can play as gods in a game.
Though, he does find their characters to have questionable actions.
Their favorite character: Nahida.
Leone Abbacchio
Hu Tao main, hands down.
Because of this, he also uses Zhongli.
They work well together on a team.
But also the character dynamic is his biggest draw to them.
After that, he isn’t as picky as who else he uses.
But he has heard that Yelan and Xingqiu would bring his team to the next level.
He likes Hu Tao’s play style because it’s risky and gives him a sort of adrenaline rush.
He also likes Hu Tao’s personality.
Favorite character: pretty obvious.
Pannacotta Fugo
Has a constant rotation.
He plays based off of whoever best fits his needs in that moment.
He is very partial to using Geo, however.
Any excuse to throw a Geo in there and he’ll take it.
Especially fond of using Itto, Albedo, and Gorou.
The fourth member is on constant rotation, however.
But he does have other side teams for his rotational needs.
Favorite character: Albedo.
Narancia Ghirga
Aesthetics Only.
He doesn’t care how well a team works together.
He wants to use characters that he simply thinks look (or act) cool.
Childe is always a go-to for him.
Xiao, Dori, and Lyney are next.
He thinks they’re all neat!
Doesn’t care that it makes the game harder.
He makes Fugo join him in his world to chest hunt, though.
And will have Fugo do artifact hunting for him.
Or rather- Fugo volunteers to help because Narancia’s team hurts his soul.
Favorite character: Childe.
Guido Mista
Tall guys unite team.
Doesn’t necessarily care about how well the characters work together.
He’s focused more on how his team looks.
Though, bases his off of height.
Alhaitham, Nevillette, Wriothesley, and Zhongli.
Occasionally will rotate Childe and Diluc into the mix.
He does, however, have another team with Cyno, Venti, Itto, and Kaeya.
That’s the funny bones team.
They just make him laugh.
Favorite character: Venti (for the memes).
Giorno Giovanna
Always considers his team carefully.
He thinks every character has a use and wants to use them all to their best potential.
Will come up with the most hair-brained teams but somehow makes them work together.
Is very partial to Dendro visions.
He would use Tighnari as much as possible.
From there, he would use whoever he’s in the mood for.
Favorite character: Tighnari.
Trish Una
Aesthetic with a purpose.
Trish is actually amazing at games.
However, she values the aesthetic of her team and heavily calculates that into how she builds it.
Prefers a perma-frost team.
Female characters ONLY.
Ayaka, Shenhe, Kokomi, and Yelan is her forever team.
Though, she has side teams of other characters she simply finds beautiful but doesn’t fit her main team’s strong core.
Side team 2; Nilou, Yae Miko, Keqing, Layla.
Side team 3; Ningguang, Yun Jin, Jean, Faruzan.
Favorite character: all of the female characters.
