So i just finished reading some of the most amazing Klaine works ever!! Seriously YaDiva only has three works but each one is brilliant! My favourite is A 'Mafia Romance' which you guys should go check out on AO3!

Hi there! Ugh. No, I haven't abandoned it, but have also been very, very slow with my writing - obviously. I think the only fair answer on when it will continue is, eventually.

I finally had a chance to listen to the Gleetastic FanFiction episode of the "And That's What You Really Missed" podcast featuring the lovely @spaceorphan18. I have thoughts and criticisms so under the cut we go.

First, I'd like to give a huge thank you to Pamela for representing us so well, especially those of us who consider ourselves OG fans and writers. Thank you for bringing a mature, non-embarrassed voice to the conversation.

Which brings me to my other thoughts. Grrrr....

So, the first woman, Brie the counselor, was fine. She brought an interesting perspective to the conversation and provided a mental health perspective and validity for fan fiction, which I really appreciate.

That brings us to Allison and my issues with Jenna.

One of the things that consistently irks me about Jenna is what I perceive to be her barely contained contempt for Glee fans. She's quite the contradiction. She loves her cast mates and realizes she was blessed and lucky to be a part of the show, but at the same time looks down on the fans of the show because the show was so wild and crazy and didn't make sense so why would anyone like it? What's wrong with these people? I always feel like she thinks people who enjoyed Glee are less than. She's cool. We're not. But at the same time thank God for the fans because we made her career and paychecks from the show possible.

Ugh.

The same applies to her view of fanfic. Fanfic is a part of the fandom ecosystem, and again, thank God for the fans who help her get paid. But also, "Ew. Who are these weird little nerds writing stories?" Yuck.

I'm so glad Pamela stated, "Fanfic is not for you." THANK YOU! But also, Jenna needs to get over herself.

I'm probably rambling at this point, but Jenna's attitude has been bothering me for a while. Despite her platitudes, I feel she has little appreciation of the fans and thinks she's better. On another note, I've also decided she's not very intellectually smart but that's for another time.

Which brings me to Allison.

Please don't publicly go on a show to represent and talk about something you're embarrassed about. It does a disservice to those you're representing and you end up sounding like a giggling ass.

I like to think I write like a rom com. I'm all for drama but lean heavy into the fluff/heart and I also like to think I have witty/cleaver dialogue (all aspects I find in good rom coms) :)

J: Write or describe an alternative ending to Roadie.

Hmmmm this is a tough question! The actual ending of Roadie is a little on cliché side if I'm being honest with myself but the only other option is for them to not end up together. I could say I could have had Blaine realize it's not worth risking his career over (or the hassle of having to deal with the press) and they'd go their separate ways. Or I could have Kurt realize he wants to chase his own dreams and leave the tour (and Blaine). But I don't like any of those endings lol Sorry...I'm bad at this alternate ending stuff :P

U: Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

Missbeizy - she writes (or at least wrote) the best smut in my opinion.

Yadiva (@yadivagirl) - her fics hurt SO. GOOD. They're like pressing on a bruise just to get that zing of sensation. They're like a guilty pleasure that I'm not at all guilty to admit I love.

MrsCriss2012 - no longer in fandom (and I feel like there was some controversy but I never really paid attention) but her fics really made me FEEL. They also hurt so good but in a different way than Yadiva's. She was really good at the angst with a happy ending that actually felt 'deserved'.

L: How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

About a million. I am CONSTANTLY revising. I read and reread all of my stuff ad nauseam (even after I post it) just to find mistakes or things to change. I find if I leave a chapter or fic unfinished and then come back to it (even just a day later) I need to read the whole thing or at least most of it in order to keep writing. So much revising.

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

I don't really feel guilty for anything I like but I guess my love of D/s is my guilty pleasure? I don't write it really but man do I love reading it. Sometimes the darker/kinkier the better (hence why I love @yadivagirl's stuff). I also love reading hurt Blaine fics (physically hurt more than mentally hurt). I wouldn't say I really have any guilty pleasures when it comes to writing.

A: How did you come up with the title to [insert fic]?

I love telling this story so thanks for asking! :) I listen to music when I write (and do most things) but I never really pay attention to the songs themselves while I write. However while writing Like You Wanna Be Loved, I became obsessed with listening to Ed Sheeran's song Kiss Me and would play it on repeat. Not only did it set the tone for the whole fic but the lyrics 'I'm falling for your eyes but they don't know me yet' was sort of the theme for the whole fic. So I knew I wanted a line from that song as the title and settled on Like You Wanna Be Loved from the chorus <3

I was going through old flash drives searching for a file when I came across the first few paragraphs I wrote for a story I originally called, "FireStarter." I completely forgot about this!

Originally, I had an idea for a story where Blaine has the ability to start fires with his mind when he gets frustrated or upset. This idea eventually turned into APR.

It's not much but I'm putting it here so it can live on my blog.

The first incident happened when Blaine was 8.

He’d been determinedly rubbing his sticks together for over ten minutes, desperately trying to create a spark of fire. His frustration level grew as the other boys around him whooped as meager sparks formed before their eyes. Blaine threw down his sticks and went to fetch two more. Five minutes later he felt a mixture of happiness due to friendship, yet a deeper feeling of failure as his friend Paul gasped in awe as his own sticks produced small flames. Blaine focused on the sticks in front of him and rubbed away, his small fingers starting to hurt from gripping so tightly. He was painfully aware that everyone around him had managed to create their fires. What was wrong with him?

“Jeez. Blaine’s so stupid he can’t even rub sticks together the right way.” Blaine burned with embarrassment as he heard Colin’s smug voice followed by the laughter of the other boys. Paul threw a stick at Colin. “Shut up!”

“Hey! That’s not how Boy Scout’s conduct themselves. Paul, apologize to Colin.”

“Aw, that’s not fair! He was being mean to Blaine.”

“Paul, apologize. Now.”

Paul stood up and reluctantly shook Colin’s hand. “Sorry.” Colin gave him a smug smile.

Blaine felt Scout Master Thomas’s hand on his shoulder. “Blaine, relax your grip some. As a matter of fact why don’t you take a break? This doesn’t have to happen today.”

Blaine shook his head and continued to focus. Yes, this did have to happen today. There was no way he was going to be the only one to not start a fire.

“Blaine…son, let go of the sticks. Stop.”

Blaine kept rubbing the sticks together.

“Blaine, stop.”

Blaine kept rubbing.

“Blaine! Stop right now!”

Blaine stopped but while there were no sparks in the little pile of wood and newspaper in front of him, sparks seemed to ignite within him. He felt a strong burning sensation in his chest. He started shaking just a bit. He stared at the pile in front of him and….

WOOSH!

A flash of flame exploded, rising about a foot in the air. Everyone jumped back except for Blaine who sat staring at the fire in front of him. The Scout Master swore under his breath as he grabbed Blaine’s shirt and pulled him away from the flame. Assistant Scout Master Jerry appeared out of nowhere with a bucket of water he had prepared just in case. He quickly doused the flames as the boys chatted excitedly and stared at Blaine with impressed expressions.

“Are you okay?” asked Paul, his voice filled with awed concern. Blaine nodded despite the fact that he was definitely not okay. He was terrified.

How did he do that?

“That was amazing!” Paul gushed. “Your fire was the best! All that rubbing made it huge.”

Blaine slowly nodded. Yes. Sure. Of course. That’s what happened. He rubbed the sticks together for so long and so hard that it created a really big fire.

Yes.

That’s exactly what happened.

That night Blaine excitedly told his parents about the fire. His father smiled and nodded, his eyes filled with pride.

His mother did not look impressed.

“So, the fire started because you rubbed the sticks together, right?”

Blaine looked thoughtfully at his mother. “Well…yeah. How else would it start?”

Jenna looked at her son and forced a smile. 

“No other way, dear. There’s no other way.”

Hi need your help! A friend is looking for a darkBlaine fic where Blaine needed Kurt close by to stay well. If Kurt was too far away Blaine would be in pain. But Kurt went off to school anyway. I believe he went to school in Paris. That was selfish. It's dark but oh, so good! Do you remember this? I believe there may have been cheating later on. Blaine needed Kurt. Kurt was off at school.

considering the Klaine fandom has been around for about 10 years, there are a lot of fics to choose from. everyone has their own opinions of which fics are considered to be “fandom famous”, and not everyone likes everything listed. but here’s a list of a few popular titles that spring to mind right away. there are probably DOZENS more that I could list too. To liven up your dash, tell us your thought process when writing A Political Romance and A Mafia Romance.

Lol! I don't think this will liven up my dash but I appreciate the question.

Let's see...I'm one of those people who immediately assigned Blaine the older, dark, mysterious, handsome role from the moment he appeared on Glee. In other words, I'm a S2 Blaine girl. Based on my personal head cannon, I wanted to see Blaine really take charge and remain in that role. As we now know that is NOT the direction the writers took and that's totally fine. I'm capable of doing everything myself. Hmph. Lol!

So, A Political Romance and it's sequel basically grew out of my desire to see a strong, in charge, overly protective, obsessive Blaine who's totally in love with Kurt. I'm honestly not sure where the supernatural bit came from because I am not a sci-fi fan in the least, but I will admit that it made it easier to develop a story that had Blaine doing some questionable things at certain times.

As for A Mafia Romance (which, yes, I still plan to finish one day) that story comes strictly from my love of all things Mafia. I've seen the Godfather movies too many times to admit and can quote them all almost word for word. I also love, love, love, Goodfellas but the Godfather holds my heart. Blaine being a mob boss fits in nicely with my S2 dark, mysterious Blaine head cannon.

As for the BDSM-ish sex in both, that's my kink and I'm proudly owning up to it. Ha!
