Continuing your route to Arkham for your daily visit to the hospital, you ignore the violence on the streets, keeping your mind focused on your priority. You were visiting Arkham again for your friend, seeing as they had asked you to visit. You actually liked visiting those with genuine medical conditions rather than those like Victor Zsaz who have none, but use it as a way to escape jail.

Using your visitors pass to easily get into the part of the asylum you actually wanted to visit, you pause in the hallway when you see Crane, as he is usually no where to be found during visiting hours. He pauses as well, when you look up, his face had changed from a smile to a neutral expression.

"Hello, Dr. Crane, you're not hiding like you typically are." He chuckles, not a long chuckle though, simply a few sounds. "No, I'm not, I was visiting a patient." "Well, that's rare." He softly shakes his head, "Rare for you, but I actually do my job unlike a few others."

A slight, polite, chuckle from you, and the eerie silence settles. You look awkwardly at him before giving up mentally and giving a slight wave. "Well, bye." You continue walking off, and when you glimpse behind him, you see a burlap mask in his hand.

You whip your head around again, and focus on getting to the room, deciding to talk about it later to someone who wouldn't spill about it to Crane.

Upon reaching the room, you put the visitor pass up to the lock on the door and open it, there was no window in the door, seeing as they had clawed at the glass and almost broke it, so you had to open the door to see inside.

But inside was your friend strapped to a chair with duct tape taped over their head, the only thing open being the nose hole, with little screams being let out by them.

You gasp, and then turn around, forgetting the door and rush over to where you had seen Crane. You run down the hallway, hand hitting the wall to guide you as you turn and use the force to push you to where Crane was.

"Dr. Crane! Dr!" He turns around at the sound of you calling his name, and his title, with a concerned look on his face. "Yes, what's the matter?" He raises an eyebrow at you running at him, after all, you rarely ever talk to him, but you seem in distress and call on him first?

He grabs your shoulders, and steadies you before you slam into the wall. "What seems to be the matter?" You gasp a little bit, and start talking a bit faster than normal. "My friend is tied down to a chair and has duct tape all over, I think someone hurt them!"

His face turns to a surprise expression and he starts walking briskly to where that room is, having grabbed your arm to steady you and bring you.

You both arrive at the room with the door still open, so he rushes inside while you stand outside, frozen at the sight of your friend like this. Crane begins undoing the duct tape and bindings, and the rush out, attacking what they see.

They hit you, screaming and crying their eyes out while pummeling their fists into your torso, attempting to claw at you. "STOP! IT'S EVERYWHERE! HELP!" They scream, attracting the security guards. The security guards run over and grab them off of you, but it's almost too late, you've sustained substantial injuries.

They take them away to a different room, and Crane walks over to you with a dazed look on his face. "Are you alright dear?" He crouches down and looks at you, inspecting what may or may not be wrong. He grabs the back of your head gently, lifting it while you get reoriented. "I think I'll take you to the infirmary."

He stands up, bending over to help you up, and as you stand, puts his hand on your back to stabilize you. "Don't worry, the infirmary has plenty of stuff, this sort of thing happens all the time. We'll get some ice for your head and go from there, okay?" "SCARECROW!" The screams from your friend echo in the hallways, but they get silenced as they get put into a differing cell, a padded one.

A few tears slip out of your eyes, even though it doesn't make sense to be crying, but their screams invoke a primal sense of pain, of fear. That, mixed with the pain of fingers attacking, attempting to fight in desperation, biting like a rabid dog in a corner, lead to a few tears.

You two walk in silence, or rather, silence between you two. The facility is all aflutter with sounds, after all a regular who visited often was attacked, and attacked by a passive person, someone who was nearing being able to leave.

The walk is long, but he hands you a handkerchief he had in his pocket, and holds you steady as you walk. Slowly, you near the infirmary. As you enter, you notice it's primarily empty, the only other people there being a guard who was sleeping, and the nurse on call.

"Oh, honey, what happened?" She asks, cupping your face and inspecting your eyes. She lets go of your face and walks over to the fridge with ice and medications that need to be frozen, grabbing a bag with ice and handing it to you. "Dr. Crane, d-do you know what happened?" She stutters when she sees it's Crane specifically who brought you here.

He gestures in the direction of you, watching as you sit down on a cot. "Are they okay?" The nurse sighs, "I don't know, I have to check for concussions and the like, do you know what happened?" He nods. "I'll write a report, focus on them for now, and then I'll tell you what happened."

He walks off, leaving you in the room with the snoring security guard, who she then wakes up and he walks off, before walking over and asking questions. "Do you have any cuts? Any bruises, or spots that particularly hurt?" You groan, and whisper no to the questions, just the shock and hitting your head being the issues. "M'kay, honey, I'm going to have you rest here a little bit and then after a while you can tell me more about your head, that sound good?"

You nod, making your brain feel funky and sloshy, and lay down on the cot. "S-sorry ma'am." "No need to apologize honey, it wasn't your fault was it?" "N-no. You're right, I guess." You fight the urge to go onto your phone, instead thinking what happened through.

After a few minutes, the intercom sparks on, calling for her. "Nurse Cherry, we need you at room 23. Nurse Cherry, room 23." She rushes out, apparently that was a room of great importance, seeing the way she ran, and you close your eyes slightly.

Footsteps echo down the hallway as it spurs you to sit up to see who's coming. It wasn't the Nurse's flats, but rather Crane's shoes clacking against the linoleum.

He leans against the door frame, a bit of blood splattered upon his shirt and lab coat. The blood startles you, so you jolt. "C-Crane?! Are you okay?" You rush over to him and drop the ice, checking if he's okay. "Oh, this? Don't worry, the blood isn't mine." He responds, a slight smile upon his face.

"W-what?" He begins moving closer to you. "Well, there's no point for me to keep up the act anymore is there? After all, they weren't supposed to hurt you, so I had to gas them more. I found out the amount of fear gas someone can take before their mind dissolves."

You back away, but he reaches out and grabs your shoulder as he had done when he helped you up. "C-Crane?" He chuckles, "Oh no dear, Crane checked out, Scarecrow's in town."

every day was torture.

“deep breath in.” his low, dark voice sent tingles down your spine. you used to fight against him, but you couldn’t tell day or night anymore. you didn’t have the fire in you anymore. “come on, sweetheart. open your eyes for me.” you sluggishly open your eyes and see his piercing gaze full of unsettling curiosity. “good, good.” he uses his fingers to pry your eyelids open and shine a light in. it vaguely reminds you of going to the doctors. you hear the click of a recorder before he starts to speak. “three. eighteen. eight. twenty-six. subject has red eyes and dilated pupils. the fear gas is working as intended every night, but with more exposure, more resistance is building. a stronger strain needs to be created for the plan to work.” he puts the light away and releases your eyelids. you watch as he walks out of your sight.

you call out, weakly, “help…” hoping someone will hear your weak cries, but just like yesterday and the day before, no one comes to your aid. you let your eyes close before taking a deep breath. you use up all of the energy you have left in you to scream, “HELP M-” a hand slaps painfully against your mouth, effectively shutting you up.

“now now, darling…” he presses his mouth into a thin line. “this kind of behavior is not… tolerated here. not after all the work it took to find us a quiet place to work.” you can hardly see through your tears. his hand leaves your mouth to your waist, rubbing comforting circles into your skin. you let him touch, desperate for a kind touch. you lean into his touch, letting your forehead fall onto his shoulder. you hear a dark chuckle and mumbling, “interesting. so… needy.” he smirks, hand moving to your waist to your hair.

“doctor…” you whimper as he pets your hair.

“yes, darling?” he whispers into your ear.

“please let me go home…” you whisper. his hand stops moving. it drifts from your hair to your neck, slowly tightening.

“what did you say?” you hear irritation in his voice.

“please dr. crane-” you couldn’t get the words out as he tightens the hand around your throat. you choke, hands flying to free your neck. you kick, but he climbs on top of you, holding your legs down.

“how many times do i have to tell you that this behavior is not tolerated here?” you hear something hiss and spot a tank. you could feel yourself start to lose consciousness when he lifts the mask to your face. “breathe.”

You requested no specific version of Scarecrow so I kept it general. So this takes from no specific comic, series, movie, or game. Defaulted to romantic to make things easier. This feels a bit lame but I struggled to figure out where to take this without repeating myself.

This one certainly dips into more sadistic horror territory... perfect for Halloween, lol.

However, I did use this lore video.

General Yandere! Scarecrow Concept

Pairing: Romantic

Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Sadism, Manipulation, Violence/Canon-typical violence, Drugging, Forced affection under the influence mention, Kidnapping, Psychological torture, Forced relationship (?)

The most basic understanding of Jonathan Crane is he's a man that takes sadistic pleasure in the fear of others.

He uses his fear toxin to manipulate those who inhale it, making them see nightmares.

All hallucinations for the most part, but in mass quantities it can be deadly.

Since this is no specific version, I can't find a specific plot for this concept to take place.

However, maybe you were a patient of his at some point or some poor hero he decided to target.

Crane seems like he'd be very manipulative of you due to his toxin.

How he feels towards you, no matter how you meet, is he sees you as another victim.

Another person to manipulate and leech off of with his fear toxin.

Yet over time, as his obsession takes place, he starts to see the beauty of your fear.

What Crane usually does is drug others up on his toxin before torturing them for his own pleasure.

With you, it's different.

When it comes to you Crane just wants to observe you scramble about in complete hysteria.

The sight fills him with a new craving.

He likes that you seem so helpless and at his mercy.

It satiates yet another sadistic desire in him.

He may even interpret as you needing him to rely on.

After all, he's the only one who can make the drugs stop!

I feel the core behavior of a Yandere! Scarecrow would be him making you compliant with his fear toxin.

You have no idea where you are or what's real and the fear that's radiating off you is delicious to him.

Crane shows up as you own personal devil.

That or some sort of comfort in your nightmares, depending on how he feels.

The end goal is certainly to manipulate you into needing him for one reason or another.

Messing with your mind enough may just achieve that goal.

Really the only one that can save you from this situation is Batman himself.

Crane would get distracted by Batman due to him being the only one that scares him.

Which means Batman can scoop your disoriented body up and flush the toxin out of you once you're safe and out of Crane's reach.

Your first meeting would be through this way no doubt.

Crane decides to pick you to play around with, only to be interrupted by Batman ruining the fun.

Crane ends up developing a need to find you.

He finds your fear appealing, you look so cute in your fearful state.

To watch you scampering for help is joyful to him.

When he pretends to play your savior through your nightmares is funny to him as you stare at him with dazed eyes.

It's a shame Batman ruined such a new feeling.

Oh well... he'll find you again at some point.

This is what develops his obsession.

This urge... this need to manipulate you into needing him drives him.

He wants to drag you into a never-ending pit of fear.

Yet he also wants to cage you in his arms and never let go, like a monster digging its claws into its prey.

Crane's obsession appears like it would be primarily sadistic in nature.

At least... that's how I see him based on what I've seen.

In a way he begins to care for you but overall finds you more appealing under his toxin.

The more he gets his hands on you, the more he finds sadistic pleasure in you pleading for him to help you.

He falls in love with the way you turn to him.

He can't help but reach out and hold you as you shiver, cry, and scream due to the toxin.

It's all a melody he loves, he almost wants to lean in and kiss you while you struggle.

He may just do it.

Crane is one who grows more attracted to you when you're afraid.

Call it a... kink of sorts I suppose.

The idea of restraining you comes to mind.

He alters doses of the toxin to make sure you don't hurt yourself.

If he wanted to hurt people, he can choose others.

When it comes to you he just likes to watch you scared.

In his eyes he plans to become close to you... close enough to be a lover in his eyes.

I say in his eyes as to you... he's your captor and torturer.

He hunts you down specifically.

To the point he's just chosen to lock you away to inhale toxins all day.

You're terrified in general... but even more of him.

While you suffer hallucinations and your mind betraying you, Crane sees you as a partner.

The man has a sick interest in you, occasionally kissing and holding you while you hallucinate.

Maybe there's times he relents and lowers your dosage... but for the most part, he's in it for the fear.

Maybe he'll even grow to love you without the toxin in your system.

For the most part, Crane's obsession involved indulging in his fear filled fantasies with you.

It's unknown if he's fallen for you... or your fear.

It's hard to see him as caring yet he cares about you to some degree.

For one reason or another... the Scarecrow has fallen for you...

Once he finds you... he doesn't plan on letting you breathe another breath of fresh air if it means he'll see your beautiful fear all of the time... for as long as he wishes.

-seeing such a display, how can he not take you home as a test subject?

-you wake up in a cell, with scarecrow on the other side of the bars. he explains that youre going to be his little lab rat

-expect regular doses of fear toxin. he just loves the sounds of your screams, and your scared face is so cute!

-that said, he is a psychologist at heart, so he'll also have little chats with you after each dose wears off. what you saw, where those fears couldve come from, etc

-and as he gets to know you, he gets... curious. something about you intrigues him, but you always close off before he can see what it is

-so one night, he brings some nicer dinner than what you usually get, and he joins you in your cell for a meal. he says its to see how you react to him without the effects of fear toxin, but he really just wants to get to know all of you

-you get to know him too. he tells you his name (and he insists you start calling him jonathan), tells you about his life before becoming scarecrow, and he even takes off his mask

-a few days later, he stops dosing you altogether. hes started to feel guilty about experimenting on you, and your voice sounds so much nicer when its not hoarse from screaming

-soon, hes head over heels. your little dinner dates are almost every night (he says its to gauge how you act in a normal setting), he gives you more freedoms, he even lets you sleep with him in his bed some nights!

-i personally think hes really physically affectionate, although in the start hes trying to be subtle about it. holding your arm a little too long when he injects you, pressing his thigh to yours as he asks about your hallucinations, etc

-if you ever try to escape, back to lab rat status with you. he'll be absolutely crushed too. dont worry too much, he'll begin to trust you again after a while... but dont think for a second he wont make that while miserable

-when you finally start reciprocating, hes ecstatic. youve finally faced your fear and have even learned to love it! now youre his perfect little crow forever <3

Yanpapa Scarecrow is a menace to everyone but his baby, sure he doses you with fear toxin, but not for his usual goulish reasons!! He genuinely thinks he's helping you in the long run, the moment he realizes his attachment to you, and two things happen.

He feels an overwhelming gut punch of feelings he thought himself long incapable of, concern for another humans wellbeing, fear? For their safety? It was nauseating and exhilarating all at once.

He both loathes and loves how you scramble his mind, of course he has to take you home the first chance he gets, it's the only way to truly keep you safe, because ignoring the fact that you're a fully capable adult completely unrelated to the mad doctor, once he decided it, you were his, and comparing the two of your minds made you basically a toddler to him.

He felt like he was doing you a favor by stealthily breaking into your home, hiding in the shadows of your once safe apartment, tainting the air with his foreboding aura, even though you didn't see him, you felt him. Eyes suspicious as you checked behind your shoulders, the almost childish way you left the lights on, hesitant to be in the dark for some reason, until you had to rest no matter the chills up your spine, you turn off the lights and all but sprint to bed, your chest pounding so hard it's all you could hear.

He's breathing heavily, slowly as he watches you in your natural habitat, his eyes never leaving you as you clutch your blanket closer to your stiff body.

He knows you know somethings wrong. He loves how this feels and before you can open your eyes to face the monster in your room, he's injecting something in your neck with surgical precision, the drug forces your eyes to remain shut, a dreamless slumber, it was a small kindness he could offer you before he began 'fixing you', it would be hard, but he knew you could make it through, you were his kid after all.

He lifts you with ease, taking care to handle you with an uncharacteristic softness. He brushes a stray lock of your hair from your face as he stares down at your peaceful, slumbering face.

"Don't worry, you'll be fearless soon, nothing will ever hurt you again."

Once the two of you settle in a routine, one where he let you out of the terrifying, dark, dank, lab he'd been desensitizing you in, you fell into an oddly comfortable if not occasionally tense relationship.

He's ontop of your health like nobodys buisness, makes you take your medicine on schedule no matter what he's doing at the time, if he feels like you won't on your own he will pause mid torture of some poor soul just to send you a text, "Remember your medicine dove! I will bring home dinner." He says smiling to himself before continuing his torture, his mind half on his research and half on what you'd like to eat.

If you never try to leave him he is surprisingly wholsesome, has absolutly stopped a rouges meeting to answer your call, gases anyone who even thinks of clowining him for it, you two have father daughter bonding days where he has you as his lil assistant, proud of everything you do.

"Go ahead and press the plunger down now darling, don't mind the screaming, it means you're doing well! :) " All and all a great platonic Yandere father figure to have as far as sadistic psychos in Gotham go 🎃🧡🖤

If he does have his men help, he'll yell at them and barrate them if they so much as cause a single scrape or bruise on you.

●Once you wake up. Prepare to get an unclear confession of his feelings... dramatic ramblings about you two ruling gotham as gods of fear, making the city grovel at your feet while you two spread terror together! If you still don't get it.. then later down the line he'll express his feelings more directly after a bit.

●Don't expect much physical affection. Words of praise or acts of service.. he'll do those. But physical affection, it's unfamiliar to him. He's very akward about it. Expect maybe a hug or small peck at most. Those are still a maybe keep in mind.

●He'll most likely keep you in his small hideout. Let you wander around a bit. Keep an eye on you. Making sure to keep you away from any of his chemicals or fear toxins, he'd hate for you to be exposed to any of it. If you don't try to run away he might give you things like books or let you use the tv to entertain yourself.

●he's outraged when he's eventually and inevitably caught by batman. If you don't want to deal with this shit, I'd suggest moving out of gotham as soon as possible before he breaks out of arkham again. It might buy you a bit more time.

There's just a certain charm about you that draws Edward toward you. He believes that in a city of idiots and fools, you are the only one that can match up to him. His soulmate!

Edward is very big on praise - maybe not toward anyone else, but for you, Edward believes in only positive reinforcement. If you act out or try to attack him, he'll have you momentarily restrained until you calm yourself, cooing to you condescendingly as he holds your face in his hands. He's nothing but smiles as he assures you he understands, you're confused, scared, believed the lies everyone had told you about him. In time, he'll show you your worries were unfounded.

If at all possible, Edward would gladly just. Keep you locked up in on of his many hideouts forever. He doesn't like people looking at you, talking to you, touching you...! They didn't deserve to even breathe the same air as you, let alone gaze upon your gorgeousity! He didn't even like the thought of any of his hired help being near you. The thought of someone, anyone, trying to taint you with their lies... It made him so furious, he'd tremble with rage as he held you in his arms, safe from the outside world.

I could see Jonathan becoming fixated upon a favored pupil of his, or perhaps a victim or hostage whose fear he found particularly... Alluring. He'll only become more enthralled by you the more he looks into you. He doesn't want to hurt you, no... But, scare you? Oh, how could Jonathan be expected to control himself it comes to you. He's almost addicted to using his fear toxin on you. He loves looking at the frightened expression on you, and the way you cuddle up against him for comfort, disoriented even as the toxin dissipates from your system.

G - Good: Do they reward their darling for good behavior?

Crane loves to compliment you, tell you everything he finds perfect about you. He'll also be especially physically affectionate, lots of hugs and lifting his mask to pepper kisses against your face. He'll also, almost teasingly, run his needle-tipped gloved fingers across your skin. He doesn't mean to actually break the skin, but accidents do happen... He'll hold you as you begin to tremble with fear, cooing praises as you fall apart in his hold.

S - Self-Indulgent: How possessive are they? (If at all?)

Jonathan is fine with his henchmen being around you, if need be. Usually, he'll allow short conversations or them fetching something for you. He's also usually fine with a few of his friends coming around, if he trusts them. For instance, Jervis is always welcome and Jonathan enjoys listening in on your conversations or even joining the two of you.

Anyone such as the authorities or Batman, however, will completely enrage him. The thought of you being stolen from him is too terrifying a thought even for the Master of Fear himself.

Attachment: How do they become obsessed?

He became so obsessed with you because of how nice you were to him. You didn’t treat him like a monster or like he wasn't like you. He loves that you treated him like a friend, maybe even more than that in his mind.

Blood: How messy are they willing to get for their darling?

Jonathan isn’t someone who wouldn’t get bloody when it comes to killing or something like it. It’s more about using the fear toxin on them if they ever have been cruel or rude to you or they’re with you in a way that he doesn’t like.

Cruelty: How would they treat their darling when they kidnap them? Would they mock them?

He would treat you in a way that is almost like a child being treated by their parent. He would set ground rules first (like almost any yandere would) and see how you react to them. Which you didn’t like them because obviously and that did upset him, but he didn’t show it. As for mocking you, that is something he would never do. It’s just not him.

Delusion: How delusional are they when it comes to their darling? Do they believe their darling loves them?

It’s almost 50/50 for him. There are moments where he knows that you aren’t willing in this so-called relationship and there are moments where he thinks you want to be in this just because you’re not fighting back in any way.

Erratic: How unpredictable are they? How quick are mood changes?

His mood changes are unpredictable at times, even though you know after a while what can trigger him, which is you fighting back, escaping. You know, all the things someone would do in order to get freedom.

Fight: How would they react if their darling fought back?

Oh, he would not be in a good mood. Not at all. Again, he wouldn't show it and threaten you with the fear toxin at first. If you kept fighting him, he would not hesitate to use the fear toxin on you.

Guilt: What would it take for them to feel guilty about their actions? Or do they feel guilty from the start?

In all honesty, he would not feel guilty about doing anything he is doing. From kidnapping you to using the fear toxin on you, he would not feel guilty about it.

Hell: What would be their darling’s worse experience with them?

Whenever he uses the fear toxin on them.

Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?

Jonathan wants him and his darling to live where he can have this lab in the home so he can work on his fear toxin. It may not be the most luxurious thing, but it’s what he wants and he's going to get it.

Jealous: What makes them the most jealous?

Whenever someone else takes your attention away from him. It’s a basic thing, but it absolutely upsets him and makes him angry.

Kidnap: How would they go about kidnapping their darling? How much do they plan out?

He would plan a whole lot of it out. He wants it to go easy without any flaws and little pain going on to you.

Love Letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?

It wouldn’t be easy for him to do any of the above, but he would go about it in a very simple and plain way (at least he believes so).

Mask: Are their true colors drastically different from the way they acted before?

In all honesty, not really.

Naughty: How would they punish their darling?

Fear toxin. That is his way to go for punishment.

Outrage: What makes them furious?

Whenever something may go wrong with his toxin or you fighting back against him or you escaping. It’s those three things that are at the top of his list.

Patience: How patient are they with their darling?

He’s not the highest on the list, but at the same time, he’s not the lowest on the list. His patience is honestly 50/50, but leaning more towards little patience.

Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?

After a while, you would almost be too afraid to leave because of the amount of fear toxin that has been put on you, so you escaping or leaving after a long time wouldn’t happen unfortunately. 

Rage: How do they act when angry? How do they calm down?

It’s a lot of breaking things and yelling from him. Some yelling at you and some yelling at himself or the people he has talked to. He mainly calms down by him walking towards you and grabbing your arms and wrapping them around himself. He likes cuddles from you, so it works a lot of the times.

Self-Indulgent: How possessive are they? (If at all?)

Jonathan can be more on the possessive side, so he is pretty high on the scale.

Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry and/or isolate themselves?

He hates seeing you scream as that makes him angry, so he isn’t upset about that because that just fuels his anger. As for seeing you cry, it upsets him quite a bit, but it’s not like he’s going to show it.

Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?

Well, he does have fear toxin and I don’t think a classic yandere has that.

Vicious: How vicious can they get?

He can get rather vicious when it comes to the little things, but he tries his best to keep his calm and to not show it around you at least.

Weakness: What weaknesses can their darling exploit in order to escape?

There isn’t that much that you can do in order to escape. And as mentioned before, after a while, you would be too scared to, so there isn't much you can do after a while.

Xenodochia: How quickly would their darling cut them off after escape?

Oh, it would be within seconds if you could. The slim possibility that you did escape, you would cut Jonathan off within seconds as it feels for you.

Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?

It definitely does not take long for him. I would give him only a few weeks, a month if he’s patient enough.

Zero Tolerance: What is the thing that always makes them snap? What things will they not allow their darling to do under any circumstances?

You trying to escape or fighting him is something that makes him angry and snap at you, even though he tries not to. He will also not allow you to touch anything in his lab or his fear toxin. That is for him to touch and for him to touch only.

Of course, this one is breif as I don’t interpret the BTAS yanderes to be too far removed from their og character traits.

• John is aware he’s not he most approachable man and it’s partially the reason hes hesitant to even try courting the person who catches his eye.

•You ought to be very bright or oddly striking to spark his interest in the first place. When you do however John is sure to keep an eye on you.

•John has become very good at hiding, and tracking. Since Gotham is not a very safe place and hes not a very lawful man hes not afraid to take someone’s life if he needs to.

•Those who follow you or get too close will be living their nightmares out soon enough. That is if they can take the intrusive and very very accurate “stab to the heart” assessments Dr. Crane makes of them.

•If you approach him first he’s terribly flustered, not ever expecting you to come to him.

•After a while he decides he would rather not be patient. And he would confront you. In any case it’s likely very startling and it comes from out of no where.

•John is very compassionate to those he’s close with and he would treat any of his lovers with dignity. No matter the escape attempt he would never get brutal with you.

•The situation is already frantic and too dramatic for his liking. If it soothes you to know he didn’t expect or want for this to happen either.

•He doesn’t allow you to decline the offer really- but being courted with him is very much a breeze. He’s not all that clingy once you admit you’re with him at all.

•All in all hes very similar to how he is in the show, just with more guard dog tendencies.

I set apart Harley and Joker because they would be different depending on if they are together or not, hence why there are two versions of each. One alone, and one together.

Harley: See, her characteristics when alone would be, Impulsive, Delusional, Sadistic, and Clingy. Sadistic and Clingy are supposed as opposing forces, but it's actually not true. Her sadism comes from the fact that she doesn't mind see you get hurt trying to escape, {and even slightly enjoys it}. Her clinginess comes from never having this feeling before as a kid, or even towards a kid, and her being confused, even a little scared of this feeling. She doesn't try to find out more about you, she's delusional after all, she truly thinks that you're just like her. Her delusions are something that you will just have to deal with, as she completely believes that you love her too. To break her delusions would end with Reader being harmed physically, or to end up locked alone in a room, waiting for her to open up the door and let you back out. She's impulsive in that she is quick to kidnap, not even knowing your name at that point, but knows she wants to be your Momma. She doesn't stalk you, she's too impatient for that, but she keeps you in her mind. The next time she sees you, she attempts to kidnap you. She would fight Joker for you. She's not always going to be there for you to be considered her 'kid', nor will she truly take care of you fully. Not enough for a developing child. "Momma's here!~ Come here baby, Mommy got some new jewelry for her baby. Just let Mommy take care of you!"

Joker: Yikes. Good luck. Sadistic, Impulsive, Possessive, some of the worst traits to have. He would be fully willing to push you into acid like he fell into, if it meant having you stick around with him. He would not entertain the idea of you even having other parents. Not even Harley could attempt to take you away from him. He's always been shown to be impulsive, and possessive, with Episode 47, season 1, when Harley teams with Poison Ivy. Imagine that, but much much worse. He would refuse to let anyone get close to you. He would feel nothing but glee when you try to escape, only to be harmed by his hyena's. He found a kid {you} and decided to try to poison you against Batman, quickly kidnapping you and taking you home. Finding your uncaring attitude intriguing and hilarious. He will constantly take you places, only to kill or threaten the people who try to help you, and then take you back home where he tries to get you to help with a plan. He's gritting his teeth together, fed up with you refusing to help him. "Listen here kid. You're going to help me with my next thing, or your other-family says beddy bye."

Harley + Joker: Impulsive is the one thing that the two share from their alone counterparts. (Surprising, considering what they shared, but I'll explain.) Self-Indulgence, is the next characteristic that they have. Despite all that they share, they bounce off of each other with jealousy, causing their Sadism to in fact, go away, because they are busy trying to poison you against the other. Terms like: "Come here suga', Mommy's got you some brand new jewlery, did Daddy get you some jewlery? Well, it's not as shiny as Mommy's is it? or "Doll, did Mommy get you some cheap-o jewlery? Well, good thing that Daddy got some candy for you!" are commonplace and you half-way expect it to be quite honest. They often fight and make-up, before fighting the next day and making-up the next. Wash, Rinse, and Repeat. As much as they hate each other and the way that the other parent raises you, they hate the alternative to leaving, or making the other susceptible for Batman to take you away from their loving grasp. "But who do you really love, sweetie? Mommy, or Daddy? It better be me.

Killer Croc: He is Clingy, Obsessive, Overprotective, and Self-Indulgent. His fear of being inadequate and being seen as nothing but a monster, [which is why he does crimes. If you see me as a monster, maybe I am a monster. Maybe I'll show you what a monster looks like.] is why he is all of those traits. He fears that the one person who is indifferent to him / nice to him [Reader, or You,] would be eventually changed to fear him by Batman. Killer Croc would be the type to baby you, even dumb-ifying you if that makes sense. His fear of inadequacy makes him put restraints on you, even once we're past the escape phase, putting gloves on you, being Overprotective so much, because he wants to keep his little baby safe. He sees you as a 'baby' because of your indifference to him being a mutant of sorts, and sees that indifference as naivety. He craves your approval and needs you to need him to do everything for you, hence, his baby-ing. Just let him control your every action and love him for it, okay?

Scarecrow: He is Impulsive, Manipulative, Obsessive, and just a bit Sadistic. He's less likely to experiment on such a nice darling who knows that he was a professor or wants to learn more about what he taught, but punishment wise... He's not afraid to use fear gas. He doesn't want to use fear gas on you, more complacent to study his own psychology, and why he's obsessed with you, and he can't study that if the subject is missing his child... He's impulsively manipulative in the way that he's immediately jumping to a plan to manipulate Reader into coming into his grasp. He just wants to put you in a little container and watch everything you do, just to study you like a little pet. Just make sure you don't run away, m'kay?

Penguin: He is very Clingy, Overprotective, and Impulsive. He's been betrayed over and over again by people he thought he could trust, been kicked out of the society he tries and desperately wishes to join, so when he finds a darling who gives no shits, and cares not for what he is, so long as he is a good person? He impulsively falls into a platonic love, wishing to become the parent he wishes he could have, and what kind of parent would he be if he didn't protect his kiddo? He wouldn't let you out at all, fearing the upper-class or BATMAN might get their insufferable claws into you, sinking fear of him into you. Not quite like Killer Croc, because Killer Croc is fearful because he is seen as a monster, Penguin is scared that you'll learn of his crimes and become afraid of him, and that would simply break his heart. As soon as he has an opportunity to take you away from the society, he will kidnap you.

× Despite how he treats his henchmen, you're his bodyguard and so, you have more of his respect, and commands that respect to not only be given to you by other henchmen, but heroes as well. Mutual respect is the best he can hope for at the moment, though longs for the day you'll start to feel more for him.

× Tries not to push his obsession on you, and tries to keep his true feelings away to keep the relationship purely professional. Despite his best efforts however, he finds himself unwilling to let you fight for him, and often makes you do menial tasks and chores to keep you out of Batman's way. If none are available, he tries to pull you away from the scene before it's too late and you get hurt.

× You tempt him more than anything, but you also motivate him. You make him remind himself why he has to win, what he has to have. And despite him being your boss, he seeks above all else to show off his strengths to you. You will be with him for every success and failure, and so he feels the need to show that no matter what, he is still a threat not to be messed with. This is both a reminder to you, and a warning.

× Jonathan will trust you with his identity, his knowledge, his regrets... his fears. But all he asks in return is the same from you. He wants to know everything about you, just as you will of him. Eventually, he will formally ask you to be his partner in crime, out of costume before you leave for the night. Now that the two of you know each other on more than a professional relationship, he believes that this is the most logical source of action.

× And while you may say no, to him this is just your humbleness speaking, and that you actually would love to, it's just that you think you are undeserving of this. Firmly telling him that you in fact have no desire to work with him anymore causes him to, very insistently, remind you of how much he now knows about you. With a small smile, he can remind you of your address, full name, age, living family members and where they're located. If you truly want to play with the master of fears emotions, then two can play that game.

× But more likely than not, you'll accept, because who would pass up on an opportunity like this? Scarecrow's offering you something you couldn't have ever dreamed of working with other villains, and you won't ever find another opportunity like this ever again. And while all of this is true, with this he'll slowly cut away every body else. Friends, family, you will no longer need them with your villain lifestyle, he's really doing you a favor. Besides, all you'll ever need is him and the legacy the two of you will create for yourselves.

Scarecrow, also known as Jonathan Crane, is a yandere who would know how to get into his darling's head.

Regardless of the nature of his feelings he would know just what to do to control you.

Deep down Jonathan Crane is a traumatized man.

It all links back to his father and ever since then he hasn't really put feelings towards anyone.

He's a villain who weaponizes fear to control others with experiments.

The fact he manages to get someone to train under him is an impressive feat.

There could've been several reasons you decided to work under him.

The one that comes to mind mostly is manipulation, he could've used fear against you to make you his apprentice for one reason or another.

That or maybe you actually did willingly join him.

Perhaps you look up to him in some way?

Either way, being Scarecrow's apprentice gives you valuable knowledge.

You'd know fear toxin formulas, you may hold some sort of resistance to it depending on the formula, out of anyone you probably know Jonathan Crane the most.

It takes some time before Scarecrow truly opens up to his apprentice.

He wants you to partake in experiments and truly understand what he does.

It's a strange but possibly a welcome change when Scarecrow, whom you now refer to as Jonathan or 'Mr. Crane', begins to show care for you.

When he first had you around, you were often a subject of experimentation like all the rest.

Although... Crane soon began to lessen his experiments on you, instead opting to have you help experiment on others.

He began to enjoy having a 'partner in crime'.

One way or another he began to form a connection with you.

It's up to you when it comes to the type.

Perhaps it's simply the bond between teacher and student.

That... or it could be something much deeper.

Scarecrow never went in detail with you about how he felt towards you.

All you knew at the time was he cared for you.

While he liked to see your fear... he didn't like it when others gave you it.

It's like he didn't want you to be scared... like he had always been.

It was a major change for someone like him.

You really are like a weakness to him.

Being a villain... he has definitely slaughtered others for you.

He has kidnapped and killed before.

Obviously if someone is troubling his apprentice... he'll paint the walls with their blood.

He doesn't mind the mess.

In fact, he likes it when he causes you fear.

All the blood he spills is usually for you, his dear apprentice.

The one he loves most.

Granted, there's only so much the human psyche can handle before it breaks.

When you choose to separate from your mentor is most likely when you feel yourself slipping.

You feel you can't deal with all the blood, murder, and fear any longer.

Crane's affection may feel okay at most... but you more than anyone knows what he's capable of.

Truthfully, without the fear gas polluting your mind, Jonathan Crane is just a guy.

He's a secretive man with trauma, one who has chosen to confide in you through unhealthy means.

His hugs feels tight.

His words always feel cryptic, often little mentions of fear and how sometimes murder is necessary.

He's corrupting you... you feel you can hardly breathe around him... which is partially true.

You want to leave... the gas is too much... you need a breath of fresh air.

You need to be away from him.

So... you execute a plan.

You contact heroes in Gotham for help, most likely Batman.

You stage it as Batman taking you away, saving you.

You have a feeling if you try to tell Jonathan you want nothing to do with him on your own... things wouldn't go well.

This is your plan...

A plan that starts great, but the end crashes and burns.

When Scarecrow realizes Batman has taken you away from him... that may be the final straw in his own psyche.

He blames Batman more than you or himself at first.

Until he learns the truth.

He even makes it a goal to find you and take you back.

A teacher must do anything to aid his apprentice, shouldn't he?

Meanwhile you're getting help.

You talk to a therapist, you try to get your life back together.

Scarecrow is a bad influence... he's a dangerous man.

A dangerous man who refuses to believe the fact you no longer wish to be his apprentice.

You try to hide away and distance yourself away from Scarecrow.

His name and alias leave a bad taste in your mouth.

You're reminded constantly of the smell... the thought of the gas polluting your lungs makes you ill.

You remind yourself things are better this way.

You won't have to deal with him anymore....

This is something Jonathan Crane doesn't let slide.

He won't accept the fact you want nothing to do with him now.

He's going to track you down... set up a little trap...

Then gas your home and steal you from within it.

Scarecrow was sure to make a new formula for you.

After all... you're immune to most of the others.

You are his most prized pupil...

Tying you up in a chair within a dark room was easy for a villain slinking around Gotham.

By the time you wake up, Jonathan Crane will be there.

The panic on your face is a comforting sight to him.

He truthfully doesn't care how you left him... be it running away or being kidnapped.

He can see in your eyes a pleasant little emotion that he adores.

Fear...

Fear caused by him standing in front of you while you can't move.

That is what tells him that your feelings have changed.

While he still wants to ruin Batman, he wasn't the reason you left it seems...

You don't like him anymore, do you?

That's too bad... a shame, really.

But that's okay, he still has plans for you.

Perhaps you deserve this? To be scared by him?

You did run away... there's no lying about that.

He already knows what you've done, dear...

You feel your fear fester when Crane turns on the gas... the green smog clouding your vision.

By the time it clears you're met with a monster in his place.

Said monster grins... circling you like a predatory shark.

You try to find apologies, excuses, something to calm him and spare you...

He merely shushes you.

He finds delight in the fear you exude.

He knows that fear is directed at him... it may not be love or care...

Yet he loves it all the same when it comes to you.

-you start asking questions about his toxin, and while he doesnt show it, he really appreciates it. most people dont care about the science behind his work, they just want to weaponize the effects, so its nice to have someone curious about the work hes done

-eventually, he has to go do the "screw with batman and get bodied by croc" thing, so he leaves you behind. and then you dont see him for a long while

-ill be real, i havent played arkham city yet, so we're just gonna skip to arkham knight.

-its just before the attack is launched on gotham, and youre just doing your thing in the city when you get kidnapped. once the sack is finally taken off your head, youre at ace chemicals face-to-face with scarecrow (whos looking a lot worse for wear)

-if youre ok with this (whether you actually like him or if you just want the safety from all the destruction), hes incredibly doting. whenever hes sitting, youre snuggled up on his lap. whenever he has to go out and leave you, hes got the nicest room he can find in a chemical plant ready for you, with multiple guards keeping you secure. as he works, he talks to you, trying to get all the information he can about you

-if youre not accepting of this arrangement, hes going to be more than a little pissed. you dare deny his protection? why shouldnt he just throw you back out into gotham and let the cloudburst consume you? he wont do that, hes far too invested to let you lose yourself like that, but he might just give you a dose of toxin. and another dose. and another. as many doses as it takes for you to start clinging to him for comfort

-hes not super physically affectionate (mostly bc i headcanon him with chronic pain after the croc incident), but he does love to hold you. seeing you secure in his arms, unable to leave unless he lets you... he loves the feeling of control. as for kisses... he cant do much in that department, since he doesnt really have lips anymore. but occasionally he'll sort of bump his mouth on you, which gets the point across
