And now the rest of characters recreated in Soul Calibur VI! I'll try to keep it shorter than the last post, but no promises.

(btw I made a sideblog, once I'm done with swtor related part of Soul Calibur VI, I'm moving all SC realted stuff there ---> @soul-engraver)

I kinda? figured out a way to make togrutas and twi'leks in SC. Sort of. The game does different species (races?), but none that resemble those from star wars. However, there are 3 slots for special equipment that can be positioned (almost) however you like, so I chose some that somewhat resemble lekku and montrals. It's pretty wonky, and placing these on the heads looks very silly, so I added headgear to cover it a little (though for some reason Iressa looks better without headgear, just the cornrows)

I know that I could just not recreate them here, but something about having these characters interact (even if only through fights) just brings me some joy.

(I say joy as if three of them don't have their lives ruined as the result of interacting with each other)

Hair and face are waaaay off, but this game lets me give Rya a double-bladed weapon that can separated in two blades, and that's exactly her fighting style in my headcanon (in SWTOR I have two versions of Rya, one as shadow, other as sentinel for this exact reason).

Here I tried to recreate Vylneer, Auletta's secret apprentice, and the reason she looks so different in these pictures is exactly because she is a secret apprentice.

The first outfit is her 'official' appearance. Nox can't exactly hide the fact that she has a second apprentice, but she went to great lengths to hide Vyl's identity. In public when she's known as Kallig's apprentice, Vylneer wears robes that cover every inch of her skin and make her body difficult to recognize, and a mask that also modifies her voice.

The second outfit is for her cover identity as a mercenary (though I'm not sure if she's hiding the Sith eyes or not), since she was already living among the gangs of Nar Shaddaa prior to her training. And the third is her new cover identity that was used to infiltrate the Alliance and spy on them. In order to make herself less recognizable, Vyl changed hairstyle and tattoos. The goal wasn't to completely change her appearance, because this cover identity is just a continuation of the previous one, just not revealed to most people (though she does slip up once).

Today I came across your account by chance and literally devoured many of your posts. Your tips are worth their weight in gold and are making me rethink my character (my OC).

One thing I've noticed... I think his lore is well developed, but I'm not sure how he's supposed to achieve his goal anymore.

His problem, however, is that he looks very similar to his father and has almost the same quirk (ability).

This leads to everyone seeing him only as their father and not as the person he really is.

My question now is: Would it be better for such a character to give up and simply become evil over time, or would some kind of “anti-hero” be better?

First of all, thank you for the kind words, seriously, that means a lot. And second? Holy hell, I love this character setup. You’ve built a character with some incredible tension at his core. He’s not just trying to break out of a legacy, he’s trying to break out of his own reflection. He looks like his father. Has the same quirk. People see him and immediately slap the “villain” label on him before he even gets a word in.

That does something to a person.

When you’re constantly treated like you already are something, especially something dark, something dangerous...it’s not just annoying. It’s exhausting. It's isolating. Eventually, even the strongest-willed people start to ask, “Is there any point in fighting this?” And that’s what makes your question so powerful:

Should he give up and just become evil? Or should he try to become an anti-hero?

Let’s unpack both...

╰ Going Full Villain – “If I’m gonna be hated anyway…”

On the surface, this path makes sense. People already expect the worst. They project his father onto him every time he walks into a room. They don’t see him, but just the shadow he casts. So at some point, yeah, it might feel easier to stop trying to prove he’s not his dad and just… lean into it.

But that wouldn’t be surrender, that would be self-erasure. It’s not a choice rooted in desire or ideology, it’s rooted in burnout. Bitterness. A kind of emotional collapse.

You can absolutely write this path if you want to explore what it means to become the mask others forced onto you. There’s beauty in tragedy. There’s pain in watching someone slip into the very shape they swore they’d never take, just because no one gave them the chance to be more.

But… is that really what he wants? Or is it what he thinks is left?

╰ Becoming an Anti-Hero – “I’ll make my own damn category”

This, to me, is where his heart probably lives.

Because from what you described, he doesn’t want to be a villain. But he also doesn’t want to be a hero, like not in the clean, performative, cape-wearing sense. Heroism, to him, feels like a cage made of expectations. He doesn’t want to be anyone’s symbol. Doesn’t want to be a PR-friendly redemption arc. He just wants to be free—to exist outside the script written for him.

That’s anti-hero territory.

And the beautiful thing about anti-heroes is, that they fight for things they care about, not things they’re told to care about. They help people, but they break rules doing it. They’re messy, unpredictable, and wildly human.

Let your character become someone who carves out his own moral compass. Someone who helps the helpless but refuses to smile for the cameras. Someone who uses his father’s powers but twists them into something new. Something meaningful. Something his own.

And let him struggle with it. Let him wonder if he’s becoming what everyone feared, and then have a moment, one small, honest moment, where he chooses not to.

╰  One more thought, What if the real story isn’t about what side he chooses…but about who he becomes when no one’s looking?

Not villain. Not hero. Not symbol. Just… him.

A kid born in someone else’s shadow, learning, slowly, painfully, that he can make his own light, even if it flickers. Even if people don’t see it. Even if it scares them. And maybe that light doesn’t look heroic. Maybe it’s sharp-edged. Maybe it hurts people sometimes. But it’s his. And that is more powerful than anything he could be labeled.

You’re already thinking so deeply about this character, which tells me you care. And that’s how stories get written with soul. Don’t rush the answer. Let him show you who he is over time...

UHHHHHH short answer: never say never

it’s not really a priority for a myriad of reasons.

this might be a random ass reference but it lowkey started feeling like the netflix show elite where all the main cast is gone and they’re just beating that dead horse till it’s glue. like if the whole save combusted after ollie’s gen i genuinely would’ve been satisfied. i’ve never been one to like to draw something out id rather a piece of media die with dignity rather than fizzle out until it had to be taken out back like old yeller

another reason is gus’ gen was sort of formed around growing together and exploring that but i kinda did that already independently from them? so it would just sort of be redundant. once your sim got pissed on once you’ve seen it a thousand times

third, the save is like. extremely bloated hejrjdkd. a billion townies (i’ve since changed how i deal with npcs so it doesn’t bug me much like in my current household file) that need makeovers and a billion and one cousins i need to keep track of. it’s just a lot of work to even get the save right before i can even play

SO YEAH that’s all sad but tbh, i wuv them so who knows? i’ve turned around ideas in my head for how i could bring them back. maybe a time jump into a new save, maybe something else i haven’t thought of tbh if y’all have an idea i’m all ears. but like i said it’s not really a priority and i don’t wanna force myself into doing anything just for the sake of posting them bc i’m too hedonistic for that. i only do things that give me that sweet sweet dopamine

in the meantime i like how there sort of. canonized? on my blog ehehe. like using nadine and dante for my barbie and ken poses, i wanna keep doing stuff like that! like treating them like little ocs bc i could never just abandon them on the side of the road im not THAT much of an absentee parent

OC STORY DUMP TIME!! :D

general info to keep in mind: everyone in this group except for Cody & Aviru is 13-14. The story takes place the summer between 8th grade and 9th grade for them all.

The main guy, Robbie. On his way home after the last day of school ended, Robbie took a shortcut through the woods to his house. A random deer shows up, bites his hand and then leaves. Robbie ignores it until he brings his brother(he gets mentioned later) through the woods and the same deer shows up, turns into some weird eldritch horror and attacks his brother. Robbie tries to help but accidentally finishes off his brother, killing him. Robbie tells his friends about this and they all are like “well that’s weird.” They go to the woods to investigate and that’s where all the weird stuff happens. They form a plan to get rid of this monster thing so it doesn’t hurt anyone else. I’m not gonna say much else because I’ll probably post more about these dudes :D

random cool fact: often has nightmares and cannot sleep as a result. (This was a problem before everything happens.) he’s also a trans guy :D

May is Robbie’s best friend. She was the first person Robbie told about anything. They’ve been best friends since 6th grade. She’s super smart and does most of the research about what the thing in the woods is. She’s also got some insane paranoia after the first arc ends because of all the stuff that happened when it ended. not to mention she has zero idea what she’s going to do after Highschool. She feels like she needs to figure everything out now so everything is okay later. (Can you tell im projecting?)

random fun fact: both her parents are engineers which puts more pressure on her.

Juliet is the groups caretaker and #1 “what the hell is going on” person. She blindly trusts most of her friends wich leads to a lot of issues both now and what happened when she was younger. Shes been friends with May the longest out of anyone in the group. Random fun fact: she was born without the lower half of her right leg and uses a prosthetic.

Teagan recently moved into the town and barely knows anyone except for Juliet. They’re aggressive and is constantly one upped by her sister. (She’s not in this post because she doesn’t really show up in the story.) Teagan only agreed to anything with the group because “the cute girl who I live Nextdoor to is doing it and I want her to like me.” (Juliet is the cute girl Nextdoor.)

Random fun fact: she played baseball in their old town and got kicked off the team for smacking a kid in the face with a bat. (On purpose.)

Cody is Robbie’s younger brother (9 years old). In the first arc the only thing he does is die. That’s literally it he just dies. In the second arc he appears again as a weird living corpse that’s actually [HUGE SPOILER WOAHH!!] random fun fact: knows the entire plot of dog man (yes the graphic novel by dav pickley) from beginning to end.

VILLAIN TIME!! Aviru is a shapeshifting monster that but Robbie because it was “in need of someone to carry on the legacy.” Aviru is a master when it comes to making Robbie freak out. It often messes with Robbie’s head and if Robbie is freaking out hard enough, it can sneak on in and take over Robbie’s mind. random fun fact: when I first created the characters and idea of this story (back in 2022 when it was a gacha club miniseries I made for myself with one episode yeah yeah point and laugh I was a gacha kid) aviru did not have a name and was just a goofy creature.

and that’s them!! There’s other side characters who aren’t as important to the plot but they’ll show up some other time. That’s the group though and I felt the strong urge to infodump and introduce them so here we are!!

I wanna know if Donny/Derek would have biological kids if they got together... or Donny/Trend bc in the Drunken Dare Cornelia Salene is biologically Sam/Donny... how will that work?

Also I wanna know if Sander didnt get together with Donny and dated someone else at the time, who will Donny get together with in Chasing Fireflies? Maybe Sam? Or someone else hmm why do I feel like it would be interesting to see Victor or Jonas or even Chuck trying to get a shot at Donny before chasing fireflies began if Sander didnt get his shit together (I love Sander but hmm which side OCs would Donny get outside of Trenderam and Sander if they are all occupied).

If Thea is a guy (Theodore) maybe I think Donny would be into him im sure.

Yeah I like the idea where Victor or Jonas or even Chuck or Erik tried to have a shot with Donny it would be interesting thought

Weeell, in Drunken Dare, I took some liberties with their canon kids since I didn't want to create new-ships-exclusive kids that I then would accidentally grow attached too, so I took Cornelia Salene, since she is the only clear legacy of Ares and takes fully after Sam, and changed her other parent; all other Trenderam kids are either Athena, Demeter or in Colly's case Ares and Athena.

I do think that I would have switched around other kids too, like, Mikki is a legacy of Athena so he could have been a Trend/Donny kid instead.

Mh, two options for who Donny would have ended up with, if not Sander.

The original plan - when I made my first draft of Nicercy next gen characters - was for Donny to be dating Luke Chase, since I have a thing for making my next gens of characters who are canon endgame date. So that is a potential option.

And yes, Sam. Sam turned so much more into a character than originally planned, and I adore his dynamic with Donny a lot, I'm fairly sure it would have been Sam/Donny if Sander had been otherwise taken.

Mmmh, if you're asking side characters beyond those five... I do think that Loki Murdock and Donny would have been an interesting match.
