Keep dazai out of your fucking mouth u dumb fucking idiot
"take her name out of your mouth you don't deserve to mourn" ahh sound 😭
but like seriously though, do you not have anything better to do than just go harassing people on the internet simply for liking a character or a ship? it's actually ridiculous how you're attacking people for things that are completely harmless and it's not gonna solve anything in your life whatsoever. it's just making you look childish
i genuinely don't care if you dislike chuuya or skk but is it that hard to just simply ignore it and go on with your life??? do you want attention that badly???
and the fact that you're also practically hiding behind a screen, wasting your time and energy on the INTERNET and going on to HARASS PEOPLE is kind of crazy

Question: What's your opinion on all Dazai ships? I personally think that literally everyone could do better <3
Omgg anon, I love this ask so goddamn much!! Okay, let's get into it-this is gonna be long.
Two things before I continue. One, I'm a Hannigram fan, make of that what you will. Secondly, shipping does not mean "oh, these two are definitely canon, they have feelings for each other," shipping has always meant "I love their dynamic and can see a world where it could be romantic." That's why we have more than one.
Soukoku (Dazai/Chuuya) - Obviously this was gonna be my first choice to start this conversation. I think that soukoku is textually supported. I'm sorry, but there's just some things you don't write if you don't want people to ship two characters. These two are written for each other, therefore a perfectly valid ship. I myself do not ship skk, don't care about them as a ship at all, but I can certainly see the appeal. They have a history, and they're now on opposite sides, but still every bit the lethal team-up. I don't get the emotional side of it though – they inspire no such feeling in me, and I do believe Chuuya could definitely do better XD
Kunizai (Kunikida/Dazai) - This one I actually like quite a lot. I don't necessarily ship them in canon, but I believe they're good for each other. Kunikida with his rigidness and morals and Dazai with his carelessness and disaster that seems to follow him. I also like how Kunikida has a book where he jots down the best way to live, and Dazai has a book he carries around on how to die. I believe they're very different, but the sincere trust and care they have for each other, as well as the easiness of their partnership is something they both rely on and need. 10/10 ship.
Dazatsu (Dazai/Atsushi) - The age gap here is the biggest problem for people from what I've seen, but I don't think this is a proship or a bad ship that should be discouraged. Again, I don't ship it, but I feel it's perfectly fine if you do? "Oh, there's a power imbalance-" bitch, what power imbalance?? Like, you do know they're coworkers, right? Yes, Dazai saved him and Atsushi is grateful, but Atsushi is not stupid or blindly devoted or whatever. What he is, is mentally ill, but then again, so is Dazai, and if you think Dazai would take advantage of him, then that says more about Dazai as a character than it does the ship itself. Atsushi could definitely do better, and to me, that better is Akutagawa XD
Morizai (Mori/Dazai) - Well, I don't think I have any thoughts on this, other than the obvious ones. Dazai was a child in the Mafia, and they do seem to have a more guardian/ward relationship, fucked up as it is. Mori was definitely at least mentally and emotionally abusive to Dazai, from what we've seen. I don't think anyone would actually ship this? Unless you're talking purely fanfic scenarios. In this case, Dazai could do better. So yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and "nope" this.
Odazai (Oda/Dazai) - Now listen. Again, I don't ship this (I don't know if I ship anything that has Dazai, I hate the man), but if you think Oda and Dazai had a father/son relationship, you're delusional. Dazai cared so much for Oda, and upon reading Beast, I refuse to believe there was no universe where Dazai developed feelings for him. I think of them every time I listen to any Adele songs. "Them" being their Beast version. I'm so serious. This is a valid ship far as I'm concerned.
Dazaku (Dazai/Akutagawa) - This one is a ship that I get so riled up about. Because of the fandom. I honestly never gave this ship a second thought until I saw how hated it was. Then, I realized it's hated for all the wrong goddamn reasons. I don't ship it, because I hate Dazai on principle, but sometimes, I feel like I'm shipping it out of spite. It's like people can't make up their minds about the dynamic of these two. When you want to say Dazai abused Akutagawa, they'll be like "Oh, Dazai was a child, too!" Then you say they both grew and are healing – and maybe Dazai cared after all? – and it's all "You can't ship him with his abuser!" Well, which is it now? Is Dazai a bad guy still? Is it so wrong to want Dazai to care? To imagine Dazai pulling Akutagawa into the light with him? When people vehemently hate on this ship, I take that to mean "Yeah, Dazai is the worst, how could you ship Akutagawa with him?" Which, great take, I'm all for that. This ship is overhated in my opinion. Both Dazai and Akutagawa are two important pillars of what makes Bsd what it is. Their relationship is complicated and messy and important – so yeah, I'm not surprised people would ship this. Sometimes, toxic yaoi is where it's at, and you just wanna fix them. Akutagawa can DEFINITELY do better.
Souheki (Dazai/Ranpo) - I think they're besties. Absolutely nothing romantic here for me. I cannot see it, but I love them both, so I'd read fics at least. They're both geniuses who hold deep respect for each other. They may be able to understand each other much quicker and on a deeper level than other people, but I think they'd be a disaster if they were to date. Absolutely not. Plus, I'm a huge Ranpoe fan, so I'm biased.
Fyozai (Fyodor/Dazai) - They have a lot of tension, I'll give them that. They're two pretty, genius bitches playing 3 dimensional chess while everyone else plays checkers. Plus, being on opposite sides?? I can appreciate some enemies to lovers when I see it. I think if I were Fyodor, I'd definitely be interested in this young man who can match my intellect even as I've been alive since Jesus Christ was born. Also, don't ask me why, but they feel so gay when they're together – just, not for each other? I think in a no powers au, they'd definitely experiment together lmao. So, valid ship in-universe? I'm going to allow it. They could both do better.
Sigzai (Sigma/Dazai) - I don't know how this ship got popular?? I mean, sure?? Great ship?? Genuinely don't know what to say. I mean, they're there and they're both pretty?? I guess? Honestly, Sigma reminded me of Akutagawa, it was kinda funny to see. But go off XD??
I think that was it, lemme know if I forgot any major ships!

hi! i really loved your hcs about mc making depreciative jokes, could you please do that for isaac, mozart, vincent and comte please? thank you!
anon was talking about this post if anyone’s interested .. also this is so long (*´ー`*)
tw: anxiety, depression
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Mozart is very supportive in his own, roundabout way, and also has quite the humour (or lack of it — you’re not really sure) so when you do make one of your infamous jokes, you always have to think whether or not to take his reply seriously.
“Are you alright?” You nod, shooting him some finger guns. “Yeah, I’m totally fine, just need to set myself on fire is all.”
He stares, the silence stretching out for a while, then, “Do you need help with that?”
When your self-depreciation does, however, fall on the slightly more serious side, all he can do is frown at your silence, mind running miles and miles to find something that could get you to show him that smile he’s fallen for once again.
Because, he admits, nothing pains him more than knowing the one he loves, the one he’s decided to lean on, is facing struggles he can barely wrap his head around.
“Can you.. hold my hand?” Meek and tiny is your voice as it breaks the silence of his room, Mozart preparing a teasing remark before he turns his head, the sight of your weary eyes and forlorn expression bringing his mouth to a close.
Wordlessly, he moves from his desk towards your snug form on his bed, taking it upon himself to hold your hand in his larger ones, gently shifting your head to rest comfortably in his lap as he soothingly rubs slow, soothing circles on the skin of your hand — just the way you like it.
When he hears your soft sigh of bliss, he allows his motions to continue in silence for a few more moments, before voicing out with furrowed brows, “Why did you suddenly ask for my hand?”
Mozart feels you tense up briefly, though he makes no move to stop his calming ministrations. Said ministrations only come to a pause when you reply.
“It might sound silly but… I felt like if I didn’t feel your warmth, you’d leave. Slip away, like you do so frequently in my thoughts.”
“I’ve never met someone as foolish as you in my whole life,” he mutters lowly. You’re a second away from frowning when he brings his soft fingers to your face, tilting your head to meet his gaze.
There was a certain look of pain in those violet eyes of his, the frown you deemed unfit on his face communicating each and every thought filtering through his brain. Vulnerability was never something Mozart paraded around, yet that exact quality seems to be the only thing he ought to show to you at this moment.
“Why would I ever leave the only person I wish happiness upon every waking second?” His cheeks only redden as he continues, not once leaving your gaze, “I would never leave you. Get that fact into your terribly tiny brain.”
Despite his aversion to, well, affection, Mozart had, in one way or the other, made his words clear throughout the whole day, be it the way he pressed his leg against yours at the dining table, or how often your shoulders touched whilst walking around together.
Actions do speak louder than words, after all.
Vincent van Gogh
The little ray of sunshine is unaware that your gloomy words are mere jests (most of the time), and he still is at times, even after you explained. He has a slight frown on his face whenever you make these jokes, only causing you to regret even opening your mouth.
“How are you feeling today, schatje?” “Oh, I’m not.” You answer listlessly, only straightening up when you see his lips curl downwards. “I mean, I’m not feeling.. Bad. Yes. Haha.” Nice save.
In all honesty, he doesn’t quite understand your self-deprecation, or, well, you. And it eats him alive. The only thing he wishes for is your happiness, but how can he do that when he can barely understand your sadness?
He often partakes in conversations with you regarding your views, always ending up reassuring you in any and every way that he cares, that he loves you.
“You’re going to hate yourself in the morning if you don’t fall asleep right now, you know?” His sleepy murmur against your forehead only brings you to scoff slightly, snuggling in closer to his chest.
“Jokes on you, Vincent, I’m going to hate myself no matter what.”
Your tone is joking, though it does nothing to stop him from tensing up, the better part of his brain urging him to wake up. Furrowing his brows, Vincent manages to calm himself down, slightly glad that you’re unable to see his worried countenance.
“Do you mind telling me why?”
He finds himself listening intently to your words, only pulling you closer to his chest as you explain. It’s heartwarming, really, how someone loves you this much, to listen to the ramblings you’ve deemed “pointless” and feelings you thought “unnecessary”.
“Well.. you know...” he starts, gently pushing your chin up to meet his intense gaze, one you often see when he’s immensely focused on one of his paintings. “I love you. I always will, and I won’t stop, even until you figure out how to love yourself.”
It should be illegal, for someone to say such honeyed words in that gentle tone of his. For someone to say such words, and mean every single one.
You’re helpless as you burry your sniffling form into the chest of the man you love, Vincent only humming softly as he rakes his soft fingers through your hair, urging you to sleep, to bathe in his warmth.
Isaac Newton
Whenever you let out one of your self-deprecating jokes, Isaac always manages to furrow his brows, process it for a few seconds, then proceeds to scoff, scolding you lightly.
“Why is it so easy for you to talk badly about yourself, but so hard for you to stop?” He asks one day, sending you a look. You roll your eyes, “An object in motion stays in motion, genius.”
“... I can’t believe you used my words against me like that.” His lips were permanently twisted into a moue that whole day.
Isaac is quite used to both receiving and giving vitriolic remarks, though he can only remain silent when those remarks are from you, directed to yourself. He can shoulder any amount of criticism, any amount of malice, but when it comes to you — it’s a whole different story.
He’d rather you direct those “jokes” to him than yourself, in all honesty, if it meant taking the burden off your shoulder (which he knows it won’t).
"You’re looking awfully thoughtful today.” His statement reverberates through the empty living room, slowly making his way towards you and the faraway look clear in your eyes.
“Thinking about sleeping but forever...” You murmur absentmindedly, unable to notice the frown marring his features as he sits himself to your left in your zoned out state. “Do you think it would be nice?”
Hesitance broods over his features as he struggles to form an answer, his mouth falling closed and open in a seemingly endless cycle. A frustrated groan brings you out of your daze, your head snapping towards just in time for Isaac to tackle you into an unexpected hug.
“Of course it wouldn’t be nice, you idiot,” he hisses, his grip on you tightening ever-so slightly, as if to keep you from doing what you had just suggested. “Don’t do that. Don’t even think about it.”
His words float through the room, your eyes widening in surprise at the slight rancour in his tone. Though confused, your arms slowly snake around his chest, obvious that he isn’t letting go anytime soon.
“If you do, then who am I going to be loving?” His gentle words are barely audible, but the room is far too silent for his confession to simply fly away.
And usually, you’d be teasing the probably flushed and reddened man, though today you simply opt to hug him just a little bit tighter, inhaling his sweet scent.
It takes a while for the both of you to move from your position on the cushioned sofa. The fact that your lover also pushed away both Dazai and Arthur’s teasings only caused your heart to warm even more.
Comte de Saint-Germain
There isn’t many things that are able to get a reaction out of the always poised man, but your self-deprecating humour always induces quite an unexplainable expression on his handsome face. A confused smile, a worried look, and a slight frown mixed all together is the closest words can get.
“Quite frankly, ma chérie, your life is falling apart,” he says, bemused at your current kitchen situation — cooking without Sebastian is a difficult feat, you’ve learned.
You only wink humorously at him, some sort of concoction dripping from your fingers. “Your life can’t fall apart if you never had it together.”
Cue The Look™.
He can’t deny that his thoughts drift to you a lot. More specifically, to your thoughts and feelings, if it hadn’t already before. Don’t be surprised if you see the man randomly lurking around near you — just a mere check up, as per usual of the worrisome man.
“Ah, ma chérie.. pray tell me why we’re in this position again? Not that I mind, of course.” Confusion is evident in his ever-smooth voice, slowly rubbing his large hands up and down your back as he rests his head on your shoulder.
Not many times do you burst into his study, wordlessly nestling yourself into his lap — much like a koala, he thinks — and staying in that position for quite some time, but it does happen. He can’t say he’s not used to it.
“... You know how you’re perfect?” You ask, briefly looking into his golden eyes before setting your head down once more into the crook of his neck. “Yeah. I have to keep reminding myself that you won’t be leaving this self-deprecating self of mine.”
He inhales softly for a moment, before you hear that comforting voice of his right beside your ear, gentle and deep, and not going anywhere.
“You know that I will never leave you, mon coeur.” My heart. Your own heart thumps slightly at the rare nickname.
A meek nod is the only reply you can muster. He continues, “And you know that I love you.”
Another nod. Then, finally, he turns your head towards his own with the tip of his fingers, a sweet, slightly pained smile painted on his face. Lithe fingers caress your cheeks, bringing you to lean into his warmth. “And you know, that I will love you until your next life, and the one after that, and every, other—”
You immediately cut him off with a kiss, one which he only smiles mischievously into. Curse the immortal for knowing exactly how to get you all hot and flustered.
Not once did he lie though. And he isn’t planning to, especially when it comes to the one he loves.

(1) If Mori dies, does Elise also vanish? Is it possible for an ability to live independently of the ability user? Maybe the technique that allowed Kyouka to inherit Demon Snow from her mother will also allow Elise to be transferred to a better human being (then Fukuzawa will use his ability to stabilize that new connection, start to recognize Elise as a sentient individual, and begin to make amends for ignoring Mori’s treatment of her).
(2) I just want Elise to be free of Mori and live a happy life. Actually, I want a lot of BSD characters to be happy. This will sound twisted, but I want to know more about the characters’ likely tragic backgrounds so that I can appreciate the joy that’s later earned. That being said, I’m also nervous about hearing specifics.
(3) Apparently, Dazai first met Mori after a suicide attempt, so we know the former was already suffering before the “good doctor” came to his “aid.” And then there are sketchy mentions of government experimentation on a child under 8 in relation to Chuuya—Never a good sign.
(4) If Tanizaki’s dislike of earthquakes does reference his real-life counterpart losing his home to the 1894 Tokyo earthquake, then that could explain the absence of parents in the anime. Something compelled Kunikida to quit college and pursue a dangerous profession at a young age (Plus, we never see him interact with people unrelated to his work i.e. family). Kenji seems almost too happy. (Sorry for the angst.)
(5) Who do you think will be the one to take down Mori? I have a feeling it won’t be Fukuzawa, though I can’t yet articulate why. Dazai and Yosano have well-justified grudges against Mori, yet I feel, narrative-wise, they might be too obvious (Though I do want to see them contribute to his downfall). Would it be Atsushi and Akutagawa—the new Double Black? Somehow, that doesn’t feel right either. Chuuya?—BSD Chat Anon
All great thoughts and questions! Regarding Elise... yeah, she would--though there is precedent, as you say, for an ability transfer. I love Elise and want her to be free too--in my first fanfic, that’s why I wrote her as being freed via the Book and then Fitzgerald adopting her (I mean it’s perfect; he lost a daughter, she needs a father who will spoil her and love and protect her!)
And yes, I think we’ll likely get Kunikida’s backstory soon actually whenever he returns to the plot, and Tanizaki’s a bit later and while we have Kenji’s backstory, I think he needs development desperately lol.
As for Mori... *clears throat, sorry* I am pretty sure that in the original double black Mori is going to be the one to take down Fukuzawa. Like, maybe he won’t die, but I do not see Fukuzawa leading the ADA at the end as Kunikida’s been set up to lead it, and well... death isn’t out of the question especially when dealings with Mori are concerned. Mori I expect to continue to escalate in his negative development, and Fukuzawa may reach a point where he can no longer look away and hence tries to stop him, and well. I don’t see it going well for Fukuzawa.
I don’t think Yosano is central enough a character, though I do think she may play a role. Honestly, in all likelihood it will be a combination of shin soukoku (Atsushi and Akutagawa), Dazai, and Chuuya (since Chuuya is, like Kunikida for the ADA, set up to lead the mafia at the end of the series). My personal guess, based on Mori’s character and his habit of targeting the most vulnerable to manipulate (ie Oda’s orphans) is that he will target Atsushi and Akutagawa at some point to get at Dazai, and the four newer shades of soukoku will somehow work together to bring Mori down. How that looks specifically, though, I’m not sure!

Hey! Matchup for BSD and SnK please, if you get this in time? I have long black hair, bangs, and black eyes, and olive-toned skin with all sorts of scars. I'm about 5'3", female, INTP Scorpio. I'm quiet around most people, but not 'shy', just reserved, but according to my friends I can be quite flirty even with those I don't know well. I'm told that I speak extremely politely, but somehow playful and callous at the same time. [R anon 1/4]
[R anon 2/4] Since I spend most of my time introspecting or thinking, I can generally read situations/people fairly well. Sometimes emotions interfere with my perception, but I’m too proud to admit it. Even though I understand where just about anyone is coming from, I most often choose the tough love approach. Rather than guiding someone, I’ll try and behave in a way which would require them to act on the problem themselves. Though I do get resentful and detached easily, if I feel indebted
[R anon ¾] to someone, I’ll be their ride-or-die. When I’m comfortable, I can be rather melodramatic and nonsensical, so I’m told that it’s actually harder to approach me when I’m happy than when I’m not. Even though I consider myself independent and unconventional in most senses, I see myself as a ‘traditional’ partner and taking the submissive role in a relationship. My personality kind of flips when I’m with a partner, I become almost overly affectionate and very giving.
[R anon 4/4] I’d be much more transparent/vulnerable, so I’d require a good bit of reassurance. I would also probably trust my partner’s judgment over my own, unless my intuition was particularly strong. I’m a writer, a novelist primarily but I try to dabble in everything. I also love art, designing, old cinema, and philosophy, and yeah, that’s pretty much it! Any gender is fine with me, thank you very much!
Hello, R Anon-san! I hope you enjoy your matches!
Bungou Stray Dogs - Nakajima Atsushi
Atsushi often hangs around you because of the air you give off - he’s able to tell you’re friendly and open, especially after watching you interact with the others around the office. He often asks you questions about protocol, but with everything else, you try to get him to work the problem out. There are times when he fails to succeed so you help him, but most of the time, he manages to get it. He still asks you for advice to get a few hints and it’s usually enough for him to get the job done. He doesn’t realize your interactions with him are flirty nor does he perceive them to be. The others in the agency let him carry on as normal without giving any hints away.
At the beginning, he relies on you heavily during investigations since he doesn’t have a good grasp over the basics yet. You do your best to teach him and you let him take the lead whenever possible. When the case requires an absurd amount of attention, you try to lighten the mood, but this doesn’t always work because Atsushi takes you too seriously. He prefers trusting your judgment over his own because of your expertise in reading people. He doesn’t hesitate to point out places where you’re wrong though, although it takes him a while to get to that point. From this, the two of you build a shaky but trusting relationship.
In your downtime, Atsushi enjoys taking you around Yokohama to see the sights and drown you in ochazuke. He’s also your beta reader and editor of the sorts for your novels, and he’s great at bouncing ideas with. He has a fondness for books so the two of you often stay up late discussing literary works and getting into debates about them, but you win every time since you always slip philosophical quotes into your arguments. You teach him the beauty of art and he shows you the greatness of cats. Every time there’s something you want to do with him, Atsushi will have the chance to indulge you one of his favorite hobbies. The two of you try to create a balance together.
As the relationship deepens, you allow Atsushi to call most of the shots and you simply follow along. He still asks for your opinion on everything and making sure you’re all right with whatever you’re doing. He doesn’t confess his feelings for a long time despite his affections toward you being as obvious as Dazai’s suicide attempts. The rest of the agency coerces him to confess and he chooses to do so in a secluded area away from unwanted attention. He’s in love with you and if you’re willing, he’d want to spend the rest of his life with you.
Attack on Titan - Mikasa Ackerman
The gap between you and Mikasa starts off incredibly huge, but this is mostly because of her own bond with the rowdiest cadet among the corps. Your shy nature often pushes you to the background, but with your perceptiveness, you’re able to stand out in your own way. You befriend everyone else before making your way to Mikasa, but even then, she doesn’t quite acknowledge you as a comrade because she doesn’t know you as well as she knows the others. After you work with Armin to plot a route as an assignment, she begins to recognize your tactical mind.
You’re able to indulge Mikasa in her views about the world by referring philosophical texts and stories to her. She isn’t much of a reader but a listener, so whenever there’s time to relax, she enjoys sitting beside you while you read aloud. The two of you might appear to have a blooming friendship, but most of the time, you two are on opposite ends of an argument. Both of you often adopt the tough love persona, which usually results in heated debates and the occasional fight. All is forgiven at the end though because Mikasa knows better than to linger over something insignificant.
Both of you are quite trusting of one another. Her observations often vary from your own, but your tactics come in handy at times too. She enjoys taking you outside to explore the area as well as train until your arms fall off. In return, you sit her down inside and get her to read your works in progress or even old texts you found interesting. She often takes the lead in the relationship, but you don’t mind it much. Whenever there’s a moment of hesitation, Mikasa knows exactly what to say to encourage you to move on and continue.
Love is a strange emotion for Mikasa so it takes her a while to figure out what feeling she has for you. When the others help her spell it out, she’s able to confess her feelings for you and she’s content with whatever you decide to settle on.
