some good news!! the spanish state's ministry of equality has finally passed one of the most progressive trans laws on the planet, shielded free and universal access to abortion and banned conversion therapy and genital surgery for intersex babies, among a lot of other feminist policies. the minister of equality irene montero gave a speech thanking spain's lgtb and trans associations for helping her draft these legislations. couldn't be more proud!!

There was a longer, better article about this, but it's interesting that virtually all fantasy is reactionary in the sense that the heroes are questing (almost, of course there are exceptions) to turn things back to what they were. Either stopping a great evil that is going to destroy the current world which is Fine As It Is, or living in a dystopian evil empire and try to return the Old Kingdom or the Old Republic which was good and nostalgic. It's always "the Old Days were better" or "we must preserve our current way of life", never "we will build a better future beyond our current society".

Iranians have been in the streets all over Iran since then. They are protesting, women burning their headscarves and wanting regime change. It's a revolution. And the regime is shooting at people and killing them. They blocked Instagram and WhatsApp last night. The only remaining available social media apps that you could use without a VPN. They're also shutting down Internet so the world doesn't know about their atrocities.

So please be our voice. We need global support more than ever. Don't let your politicians and governments normalize this inhuman, criminal and terrorist regime and the negotiations with them. Islamic Republic don't represent Iranians. They are fighting with us and murdering us. Please reblog this and be our voice.
