revelation ramblings 🔥🔥 spoiler warning jf you hadnt seen the comic yet btw!!

OK I HAVE WOKEN UP AND IS ENERGIZED NOW im so happy to have that part done ... im worried that the way ive paced things is confusing so just a quick summary !! after volo confessed his true intentions to emmet, emmet knocked him out cold, took the plates, and left to return to nimbasa (all after returning the plates ofc...)

it was sort of a wake up call to him, and hes realizing how reckless and stubborn hes been since ingo disappeared. not only had he been succumbing to plenty of vices, he also left the region to join some stranger on a quest to summon arceus 😭😭😭 like YEAH emmets going to need to pull the brakes ... he lied to himself, trying to convince himself that ingo truly is gone so he could return to his normal life. and it worked!

unfortunately all in the background, volo began collecting the plates again. it leads to REVELATION 1, where volo reveals that he did it all for emmet ...

the actual horror in emmets face is killing me ... realizing that volo didnt do this for himself or for anyone. he did it because he loves emmet, and believes this is the best for him.

(and could you say that volo was wrong? emmet had been lying to himself for a year ... yes, hes gotten back on routine, but theres always going to be a missing part of him since ingos disappearance...)

now, there are obviously other ways to go about 'saving' your situationship, but volo doesnt believe that he could be anything other than evil. i think thats the religious guilt/trauma he has ... he can never ever be anything, even if he so badly want to be better

emmet begging him to return him so they can talk and fix things and ... live normally together ... in volos eyes, he could never have any of this

hes the villain in the story, and he has to go through with his plans. at the very least, he could bring ingo back on the way.

and the fact that volos definition of a perfect world included him never meeting emmet and 'hurting him' ...

even volo himself doesnt support trainwreckshipping ever coming together LMFAO ... still, its verrry sad ... but it rings true in some ways ... they had their moments, but ultimately, volo did lie and manipulate emmet; even if emmet was well aware of this ... so if you still hate volo despite this, thats completely understandable! i want ppl to know that while im providing context to his issues, hes still a piece of shit LOL ...

on the next part, we'll potentially meet arceus ... i wonder how thats going to go ...

Ok hear me out, I know we all love talking about how the time period of Grian getting possessed is taking less and less time as things go on, but what if there was a reason for that?

The Watchers did not like Grian's affinity for mischief and rebellion, they didn't realize when they made him one of them that it was inevitable he would rebel but they quickly realized. So, they carved an empty space in his mind, making him oh so easy to possess if he got too out of hand. However, despite this countermeasure, he escaped.

The trauma runs deep, and Grian is secretly constantly scared the Watchers will find him and use that space to possess him and turn on his friends. So he comes to the reasonable conclusion (in his mind) that if he doesn't want the Watchers in that space then he just needs to fill it!

The Mycelium was never malicious and actually quite liked the greenery, however she's never gotten to interact and play with the players before! Grian's deal with her means she gets to play pranks and have fun along with everyone else! She doesn't mind sharing control over Grian's body so long as she gets to be apart of the fun, and had no issue leaving Grian when they won the war because she had so much fun!

The Void was lonely more than anything, and they rarely got so much attention, and the sacrifices were really nice of boatem to provide. (Though the Void was far more interested in Scar than Grian, Scar's mental shields were too great to even think about possessing him, plus Grian gave Scar so much attention the Void hardly had to do anything anyways)

The moon didn't really possess Grian, just occasionally came along riding in Grian's head in the possession equivalent of carpooling. The moon just really liked seeing the man who made a whole cult in their honor through the eyes of someone who loves him. The moon really just sticks around to see the silly little cult man and their favorite moth through the eyes of someone else. (The moon has a long established deal with Pearl but really likes the new perspectives sometimes)

The Entity was more of a kid than anything, and only stayed with Grian long enough to give him instructions on how it wanted to look, and quickly moved to possessing its new body. It took a bit of time for the Entity to learn that players were kind of fragile and squishy unlike Grian, but it quickly learned, and was very happy to finally be able to communicate on a level everyone could hear instead of the frequencies only something as powerful as a Watcher could hear.

The Rift was far more cautious than its younger sibling, but when it saw how Grian treated the Entity, even when the Entity made mistakes, the Rift reached out. While the Rift was far older than the Entity, it was not unlike a touched-starved young adult, old enough to understand things better, but not yet fully matured, and quietly desperate for any contact. (The Rift was Grian's favorite, though he would never admit it, and he felt a lot of kinship to it) The portal to Empires was the Rift's attempt at a thank you, giving Grian an opportunity to see Jimmy again.

The Skulk tried to possess Grian, it was probably going to take advantage to how vulnerable Grian was to possession, however it was a bit to spread out (ha) to give a good effort to overcome Grian and the Rift was too powerful to overcome its stake on Grian. It never got further than one floating bolder.

The Ocean was not unlike Mycelium in just wanting some mischief and the Void in wanting attention. However she quickly realized she was far more interested in the attention the pretty red-head gave her. She was having fun with Grian, but she realized she felt rather bad (she's never felt guilt before and she really doesnt like it) upon messing with Grian by giving Scar the mending book. She quickly decided to fix her mistakes, and gave Grian a mending book of his own, however she does occasionally come over when she is in need of a friend and Grian wants a break (excuse) from the permit office.

Aaa actually I got hit in the face with XuanYa feels. I can’t remember if you said it anywhere, but how did Xuan Su and Xiu Ya become friends? I know it probably happened in the spirit world prior to being pulled, since you mentioned that Xuan Su was Xiu Ya’s oldest friend and his death broke him, but who approached who?

Do you think that Xuan Su told YQY about Xiu Ya after the mind meld situation? I’m not sure what Xuan Su’s personality is like, but I can’t help but imagine him, eventually, telling his wielder about some of the other spirits in order to pass the time. Or if YQY has some of Xuan Su’s memories bc of the whole mind-meld situation, Xuan Su provides some kind of context and tells him about Xiu Ya.

I know @greeniegaes is workin on a series of ficlets including how they met, but to give a quick sparknotes version:

Xuan Su and Xiu Ya were made around the same time, but XS is incredibly picky about who wields it and thus had fewer wielders than XY so he tends to meet a lot of the swords that go into the sword cave

SY becomes XY via transmigration after XY's previous wielder (before sqq) nearly corrupts and shatters the blade (unsure how yet, were workin on that), so he meets XS first upon waking up in the sword cave (XS is not aware of the spirit change, he assumes amnesia much like yqy in svsss) and the two of them spend a couple decades bonding and chatting w/ the other swords around them (hong jing, cheng luan, ect)

Since XY was the last of their group to leave the cave, he doesnt figure out the mind meld situation until much much later (yqy cant exactly walk into the caves looking for XY, itd be so overwhelming for him now that he sees the spirits cuz of XS). He learns about it when SQQ, after another spat w/ YQY, throws his sword at him and storms off, leaving XY with YQY. 🤔 I kinda wanna expand on this bit now...

Anyway YQY and XS dont share memories exactly but they do affect each others thoughts and emotions, which is why theyre both fiercely protective of SQQ and XY, and why YQY is conflicted about anything to do with XY cuz hes not sure if its his genuine feelings or if XS is effecting him

- He desperately grabs anything his datemate could need in order of provide them a fortress of comfort

- Sharps surrounds you with a fortress of soft plushies and comfort items

- Sharps crawls in with you watching you can eat and holding you close, listening to you silently

- when axe sees you crying his eyelight shrinks

- He quickly dices toward you pulling you to his chest surrounding you with his arms and protectively holding you to his chest with a growl

- You manage to calm him down and he holds you tight nuzzling you and holding you close to him

- Although every now and then he makes a growl to himself about your coworkers or job.

- He runs his fingers through your hair and attempts to use affection to comfort you

Hiii ~ i just wanted to say how much i adore this story especially how you can form your Hound. Its always so good to see when the reaction i want my mc to have to some situations is ACTUALLY THERE. Peak writing.

Also on the topic of Arthurs way of speaking i would like to share my thoughts and why i find it off putting. For me the main problem is that its an ENDEARMENT (platonic or not). And my mc does not want to be there and she definately Does Not feel comfortable being called dear by the man who killed her friends and comrades, who she is forcibly being married to, whose most elit soldier she disfigured, who has her literal life in his hand and the power to make her miserable and caged worse then before if she misbehaves. She doesnt know anything about arthur and the fact that he is sincere so she feels massively uncomfy and looked down on. Like she isnt dear for him and he is sure as hell isnt dear for her. I saw that you said there might be a choice later on to tell him about it and ask to not call the mc that but we havent even had a chance to like see him face to face yet before the marriage 😂 so im not put off of the game itself obviously. There is plenty of time for this to happen, I just thought i would share my side. I want to stress tho to that i LOVE your game and its not a make or break or anything :D

As for Arthur... yeah, I see it. Especially with the new lore. I think I will cut down the endearment terms when interacting with MC - they make sense with everyone else but right no MC is not in the position they were in the first demo.

It's complicated because I am now thinking the forehead kiss should not happen, and so I need to probably rework more things than planned... but yes, it needs to be done.

steve looks up, surprised to hear your voice despite being the one in your room. his eyes are wide, his posture straightens, and you can practically hear his scared gulp when he realizes youre back far sooner than he thought youd be.

youve caught steve harrington sitting on your bed, next to your little brother who has only ever been shy around strangers. and yet, as you stand before them, your brother eyes steve with wonder with the remnants of laughter on his face at something hes said.

hearing your voice as well, dustin turns and his smile only brightens when he sees you. "oh, hey, y/n."

"what are you doing?" you storm into your room, throwing your backpack at steve. he lets out a grunt when the object collides roughly into his stomach, and dustin makes a surprised noise. "why are you with my brother?"

"woah, hey-" steve ducks as you go to hit him with the shoe youve kicked off with impressive speed. he jumps from your bed and runs to the other side of the room. "ow, you goddamn vixen!"

"dont call me that in front of my brother," youre seething. how fucking dare he. after everything hes done to you. the rules youve each agreed to. the lines neither one of you have dared to cross. and now here steve is, in the same room as your brother, far too close to the fire youve tried so desperately to keep at a low burn.

you refuse to look at steve. while youre still infuriated and hurt by what he did earlier, you cant help but admit that he did a good thing. he stepped up, even though he knew youd throw a shoe at him in the end. like the fucking prince charming that he is. always good, always kind to everyone around him. sickeningly sweet, yet you know what really lies beneath his charming persona.

instead of voicing any of this out loud, you sit next to dustin and gently run your fingers through his hair. hes getting too old for this, you know that, but still your fingers tangle in his curls anyways. "i thought your train arrived at seven tonight?"

One thing i think about from AGiT when it comes to ghostly purposes/obsessions is that Danny's powers just like... faded away. Like he just gets the option to became a normal human.

And like it makes sense, ive certainly seen the "if a ghost doesnt fulfill their obsession theyll fade away painfully" take. And it seems to me if his ghost half faded he'd still leave behind something considering humans dont just Fade Away- unrelated sidebar: i honestly think in general ghost lore outside dp fanon its supposed to be the other way around. You complete your obsession with the GOAL of getting to fade away, ya know? For some ghosts their obsession isnt accomplishable tho so they just stick around. Which is what had happened in agit. Danny didnt need to do anything to protect amity park anymore, he'd completed his purpose in a sense, so his ghost half started to fade.

But anyways i think it sorta answers the question of "if danny died all the way would he still become a ghost?" Like, yeah, he would(provided he hadnt completed his purpose yet). Cuz when his ghost fades he gets to chose to just be 100% human again.

Kinda implies Halfa is a misnomer, because he isnt actually 50% alive 50% dead. He is 100% dead and 100% alive at all times.

step two proportionssss with clothes you can literally change the proportions of your body. do you want to have a longer or shorter torso? are you trying to make your chest look smaller or does that not really matter to you? personally, i bind. while not everyone has a binder, workout and compression tops are pretty easily accessible and comfortable too. now this is advice for us big breasted bitches so bitty titty commitee dont chime in with the sports bra IT DOESNT WORK. we got BIG TITS the extra fabric that tops provide is literally so niceand makes it feel like nothing is gonna spill out. oop got sidetracked a little bit pero back to proportions

tops if the desired look is a more boxy and less curvy look, dont automatically go for the baggiest shirt in your closet. or do! it all depends on step one. but also dont be afraid of pulling out that crop top that you keep saying youll maybe wear one day and then never do. length is very important for the type of silhouette youre trying to achieve. if you want to minimize your hips, wear a shirt that sits above them not past. if that doesnt really matter, pues lo q sea. some plus sized clothing is naturally designed to minimize hips with a U shaped hem. the problem comes from literally nobody ever thinking about the fact that not every big is big n tall. now u might like that look and i know i certainly do ¡asi q si te gusta sigue!

bottoms tighter is NOT better. skinny jeans accentuates the curvature of your hips. for a more masculine fit go with a straight leg or even just a baggy pant. dont like the looseness at your ankles? try a baggy jogger. if you want to draw less attention to your hips and have a lil fun with your silhouette grab some fucking flared pants or bell bottoms theyre so much fun. grab some shorts. your legs are muscly as fuck from carrying the weight of being a baddie so show those calf muscles off! wearing loose skater shorts with a baggy tee gives the effect of a boxier look

step three putting it all together mix n match that shit! try on one pair of pants and rotate through the tops to see which combinations you like best and then do it in reverse. yeah its a lot of work but do u think i look this good from just tossing shit together? NO i tried every combo i possibly could and figured it out from there and there are still combos that i havent even tried yet. try some layers. go for the classic open button down with a tee. play with the length of the layers. instead of splitting up your silhouette into two try three. get really fun with it and throw yourself a lil fashion show! i love doing a catwalk down my hallway and posing at my mirror in the living room it makes the tediousness of trying on a bunch of different clothes more fun. oh and dont look at the outfit AS youre making it wait to see the results at the end. trust the process

now for the real real advice play with the masculine and the feminine together! youll be surprised at how well the two compliment eachother. go thrifting! youll never find cool shit in retail stores. those mfs think fat people only deserve frumpy shit and never actually carry anything cool in our sizes so dont waste your time and happiness browsing the racks only to find something you wished came three sizes bigger. MODIFY YOUR CLOTHES. you got shit you hate in your closet right? so start there. its not like youre wearing it anyways so change it into something you hate a little less. who knows? you might end up loving it. and once you become more confident with modifying things and finding out what truly works for you you can move on to pieces you like and turn them into pieces you love. why i think richard cameron is Like That

the long awaited cam analysis post of sorts!!!

so to start off, let me acknowledge the obvious: CAMERON SUCKED FOR WHAT HE DID TO HIS FRIENDS. THAT WAS MEAN AND SHITTY OF HIM, HE DESERVED TO GET PUNCHED IN THE FACE AND HE DESERVED TO HAVE HIS FRIENDS STOP LIKING HIM. this post is just to paint a more nuanced picture of the motivations and reasoning behind his cam-ness. also i feel the need to address that my love for dylan kussman HEAVILY influences my opinion on cameron, so please keep that in find when u read this. if my bias shows at any point then feel free to offer your perspective, odds are i'll find a way to agree :3

lets start at the very beginning of the movie, his first appearance with the tradition banner. this obviously wasn't anything i rly thought of in depth on my first watch, but on my second watch i was like oh Hm.

tradition, of course, is a BIG aspect of welton that the movie repeatedly emphasises, drawing lots of attention to how nothing changes. i find cam holding the tradition banner especially interesting in relativity to neil holding the excellence banner specifically. cam very clearly tries his best to embody the rules of welton (more on this later) and very rarely deviates from those rules, although he does on occasion (again - more on this later.) but despite his attempts to be the manifestation of those values are never met with any praise, unlike neil. that's not to say that neil isn't deserving of that praise though, absolutely he is deserving, but in terms of academics specifically, cam's pretty up there too! this part doesnt exactly tie in directly with the rest of the post, but just thought id point it out first to add a layer to the rest of my thoughts.

how i view cam's character arc is something that's framed in a way thats not supposed to be viewed as an arc, i suppose (interesting considering the tradition thing hm). of course thats inaccurate as he does in fact have in arc, it just small in relation to the more forefront-ed poets. and it makes him ultimately less likeable, so.

during a majority of the movie (pre neil death) cam is known as the guy who doesnt like to break rules, that much is obvious, but in the end he still does with the dead poets society. now the reasoning behind that isnt actually touched on in a direct way, so there are a few different ways you can view that. i'll touch on a few different reasonings that me, @pencileraser1, and @good--merits-accumulated came up with.

my reasoning - i see cam's willingness to break the rules as cam holding his friends' idea of him on a high pedestal, constantly taking into consideration what they think. not wanting his friends to consider him a loser or boring in any way, he joins despite the anxiety surrounding being caught. not without fuss though, he does still outwardly talk about how this isnt something they should be doing. all this and yet he does in fact join, AND he doesnt rat anyone out for a majority of the movie (even after the call from god dealio!!!) fomo, basically.

nick's reasoning (found in this post) - he just wanted his friends to be safe!!! joining to (in my view) keep them in line in terms of safety as well as. i guess. provide the reminder of the consequences i suppose?? nick im opening up the floor to u if u wanna delve into this point more cuz ur definitely able to provide better reasoning n such. if asking nick to talk abt things was a full time job.

tristan's reasoning (discussed in dms) - cam's need for authority. tristan brought up a very good headcanon/ theory/ something or other that cam is the type to need constant direction or authority, and i totally agree! (reason for that will - again - come up later.) now this culminates in a couple different ways. 1) most obviously, adhereing (ehh) to the rules of welton, and 2) his relationship with the rest of the poets. due to the size of the welton student body, a lack of individual direction from teachers and staff is almost inevitable. so to fill that gap, he adheres to his friends' """"""rules"""""", and joins the poets. floor is open to you as well if you'd like to elaborate further, tristan :3

my thoughts of cam being super focused on his friends' idea of him actually started as a bit. i believe i made a hc post about smoking weed?? maybe?? and said something along the lines of "cam would smoke even if he doesnt want to, not cuz of peer pressure from his friends but more of a self imposed peer pressure. thinking its rude/ cringe/ uncool to turn down smthn like this bc all the rest of the guys r doing it." but after a rewatch of the scene in dps where theyre all walking outside, it started having some merit in my mind! in that scene, keating does a sort of imitation of cameron when he first starts to walk, something like "am i doing this right?", "am i walking weird?", etc. (paraphrasing ofc.) so i sort of took that aspect and applied it to other parts of his character and found out that oh, this actually kinda makes sense!

speaking of keating and his lessons, lets talk carpe diem.

now my interpretation of cam is that he doesn't exactly *want* to apply carpe diem in his life, seeing it as an antithesis of the welton values. only joining the poets for the reasons mentioned above. however, he does indeed apply it in my eyes, but more as a fucked up reversal and dickish version which eventually ends up in him deservedly getting punched. now is this how keating intended him to interpret carpe diem? ehhhhhhhhhhhhh,, it's complicated, let's talk about the context a bit.

this part is more theorising than anything, so take it with a few grains of salt if u wish.

cam quite obviously is a pretty big stickler for the rules, which i believe is a result of outside influence. id like to thank @lovech1ld for reminding me of this! cam's parents/ grandparents/ guardians are noticably older than the other poets, which, in my eyes, makes a heavy emphasis on following the rules make a lot more sense (respect your elders type shit.) so this, combined with the inherent fear of authority that most of the boys seem to have, makes him a chronic rule follower. but it goes further than that, after these ideas have been pushed for so long, i feel that cameron's started to mix up his own personal morals and values with the morals and values of welton, viewing those two things as one in the same. here's where that starts to muddy things up in terms of carpe diem.

i interpret cam's finking AS his application of carpe diem in his life, but as more of a subconscious choice. now you may be thinking "hey. mona. what?" and i UNDERSTAND! but here's my reasoning behind that. as i mentioned/ theorised before, cam has a very high opinion of his friends' idea of him, but this does eventually change after neil's passing. his subconscious carpe diem application, to put it into proper words, was a way to stick up for himself and his beliefs despite what all his friends think. again, being brought about by neils death, since he didn't choose to rat anyone out when the opportunity first presented itself during the call from god assembly. and i dont think cam sticking up for himself is inherently a bad thing!! but! since cam's idea of his morals are so clouded by welton's, this isn't actually sticking up for himself, this is just being a tattletale.

he did provide other reasoning for doing so to the poets of course, so lets talk a bit about that too. he says something along the lines of "i did it for neil" and "this is what he wouldve wanted" which is obviously bullshit, objectively. but i don't think he saw it that way, i think he genuinely believed thats what he thought neil would've wanted, as stupid of him as that was. obviously thats not what he wouldve wanted AT ALL, and why he actually thought that is FAR beyond me. but i really dont think he wouldve turned anyone in if he didnt genuinely believe it, especially considering the fact that he was PART of the dead poets. even if he was the one to confess, im sure he likely got punished as well. (which also couldve been what he wanted? tristan this is an opening to also discuss catholic cam on here bc ur reasonings for that were INCREDIBLE.)

on top of this, i really dont think that cam actually understood the weight of what turning in everyone would do. now i will say right away, hes not dumb, he knew that keating would be fired and charlie would be expelled, and that alone should've turned him away if he really wanted to honor neil. as i said before we started, he absolutely deserved to be punched and lose his friends, that was a dick move that ended up ruining two lives for a long long time, if not forever.

but.

due to him grieving, his rules = morals shtick, and fear of authority, i think he turned in the poets without giving actual, proper thought into what the consequences of that would be. which manifests itself both in the film with the final scene.

in the last scene where all of the boys stand on the desk, we see multiple shots of cam looking around and looking at everyone standing. and we (or at least i) can definitely see some sort of consideration to join them!!! he of course doesnt, and ends up choosing to sit, looking QUITE ashamed. this too can he interpreted a couple ways, either as him being embarrassed that his peers are doing this, or as him wanting to join them but knowing that he was the reason keating was fired. knowing that it would be incredibly disingenuous, even if he stood as a way to sort of apologise to keating + the poets for what he did and show that he regrets his actions, he stayed seated. and was so. so. mad at himself for it.

now i don't remember where i heard this so im not sure how to go about fact checking, but i believe the choice to keep cam seated was ultimately dylan kussman's?????? but dont take my word as gospel in terms of that, i very well could be wrong.

BUT! this gives me an opportunity to talk abt how much i love dylan kussman!!!!! nick vocalised the thought before i was able to in one of his posts, but considering the fact that i agree wholeheartedly, i'll reiterate it. i see rsl and ethan hawke constantly be praised (deservedly!) for their understanding of the inner workings of their characters, especially reflected in the desk set scene. and while YES ABSOLUTELY, i think dylan needs this praise as well. dylan was the PERFECT casting choice for cameron and i will shout that from the rooftops until my voice goes hoarse. so so so many of his little mannerisms, facial expressions, ways of speaking, soooo many etceteras are just so. so. CAMERON! even the most comprehensive directorial choices cant top an actor's inherent understanding of a character and reflection of that in their performance. good god! i think my new dream in life is to ask dylan about how he came about properly embodying cameron and his process in doing so.

with my dylan fanfare over, that about wraps up my thoughts on cam in terms of the film itself. HOWEVER. i have lots and lots of thoughts after a long convo with tristan about certain headcanons and post-canon theories and whatever. will probably touch on those but i dont really have my thoughts properly collected enough, so that wont be until later.

ugly sonic is better than the minecraft movie

i cannot stress enough how fucking angry the trailers make me. the only enjoyment i get from watching them is gawking at how insanely awful the whole thing is. it's uncanny, it's gross, it feel disrespectful to the entire spirit of what minecraft is supposed to be. "flint and steel" was the only thing that got a laugh out of me, not because it was genuinely funny, but more of like a "what the fuck lmao" type of moment.

every trailer has chipped away my already incredibly low faith more and more, to the point that i'm actually offended that they're pushing out into theaters.

ugly sonic may have put me into disbelief, but everything related to the minecraft movie has upset me so much. like. it's not hard to make a good movie for minecraft. even parkour civilization, as overstimulating and cheesy and ridiculous as it is, is so much better. because it embraces how cheesy it is and does it well enough. and i've yet to watch the whole thing because, as i've said, i find it slightly overstimulating. and there are so many series and videos and genuine works of art related to minecraft already out there and it baffles me that a multi BILLION dollar game has a movie that looks this bad.

hermitcraft, life series, stampy's lovely world, white pine, parkour civ, the librarian's from the fog, artimator, 100 days challenges, horror mod series, garfilled, zeemyth, horror args from andrewgaming to the one with the noodle moon anomalies to oldroot, mcc, the fallen kingdoms saga, fucking mincraft story mode. all of these and more embody the actual nature of mincraft so much better because even if modded or altered it's still minecraft. it still has that minecraft vibe that none of the trailers have been able to provide. i can't tell you what exactly the vibe is, but it's there. the movie just feels like those shitty clickbait videos that prey on children for views and money. there's none of the heart, the serenity, the feeling of possibility and beauty that this 15 year old game about building blocks has given so many people.

this game means so much to me. and this movie clearly doesn't care about anyone but the most impressionable, gullible of children. this movie isn't minecraft. it doesnt even look anything like the game.

minecraft is about surviving. struggling. spawning into a world for the first time and being scared of creepers and skeletons. it's running from ghasts, raiding mineshafts, building bigger and better houses. getting spooked by cave noises, swearing up and down to your friends that no, herobrine is real, i saw him and he killed my dog. spawning the wither for the first time, failing to kill it, and running away from everything you had ever known to escape it. discovering the world borders, building an army of dogs, sneaking the tablet late at night to follow a build tutorial. creating a world just to blow it up and cover it with lava. build a hotel out of colorful wool. typeing "deez nuts" into the seed generator to see what happens. typing your name to see what happens. running from the warden, fighting the warden, flying with an elytra for the first time, getting swarmed by phantoms because you've been sucked into a project for several hours. sitting in your room while it rains outside, panicking with your friends because your all backed into a cave, running out of torches and food while mobs close in on all sides. those 2 week long hyperfixation sessions. learning better build techniques. trying out mods for the first time, playing on public servers.

that's minecraft. not... whatever the movie has going on. like i don't even like piglins that much and i feel bad for them getting the short end of the stick in the movie like that.

and don't even get me started on the villagers. dear god.

at least they cared enough to fix sonic. minecraft couldn't give less of a fuck, and it shows.

i haven’t sent in an ask to any account in awhile, so i’m hoping you can point me in the direction or provide some clarifications. ever since learning all is a seeming appearance- just no-thing, my dreams have been erratic. i dream multiple if not twenty times a night. it’s as if i spend years in a dream, just to wake up into this seeming life. it has helped me realize that there is no difference between a dream and the waking life. it is so bizarre yet intriguing. now, i have established (in my experiences) that there is no physical. only the seeming appearance of it.

i travel to all types of places within my awareness and there is one i frequent the most. a “dream life” if you will. since there is absolutely no-thing, it means that the appearance of my current life as well as the dream life are both non-existence. they share no differences, only oneness. i do understand that the identification with the illusionary senses is what hinders people, so with that said may i ask: how does one go about ridding one appearance to only gaze upon another? for clarification i mean how may i put an end to this old life, and to only bask in the new?

i have inquired upon this question a bit, and from what i understand- since there is no-thing, there is nothing to get rid of or stop. there’s nothing actually happening, only the seeming appearance of it. so as long as THAT does not take the illusionary life to be THAT, (but it also is? that’s where i get messed up) so it is. the old life is seemingly gone, and replaced with the new, as for THAT everything is instant. i have waltzed with this for a bit, and this is going to sound so ironic. but there is no change within the illusionary senses. there is no reason to doubt when abiding in Self, but sometimes this culmination of thoughts and personalities does doubt and become scared- because there is no difference to them. but i hope that does not matter, because the difference is already there for THAT.

my question reminds me of the seeming experience i have been having with dreams. there is no ridding of the dreams, it does that by itself. i honestly do not know what i was about to ramble about.

you seem to understand this intellectually and thats always the first step! the reason you dont 'see' it is because whilst you believe that you are Self and everything is an illusion, you don't know it yet. theres still a fear of completely letting go and surrendering in case it doesnt work out.

That's because One is observing 'things' from a place of already being Whole. There is no want for anything and no desire, You just are and if you want, you can choose a different movie.

First i shallablamkdabdomdb I Think. I brainstorm. Im like. How does this character behave and act towards their everyday surroundings. 🤔🤨.... and then im like BAM I GOT YOU NOW!!!!! Sooo for the ram , for example- shes around 17 and is like ,, Shes very messy yet energetic ,, a god of war at her age makes her very energetic and outgoing since she has all this power (and well i guess it doesnt help she has adhd but-) so i was thinking about her pose as something rlly silly and dynamic

As i got used to drawing poses it was actually smth i learned from a couple of my moots- one of my moots got a similiar ask like this nd i took it with a big bag of rice and RAN ,,, Its all about me wanting to make dynamic poses- im not the best at fluid bests For Now but IM GETTING THERE ,

But yes sorry; thinking about my poses, sketch it twice, begin linearting- but after i finish lineart, i create different layers of coloring because my brain (ocd) tells me things and if i dont do This Thag Way I Will Be Killed On Spot With A Nuclear Ray From The Sky

I do lineart first, draw the face over on another layer, do hair color first, then body color under the hair color,, after im finished with that i then go HEEERRRM. NOW. Does it deserve a little razzle dazzling? A little speckle spackle? Do i want to render it? Do i want to change the lineart color to highlight the characters main color scheme? Yap yap yap my process isnt ALWAYS like this but its usually that way-

For allure though i can use a good example for this- when drawing allure—if i want to line their hair with the darker beige—i create two more layers and then draw over their hActually this doesnt make any sense I MEAN. WELL. I COULD PROBABLY JUST SHOW THE TIMELAPSE. Oh yeah I overuse the undo and redo button as well as using a FUCK ton of references from pinterest

But heres what my canvas looks like atm :-] if i want to make size comparisons i lower the opacity of the finished art and sketch over that with how tall or small the character is- aaliyah here is the shortest and smallest so to make sure i did her height and body size right i use the transform tool to slide her across the grid and go "is she smaller than i made her ??? Is she TALLER than i made her?? Did i manage to do her body weight correctly???" Etc etc

For something like this i actually kept th sketch BWAHAHA- i didnt really feel like tracing over it again (at least more or so properly-) so i shrugged, went Fuck It, then made my sketch the lineart layer. I put the flat color beneath it afterwards, put Alpha Lock on so i can shade, and bada bing Bada Boom ,, background comes after everything else (BAD HABIT) (COMPOSITION AND PERSPECTIVE R HEAVILY INFLUENCED BY WHERE MY CHARACTER STANDS-)

Ok. Some preface, again, doesnt seem the darkest but I did have a lot of ideas of how this is Fucked and was never fully expressed in tbe notes. This is also mainly discduo centric (oops) but the notes rarely have him mentioned until end of it. The reason for that is the notes only really have a kind of prologue/backstory set up and thats all I wrote down...

XD god experimenting on his half gods/godlings

Dream trapped in facility to learn more about what makes a god, it's all he knows

- XD is like his father

- (VERY) loosely based on elfen lied, at least the relationship bit between XD and Dream

Dream still needs "outside" interactions to fully develop his godhood

XD has asked for...assistance from other gods to "help" his godling

- Blood God sends his godling techno

- goddess of death asks her godling/husband philza if he can provide anyone (she doesn't fully trust xd to be kind to phil for whatever reason) and philza sends his adopted(? Not sure yet) son wilbur

The actual story starts AFTER wilbur has died

Prequel-ish:

Wilbur gave a kind of affection others didn't to Dream and he(dream) craves it in an unhealthy codependent way

Dream thinks it's *his* fault Wilbur killed himself, although he doesn't truly understand why, just that he's a bad god and isn't providing the necessary research to help XD

Dream knows *extremely* little about the outside world

He's chained(kinda) up in a room and cannot move, some high tech helmet is on him to measure his brain waves(doodle this later)

He has been in this contraption ever since he was created and grew up in it

Wilbur isnt a godling, but isnt fully mortal either, he's blessed by the goddess but he can still die

He's the closest thing to mortal that Dream has met

Techno is friends with dream and they are close and dream was able to develop and open up his personality cause of techno

There's a type of comfort techno gives dream

Also a double edged sword cause in dreams eyes, Techno is a Good Godling. Something he'll never achieve

Techno can walk around and read books and leave the room and talk with his patron whenever he wants(as far as dream knows)

Dream is Bad because he is trapped here and isn't ready to go outside the room. He is bad at being a god and that's why he can't leave yet. Once he's Good he can leave....surely...

Wilbur is not godly. But he can leave. He is special, cherished and loved and Momentary. Dream loves him in a way he doesn't understand. He wishes to be like Wilbur. If he weren't a god, he wouldn't have to be good or bad. Why does Wilbur cry at his knees praying? He can't move to make the tears go away, he doesn't get it....

They converse a lot, dream learns about Life:tm: and the meaning of it, as per described by Wilbur. But Life is mean to wilbur as Dream is learning. But he doesn't get why, it just is. If Dream becomes a Good God, he can help Wilbur and get rid of the Mean in Wilbur's life

Wilbur is just some Not Well Adjusted Adult

- living and surrounded by heavenly people takes a toll on the mental health oops

- feeling of insignificance and that he will be forgotten once his life is over

- smh he spreading his edgy ideology to pure unknowning dream stop that you're gonna make both of yourselves More depressed

- The equivalent of some grown guy venting to a 10 yr old smh(dream isn't 10 but has that innocence in a sense)

-Wilbur also becomes horribly codependent on Dream since this is the only Godly figure who actually listens to him

-he realizes Dream doesn't fully understand, but does see dreams genuine want to help wilbur in any way he can

"I'll be Good Wilbur! And then I can help, I'll make it better!"

Wilbur does come to a sudden realization how fucked up it is for Dream to be stuck here. Maybe more for selfish reasons, but he wishes for Dream to be out (maybe to just be Wilbur's)

- to an extent, everyone knows it's messed up, but you can't go against XD and it has now become Commonplace for this godling to be locked up. It's just one godling(as far as they know) going through this....it's fineeeee

Wilbur ends up killing himself(or does he dun dun dun)

Techno is sent to tell Dream the news by XD but he beats around the bush as he's trying...(love awkward techno <3)

XD then appears in the room upset by Techno's lack of [word I can't remember] and breaks the news to Dream.

Dream doesn't really understand the gravity of death in the moment, as much as Wilbur did bring it up

XD: Wilbur is dead my dear Godling.

Dream: oh....when will he return, Papa?

Techno: .......he won't. He's...he...-

XD: There is no returning from death my dear Godling. Wilbur will cease to visit and you will forget and continue on without him.

Xd leaves in a blink and dream doesn't quite digest it yet, he doesn't *get* it

Wilbur isn't coming back....why? Was it his fault...?

He looks at Techno hoping for something more

But techno looks distressed, eyes scrunched and eyes shiny....that doesn't make sense. Techno is not allowed to have that face. He knows wilbur and Techno were close too. They both would visit at once sometimes and speak with each other in ways dream doesn't quite understand. A familiarity that Dream has always craved.

But surely Techno can still see Wilbur right? Wilbur just won't visit anymore....Wilbur isn't visiting....but techno can tell him about Wilbur after Wilbur's dead is gone....?

Dream: Techno....?

Techno will flinch and look at dream in the eyes and Dream will see such a sadness that he doesn't *get*

Where is Wilbur...?

Techno can see Dream's confusion, he knows XD is cruel and will not explain the sadness of death to his son godling. XD has purposefully not bonded with Dream. XD is horrible.

Techno will take a breathe and then steady his voice. Dream is meant to stay pure for this experiment as per XD's orders. Whatever that means.... XD is not Techno's God but he is under his domain and he still has a friend here that he needs to look after. He will not leave his friend alone. He *cannot* fail another. He will find a solution....

Techno: Wilbur is gone dream. No one will ever see him again. Only the Goddess may comfort him now....

Dream: oh....is it because of me?

Dream won't get it. He will continue to hope for wilbur to return. If he becomes Better and Good. Wilbur will Return. He will become as good as his Papa and as good as the Goddess so he can comfort wilbur instead!

Techno: No... no dream it isn't because of you. Wilbur....was going through something. None of us could've helped...he's gone Dream. Wilbur *cannot* come back. I'm sorry.

Dream is tired of not getting it.

But he does. He does get it. Wilbur described being dead and death many times. But dream doesn't think that description fits Wilbur. So Wilbur can't be that. He *cant*

(But he is. Wilbur is Dead.)

The monitors will go off like crazy and Techno will be forced to leave.

Dream will scream. His Wilbur is *gone*.

Dream will enter a deep depression.

He will need to be forced fed and XD will scold him and Dream will cry as his Papa tells him he will never be worthy of leaving the room. Dream will forever be Bad. Thats why he couldn't save Wilbur. It Is His Fault.

Techno will visit more often and fight to stay longer. He's been meaning to break Dream out, but the trouble it'll cause his own God prevents him. But he might say fuck it anyways.....

But Dream needs someone now. And Techno thinks he knows someone else who is equally in despair. He knows XD has been badgering Phil to bring someone else. But Phil refuses, he is also Depressed but handling it way better. But when Techno asks, Phil trusts Techno more.

Techno just hopes this isn't a bad idea and that XD doesn't fucking blow up this person....

So Techno will tell Dream, hey Nerd. A new person will be visiting tomorrow. It was a pain to get him to agree, but...maybe you'll like him? He's really annoying at first, he still is really. But you guys might share stuff in common funny enough.

And dream will be despondent. Suspended by his chains and motionless, emotionless. He looks dead. Techno will feed him stew while talking with him. How he spoke to philza to get permission. How XD approved of the person(but XD doesn't know how loud this guy is techno will joke)

Dream will only eat from technos hand now. In the recess of his mind, it's wilbur. It's wilbur talking to him, even if the mannerisms and voice is wrong.

Someone new is coming. Why though. He has everyone he wants. He doesn't need anyone else. He'll be a Bad god forever. No one new will change that.

Then a mortal visits.

Main plot:

Tommy is depressed as shit. His (kinda adoptive?) brother wilbur was found at the shores of a river. He jumped from a bridge to kill himself. He was at school when they found him. He hasn't been to school since. He hasn't been anywhere. It's been about 3 months. He thinks he might have to repeat the year, that would fucking suck...Phil is trying to get him back out there. But fuck Phil. It's his fault. He killed wilbur....everyone did.

But then Techno visits him specifically. And Tommy thinks Techno is awesome and amazing and he doesn't visit home for *him*. He visits for Phil or wilbur. Tommy is just....there pestering Techno for attention. Tommy blames himself a lot for Wilbur's death.

Techno knows that. Has seen both sides of the coin. All the good and bad with wilbur. The cruelness he possessed.

Wilbur was not good to Tommy.

Tommy will learn way later why Techno would visit so much when Wilbur was alive.

But now Techno is visiting Tommy! And they go on a stroll in the nearby woods.

Techno will say he's still on his Assignment.

And Tommy stops. While Tommy blames the whole fucking world(including himself) for Wilbur's death. He blames the Assignment more. Ever since Wilbur had to leave everyday to go to the Assignment, he's come back different. He isn't as dumb as people make him out to be. But he just didn't want to acknowledge the change. Wilbur became meaner to him over time ever since he got that fucking Assignment. Wilbur started saying meaner shit to him, started hitting him, stop calling him all the fun nicknames. Wilbur....Wilbur was scary. And Tommy wasn't enough to help him. Tommy lost Wilbur to that fucking Assignment.

The most blame comes from that fucking thing. That's the *real* reason Wilbur is *gone*.

Tommy will feel his anger swell and before he has a chance to curse the fuck out of Techno,

"Do ya want to come with me tomorrow?"

And Tommy's anger pops like a balloon. He's so taken a back.

"What the fuck?"

And he'll agree. After a bit a of yelling and screaming.... He's gonna see first hand what destroyed wilbur and fucking kill it himself. Destroy it to shreds.

(Techno will keep quiet about Tommy's feelings on this whole subject from XD haha....XD's special project is in no danger whatsoever, this is a great plan!)

the irresistible, self-destructive, smart mouthed, pretentious, rage fueled, prideful, intelligent, and overly sensitive fuck:

a character analysis.

first things first, i'd like to emphasize that jeremy allen white (JAW) is a phenomenal actor. his ability to articulate the complex emotional turmoil of layered characters like lip, or carmen, is insanely impressive.

something that makes shameless (US) as a series so unique is the writers and actors appreciation and utilization of imperfection. as siblings of a broken family, everyone (for the most part) has dimension. generally, the writers do a pretty good job at giving characters both redeeming and unpleasant qualities, making the show feel very real and jarring at times.

now, i congratulate the writers on this for one specific reoccurring discussion: the effects of generational poverty & the damage it inflicts on "the american dream."

lip is a painfully accurate depiction of the wasted potential that is the youth of capitalistic america. raised with 5 other siblings, he's been taught to provide for his family, while simultaneously learning that being selfish is the key to survival. he doesn't have time to appreciate the mundane details of a little life. he's excruciatingly smart and yet hes too fucking prideful and egotistical, while also having absolutely nothing to his name, to accept help from anyone. if he doesnt have complete control in any situation, he just believes no one is on his level.

lip believes hes meant to suffer, and happiness is not something he should value. its like he thinks actually enjoying life defeats the purpose of being "tough" and "dominant." almost as if amounting to anything more than a poor south sider will disintegrate any valuable life experience hes had. creating this outer shell of a scheming, plotting, sly version of himself is his navigation through the world, through life. his sense of rage comes not from inherent evil or desire for violence, but passion. intense emotional drive for people, even when they inevitably hurt him. he can be loving, genuine, nurturing. but it's unusual.

love isn't just scarce. it isn't just frightening.

it's new.

when lip loves someone, them loving him back isn't even a requirement. it's an option. a bonus. this is a side-effect of generational poverty, more specifically in abusive households. lip has been taught to salvage recourses, only sharing when absolutely necessary. but his exposure to unconditional, romantic love is so small that he hasn't learned the rules to love.

however, pertaining back to selfishness for survival, he's only capable of loving those who give back. maybe not in requited love, but with sexual relationships, for example. we can also see that lip is more likely to attach himself to those he has to convince to love him. (i'm absolutely hating on karen btw), because immediate requited feelings are bound to fuck him over ten fold.

all in all, i've always loved lip as a character and his archetype as a concept.
