irt: pinof being manufactured at the end, 100% absolutely and i dont think dan would deny that either. i think what he meant by "deciding we love it" was more about like. deciding not to view it as just another part of work that they have to do, and while pinof 10 still feels like theyre putting on a face (thats like unavoidable at that point in their careers) it was definitely made with the intention of loving it rather than obligation to anyone if that makes sense! i think pinof 9 is closer to feeling a bit more authentic and closer to how they currently are, and since they planned on 10 to be the final one they put a bit more pressure on themselves that comes across in the video

which is pretty special. "Earning the right to quit" sounds kinda fucked up when you consider where in Dan's psyche that has its roots, but he and Phil have both always been conscious that they have young and impressionable fans, and as far as was in their power have tried to be kind and understanding to us, sometimes at great personal cost. thinking back to the first "what dan and Phil text each other" video is so funny to me because it was released at a time when no doubt fans would assume they text each other cute shit and they're all coupley in secret! and then the video comes out and it's THAT. i regretti the spaghetti. rat emoji. dramatic retelling of a yoghurt Dan ate. slorn. amorngus. hog emoji. 'yon' 'pote' like... as with everything about dan and phil they're so much more ridiculous in private that we could've ever imagined back then.

This is a scene from Federico Garcia Lorca’s 1933 surreal drama, Bodas de sangre (Blood Wedding). Set in rural Spain, the story concerns a doomed love triangle swirling around the nameless Bride, Groom and Leonardo Felix, who once was in love with the Bride but is now married to another. Driving the tragedy is the Groom’s bitter Mother, who has lost her husband and older son to an ancient feud with the Felix family. Lorca loved his psychedelic Romanticism and this play does not disappoint. During the chase scene all manner of bizarreness happens, from a trio of otherworldly lumberjacks to the Moon making a walk-on appearance.

Perhaps the strangest, though, is Death herself, who takes the appearance of a curvaceous pauper; except for some stage directions, however, she is only referred to as the “Beggar Woman.” As the scene opens, two young women sit, spinning wool, while the Little Girl (who turns up in the play whenever a comedic line is needed) runs about being sassy. So many. Off the top of my head, some would be Dan’s freak out after learning they needed all of the skips in the impossible quiz. Most of the high google feud video. Specific, but this past spooky week when Dan was falling off his chair and he goes “help me you stupid fuck.” When they reacted to that Osama Bin Laden joke from pinof 1. Phil’s “what did you drop on the floor? Your cringe card?” That whole section from the most recent baking video where Phil is like “Santa is an algorithm, anagram” and “Oppenheimer invented gravity.” “Yon.” “Pote.” Also from the texting video, no one every talks about it, but when they’re discussing the delivery guy dropping their food, there’s a solid five seconds of phil looking absolutely devastated and I laugh every time. There’s actually so many that I can’t fit

L - Lion; What is your favorite item/running gag/etc. that's ever been a part of Dan and Phil branding?

Dan being jealous over the girl in Prague I think is the funniest despite being the newest. Dan hiding the golden pig and phil taking it out also holds a special place in my heart. “Dan vs Phil” being nonsensical noises always makes me chuckle. Phil drinking out of vases was also so funny and I wish they would bring it back.
