the entire date was everything y/n could wish for, who wouldn’t want a high school musical theme date. a laptop perfectly placed in front of them playing some romcom that’s already nearing the end, y/n feeding minji a chocolate covered strawberry as they continue their conversation, the movie no longer catching their interests. as domestic and sweet as it is, minji was still nervous, despite leaning towards y/n and taking a few glances towards the korean-australian that’s been occupying her mind. y/n was talking about songwriting, since minji is currently co writing a song for their comeback.

“kiss was just- is there something on my face?”

“hm?” y/n could only laugh, looking down at minji who was slowly reaching for her face, tucking a strand of her hair.

“have i ever told you that you’re pretty?” that woke minji up from her thoughts, processing what y/n had uttered. playfully pushing y/n’s face away as she sat up properly, fixing her hair and looking at y/n, there was a glimmer in her eye. oh, wow.

“am i no longer your cutie cuddly minji?” y/n laughed as she stood up, stretching her back, and pulling her phone out.

“you’re still my cutie, but clearly you’re also my pretty cuddly minji.” looking up, y/n had a certain aura, maybe it was the lighting how it perfectly shows how angelic the nation’s heartthrob is, holding her hand out for her. she gladly took it, slowly standing up with the help of y/n, while her other hand, still holding her phone, played a familiar scene.

“can i have this dance, kim minji?” y/n pulled minji close, one arm around her waist.

“you’re so cliche, sim y/n.” the other holding minji’s hand.

“says the one that decided on a hsm theme date.” and little space left in between.

minji took the lead, singing to gabriella’s part while y/n sang troy’s part and with how much the taller girl loves the movie, it’s no surprise she remembers the lyrics by heart. it felt as if y/n was singing it to her and not just a song she chose to play because of the entire thing. as much as she hates to admit it, she’s falling fast for y/n. it felt too fast for minji, the way the song was nearing its end, y/n slowing down as minji pull her close.

maintaining eye contact while the song changes into another hsm track by troy and gabriella, minji moved both her arms around y/n’s neck. slowly pulling her close, leaving no space, looking into her eyes to her lips and back.

“fuck it.” minji felt soft lips on top of hers, a strong smell of lavender, lips taste like strawberries, and the way she’s being pulled closer. and y/n is kissing her back.

the smell of pear with a hint of freesia, a familiar scent, a familiar feeling, as much as y/n enjoys this, she must not fall for it. slowly pulling away, with swollen lips and a light tint to the pair, she knows it's too late to leave.

“i like you, y/n.”

“minji… i don’t want to hurt you.

MOVIE REVIEW | A Year-End Medley (2021)

Following the structure of Love Actually but using quintessential korean elements, A Year End Medley follows a group of people learning to live through heartbreak and disappointment, first love and second chances, and figuring out the best way to support your friends.

This film knows what it is and doesn't try to be anything else. The director fully understand what needs to be done to get the viewer invested in every storyline. That's a difficult task when you have a cast as big and star-studded as this one, where everyone is bringing their A+ game. Even the random 30 second cameos that you don't expect are really fun to watch.

The music is fun and catchy, making you feel at ease and immediately in the happy holidays mood.

I really liked this film. It left me a big smile and a feel good warmth when it ended. I recommend it.

Study introduces lead-coated nickel catalyst for enhanced hydrogen evolution reaction efficiency

In a recent collaboration, a research team developed a hydrogen evolution reaction catalyst that minimizes degradation caused by reverse current in alkaline water electrolysis systems. The team consists of Professor Yong-Tae Kim, Dr. Sang-Mun Jung, and Yoona Kim, an MSc, from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) and is led by Professor Jeong Woo Han from Seoul National University. Their research was published as a cover paper in the journal Advanced Functional Materials on July 3. The electricity generated from the renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal are not constant; it fluctuates with weather and climate conditions. To harness and utilize this energy, it must be reliably stored and delivered to the grid, and hydrogen plays a crucial role in this process.
