saw someone say they're we're happy Alicent's and Otto's deaths forced them "realize what they had done" and like...
Otto's one thing, I get the animosity. but Alicent? your getting hot and bothered over her realizing she failed, she failed to save her children, she failed to protect them, to them alive? that she tried so hard, so fucking hard, making every hard decision, trying to get between her children and the fate they were damned to by Viserys and Rhaenyra? that she damned her kids, who were already damned to die to begin with, and had to suffer the guilt of them dying to her own hand? that she's going to drive herself mad with grief over her children, her grandchildren?
like... it's not satisfying (especially for show Alicent) watching a woman go so mad with grief it literally kills her because she fought with everything she had to save her children only for them to die anyway. ever since her father's exile, when Rhaenyra's lies took Viserys's favor, when Viserys ignored the Rhaenyra's sons bastardhood at the risk of the whole house, or when Luke took Aemond's eye and Viserys demanded good will; she knew her children's lives were forfeit. then Daemon killed Vaemond and her children's coffins were built, catching cobweb's all the while. she knew and she fought it desperately, taking risk after risk, living in fear until her moment came, she could out Aegon on the thrown, she could protect her kids, maybe, just fucking maybe they'd be safe... only for it to lead to a war that would kill her entire family.
her death, slow and tragic as it was, is heartbreaking. she didn't deserve it, she deserved to feel safe, to feel as though she could allow her past friend take the thrown without her children being at risk to feel as though she and her children weren't being circled by wolves and picked at by vulture's. she didn't deserve to live alone and die alone. she didn't deserve to have her hands coated in her children's blood.

You do not kill and yet the bodies only pile higher. Victims of those who cannot be helped. Of those who refuse help. Of those you insist you save.
You don't kill, right?
Of the 1595 people executed since 1976, I can prove twenty innocent.
And I know there are more, but my resources are limited, and every day the trails grow colder and colder. The courts have so little interest in proving the innocence of people who are dead, and even I know that I must attend the living first, but I hear them.
Can't you? Crying from the evidence for absolution.
I do not murder. I will not be a weapon with no safety.
I will not be Gotham's guillotine.
There are people who deserve to die, and yet I will not kill them. And there are so many who are gone who deserved to live. I can deal out death as a punishment, but I cannot give life.
Can you give them life?
State execution is used as a bludgeon to murder people just as often as false imprisonment. Even where the legislation is just (hah!), how can this punishment ever fit the crime? How would you take that risk?
And if you can- even those who can, those who master the secrets of resurrection? He treats treat human existence so carelessly. Callous. Cruel. As if life does not matter.
And people's lives should matter.
If death is permanent, then it is a heavy sentence. If death is impermanent, then it twists how one values life.
Will you bury the dead beneath more dead? Will a mountain of corpses satisfy you? Will you look around at a city with no living person in it and think to yourself 'ah yes, all the monsters are dead'? Will you be the only living soul in Gotham and think 'at last we are safe'?
Because if you try, I will stop you.

carla cant even be herself in private.when carla talks, she hears adas voice. when carla looks in the mirror, she sees adas body. her entire physical form is just a constant reminder that the only way this man she loved would ever want her was by letting him destroy her body and build it up in the image of the woman he was obsessed with.

There are a lot of objectively stupid and hilarious features of the oceangate incident as it's currently unfolding and I do think the idea of having to go rescue billionaires and other rich folk from their own bad decisions is aggravating but I also think death via slow suffocation thousands of feet under the ocean is a horrific way to die that nobody deserves and I especially feel bad for the teenage passenger

SAYER is basically like.
SAYER: you are cringe, resident. you are not, as your insignificant species might designate you, Pog. Champ. please consider refraining from taking this L, as it would be most... unfortunate if you did. as you now understand, there is no time for not being “based” on Typhon. now, resident, please put yourself in mortal peril for your assignment- or, as i prefer to call it, the meme. there you go. that was not so difficult, was it? perhaps, if you survive this meme, you will be promoted to Typhon’s “gamer” department. again, that is... if you survive.
