Something’s wrong.
Dean can sense it the moment he steps into his shared room with Y/N. He looks carefully around the room, trying to find a clue as to what’s got his hunter instincts in high gear. It looks no different then when he and Sam left three days ago, and yet, every bone in his body is telling him something is off.
“Y/N?” He calls out hesitantly as he makes his way towards her old room down the hall. She’d been in the process of turning it into a nursery for the last month and had a tendency to get lost in paint samples and baby supplies. As he closes in on the room, he can feel himself becoming more on edge and instinctively reaches for his gun. “Sweetheart? You in there?”
Dean’s heart sinks further into his stomach as he reaches the newly-converted nursery. The usually meticulously organized room was in a state of disarray as if there had been some sort of struggle. Dean calls out for Y/N again, willing her to give him some kind of sign that he was overreacting to what he was seeing.
He quickly pulls out his phone dialing Y/N’s number, he and Sam should have never gone on that hunt, Y/N was due in less than a month, but she insisted that they go.
This is Y/N, sorry I can’t come to the phone, if it’s an emergency please contact Sam or Dean…
“Fuck,” Dean mutters, waiting for her message to end. “Hey sweetheart,” he does his best to keep his voice steady. “Me and Sammy just got back and I just got a feeling…” he takes a deep breath. “Call me back. Love you.”
Dean pockets his phone, before taking in the room again, trying to convince himself that it’s his new-father instincts and not his hunter instincts that have him so on edge. That’s when he sees it: under a discarded bag, a small pool of blood. Dean’s breathing grows heavier, and he scans the room again, looking for any kind of sign of what may have happened in the room.
“Sam!” Dean yells out, his breath quickening. “Sammy!”
Sam’s behind him, skidding to a stop before taking in the sight of the room before him. Even with only a cursory glance Dean knows that Sam’s thinking the same thing as him, something’s happened to Y/N.
Dean hurries down to the infirmary, Y/N had insisted that they have everything to monitor her in the final months and in the worst-case scenario anything needed to help her deliver. The simple fetal monitor is right where they’d left it three days prior, Dean insists on listening to the heartbeat of his unborn child on an almost daily basis, letting the rapid thump thump thump put him at ease.
Dean’s phone buzzes in his back pocket, and he breathes out a sigh of relief when Y/N’s picture fills the screen. He takes a minute, calming himself, she doesn’t need to know that up until this moment he was on the verge of a panic attack.
“Sweetheart,” he smiles, “y’know you had us worried for a minute.”
There’s silence on the other end of the call, save for heavy, scratchy breathing.
“Y/N?”
“I’m sorry, Dean,” Y/N whispers, choking back a sob. “I shouldn’t’ve trusted her. Now–”
“Baby, listen to me,” Dean finds Sam in the hall and mouths trace the call, Sam nods and bolts towards the library. “Are you okay? The baby?”
“That depends on you, Dean,” an unfamiliar voice replaces Y/N’s. “Now, be a good little soldier and do as I say. Only then will your precious wife and child have a chance to make it through this unharmed.” Dean can feel his blood boiling, this is why he could never not be a hunter. He and Sam have made too many enemies over the years, and now Y/N and their baby may be paying the price.
All the fear that he felt when Y/N first told him she was pregnant comes rushing back to the surface. Dean never thought he’d get married, let alone be a father, but with Rowena keeping the demons in check, and Jack limiting the angels' interaction on Earth, with the exception of Cas, life became some version of safe for the brothers.
That’s why Y/N insisted that they take the simple salt n’ burn just one state over. She knew that they were going a little stir crazy, Bobby, Jody and Donna, had started training the next generation of hunters so that boys could retire. Dean was hesitant to leave, Y/N was only a month away from her due date, but she shooed them out the door, claiming to need her own space from her overprotective husband and brother-in-law.
“Are you listening, Dean?” The voice tuts and Dean tries to clear his head of ‘if’s’ and ‘could’ve’s’ all it’s doing is driving him crazy.
“I’m listening,” Dean repeats through gritted teeth. The voice gives coordinates to a location a few hours away and before he realizes it he’s in the Impala, ready to do whatever it takes to save his wife and baby. Sam tells Dean what he’s already sure of: this is a trap and Y/N is being used as bait. He doesn’t care, he can’t lose her, lose their baby, not when she’s done nothing more than love him.
The sun is setting when they pull up to the abandoned farmhouse, original, Dean thinks. Dean wants to go bursting in, guns ablaze, but Sam stops him, reminding him that they don’t know who or what has got Y/N, and they have to be smart. He wants nothing more than to punch his brother for suggesting that they wait even a second longer to rescue Y/N, but he lets the words sink in and reluctantly agrees.
Silver bullets, holy water, dead man’s blood, witch-killing bullets and machete’s are divided between each brother, knowing that whatever has Y/N, one of these things will most likely kill it. When they enter the farmhouse Dean’s eyes lock on Y/N, who’s against a wall, two chains around her wrists.
Dean rushes towards her, the only thing on his mind is getting her and the baby out of this place and back home. Her breathing is shallow when he reaches her, and he gently inspects her body. Gingerly, he touches her face, allowing her Y/E/C eyes to meet his and she smiles lazily at him. Knew you’d come, she whispers, and Dean leans forward to place a kiss on her forehead. His free hand lands on the swell of her belly, where he can feel a slight kick against his palm.
“I love you,” Dean says softly so that only Y/N can hear him. “I’m gonna get you outta here, sweetheart, okay?” Y/N nods slightly as Dean focuses his attention on freeing her from her bonds.
There’s a grunt behind Dean, and when he turns around, Sam’s on the ground, and there’s a somewhat familiar woman standing behind him.
“Dean Winchester,” she exclaims as two large men appear and pull him to his feet. “Been too long.”
“Jenny,” he utters, remembering one of the first cases he worked with Sam. “You look good, a little dead, but, good.”
“Always the charmer, weren’t you Dean?” She takes a step towards Y/N. “I could smell you on her the second she walked past me. Women always trust other women, made her think I was a hunter; a tragic backstory here, a name drop there, and bingo, the dumb bitch is leading me into your home.”
Dean feels his anger rising as he tugs against the two men, his eyes flicker to Sam, who slowly starts reaching for the blade next to him.
“Up,” Jenny orders and when Y/N doesn’t comply she produces a blade, and presses it against her stomach. Dean’s heart stops at the threat to Y/N and their baby. “If you want to give your baby a chance to ever see the light of day, I suggest you cooperate.”
Y/N’s legs are wobbly as she stands, tears glistening in her eyes as Jenny slowly runs the blade against her. Dean’s gaze doesn’t leave her, watching as Jenny uncuffs her, and leads her slowly over to him.
Adrenaline pumps through Dean’s veins and he frees himself from his two captors; headbutting one and throwing a punch at the other as Y/N is pushed out of the way. Sam is up on his feet and in a swift move, swings the blade through Jenny’s neck, her body falling limp to the ground. For the briefest of moments, Dean relaxes, only for a vamp to be coming at him again.
Dean can barely keep track of anything, his eyes tunneling in on the large vamp in front of him. He can hear the grunts of Sam, and the familiar sound of another vamp going down. Y/N isn’t in his line of sight, and through the blood pounding in his ears, he hears Sam call his name.
It was just the distraction that the vamp needed and he barrels towards Dean, slamming him against a wooden post. He feels something pierce his side but he keeps fighting against the vamp. As the vamp is about to take his final shot, his head is gone, and Sam is quickly resheething his blade.
Y/N cries out, cradling her stomach and even from a distance he can see the pool blood between her legs. Go, Dean orders Sam who quickly obeys.
“I think she’s in labor,” Sam mutters. “I don’t think we can get her to a hospital in time.”
Dean rushes to Y/N’s side as best he can, telling her everything will be alright. Dean returns to Baby, grabbing the first aid kit, hastily patching up the wound, and retrieving a blanket from the trunk. The pain hits him all at once, but he pushes through it, his pain doesn’t matter, all that matters is that Y/N and the baby are safe.
Y/N’s screaming out in pain, begging for someone to make it stop as Sam does his best to calm her. Dean closes the distance in only a few steps, positioning himself behind her. He takes her hands in his, whispering praises in her ear as Sam orders her to push.
Within only a few minutes, Evelyn Marie Winchester is brought into the world, wailing loudly as Sam wraps her in his flannel and hands her over to Y/N. Dean offers Sam a silent thank you as he takes in the appearance of his daughter. Evie’s the perfect combination of him and Y/N.
The moment of bliss doesn’t last long, as Sam reminds them that they still need to get Y/N and Evie to a hospital. Dean moves from his place behind Y/N and winces at the pain now radiating through his body. Sam gives him a curious look, and Dean shrugs, trying to convince his brother that he’s fine.
Dean takes Evie out of Y/N’s arms, and cradles her against him as Sam helps Y/N to her feet. Dean takes a few steps before legs start to give and his vision starts to blur. The last thing Dean hears before everything going black is Y/N and Sam calling out his name.
Tumblr media
Five Years Later
Dean watches as Evie runs around the backyard of their new home, chasing Miracle and laughing hysterically. Y/N was right, the Bunker was no place to raise a little girl, she deserves everything that he and Sam never had, and he is determined to give it all to her. Evie will never know what it’s like to go to bed hungry or cold, or wonder when she’ll see her parents again.
The opening of the front door tears Dean’s attention away from his daughter, Sam’s voice filling the otherwise silent house. He turns to see his brother carrying a ridiculous amount of gifts followed by a very pregnant Eileen with a shaggy haired toddler attached to her hip.
“Unca De!” Little Bobby tries to squirm out of Eileen’s hold and she carefully lets him down. The toddler bolts for Dean, wrapping his arms around Dean’s leg. “S’Evie’s birfday!”
“I know, buddy!” Dean laughs at his nephew, “how ‘bout you go tell her ‘happy birthday’?” Dean opens the side door and lets Bobby out.
“You are going to spoil my daughter rotten, Sam Winchester,” Y/N appears from the back of the house. Dean’s still amazed that even after years together, Y/N can take his breath away.
“Well, if I had another niece or nephew, I could spread the love.”
“I think you’ve spread enough love, Sammy,” Dean jokes as he heads into the kitchen, Sam following behind him. “I mean, you’re basically having your kids back-to-back.”
“Three years is hardly back-to-back,” Sam reaches out to grab a beer. “You’re just mad ‘cause I one-upped you.”
“Actually,” Dean peeks into the living room. “We’ll be even. Y/N’s pregnant.”
The words have hardly left Dean’s mouth before Sam’s engulfed him in a hug. Dean’s positive that Eileen and Y/N are having a similar conversation at this very same moment, but what neither Sam or Eileen know is that they have a bet on who will crack first.
“Just found out a couple of weeks ago,” Dean continues with the ruse. “She wanted to wait until after yours was born, didn’t want to take Eileen’s thunder or something.” Sam nods, seemingly understanding.
Hours later, after the last present has been opened, and the final piece of cake has been eaten, Sam and Eileen take a very sleepy Bobby home. Evie sits at the kitchen table, listening carefully and a smile growing on her face as Dean and Y/N tell her that in six months she’ll have a little brother or sister.
“Or both,” Y/N corrects with a knowing smirk.
“Both?”

The Tragedy of Rey Palpatine
Tumblr media
I really, really, like Rey Skywalker, in concept. I think she could have been an amazing character and the perfect torch-bearer for the mythos going forward. After The Force Awakens, i was all in with this new trio of characters. Say what you will about Abrams, dude knows how to build a character. He knows how to write a story and Rey’s began wonderfully. She had all of the potential to be held in the same esteem as Mara Jade, Leia Organa, and Ahsoka Tano. Hell, Disney even introduced Chelli Aphra in the Vader comics, another brilliant, female character of Asian descent. Each of these characters were fleshed out, nuanced, and felt real. There is a humanity to them and, i imagine that’s where Abrams wanted to take Rey. Then The Last Jedi happened and ruined almost everything. I think it did a great service for Kylo Ren, overall, but everything else got a big fat Rian Johnson/Kathleen Kennedy sh*t all over it.
Tumblr media
Abrams set up a ton of intriguing plots to explore going forward. The hints that Finn may be Force sensitive, the mystery of how Mas got a hold of Anakin’s lightsaber after Vader cut Luke’s hand off in Empire, who the f*ck was Snoke; All threads that could have been elaborated upon to embellish the new characters and give an opportunity to pass the torch on with the new characters. More than anything, the enigma of Rey Skywalker could have driven this trilogy of films in a direction for the ages. The seeds were there for greatness. Why did she hear Obi Wan in that flashback? Why was she spared by the Knights of Ren? Why did Ren know exactly what girl that trooper reported about? The only answer we got was that Rey was the spawn of a Palpatine clone and it was stupid. That reveal was the dumbest sh*t in Rise of Skywalker and there was a lot of dumb sh*t in that movie. Rise spent way too much time apologizing for what Last Jedi did to the mythos and had literally no time to fix the characters going forward. That’s how bad Kathleen Kennedy let Rian Johnson f*ck up.
Tumblr media
I like the Last Jedi as a space opera. Hell, i even like it as a Star Wars side story in the vein of Solo or Rogue One. If those events happened in between VII and VIII, cool. But to be a mainline entry? Are you kidding? It just gets so much wrong about the overall lore while simultaneously sabotaging all of the character development and good will fostered by it’s predecessor. The level of f*ckery in The Last Jedi is ind of amazing. At it’s core, The Last Jedi s a fanfic, filled with OC characters, trying to “subvert” expectation to be more than it can or has any right to be. Rian Johnson wanted to make his movie, mythos be damned. Trilogy be damned. Kathleen Kennedy was okay with all of that as long as Johnson pushed her agenda and virtue signaled for all the “Girl Bosses” out there, which he did. The end result was a usual cool, collected, Resistance Ace, Poe Dameron, literally committing treason. We got a regression in the character of Finn, a former Stormtrooper turned rebel scum, a traitor to the First Order who literally got into a lightsaber duel with Vader’s grandson to protect his maybe-love interest, try to runaway like a f*cking coward, only to be tasered into a drooling mess by Rian Johnson’s Jar Jar binx. And the sh*t they did to Luke? That mess is criminal and an entire essay for another time. The Last Jedi f*cked everything up, forcing Abrams to course correct for two and half hours. This sh*t killed any momentum the Disney films had, it killed any semblance of a cohesive narrative going forward, and, worst of all, it murdered any semblance of Rey being more than a poorly written Mary-sue.
Tumblr media
These new trilogies had every opportunity to be great. If they had someone with a reverence, a respect, for the source material helming Lucasfilm, they would have been. Look what Filoni has done with The Clone Wars and Rebels. Look what Favreau is doing with Mando. This might be a little glib but, considering Disney is bringing him in for a Star Wars trilogy on their own, look what Feige has done with the MCU? Hell, all things Marvel at this point. When you focus on dope stories and compelling characters, the narrative takes care of itself. When you focus on agenda and pushing divisive material, you can’t help but destroy what you hope to build. Kennedy is letting her ego cut her off at the knees when, if she just reined that sh*t in a bit, she could have been standing tall and walking into the future with her OCs intact. Instead, she has people in her own organization apologizing for her f*ck ups as the value of the legacy property you were gifted, tanks at a hilariously exponential rate. So how do we fix Rey and, effectively fix this entire trilogy?
Tumblr media
First off, she needs to be a Skywalker. That is an absolute necessity. I would make her Luke’s kid. That would explain away her proficiency with the Force, the fact she pilots like a champ, and has that hole Force Dyad bullsh*t with Ren, like her dad and aunt kind of have. Rey would be an organic growth of the Skywalker legacy while simultaneously bringing a refreshing conclusion to it with Episode IX. I would build the familial relationship between Kylo and Rey, one representing either side of the Force, both fighting to discover something about themselves within, over the course of this trilogy. I would have made Rey Luke’s kid; A proper Skywalker. I would have made her mother Mara Jade, opening up a whole situation that could have been embellished into at least two spin-off tales with a ton of ramifications going forward. I mean, imagine a story where Luke had to fight off the Knights of Ren AND his nephew before Ben donned the mask, as his pregnant wife ran off into space to avoid the overall destruction of the New Jedi Order. That sh*t writes itself.
Tumblr media
You get a side story of Mara Jade and a young Rey on the run, being chased by the Knights over the years, until she leaves Rey on Jakku, ultimately meeting her fate in a last stand battle, like her nephew, at the hands of several Knights on some nameless planet. Or Tatooine, i dunno. That’s an entire film. That’s a brand new, female lead you can explore. It’s organic. It homages the lore. It’s respectful of the overall mythos. It’s literally better than anything Disney has done with the mainline titles so far. Hell, you can even explore how Luke met Mara. Maybe she was one of the reformed Knights. Maybe she was one of the surviving Force Sensitives after Order 66. Maybe she used to be an Inquisitor but turned on Paps once Vader saw the light. Personally, i would skew more toward her being a former Inquisitor, seeking out Luke for revenge but, upon finding him, falls in love after several clashes. That gives Mara depth and allows for her to grow over a novel or two. Maybe a stand alone film. Luke would self-exile after losing to Ren but not because of the L, more because he thinks his wife and unborn kid are long dead. He’s heartbroken and knows he isn’t strong enough to fell his own nephew so Luke runs away. He goes into exile, like Yoda and Obi Wan before him, all the way to Ahch-to, searching for some killer app to finish Snoke before he can really get started. Imagine how much emotional resonance the ending of Episode VII could of held, going this route. Luke staring at Rey with such apprehension and regret. He immediately knows this is his daughter. That she's live. That she's here to ask him to do what he can't.
Tumblr media
You'd spend the a good chunk of Episode VIII building that relationship. Showing Luke being cold and stand-offish because he knows Rey is his kid and he regrets his choice to run. He knows that Mara survived for years without him, probably dogged by First Order assassins. That the woman he loved, died alone after abandoning her child to strangers on a backwater planet somewhere in the galaxy. He knows this adult woman standing before him, is his and Mara’s living legacy and he doesn’t want her anywhere near the conflict to come. She’s demanding to be trained. He’s dismissive and curt, until the Dyad with Ren kicks in. Just being on the Force rich planet of Ahch-to increases Rey’s sensitivity, allowing Snoke to tether her to her cousin. When she goes straight to the dark, that’s Ren’s influence. When she cracks the rock and wigs Luke out, that’s Ren’s influence. In order to combat that growing corruption, Luke decides to train Rey to combat the dark. We actually show look acting like a master, teaching Rey sh*t instead of just, you know, “go cut that rock”. We show her learning from Luke, growing in confidence with her abilities. This entire sequence can take the place of literally all of the Canto Bight nonsense. No one liked any of that and it kills the momentum of the entire narrative going forward. Replace it with Rey actually being trained and you not only give her an opportunity for much needed character development, but you give Luke so much more of an arc and a means to have him bow out with substantial grace. If you decide to go the “Luke Dies at the end” route. Personally, i would have nixed Leia in VIII considering things and moved forward with Luke as the survivor but that's another story. I'd have to rework all of VIII and I don't feel like doing that right now. Leia’s death would devastate Ren, flooding him with a boost in the Dark Side, enough to slay Snoke and raise him to Supreme Leader without the need of Rey’s help. This would lead into a version of Colin Trevorrow’s version of Episode IX, which i think is a superior narrative overall but we’ll get there when we get there. Maybe.
Tumblr media
The climax of the Last Jedi could be exactly the same but now it has so much more depth. It has so much more resonance for the trilogy going forward. Luke’s sacrifice would mean something  as we watched him slowly come to terms with his daughter being the hope going forward, effectively replacing him in the narrative. Most fans would be okay with this as, even though he never tells Rey he’s her father outright, the audience kind of knows. It’s hinted at. The reveal can come in IX somehow or in his last regards to Leia. He apologizes for Kylo but reassures her that, even if he passes, her niece will carry on the fight. Luke tells Leia of Rey's parontagem she says “I know” like her husband, and promises to continue Rey's training to best of her abilities. Kylo gets his shadows chase. Luke’s last words have so much more impact. We have an emotional investment in Rey because the torch had been properly passed. I, personally, would rework the majority of the plot while i’m at it. I’d fix Poe, continue exploring Finn and his connection to the force, and find a way to make Rose Tico relevant without being trite. I mean, you can have the Canto Bight stuff but draw it back considerably. It doesn’t need to be an entire third of the whole f*cking movie.
Tumblr media
I like the character of Amilyn Holdo, too, but her arc was stifled by nonsense politics and shallow development. All of that mediocrity kind of made her an easy target to hate, a lot like Rose. In my story, she’d still take the helm from Leia in Last Jedi but would have had an appearance in Force Awakens. She didn’t need to have a ton of facetime, maybe a shout out at the round table toward the end of VII or getting off the ship at Mas’ bar with Leia. Hell, a f*cking holo transmission would be enough of a mention, Holdo just needed a presence in that movie to be legitimized for the next. Rose was fine as is, she just needs more agency and not that bullsh*t, half-assed, love triangle that was literally dropped like a hot track on Soundcloud in the middle of a chase movie. That sh*t was stupid and it doomed Rose before she had a chance to even get started.
Tumblr media
Episode IX would start like Rise, Kylo slaughtering his way toward the wayfinder, but revealing that planet was Mustafar instead of whatever planet he was on originally. Ren has been planetside for weeks, searching for the wayfinder dealy and the planets dark side alignment is taking it's toll on him.  The mcguffin is deep in the wreckage of Vader's demolished castle, the deep subdivision and what not. Kylo makes his way to it, fighting dark side shades of his grandfather in Anakin form, goading him about his weakness, feeding into Ren's inadequacies about being weaker than his pap-pap. Kylo finds the mcguffin and takes off toward the Outer reaches in an effort to unlock more power. After the climax to VIII, Rey returns to Ahck-to to find Luke gone and the growing pull to the dark within her as the Dyad is wide open and Ren's spiral is pulling Rey along toward the drain, too. She feels him getting closer to full Sith, all of that pain and rage, multiplied considerably by his anger toward his grandfather's shades. Kylo basically flies to the outer reaches to find a Lost sage of the Darkside. It's not a Jedi or a Sith, but a being that thrives in the Dark, like whatever Maul is, but gigantic and monstrous. He learns from that creature, all the while leaving Hux to command the Last Order in his stead, second by General Pryde. The two of these cats have a battle for power, Pryde suspecting Hux of being a traitor, Hux trying to stave of attempts for his seat at the head, all the while pounding the Rebels as they continue to fight. The Knights of Ren are off, clashing with Finn, Poe, Chewie, and Rose as they search for another means to find a way to Rey, as she has the map and R2 with her on Ahck-to where she is training for the final battle. The majority of the film continues to follow the basic plot of IX, mcguffin chasing and what not, with Finn, finally adept enough in the force, to adequately take Rey’s place in those narrative spots.
Tumblr media
We have the whole montage of training on both worlds; Force ghost Luke showing Rey more advanced techniques and Ren taking on a full-on, Vader shade, like Luke, in the Outer Regions or whatever. Eventually, the remaining main characters decide to split up as the pressure of the Last Order continues to deplete their resources. Finn fixes Anakin’s lightsaber and begins to train with it under the tutelage of Mas, who is all in with the Rebels now, as they go after the other mcgiffin on Endor. He still meets the other former stormtroopers or whatever and they still help in the final battle but, instead of Rey and Kylo, it Finn and a few Knights of Ren. Maybe two, I dunno. Anyway, he beats them with Anakin's saber, gets the mcgissin and returns to the Rebel base, stormtrooper backup in hand. Poe and Lando try to drum up support for a final strike on the Last Order’s base and you get that whole shtick with Keri Russell's character. I'd take her helmet off, too. Why the f*ck  would you hide Keri's face? Shes adorable! Finn and Lando try their best, but it seems like a no-go so Lando stays to work his magic as he and Chewie return to the Rebel planet. Rose can return to the Rebel planet and take charge of strategy or whatever as Leia secludes herself within the base. I dunno. Rose is kind of hard to place because she has no discernible talents but I imagine anything is better than what they did to her originally. Anyway, Rey is able to develop enough self-control to force the Dyad closed, cutting Ren's influence off from her but, at the same time, her influence off from Ren, completely. That's gonna have big ramifications later.
Tumblr media
Around the end of the second act, Ren sees a force projection from his mother pleading with him to turn back to the light but he waves her off. Like her brother, Leia uses the last of her strength in this effort and she dies, pushing Ren over the edge, forcing him into full Sith. Since Rey closed the Dyad, Ren has no semblance of Light to keep the Dark at bay and he just absorbs SO much of it. It multiplies his strength in the Force and Ren is able to slay the Dark Sage, take it's power, and return to his fleet. Sh*t, the sage might be an actual Sith, Like, the people Sith and Ren kills him, effectively exterminated the race. Yeah, I like that. I like that a lot. Anyway, Ren arrives to find Hux is the traitor so he allows Pryde to kill him. Pryde takes command and they raise their newly constructed, massive, fleet along with a brand new flag ship. Mobile, lightspeed ready, and far more deadly than any planet cannon, Ren is ready to begin his march of devastation. Our heroes arrive on the First Order hideaway and the battle ensues. Finn boards the flagship, clashing with the remaining Knights of Ren, his hit squad of former Stormtroopers at his side, as Rose uses her tech skills to drop the shields or whatever they were doing with horses on that spaceship at he end of IX. Rey arrives on the planet, Ren sensing her returns to the surface, to face off with each other. Ren is brimming with the dark, Rey knows he;s too far gone to save and she resolved to do what is necessary to end his tyranny. She ignites Lukes green lightsber, which upsets Ren and then Leia's  yellow saber, which sends Ren into a legit rage. Yeah, Rey dual-wields now because it's cool. Poe does his whole lone ranger whatever as he's the last of the vanguard and sh*t. All is lost.
Tumblr media
The reinforcements show up in the nick of time and sh*t happens. Big ass sky battle with spaceships and explosions and sh*t, while Finn, Rose, and that black chick accomplish their task on the flagship. Shields dow, sh*t stats blowing up, fun times. Rey gets wrecked by Kylo, who is all the way Dark, no redemption, yellow rage eyes and everything. She’s getting dumped on until she forces the dyad open, allowing Ren to see the Force ghosts of Jedi Masters of old, as they all appear behind Rey, including Leia, Luke, and Mara Jade. They speak that bullsh*t, lay hands on Rei's lightsabers giving her a jump in power, and Rey defeats Ren in a harrowing duel. It has to end in a lightsaber clash. How can it not? Finn wrecks the remaining Knights and the flagship falls as the Rebel fleet overcomes the last of the Last Order. Ren is defeated, dying slowly, lamenting his choices. In his last moments, as the Force ghosts fade, the last few left are his mother, uncle, and grandpa. The last thing Ben sees as he dies is the face of the man he’s chased for so long. Poetic. Tragic. Requisite celebration on a jungle planet ensues while Rey is off, giving Ben a proper Jedi bonfire. Finn approaches, objecting to the respect shown, but she tells him that, in the end, Ren was still a Skywalker. If Vader can be forgiven, so could Ben. The two watch as the flames rise into the night sky. We get a scene of a shadow tracing the insides of Uncle Owen’s joint on Tatooine, generators firing on, mechanics coming to life. Rey is seen, all by her lonesome, igniting her new, personal, lightsabers; Gold, I guess? Is that what color they were supposed to be? A young kid arrives, inquiring about why the old Lars place is lit up for the first time in decades. He asks her name. She hesitates, looking over her shoulder to see the force ghosts of Anakin, Leia, Luke, Mara, and Ben; Her entire family. She gives a knowing smile and answers, “Rey. Rey Skywalker.”

This is just a rough outline of how i would have written this trilogy. I might embellish a little bit, maybe write it up as a proper fan fiction, but i don’t know. There’s a lot to unpack and i don’t really want to spend the time actually fleshing out this narrative but, i believe this is far superior to anything Disney has done. It fixes Rey, sets up Ren as a actual antagonistic force, kills anything resembling a Reylo romance, returns agency to Finn and Poe, fixes Rose, makes Mas a factor, and wraps everything up nicely. You get answers to the questions from before, the Knights of Ren have a presence throughout the entirety of the trilogy, and even divisive characters like Holdo get a shot at relevance outside of agenda. More than anything Rey being a Skywalker feels earned. It feels organic. It feels right. This is the bookend the Skywalker story deserved, not the rushed, politic laden, ego trip we got.

Tumblr media
This is just a rough outline of how i would have written this trilogy. I might embellish a little bit, maybe write it up as a proper fan fiction, but i don’t know. Piece by Piece
A/N: So I’m finally back posting. I have been trying to write this fic for over a week now and it’s finally done. I hope you enjoy :)
Tumblr media
Summary: Dean sings the only song that will calm his unborn daughter down, leaving him and the reader to reflect on the kind of parents they want to be.
Song: Piece by Piece by Kelly Clarkson
Warnings: bit of angst and fluff, mentions of drug abuse, mentions of domestic abuse (no graphic details)
Pairings: Dean x Pregnant!Reader
Word Count: 1.4kish
Masterlist
*7 Months Pregnant*
Dean looked down at his very pregnant wife’s belly and smiled. He put his hand on the bump and rubbed, feeling the baby kick against his hand. From the moment you had told him you were pregnant he had made a promise to himself he’d never turn out like his Dad. He never wanted to leave his kid to fight against the world alone. He never wanted to make his kid feel unwanted. He loved his baby with all his heart, and he was determined to be a good Dad.
“She likes her Daddy,” You smiled at him, your eyes sparkling with adoration.
“Is she giving you trouble tonight?” He asked you, kissing your cheek.
“A little bit, she’s just excited to meet us,” You chuckled.
He moved further down the bed, so his head was next to your stomach and placed his hand on the bump. He began to sing piece by piece softly; knowing it was the only song that could calm the baby down. It was also his own promise to the baby he would never abandon her the way his Dad did.
Whenever he heard this song his mind took him back to when he and Sam practically chased their father around the country for him to tell them to leave him alone. He may have thought he was protecting them, but all he was doing was hurting them more. He never wanted to abandon his daughter the way his father abandoned him.
You sat back smiling as Dean sang too your belly, feeling the baby calm down a little. Dean had restored your faith in men a long time ago, and you had no doubt in your mind that he was going to be an amazing father. Your own father had walked out on your family when you were a child and only came back when he wanted money to fund his drug addiction. He would get violent with your mother and would put the fear of God in you. That’s why you decided to protect your family and learn self-defence. It lead you into hunting which is how you met Dean.
Since he met you he pulled your wall down brick by brick and put you back together again. He never walked away from you, not even when he was angry. He went to a different room and calmed down before coming to sort it out with you. He never asked you for money and has provided for you ever since he asked you to be his girlfriend. He was everything you needed in a man and more.
As your baby stopped kicking as Dean finished the song you hummed in relief. Dean kissed you softly and pulled you into his chest to sleep.
“Thank you,” You mumbled.
“It’s a Dad’s job to help get their baby to sleep,” He mumbled, kissing your hair.
“No, not just that. For everything. For staying, no matter what,” You smiled, turning to face him.
“Thank you for not leaving me either, we’re a team. Soon we’re gonna be a family and nothing can break that apart,” Dean grinned kissing you one last time before you both fell asleep, entangled in each other’s arms.
*8 and a Half Months Pregnant*
Dean was out getting you a burger and a milkshake because your cravings were driving you crazy, leaving you and Sam to have a relaxing movie day. Sam was waiting on you hand and foot, giving you a foot rub and bringing you everything you needed to be comfortable. He was going to be an amazing uncle too.
“Sam, stop flapping and sit. I can wait til Dean comes back,” You laughed as he paced the room waiting for his next task.
“You sure?” He asked concerned, knowing you’d been in a lot of pain in your last trimester.
“Positive. Now put a movie on and come watch it with me and your Niece,” You smiled as he sat next to you and turned on Sex and the City, knowing it was your favourite.
“We can watch something you wanna watch you know,” You sighed, looking to him. He’d break his back for you and the baby, just as Dean would.
“Don’t tell Dean, but I love a good chick flick,” He grinned at you.
“So does he,” You retorted making him laugh.
You heard a knock at the door and pushed yourself off the couch and waddled towards it. You brushed Sam off, thinking it was only Dean forgetting his keys. You opened the door with a grin ready to chastise Dean playfully, for your face to turn sour at the unwanted guest at the door.
“What are you doing here?” You asked him angrily, a scowl set into your face.
“I heard you were pregnant and I wanted to come to see you. See my grandbaby,” He smiled at you.
“This baby will never call you Grandpa, Dad. You don’t deserve it,” You seethed.
“Come on Y/N be reasonable,”
“Reasonable! Reasonable! You left when I was 6 and only came back for drug funds and to beat Mom up. You will never be allowed anywhere near this baby. I don’t want you anywhere near me. You haven’t earned the right to be called my Dad let alone Grandpa,” You shouted, gaining Sam’s attention and Dean’s who had just pulled into the driveway.
“That isn’t fair Y/N,”
“Not fair? The only thing not fair is you leaving your six-year-old daughter without a father for her whole life. Leave,” You snapped, eerily calm.
“Y/N I have a right to see my Grandbaby,”
“You lost all rights when you walked away,” You snapped.
“Y/N,”
“She told you to leave,” Dean spoke angrily from behind your father.
“And who are you?” He laughed.
“He’s the baby’s Dad, and I’m her Uncle. And we’re gonna be there for their daughter. Unlike you were. Now if I were you I’d get off our property,” Sam snapped.
“Fine, you’ll regret this Y/N.” He scowled before he marched away.
Dean pulled you into his chest looking you over to make sure you were okay and kissed you on the forehead.
“You okay Y/N?” Sam asked you when you looked at him weirdly.
You looked from Sam to the floor, to Dean and back to the floor. It wasn’t time. This couldn’t be happening. It was too early.
“My waters have just broken,” Your voice broke, laced with fear as you looked into Dean’s eyes. It was go time.
The next couple of hours were a blur to you. A lot of pain, screaming and crying later and your daughter was whisked away to the NICU. She was small but mighty you had been told, she was perfect.
“Is she okay Sam?” You pleaded, looking towards him once you were fully aware of your surroundings again.
“She’s tiny Y/N. But she’s strong, has a strong grip around Dean’s little finger. She’s gonna be fine,” He smiled, kissing your forehead. “You were amazing,”
“Dean’s with her?” You asked, confused.
“Yup. Do you want me to take you to see her too?” He asked, grinning.
“Really?” Your eyes lit up as he nodded.
He got you settled into a wheelchair and wheeled you up to the NICU. The nurses smiled at you and congratulated you. You set your eyes on Dean, rocking your small baby girl in his arms and singing her favourite song. You teared up knowing he was never going to turn out like your father.
“Hey, beautiful. This is your Momma, baby girl,” Dean smiled talking to your tiny baby.
“Is she okay?” You asked, tears dripping down your face.
“She’s amazing,”
“Sorry to interrupt, but have you thought of a name?” A nurse asked, smiling at the little family.
“Hope,” You replied without missing a beat.
“I love it,” Dean whispered. “Our little Hope,” He nuzzled her into his chest and kissed her tiny forehead.
This was your family. Your Hope.

By his hands
Tumblr media
Bright blue skies featuring the warm sun as their shining star of this evening, Roman was still riding the high of excitement that washed over him the moment they stepped off the plane. It was still so hard for him to believe that this was their current reality. After the first day adventuring he thought he had seen his brother at the museum with a child in hand that looked just like Roman. He had attempted to follow but he ended up losing them, then again he did take acid prior. Although he was kicking himself with how uncertain he was in what he saw he retired to the spa for the day contemplating on telling Val what he had seen before they went to dinner that night. He didn’t want to upset her or even get her hopes up in case Sophia and the organization couldn’t help them get their son back. It was yet another secret Roman was keeping from his wife, the one who could tell when he was keeping something. After changing into swim trunks and one of his many patterned vacation shirts leaving it unbuttoned he headed down to the spa. Roman had been trying to convince himself that this all wasn’t a dream but with the chilling reminder that even if they didn’t see Thatcher he was still looming, sadly Ben and Zoe became the victims this time around. It started making him second guess that if he truly wanted to bring his son back to sanctum, it would be another target toy for Thatcher to play with if he wasn’t stopped. How could Roman even handle losing his son to some twisted fate when he could have remained with his kidnappers, he might have had a better chance. His head and his heart fought against each other as he pulled open the locker room doors making his way over to one and opening it, placing his things inside it and swapping his clothes out for a towel he wrapped around his hips. Sure having their son back would be the happiest day of their lives but was it really worth the risk of losing him permanently? The thought alone made him feel sick, angry and for once vulnerable. It made him feel weak, had he known Val would have come looking for him and there was a chance they’d cross paths in other ways he would have never come this far, not to seattle, not to the hospital where he made the deal with the devil himself and then they wouldn’t be trapped in Sanctum. Sanctum had become a home and for a while things seemed perfect but with everything they’d endure in less than a few months was making him feel like they were playing some twisted game of would you rather. Would you rather lose your child or leave him with his kidnappers? What would you do? Maybe they’d get lucky and their son would be fine here but the odds hadn’t been in anyone else's favor who had brought a child here. It would kill him to have to put his son in a grave. Roman’s mind was twisting in so many ways he could practically hear the devil and angel arguing at each other from shoulder to shoulder. He opened the door to the steam room and sat the towel down on the marble bench exposing everything to anyone who walked into the men’s steam room. He dumped some water on the hot stones causing the steam to fill the small boxed room. How would Val cope with him not wanting to bring their son back with them? She’d hate him and he didn’t want that. Part of him wanted to run from Sanctum and stay in Italy forever away from Thatcher but then again he wasn’t sure they’d get too far before he found them, they were safer in numbers with the other members of the organization. As the steam built Roman closed his eyes, his body began to relax his muscles less tense as they were before coming in. Still wrestling with his mind he closed his eyes and tilted his head back accidentally dazing out of reality. Upon opening his eyes he realized he wasn’t where he thought he was, no steam room, no Italy but back in the states. Roman wasn’t even back in Seattle. Looking down at what he was wearing he was dressed in black pants, black shirt, black boots and his leather jacket he hadn’t seen in ages. New York lights shone bright overhead with huge billboards and signs as bustling cars and taxis passed by on the streets. Roman was confused, how did he get from Italy naked in a steam room to New York of all places. It had been the first place he looked for Val when she left him but that had been years ago. The world felt as if it was spinning around him and he was getting nauseous, he was a fish out of water compared to how he felt in Seattle. With a racing mind his attention was taken when Val ran by him followed by a male all dressed in black chasing her, her hair was an amber faded red like it was when she was younger. “Val!” He called “Hey!” He said stumbling as the male dressed in black shouldered past him. Roman chased after them not wanting Val to get hurt, what the hell was happening? Having chased them down to an abandoned warehouse Roman climbed the stairs, he could hear Valerie begging and she never begged unless they were fighting. “Please, I’m sorry. I am so sorry. You just don’t understand.” He said through soft whimpers as she backed into the corner. “Leave her the fuck alone!” Roman yelled at the unknown male but neither seemed to pay any attention to him. It was as if he was a ghost and nonexistent to either of them. “No please! Think of our son” She yelled at the male who pulled out a hunting knife. “You did this Val.” The male finally spoke, trapping her against the wall as his hand wrapped tightly around her throat. “You made me do this..” He told her, the voice sounding all too familiar , it sent a chill down Roman’s spine. Her hands wrapped around the male’s wrist as her eyes watered and she attempted to speak as his fingers tightened. “No, Roman. Please, I- I” Roman was confused as to why she said his name he wasn’t touching her. “You should have just stayed, all I did for you. What I was doing for you. You swore you’d never abandon me and now look.” The males voice only got angrier and Roman couldn’t sit back and watch anymore. Lunging forward he grabbed the male just as he was about to plunge the knife into Val’s gorge of a belly grabbing his wrist and plunging the knife instead into the unknown male. All he heard was a blood curdling scream but it wasn’t a male it was Val’s scream. Blood splattered all over the wall, Val and Roman as he continued to stab the unknown male. Turning to see his face he saw his own face staring back at him. In shock Roman fell to his knees, why would he do this? Was he reliving life as if he had never gone to Seattle? Was it a dream? Some twisted alternate reality? He looked back down at himself but he disappeared and instead a very pregnant Valerie laid in his arms with his hand holding the knife that was plunged into her belly over and over again. Her blue eyes looked up at him with a small smirk on her lips “Just as greedy as I remember.” She spoke softly “If you couldn’t have him neither of us could.. And now neither of us have to worry about it.” She chuckled, coughing up blood from the internal bleeding. Roman began to tremble holding her, tears streaming down his face “What? No! Val! I’ve changed! I love you god damn it! I would never!” He yelled to her as her hand moved, placing a single bloody finger on his lips. “It’s okay, I knew what would happen if I left you and it was only a matter of time before I knew you’d catch up to me.” She was gasping for air as Roman attempted to stop the bleeding with one hand. “Babe, stay with me.” Roman was frantic trying to stop his hands from shaking “Roman, it’s okay.. You made it clear the day I said I do that the only way out was death and..” She coughed up more blood and he could feel her body grow weaker in his arms with each breath she took. “This is the only way I ever wanted to go was by your hand, no one else's.” A single tear streamed down her face and Roman began to lose it. His chest tightened and he shook her as he rocked her back and forth “No. Don’t you do this to me Val.” He yelled at her to keep her eyes open telling her it was going to be okay. Val had promised him the day they fell in love that the only way out was death by his hand but it never happened, would have never happened had their fate taken a different path and he had never gone to Seattle. Had he never met Thatcher or tried to kill Zoe in her hospital bed he would have hunted her blinded by his rage and pain from her leaving him with their unborn. “Goodbye Roman.” She said with her last breath as her eyes closed “Val!” He screamed holding them tight to his chest. “NO!” He was screaming, finally springing awake, finding himself dripping with sweat back in the steam room in Italy. His heart was racing as he gasped for air, he was having a panic attack from the nightmare when he fell asleep in the steam room. Forcing his trembling body up he placed the towel sloppily around his hips stumbling out of the steam room. He gasped taking in the cool air and doubled over the trash can, throwing up everything he had in his system. “It was a dream.. Just a fucking nightmare.” He said mentally trying to stop his panic attack, amber hues looked around the locker room counting lockers, a small trick he’d learned to help his body calm from one of these. How different life would have been if he had never gone to Sanctum, he would have allowed his irrational anger and family to manipulate him so much that he would have killed his wife and child back then. He was grateful it had only been a nightmare.
