Rereading Turning today (yes, all 1000+ chapters of it, sue me), and it strikes me how open-minded Yuder is? I'm not talking about the issues with Sunz (the one who caught him and tortured him in the previous game) although yeah, it's also significant, I'm talking about the first time he dreamt of Past!Kishiar.

Yuder dreamt of a conversation he never remembered he had with Past!Kishiar and instead of writing it off as a mere dream, he just immediately concluded that......his memory must be faulty?? That the dream is real and what he remembered is not???

No seriously, but what happened to him that can make him so decisively doubt his own mind like that???

(Also, how bad must he have felt during and after Kishiar's death to casually conclude that it is normal if his recollection of the event was wrong?)

I'm in the great sarain forest part and I have so much to say.

But the 1st thing i will say is that 1st TL Kishiar was a supervillain of a kind you only see in "was it casual when you—" posts. anything I learn about his and Yuder's... messy situationship (to say the least) is done so against my will.

what do you mean he got Yuder questioning if the time Kishiar sneaked out of his house in Peletta to see him, at night, in his room to "play board games". then came close to Yuder, admitting that it was just an exucuse, let them both fall on his bed while holding him close, burying his head in Yuder's neck, took deep breaths and said 'I feel like I can live now' "actually meant something"...

I love that the board/strategy game analogy stuck around throughout the novel instead of just being like. a one off thing.

Anyway, the staff was a motherfucker to draw, since the only (good) reference I had was how it was described in the novel, and the small bit of it you can see on the novel cover. The way it was drawn in the manhwa was abysmal, honestly. I've got many gripes with it.

The lighting is... well, it's there. I was on a bit of a time crunch, since I go out of town soon, and I knew if I didn't finish this now, it was never gonna be completed

Spoiler Warning: Meaning of the Name Yudrain

Yudrain roughly translates to "the beginning and the end," which can be interpreted as "forever."

Kishiar is an Alpha (first letter of the Greek alphabet; the beginning)

Yuder is an Omega (last letter of the Greek alphabet; the end)

If there is no Kishiar who gave Yuder a new name in the beginning, then there is no Yuder who harbors feelings for him and decides to save him in the end.

The beginning and the end.

Just like how two halves make a whole, how two ends of a thread make a circle, two people are needed to make the word "forever" meaningful.

Traumatized omega Yuder x Suicidal alpha Kishiar???

I kinda wanted it to focus on Yudrain and Kishiar's relationship but I still don't know the whole backstory yet and Commander Yudrain Aile right before his death is >>>>> Cavalry member Yuder (so much more angst) Like he was still hanging by the thread while Kishiar was still alive and continued to barely get by over the next decade but truly gave up just when he was about to be beheaded on the guillotine and Kishiar was suicidal enough in their last life as it is.

Time travel would certainly be the best option to make them meet but once again, not much context about their previous life.

So another universe maybe? No awakeners but still omegaverse. Kishiar would still be suffering because of the inherent illness which caused him to isolate himself in telhe Pelleta Duchy while commoner Yuder who got caught in between unsavory schemes of some nobles and just before he was going to be executed on false charges, he manages to sneak away.

He was traumatised but he hadn't given up yet. Despite being permanently disabled, he ran for his life and somehow ended up in the Pelleta Duchy. Already blind in one eye, Yuder had a lot of difficulty in navigating through his surroundings and didn't realize when he collided into someone. Although he couldn't see clearly anymore, the vision of red and gold was imprinted so deeply in his memory that he never truly forgot about it until the day he breathed his last.

Duke Pelleta, on the other hand, finds himself being more and more enamoured by this strange omega, who should've been dead by all means, but who is still stubbornly clinging to his life. As if it was something so precious. It was something Kishiar had never felt before. Ever since he realized nothing would change his destiny, no matter how hard he tried, he had given up on his life.

They end up learning to heal together and overcome their issues. But fate couldn't be altered. Yuder's battered body was barely hanging on. Kishiar didn't have much time left either. Both of them breathed their last in each other's embrace- laying side by side, gazing lovingly into the other's eyes.

Kishiar had said his eyes always strayed to Yuder no matter where they were or how far he was so wasn't it natural that he wanted to look at him even after their death?

Yuder's peaceful, gentle expression was the last thing he saw before he departed and never felt more at peace before. Likewise, Yuder found himself mirroring Kishiar's smile and was happy to have found one more reason to live. Even happier to have accompanied Kishiar until the end and ended his miserable life with an unexpected sweetness at last in Kishiar's arms.

I just reached ch.200, and I've been thinking of songs that fit this or that all along the way. "Take Me Back to Eden" sounds like it fits the 1st timeline pretty well, from the snippets sprinkled throughout those first couple hundred chapters.
