Pitch Me your thing!

HELLO HELLO MY SUNBEAMS. For most every category, there was an impressive turn-out for pitches, so I thought we’d utilize the weirdness of this year’s GIFTENING to give something new a try. The popular vote winner for each category will happen on the first day, but on the second, the winner will be chosen from YOUR PITCHES. Mostly those pitches will be to me. The exception is in Miscellaneous, where you’ll be pitching to my family, because what I want to do and what is most entertaining isn’t necessarily the same thing.

So! How will we do this thing? GLAD YOU ASKED. I’ll link you to a form in a minute with space for one pitch. Once you fill it out, you’ll be asked if you want to do another. There’s no limit to the number of pitches you can send in! But remember that if you submit multiple entries for the same category, you’ll basically be competing against yourself.

NOW WE’VE GOT SOME RULES FOR DOING THIS (which I mostly stole from Holligay, because I have no creativity this year). Please read them carefully! I’ll toss pitches that break any of these, and I’d rather your hard work not go to waste.

Pitch Me is open for your submissions from RIGHT NOW (22 December) through the very last day of this hellyear (31 December) at 11:59pm MT.

The thing you pitch must have come from what was nominated for THE GIFTENING 2020. (Full list of those nominations in every category below the cut on this post.)

Entries must be unsigned! I’m looking to chose based on the pitch alone, regardless of who submitted it.

The pitch itself must be 100 words or less. HAVE PITY ON ME I CAN ONLY CONSUME SO MUCH.

[Comic-AU] Yami’s Return

Now please don’t start to freak out. There’s a lot to take in and most of the information is tangled together because it all started from one point= The YGOxWR AU. Yami’s Return had been originally inspired by the trailer/teaser of YGO DSOD. When I first saw it, the idea,my head, everything screamed to me that Yami returns. And so I started this comic. The comic is curently stored due to..thieves...But I will take the risk and when I finish what I started I’ll post it here or link you to it on dA. The comic takes place a few months after the Ceremonial Duel. Sadly during that time, Solomon dies, leaving Yugi more broken then ever. First his partner, now his grandfather (no mother around just like in the English dub). The only thing Yugi has left from Yami is a silver necklace with a heart-shaped amethyst crystal in the middle (seen in the gif) that appeared misteriously in the Puzzle Box right after Yami left. Along the way, Yugi meets a horse and tries to tame him, since the horse is comfortable around Yugi. He succeeded in the end and they have a great time together. During the taming process there’s a man that shows up at the Kame Game shop (or Turtle Game shop?) and claims to be Yugi’s uncle, provides documents and everything and they end up living together. Long long on the way Yugi receives something from someone, and keeps it with him. The thing is that same flower from the gif, a cyan glowing flower. That same flower ends up giving him his now new-wolf ‘powers’. Transforming into a wolf and everything from the previous post ( https://ientina1234.tumblr.com/post/626977251597205504/yugioh-x-wolfs-rain-au-general-info ), but since this whole thing is so new to Yugi, his emotions affect him a lot more and he usually transforms to his wolf form without even noticing. The last but first thing to know is that... Yugi needs to save Yami. i mean there’s the obvious stuff, like. yeah, kingdom hearts, yugioh, voltron, sonic, pokemon, that all makes me happy, but i’m gonna go with some maybe less obvious stuff that also makes me really happy!

this is really long and i’m sorry but i’ll throw a readmore here for ya’ll

1: i’m actually enjoying hunter x hunter a lot right now!! my brother and i are watching it on toonami currently and it’s super cool! kurapika and killua are my two faves at the moment!

2: like, i love single player games a lot, i play them often when i have the chance and they’re super fun, but i’m also a huge fan of multiplayer games! like, more locally than online? i’m less into playing games with total strangers, and more into playing games with friends and family? i have so many fond memories growing up, playing mario party and mario kart and mario tennis and mario golf and stuff, worms armageddon was a big one too. i also like card games and board games a lot, even though we don’t do much of that these days because everyone’s busy and there’s no place to really do it, but like. yugioh aside here. i love playing yugioh but. real talk. i love like, uno, skip-bo, kings on the corner’s a good one, life, trouble, sorry.... my brother (not the brother i’m watching hxh with) recently got into dominion and taught us all how to play and it’s super fun too! so like, multiplayer games in general! i love playing games with people i know and love!

3: i’m a like. big fan of speedruns. i love. LOVE. watching speedruns. i’m not necessarily super into the like, let’s just do this super fast the way the game was intended to play type of speedruns. no, no. i’m talking games you can just, break in ways that you’re surprised that is not only possible, but doesn’t crash the game. i’m talking runs like, donkey kong 64, paper mario: the thousand year door, ocarina of time, majora’s mask, super mario 64, sonic boom: rise of lyric. and if you ever wanna watch a speedrun, these are the games i’d probably recommend most. just don’t like, watch 100% or 101% runs all the way through bc they’re like seven hours long usually, don’t watch any% for oot (i’d recommend the mst category), watch the english version of donkey kong 64 even though for like every other game japanese is usually faster.....yup!

4: so like, this is kinda a weird one i guess. but. disney films? i didn’t watch a super ton of disney movies as a kid, and didn’t like most of the ones i did see. i don’t actually......like a ton of old disney things? i can’t think of like a single old disney princess movie that i like. i liked, like, dreamworks and pixar stuff more, i think that was before it all kinda conglomerated into one thing or whatever happened. i don’t think i saw a single one of those popular disney channel shows that the rest of you have seen, unless kim possible was on disney, but she was prob the only one, and i liked her, but that’s the only one. the majority of them, though, if you name it i probably either haven’t seen it or i’m just......neutral. but newer disney stuff? yeah. i love newer disney stuff. like. tangled? frozen? moana? all good shit man. inside out was super good, i think that might be disney. that like, newer mickey mouse cartoon i don’t see a lot, but it’s good! gravity falls!!! good shit!!!! yokai watch is alright i guess! the only recent disney thing that i’ve seen and not been super into is, ironically, pokemon, but that’s not any fault of disneys or anything, not even close. i don’t like the plot and lillie is like way way worse and gladion isn’t there and why are the gym leaders back in school, but it sure is pokemon and i sure am watching it. i’m holding out hope that gladion will just walk in someday and just fix everything with his presence, his just being there. gladion’s like definitely one of my favorite sun/moon characters, probably even the favorite himself.anyway. got off track. newer disney things! newer disney things are cool!

5: i’m. fucking. really into rpgs. i love rpgs. rpgs are so good man. i love them! i love playing games where i’m given a role and i. play the role. listen. zelda? good. pokemon? good. mario and luigi series? good. paper mario series? good, until sticker star anyway. kingdom hearts? good. final fantasy? good. all good shit. i love that stuff. but like. listen. if you like give me a thing where i’m playing an rpg and i get to like, do whatever i want, make whatever type of character i want or whatever. i’m a sucker for like. magic characters. mages. wizards. clerics. healers. offensive magic? defensive magic? they’re both good. i just love doing magic!!! i love magical characters!!!!! (i’m definitely a bit biased in that with taako from the adventure zone, like, yeah of course he’s my favorite he’s the magic guy!) (likely why i like aqua from kingdom hearts as much as i do. she’s. at least my favorite to play as, probably tied with ventus for my fave from the wayfinder trio) (superstar saga had fucking magic and it hasn’t come back since then give me magic let me electrocute everyone as luigi man!!!) if i get the choice i wanna be someone who can and does cast a lot of spells and magic and stuff!!! i love magic!!!!!! i love rpgs!!!!! i love both at the same time!!!!!!!! yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAGIC!!!!!!! RPGS!!!!!!! RPGS!!!!! MAGIC!!!!!!!! i know this one’s a little less coherent but it’s 1 am and i can’t explain it i just love it
