I think the reason it'd be moreso considered a tragedy is the fact that it feels. Insensitive ? (Idk this might be a Me Opinion) to consider it a sin. Like "Oh your mental state was so bad and the social nets to try and prevent this stuff failed you? Let's punish you for something that you saw as an escape from the pain. Because obviously you're to blame for the fact that your brain started working against you"
