15 (For the ZOMBIES ask game) :D
YAY ANOTHER QUESTION AH thank you bb <33 ask game here
15. unpopular opinion you have about anything related to zombies?
i'm gonna do a few cause i have a lot of thoughts heheh
firstly, addison isn't as annoying or unlikable as y'all keep saying she is. i get it, she's overly optimistic, very cheerful, and can do annoying things sometimes. news flash, all of these characters have at least one of those traits too (and some have even worse ones)
secondly, the only reason some of you guys refer to zombies as a white savior franchise is because meg is white. i know that sounds stupid and redundant but like i know that at least half of you would stop calling it a white savior franchise if carla or kylee (or any other non-white actress) was cast as addison instead
and lastly, just because a lot of the original trilogy cast won't be in z4 does not necessarily mean that it will be bad, if it is then whatever, but we won't know till it comes out (and i'm saying this as someone whose favorite character is bonzo (along with zeddison but ya know, they're in the movie) so if i can chill, so can you guys)

Alright fuck it, z.o.m.b.i.e.s headcannons:
After graduating Seabrook High:
Addison, Zed, Wyatt, Wynter, Eliza, Bree, Bonzo, A-li, A-lan, and A-spen, all go to Mountain College after graduation (A few of them are prodigious enough to qualify for specialty programs out of state, but monsters have yet to be granted equal access to higher education anywhere not local to Seabrook)
A lot of them are undeclared, but A-spen is majoring in environmental science and minoring in history, Eliza is majoring in computer science and minoring in political science, Bonzo is majoring in linguistics, and Addison is majoring in social work
Willa works to rebuild her pack and works with Eliza as activists to push for social and legal monster acceptance, celebration, and equality
Wynter and Zed keep playing football in college
Most of them dorm at MC but visit Seabrook frequently
Random hcs:
Addison is strong asf (you cannot tell me otherwise) and she loves just randomly picking up Zed bridal carry style, especially when he's getting way too caught up in his head
Zed and Bonzo have loved doing graffiti since they were in middle school, and, after Zed gets away from the pressure of being "exceptional Zed" in hs, they pick up doing it together again
DIY is a huge part of zombie culture and Zed, Eliza, and Bonzo all take part in that in different ways. Eliza likes making techno music and programming, Bonzo likes art and experimenting with modifying instruments and making noise music, and Zed likes sewing/ textile diy.
That's all I have rn lol, I'll probably reblog this with more when the next waive of obsession hits

ok, I'm a little more empathetic towards Addison now (thanks to an instagram reel comment). I blame her parents. I mean, Missy was the mayor she could have just made a law or rule about white hair, idk. But also like they should have shown Addison getting bullied or ridiculed as a child or something, and the whole hiding her hair thing would make more sense. That's what's lacking in the movies.
Especially since the Main Main Character in the films is Addison (Zed being second), they could have shown more of her backstory. 3 movies, no backstory, and no sign of her being an alien.
the LORE had so much potential here, disney 😔. Ok, the Alien thing might have come last minute, but ya'll still could have given us Addison's childhood and just retconned it.
From now on, this is my headcanon events prior to Z1:
Addison gets bullied as a child because her hair is white. Being raised in a "perfect" gated community, the kids don't know better and make fun of her for it. This happens quite often in kindergarten. She then goes home and tells her mom. Missy then makes her start wearing wigs. I'd say this all happens around Pre-school/Kindergarten to early 1st grade since this is the age people don't remember a lot from. With that, her schoolmates then don't really remember her having stark white hair, and other people know her with the blonde wig.
that's all, Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

for the zombies ask game :)) 3, 4, 11, 15 ???
HEHEHE!!!!
3. Favorite song?
I have so many it depends on my mood but I think the song I can listen to without any stipulations is Ain’t No Doubt About It. My funny story is any time I’m getting shots or doing a medical procedure or spiraling I sing quietly to myself ‘we’re not worried, definitely not worried’ and it helps!
4. Least favorite song?
Hm. I think to do this fairly I might go movie by movie. Z1 it’s probably Bamm Block Party, I just don’t really like it and it’s not as good as the original Bamm.
Z2…I’d have to say it’s a tie between We Own the Night and Call to the Wild. I think the lyrics of We Own the Night are some of the most dogshit lyrics I’ve ever heard. Which is saying a lot cuz I love listening to objectively bad songs. And then personally I go back and forth on Call to the Wild, but it always loses points for the dance numbers. Every time I see Disney try to incorporate a step battle I lose a lot of respect for everyone involved. Plus it’s one of the weaker Z2 songs, it doesn’t make the energy of the rest of the movie.
Now for Z3, I have to say it’s a tie between Finally Me and their rendition of Someday. Hot take, I know. I love Addison but the visuals for Finally Me take me out. And sorry to everyone who disagrees, but the Z3 Someday is SO bad. Every time I watch Z3 I’m getting emotional and then the wolves start singing Someday (BADLY) and it makes me cackle. (Note, I am not a good singer, but if I was and I heard myself sounding like THAT, I’d quit, drop out, whatever it takes!)
11. Favorite Seabrook character? Least favorite?
Addison. She’s pretty. Was probably a major factor in my gay awakening (waaaay back when I was in middle school watching American Housewife for clarification). And reanimated Addison is hilarious and regular Addison is cool too!
Least favorite is probably the Aceys. As an avid fanfic girlie, the Aceys are my least favorite to write and read about. Sorry team, but they’re so nothing. Don’t contribute to the plot and minimally contribute to my enjoyment. :/
15. Unpopular opinion you have about anything related to ZOMBIES?
Hm. I have lots of opinions, I don’t know! I’ve very vocal that I don’t care for Wyatt and in general the wolves (although again, Willa is very pretty, so she gets a pass). I think one of pick out though to be different is that I’m a HUGE fan of every Zed song: Bamm, I’m Winning (ESPECIALLY THIS), and Exceptional Zed (also Like the Zombies Do but people do like that song). I think I’m Winning is great and I know a lot of people don’t agree with me. I think Milo’s part is great, I can do without Trevor (SORRY, I love Bucky but him in I’m Winning is ehhhh), and I love the dancing and the visuals. I love I’m Winning.

Really Dumb Zombies hcs (vol 1)
So I don’t think they ever agknowledge this but Bucky being cheer captain when Addison was a freshman, and then graduating alongside Addison in her senior year, implies that Bucky either got into cheer early as a prodigy or that he’s a super senior/was held back a year. But I personally like the idea that Bucky was held back a year and is deeply insecure about his academics, which is (one of many reasons) why he puts so much energy into cheerleading
Shrimpy isn’t actually human; it’s also technically something monstrous. Maybe the moonstone energy mixed with a sock that had a shrimp chip stuck to its bottom or something LOL. It’s nonverbal and uses it/its pronouns
This feels like kind of a given, but when Addison and Zed leave for college, they carry along habits from Seabrooke other people immediately dock as weird. Or it's just really off-putting for the two when they can't name everyone in their class.
Bouncing off that last one, I love how it'd especially irk Addison that no one's eyes linger on Addison's blue/white hair (because they all assume it's hair dye). Like, even at home people are still acclimating to it, but people treat it like it's just an average Tuesday.
In Zombies 3, we know Zed has the 3rd highest GPA, even though his biology test scores have an average of Bs. Implying that all of Seabrooke is actually, in fact, very stupid (or just cannot work with the education standards).

Finally got around to watching Z-O-M-B-I-E-S and the first two aren't masterpieces but are a fun watch especially for the music. I'm not going to lie the third I think is genuinely one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Rant below.
I'm going to start off with that the music and choreography are the best in the franchise I really enjoyed all the songs in this movie.
Zed is once again a likable character and is my favorite character in the movie.
The first movie is about segregation and I've heard others say disabilities as well. The second is colonization and not losing who you are to fit in. The third is about immigration, climate change, "identity politics", and other messages I think just rewrite the lessons of the previous movies.
One of my favorite parts of these movies is when Addison puts on the necklace to become a wolf and doesn't. Which upsets her because she wants a place to "fit in" and Bree tell her she's beautiful, that she's always been beautiful and even if she's not a wolf she's Addison, someone who is deeply loved and amazing the way she is.
I loved this messaging that the second movie portrays of being comfortable in your own skin. That Zed doesn't need to be more human and that he can embrace that he is a zombie. That is the lesson Zed and Addison are supposed to learn in this movie. Except in the third movie Addison throws all of her dreams, family, and friends away when she finds out she's an alien. Like being Addison isn't good enough that she has to fully be an alien, like that's what's going to make her feel better about herself. It's like someone finding out they're 1/16 Cherokee and begin enrolling in the tribe, dressing in traditional native dress, and marking native on their job applications. It's nice to know your ancestry, but your genetics don't make up your personality.
Also the reason two works is because the werewolves are likable. I found the aliens to be unlikeable and whiny.
I found Addison in the first two movies to be whiny as well. Constantly talking about not fitting in and her white hair. Like she's not the mayor and police chief's daughter, a cheerleader that's super loved and popular, and has a good boyfriend and friend group. Like Zed, Eliza, and Bonzo aren't segregated from the rest of society, treated like monsters, and aren't allowed common decency in the first movie.
But I was able to overlook this because it's a kids movie and the rest of the characters carried the movies. The third movie just cranks Addison's unlikability to 10. She doesn't correct A'spen on what's socially acceptable to say, you know not hitting on Zed while he's there and it makes him extremely uncomfortable as just one example.
The fact the her grandma chose Seabrook as utopia even though at the time it was still segregated and hateful. The aliens should have chosen Seabrook that even if it is imperfect the still decide to call it home.
Also not every character should be in a relationship. Bree and Bonzo as a secondary couple is cute, but while I think Wyatt and Eliza could have a good dynamic they don't really interact in the second movie and by the third Wyatt's just magically in love. I understand that it's been a few years since two, but you should at least rely on onscreen chemistry which you can't have because Eliza isn't physically there for the whole movie. Willa and A'spen don't even make sense.
This movie has so many problems and just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I have so many more things I want to say about this movie, but if you're still here you might not want to hear it.

~~~
All morning before leaving for school, Bucky wouldn't shut up about winning the election against Zed. "Okay, can you shut up about it now? You won, woohoo." I snap while I eat breakfast.
"You're just mad your monster didn't win because he zombied out." He baby talks me as he heads to he front door.
"And he would have won if he didn't!" I shout as he leaves.
"You know how your brother is... just ignore him." Mom tells me and something catches my eye.
"Your hair..." I get up from my seat.
"Oh, yeah. Someone helped me to stop hiding it." She gives me a smile.
"Why didn't you ever tell me?" I look at her hair that was just like mine, actually the exact same as mine.
"I never felt confident or comfortable but watching you since you started showing it off started to make me think about it." She tells me so I give her a big hug. "Now get out of here and get to school." She shoves me off of her as our doorbell rang. "I'll get it. You get your bag and put your bowl in the sink." She leaves the room and I do what she said to do. "Oh, Zed." I hear her say making me do it fast.
"You have hair just like Serenity too?" He points it out.
"I do. I hid it my whole life until now. Serenity, taught me that I should be comfortable in something that means me." She give him a smile.
"We better get going to school like you told me to." I kiss her cheek then take Zed's hand into mine. "
Have a good day. And Zed remember you're welcome over whenever you feel like it. If Bucky says thing, I'll just send him to his room." She makes him laugh and say okay as we leave.
"You didn't tell me she had hair like you." Zed looks down at me.
"I didn't know. Like she said, she hid it her whole life." I laugh as we walk.
"Have you talked to Addison?" He brings her up.
"Nope. Do you think I was too harsh yesterday?" I stop walking to ask him.
"I personally don't think it matters if you were or weren't because you were letting your feelings out you seem to have bottled up. Just remember you are special to some people. Especially to me." He kisses the top of my head.
"Let's just get to school." I laugh and we walk to school hand in hand.
"Attention, everyone. This is you new president, Bucky reminding you that the Prawn is tomorrow night." Bucky says over the PA.
"As you know, with the anti-monster laws still in place, this is a human only event." Principal Lee adds.
"Why exactly are the laws still in place? Aunt Missy put them back because everyone was scared of the werewolves attacking... then they come to school and do other things but they never got rid of them." I complain as we get to school.
"You have a point. Are you going?" He asks me.
"I already told you no. I don't care about dances. Plus I'd rather spend the night with you at home." I squeeze his hand with a smile.
The day went by fast and anytime Addison and I were near each other you could feel the tension. We tried our best to ignore each other and we did a good job till we had to pair up together. The teacher wasn't exactly happy that we didn't discuss the topic we were on in class. Our conversation had about less than five sentences.
As soon as the bell rang we split apart not wanting to be near each other. I get a text from my mom telling me to tell Zed that he's invited to dinner tonight. He slightly startles me when he pops up next to me at my locker, "My mom said your invited to dinner tonight." I tell him and his eyes widen.
"Wait, really?" He asks so I show him the text. "What am I going to wear? How much crap is Bucky going to talk? Is your dad okay with this?" He starts to rant.
"Zed, wear what you normally wear. You don't have to impress anyone. My parents like you. Just be yourself and they'll like you even more. So no pretending to be someone you're not." I poke his chest.
When I get home I tell my mom Zed said he'll come over later when it's closer to dinner time. "That's great. I even went down to Zombietown earlier to get some food just for him so he'll feel at home." She smiles as I take a seat at the island.
"You scare me lately. You know that." I laugh at her.
"How so?" She starts to work on dinner.
"You went from hating zombies strongly to making a special meal for one you invited over for dinner." I say causing her to turn around.
"And I was wrong because they aren't as bad as I thought. Plus Zed is such a sweet handsome boy. Not to mention he stole my daughter's heart." She gives me a sweet smile.
"You sure it's wasn't his quick wit and charming smile?" I laugh.
"His smile is charming... I understand why you feel for him as soon as you saw him."
"Actually when I first met him I didn't see him because it was dark in the zombie safe room. Then the lights came on and Addison punched him in the face." I let her know.
"Speaking of Addison... I heard you two were at it yesterday? What happened?" She asks with her back towards me.
"Long story short she was trying to become a werewolf. Zed stole her necklace that would turn her into if she was one. She got mad at me because I knew he took it and I wasn't going to tell her. I told her it wasn't my place and that I told Zed, he knows what he has to do. Then I snapped telling her she's obsessed with her hair wanting it to mean something special. Unlike me who doesn't care and know it has no special meaning. She can't live with the thought that it has no special meaning. She constantly whines about not feeling like she belong, not having her own little pack, when she have so many people who care and love her for who she is." I explain in a mono tone making her turn to face me.
"Her response was I can't see myself or understand myself yet I say I'm nothing special or important but I'm okay with that. Then she adds she knows why because of the constant reminder in my head telling me, grandma said she's more special. I hate the fact that I don't know why she said that. So I have no choice but to see myself as nothing and pretend I'm okay with that." I roll my eyes.
"Grandma Angie told you Addison was more special?" She tilts her head.
"Yep, and it's been burned into my brain." I nod my head.
"Growing up she told me Missy was more special than me. She told me when you were born she was disappointed that we both got brown hair with our white. Said we won't have the spark... whatever that meant." She walks over to stand next to me and touch my hair.
"Then does our hair actually mean something? Then what?" I ask confused watching her face.
"Said I didn't need to worry about it." She forces a smile and I could tell she was keeping something but I let it go.
As she goes back to making dinner I head upstairs to my room. As I was working on some things for class, Bucky comes into my room with a big smile across his face. "What?" I whine.
"I thought I'd be nice and keep one of each for you." He pulls out a poster, and a bangers of the, Zed for prez, he made to make him look like a monster. "I know you like your monster so I saved it for you." He puts them on my bed. I decided to keep that Zed was coming over for dinner so he would be surprised. "Now I have to work on president things." He chuckles leaving my room.
I have no clue where he thinks I can put this big banner because it was long than the length of the wall. I fold it up and put in in a box and put the standing banner in a corner of my room. I go over to bag and pull out the crumbled poster to look off the wall yesterday. I smooth is out the best I could then put it up on my wall. I did hate when he tries to make himself look normal but I mean he was running to make change.
learning that Milo Manheim is Jewish gives Z-O-M-B-I-E-S, Zed, and especially his role in Z2 a different and important light
to elaborate:
Jews have been hated for 3000+ years, and by hated I mean the likes of Assyria, Babylon, Persia, the caliphates, the crusades, Rome, and Ottoman took over Israel + Judah and outright forced Jews to convert/assimilate or either die or live as oppressed (criminalized) denizens; then when the Jews had to spread out elsewhere from northern Africa to Europe and even the Americas, the domineering (mostly white/colonial/imperial) culture forces them as well as other Indigenous people to the same difficult choice: assimilate or die
in the present, we have a very objectifying attitude towards Jews and to the same extent many Indigenous and mixed-race people: the cultures they keep alive don't mean anything to us when they either look white or act white (I want to call this cultural bleaching for some reason) or if they're visible, we keep them out of our sight anyway
so how does this relate to Z-O-M-B-I-E-S and Zed running for president?
one thing I didn't like through the entire run of the Z-O-M-B-I-E-S franchise is that the zombies just look like sickly white people, even black actors, and for Z2 the white paint is a huge contrast to the werewolves and humans whose actors get to keep their skin tone
much more subtle is that even within the human society alone, Seabrook shows quite a bit of racism with how Bree and the coach, both fat Black humans, are depicted as seeing themselves in a negative light and needing to be pulled up by the more confident non-Black people like Addison and Zed, who are both outed as not entirely human either
Zed's human skin tone and zombie skin tone only really differ when Zed's Z-band gets messed up, and there are two ways this happens in the first movie: first when he tries desperately to fit in, and second when the Aceys force him and his friends out
so I guess in Z2, Zed's already pretty scarred by being outed that when he snatches the chance to represent himself and his kind in politics and then meets new people, his instinct is to make them assimilate for fear of oppression
so the conflict of trying to fit in vs just being yourself, in Zed's side of the story, matters anew with all that context in mind
I'm not saying that Disney's Z-O-M-B-I-E-S failed in its anti-racism message, otherwise I wouldn't have made the effort to watch the three movies in one day (Zed's internalized racism issues have mellowed out come Z3 but they haven't exactly faded) but it's good to talk about all of this while we're still in living in a society that wants to erase many kinds of people and cultures from this earth by either ending life outright or forcing them to assimilate in fear
Was that [MILO MANHEIM]? Oh no no, that was just [ZED NECRODOPLIS], a [CANON CHARACTER] from [ZOMBIES]. They are [NINETEEN] years old, use [HE/HIM], and [ARE ] aware that they are not actually from Washington DC. Too bad they can’t stray from this city for long.
Tumblr media
Zed has been here for under a year.
Zed is a very sweet, confident and headstrong person and even though he does most things for himself and his fellow zombies, he is extremely loyal to his friends and will do anything for them. He always stands up for what’s right and is compassionate, but also impulsive at times. When he sets his mind to something, it’s very hard to change it, even when others say he can’t do it due to him being a zombie. This is shown when he wants to try out for the football game in the first movie and running for President in the second one.
He can become jealous at times due to misunderstandings, when he thought that a werewolf, Wyatt, had a romantic interest in Addison. He is very protective, especially towards Addison and tries to do the right thing. He is optimistic and hopeful that one day all monsters will be seen as equal in Seabrook.
Zed is enthusiastic and compassionate towards others and their successes. This can be seen in Zombies 3, where he encourages one of his best friends Eliza in her new internship at Z-Corp. He also displays a lot of enthusiasm towards Addison when she discovers her alien heritage, despite the fact that her newfound abilities interfere with his interview to get into Mountain College.
Zed often uses exaggerated mannerisms and expressions to convey his feelings, with this somewhat goofy and aloof attitude aiding in his ability to be well liked, even among the humans who show trepidation towards the zombies at first.
ooooo how about zed/allison at prom
a/n: i turned this into a general zombies prom fic, but with implied/mentioned zed/addison. hope you don’t mind.
“wow,” zed whispers as addison enters the gymnasium, dressed in a beautiful bright pink dress with a ballgown skirt that just reaches her knees. she doesn’t meet his gaze for a few moments, taking in the pink and green decorations, but when she finally does, she smiles, walking towards him.
“hey–” she starts to say, before she trips, falling forward–only for zed to catch her before she can hit the ground. she blushes, ducking her head.
“sorry,” she says, reddened cheeks appearing even brighter against her white hair. “first time in heels. bucky insisted i wear them.”
“ah,” zed says, helping addison back onto her feet.
“oh, screw it,” she says suddenly, kicking her heels off to stand on her bare feet instead. “much better.” zed laughs, taking her hand and guiding her to their table (after she picks up her shoes, of course).
“hi,” addison says cheerfully to eliza and bonzo, who are already sat at their table. eliza lifts her gaze from her phone and smiles, while bonzo grins and waves at them enthusiastically. zed smiles and waves back.
“i love your dress,” addison adds, to which eliza smiles, shyly tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
“thanks,” she says. “i love yours too.” addison smiles.
“thanks,” she says back. suddenly, the music in the room changes, and addison’s face lights up.
“oh, i love this song!” she says excitedly. “let’s go dance!” she takes zed’s hand and starts pulling him towards the dance floor. while doing so, he glances back at their table, mouthing sorry to his fellow zombie friends as he feels bad for not spending more time with them. eliza just shrugs; she was never one for human dances anyway.
“looks like it’s just you and me, b,” eliza says, and bonzo grunts in response.
“eliza!” someone squeaks suddenly, and eliza turns to see bree approaching their table.
“oh, hey, bree!” she says, sitting up in her seat. “you look really pretty. no glasses?”
“nah, my mom insisted i wear contacts,” bree says. “she thinks glasses clash with the whole ‘prom glam’ thing.”
“well, i think you look beautiful with or without them,” eliza says. bree smiles.
“really?” she asks. eliza realizes what she just said.
“oh, uh, yeah, i mean, you always look great and, um--”
“wanna dance?” bree asks, cutting her off. eliza blinks several times.
“uh, sure,” she says, before bree grabs her hand and pulls her towards the dance floor. eliza glances back and bonzo guiltily, who only smiles and gives her a thumbs up. now alone, bonzo glances around the room, only for his gaze to fall on another lonely prom-goer sitting at their table all alone. bonzo decides to get up and go talk to them.
“no dance?” he asks as he approaches. bucky glances up at him, startling a little when he realizes it’s a zombie, before he sighs, gaze falling back onto the dance floor.
“i don’t have a date,” he explains. “it’s no fun dancing all by yourself.”
“no date,” bonzo says, gesturing to bucky before repeating the words as he points to himself. bucky smiles slightly.
“you asking me to be your date now?” he asks. bonzo shrugs.
“dance?” he says in lieu of answering bucky’s question. bucky nods.
“sure,” he says, taking the hand bonzo offers him. it’s surprisingly warm in his own, and softer than he expected. he stands, letting bonzo lead him to the dance floor. once there, bonzo starts to move erradically to the beat, which bucky can’t help but laugh at. bonzo only smiles at the reaction, sticking his hands out as an invitation for bucky to join him in his wild dancing. bucky takes his hands, only to suddenly be thrust about, spun and twirled and even dipped at one point. (a move which leaves bucky blushing, particularly due to the fact that everyone can see, but bonzo smiles down at him as though that were his intention all along.)
at one point, they find themselves dancing right alongside zed and addison, who happily greet them.
“bucky! so glad you could join us,” addison says with a smile.
“a cheer captain and a zombie, that’s a new one,” zed says with a smirk, to which addison hits him on the arm. “ow!”
“he’s kidding,” addison says. “we’re just happy to see you on the dance floor. sorry you couldn’t find a date.”
“it’s okay,” bucky says, glancing towards bonzo. “bonzo’s my honorary date for the night.” bonzo smiles. bucky smiles back.
“aw, how sweet!” addison says. bucky glances at her, eyebrows raised. “sorry, we’ll just--” she pulls zed through the crowd to find another spot to dance. bucky can’t help but laugh at his cousin’s actions, shaking his head fondly.
Zombies imagines being the youngest of the zombie group and loving art.
i did a similar request here, which is why this one is headcanons :)
masterlist
Tumblr media
First of all, let’s establish the fact that this is very much a found family situation
These guys know you like no other, and seeing as zombies have to stick together, they’ve always got your back
This is especially true because you’re the youngest of their green-haired number
Have Zed, Eliza, and Bonzo teased you mercilessly, as only the best of friends can do?
Absolutely
Have Zed, Eliza, and Bonzo threatened bodily harm to anyone who even looks at you twice?
Also absolutely
You’ve all developed a long list of increasingly absurd nicknames and inside jokes that no one outside of your group could even hope of understand (except Addison is allowed to share some, as she deserves)
The four of you are closer than close, there’s no denying that
What’s also nice is that you guys are so supportive of each other
You all go to cheer on Zed during his football games, you avidly listen to Eliza whenever she goes on one of her tangents about teaching zombie history, you try your absolute hardest to set up Bonzo and Bree, and all three of them shower you with compliments whenever you show them your art
Listen…it is hard to show people your works…something about it just feels private, you know?
It’s like giving someone your journal and watching their face to see how they react to your innermost thoughts
It doesn’t bother you with the zombie group, though, because they know how you think, and are able to pick out what you mean with every piece
Plus, they’re all so nice about it!
Eliza asks for your input in design for her latest social justice project, Bonzo does his best to be supportive by borrowing art supplies from classrooms, and Zed has kept a little doodle you did in his wallet ever since you gave it to him one time after class
It’s the perfect sort of thing where you don’t have to worry about being judged, because you know for a fact that each one of these guys is just as weird as you lol
Needless to say, it’s the best friend group ever :)
they're both queer (not really a niche headcanon but i'm putting it)
it took zed many months to get over the dog imitation habit
(ignoring the queer headcanon for a sec) addison is the biggest ally to ever ally. like one of those obnoxious allies but it works for her
^full on rainbow cake and celebration when literally anyone comes out, but she'll also be lowkey if requested
they are "me? obsessed with you? yes, yes i am" personified (about each other, ofc)
addison was zed's anchor when it came time to learn how to control his zombie state (similar to kipo and her anchor from kataow)
addison knows enough of the zombie language to have conversations but struggles with pronunciation (i'm slightly projecting with this one i fear)
they're literally always holding hands or linking their arms/pinkies (literally canon)
addison lets zoey dress her up and do her hair, especially after she got her true alien hair
^zed has a whole album of pictures of addison after zoey's makeovers (simply just because he loves them both so much, literally only like 3 were taken for funny reasons)
zed has dyscalculia but thought that it was just a zombie brain issue for the longest time (yes, he's canonically top of his class. yes, i'm giving him dyscalculia. both can be true)
^once he figured out what he had, he had to be practically begged by addison and his friends to ask for accommodations
addison is insanely touch-starved but presents herself like she's not (i definitely feel like dale and missy weren't the most physically affectionate parents, and i assume that angie (her most touchy relative) died when addison was young)
addison is closer to eliza and bonzo than zed is to bree (this is pretty much supported by a handful of scenes in the movies but whatever)
^don't get it confused, zed and bree are still very friendly to each other, as she is addison's best friend and bonzo's girlfriend
addison's baked dessert of choice is muffins, especially fruit muffins
^zed hates the sensation of cooked fruit (we're projecting again) but he eats them anyway to make addison happy
^once addison finds out he doesn't like cooked fruit, she then feels really bad for giving him so many muffins to taste-test and recruits zoey and bonzo instead
zed is greek (at least on his dad's side, due to the "-polis")
zed ends up pursuing a career that does not require more years of school due to his gifted-kid burnout (we all know he has it) being so bad
^addison most likely pursued something in the hospitality industry, became a politician like her mom (but like an actually good one), or became a defense lawyer
^i also feel like addison's the breadwinner of their relationship (not that that matters in the slightest just a thought)
I gotta say, I’m very surprised that Disney decided to run with A-Spen getting feelings for Zed first - instead of feelings for Addison, which would be more expected.
Partly, because you know all the people who will initially misgender A-Spen will likely mistake A-Spen for a boy, and then you have an apparent gay ship, which would drive the homophobes away from this movie. And we all know how Disney would hate to anger the homophobes! Making A-Spen have a crush on Addison instead would have been playing it safe, making it look like a “straight ship” to homophobes who don’t know or don’t care about A-Spen being nonbinary.
But no, there’s no way to mistake A-Spen’s crush on Zed.
It’s just a very bold and unexpected step for Disney, especially in a DCOM.
Z-O-M-B-I-E-S characters reacting to mermaids in Seabrook
Tumblr media
Here’s how I imagine Z-O-M-B-I-E-S characters would react to mermaids arriving in Seabrook.
Zed: Zed is perfectly content with new people coming around Seabrook, he’s happy to help out with welcoming them to the town and showing them around.
Addison: Addison is always all for more people in Seabrook. She is so excited about mermaids being in Seabrook, that she might overdo her introductions a little. And considering her current streak… she may or my not almost drown while trying to prove she’s a mermaid.
Eliza: At this point, it hardly affects Eliza. She’s not even living in Seabrook anymore and is way to preoccupied with her work stuff. She’s happy for the people in town to have new friends, but overall, it doesn’t matter much to her.
Bonzo: If these are siren-like mermaids who can do all their fancy music and songs, you know Bonzo is super excited to explore a whole new world of music. He’s hanging out with the mermaids just to learn about how their deadly siren songs work.
Bree: Bree is a little nervous at first, especially since her boyfriend is probably going to be spending time with these potentially dangerous creatures. She quickly gets to know them though and helps Addison welcome them to Seabrook.
Bucky: Bucky hates them. He thinks they’re just fish people who need to go back to the waters they came from. He has threatened to turn them into sushi more than once but would never only because he’s too scared to get within 10 feet of one.
Willa: As per usual, Willa is wary of outsiders. Since she’s now dating A-spen, she’s learned to generally be a bit more welcoming to those she doesn’t know, but she still is very cautious when the mermaids first come around.
Wyatt: As long as his pack isn’t in danger, I don’t think Wyatt really cares much about the mermaids. He’ll probably get to know a few of them but in the end, it doesn’t matter much.
Wynter: Wynter is okay with the mermaids, but she has made one or two alarming remarks about fish and seafood. When it is proven the mermaids are safe, I think she’d be a bit excited to learn about them. Perhaps too excited… she might freak them out a little.
A-spen: A-spen is really excited with new people. They ask the mermaids a lot about sea culture and end up learning a lot about random earth sea creatures. Willa does hold A-spen back a little, just because she is so protective and wants to make sure the mermaids are safe before she lets her partner near them. End the end though, I think A-spen gets along very well with them.
A-lan: A-lan does not care about the mermaids. He tries to challenge one to a swimming race and for once actually ends up losing. He’s not mean to them, but he also isn’t trying to be nice to them.
A-li: A-li is curious about the myths surrounding mermaids. She wants to know if they can really lure sailors to their death with just a few measures of song (and if the mermaids are willing to let her watch- well that’s all the better).
Mob AU: What is the most expensive thing Zed has ever gotten Addison as a gift? And how did she react to it? :3
luxury
a mob au side story.
Three times Zed gifts Addison expensive, outrageous, heart-felt gifts.
ao3 | ff.net
One.
Addison Jacobs wakes up to soft kisses to match the stray, soft beams of sun creeping in through her window. She smiles at the affection, slowly opening her eyes and craning her head to look at her loving, caring, and slightly morally questionable boyfriend: Zed Necrodopolis.
His arms tighten around her bare middle, drawing her in closer to his own body. She giggles while his lips trail over her cheek, down to her jaw, then up until he reaches her earlobe. "Mm, morning, Addy," he whispers, his voice a quiet rasp that makes her shudder. He presses a kiss just below her ear, adding, "Happy not-birthday."
Addison giggles again. Her not-birthday, as she and Bree had graciously dubbed the day two years ago on the first celebration, always happened a little over a month after her actual birthday. Every not-birthday celebration was filled with as many activities as they could cram in to celebrate another year while keeping Addison distracted from the thought of celebrating another year without her brother.
Zed understood immediately the first time she explained it to him and sent three entire days with her and Bree planning the day out. As much as she enjoys his affections, she turns in his arms, her mind already racing with all the plans they had today. None of which involved an early morning roll in the sheets, unfortunately.
"Morning!" she says, pecking his lips. "What time is it? I think one of my nonnegotiable not-birthday requests was a certain someone making me breakfast in nothing but–"
"My boxers and an apron, I remember," Zed finishes with a chuckle. "I just wanted to soak up some morning cuddles before the big day."
Addison hums. "We can cuddle any day! We have so much to do!" She practically bounces out of bed, walking over and grabbing a spare tee shirt from the drawers. "I'm gonna go start getting ready which means I expect a yummy breakfast, mister!"
She turns back, seeing Zed sitting up in bed now, a grin on his face. "I thought I was the boss around here?" he teases.
"You run the mob." She walks back over to the bed, climbing onto his lap quickly. "I, on the other hand, run things around here. Especially in the bedroom."
Zed cocks an eyebrow. In an instant, he has her on her back, her hands held high above her head in one of his. Her breath catches in her throat, her heart picking up as she stares into his dark eyes.
"Is that so?"
"Mhm." She swallows thickly. "Unless you wanna challenge that?"
(They make time for an early morning roll through the sheets, cutting out a big, fancy breakfast for a simple omelette.)
They quickly eat breakfast, then get dressed for their day out, Addison in a simple pale blue sundress that compliments her white hair nicely, while Zed dresses down in a pair of slacks and a button down, sleeves rolled to his elbows just the way Addison likes. It is her day, after all.
They stand in the foyer, Zed scanning over the key box, waiting to pick out which car they'll take out today. One of the perks of dating a mob boss, really. A different car, depending on the adventure. "What's our first stop again?" Zed asks.
"We're going to pick apples and peaches for the diner," Addison says.
He nods along. "Should we take the rolls? Or maybe the mustang?" He glances at her, then grins. "Ah! I know, we can take your Benz!"
She stares at him for a moment, completely confused, until it hits her. She hasn't had a car since hers broke down days before she met him, which means he bought her a car. More specifically, he bought her a Mercedes.
"What?!" she shrieks. She can't figure out if she's more excited than shocked.
He nods, tossing her a set of keys that she fumbled to catch. "Yeah! It's outside right now if you wanna go check it out!"
"Yes! Yes! Come on!"
She runs, her sandals slapping against the floor with each excited stride. Zed follows quickly behind. By the time he stops outside of her car, she's already throwing herself into his arms, squealing. He laughs, picking her up off the ground to better support her embrace.
"Omg, omg! Thank you!" She kisses him, smiling too hard to actually get any further, not that either of them mind. She pulls back and he sets her down, though he keeps his arms around her, holding her close. "This is – I don't even know what to say! I-I love it, Zed."
"I love you," he counters. "Although I will miss driving you everywhere." She giggles, standing on her toes to kiss him again. "Happy not-birthday, baby."
Two.
Zed travels a lot. Sometimes, his travels are work-related, but the majority of the time he just leaves. Ever since he and Addison hit their four month anniversary, it became known that she would always travel with him. Despite her having her own bodyguard now, they both felt more comfortable with her going with him than being separated. They had enough kidnapping scares for one lifetime.
This time, they've landed in Paris, France. They flew first class for this trip instead of taking Zed's family jet, like they usually do. Neither of them mind, watching movies, napping, and drinking complimentary wine since Zed has a lot of pull with the airline.
Addison spends much of the trip in her hotel room while Zed is out on business. When he's not, they explore the city of romance, walking hand in hand through the streets, checking out all the historic sites.
On their last day, they browse the shops along the Rue Saint Honoré – for the third time that trip. Addison loves looking in the shops and trying on the clothes, but always refused to buy more than she could afford, despite Zed assuring her that he wanted to pay.
But today would be different. He had a plan.
The first store they head into is a shoe store. Addison instantly floats to a pair of silver heeled boots on display in the window. She practically drools over them.
"You should try them on," Zed suggests.
Addison inspects them, her smile wavering. "They're nearly two grand!"
"We're on vacation, in Paris," Zed points out. He steps closer to her, wrapping his arms around her middle. She melts into his embrace, just like she always did. "More specifically, you are on vacation, in Paris, with your super rich boyfriend. Who wants nothing more than to spoil you everyday of your life."
"B-but…"
He presses his lips to her neck, making her shudder and lose her train of thought.
"Just one pair, huh?" Zed asks.
She nods slowly. "J-just one."
They get back to their hotel that night with six new pairs of shoes.
When they get back to Seabrook, Zed revamps their home, taking out a walk in the empty bedroom next to theirs and building her her own shoe closet.
Three.
Zed works from home more often than not. Except, apparently, on the day of his and Addison's one year anniversary, where he leaves before he wakes up with a promise of taking her out someone special that night at eight.
And…he's late.
Granted, it's only ten minutes. But Zed was never late.
She isn't worried because she already texted Bonzo, Zed's main security detail as well as Addison's best friend's fiancé, and Bonzo assured her that he was fine and caught up downtown.
She sits in the living room, dressed in a silky pink dress with matching pumps, completely ready for a night out. And he's late. He didn't even text her, which is the worst part!
Something had to be wrong for him to be late – now twelve whole minutes. If not with him or work, then, well, with her. That was the only logical next step. Zed never showed up late, and if he ever thought he might, he always let her know first. He's just never late!
Across the house, the front door slams shut, followed by the rapid footfalls that she knows only belong to Zed.
Addison stands, crossing her arms over her chest and frowning. She has to physically push down her worry; he deserves a chewing out, at least a little bit. He was late, without a single call or text! What if something bad happened, what would she have done?
Zed comes running into the room out of breath. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I know I'm late and I know I forgot to text you–"
"Yeah!" she exclaims. "You're lucky Bonzo texted me back, otherwise I would be actually worried sick!"
"I know, I'm sorry." He lets out a breath, running a hand through his hair. "I had to go grab your present and the jeweler was giving me so much shit – but, I'm sorry again."
She continues to frown, but relaxes her arms at the sight of his furrowed brows and big, brown eyes. She can't stay mad at him, not when he looks so cute when he's apologetic. Plus, you know, he mentioned jewelry, which is pretty much the only gift he's never given her. He bought her a car before he bought her a simple pair of earrings, for Pete's sake! She's intrigued.
"It's okay, I just get worried when I don't hear from you," she says. "What if something bad were to happen?"
"I get it, I'd be a little upset too, Addy," he says. He closes the space between them, wrapping her up in his arms. "Happy anniversary, baby. Sorry for worrying you."
His lips ghost across her forehead and she sighs into his embrace. She lifts her head and smiles. "Do we have reservations or do you have something mischievous up your sleeves?" she asks.
Zed grins, and it's obvious what his answer will be. "Both, of course," he says. "But we don't need to be at the restaurants until later, and I got you a little something special."
He steps back, pulling a small black bag from behind his back.
"I know it's jewelry, Zed."
"Yeah, I kinda fumbled the bag on that one." He shrugs, then holds it out to her. "Happy anniversary, baby."
She grins, graciously taking the bag from him. "I got you something too!" She turns, grabbing the large gift bag hidden behind the couch. She's had it hidden there for days and he never noticed! "Happy anniversary, Zed. I hope you like it."
Zed's smile breaks into a wider grin. "You didn't have to get me anything."
"Just open it!"
He tears through the tissue paper like a kid on Christmas, then carefully pulls out the large picture frame. His eyes scan over the photo inside – a blown up picture of the two of them on their first vacation to his Seabrook beach house almost a full year ago. She took it while he was in the middle of giving her a piggyback ride, both of them laughing in the photo.
"To my favorite trustfund baby," Zed reads with a smile. "Everyday has been an adventure, even when we do nothing but lay in bed all day. Here's to another lifetime of adventures. Love, Addy." He looks up at her, his eyes shining. "Oh my god, Addy, this is – I love it."
"R-really?" She had been worried at first when she went with such a sentimental gift. After all, Zed bought her thousand dollar shoes four months into their relationship, and that's not even the most expensive, luxurious, outrageous thing he's gifted her!
Zed nods. "This is the best thing anyone has ever given me," he says earnestly. He carefully places it on the side table, then steps forward, cradles her jaw, kisses her, short and sweet. "I love you, Addy."
"I love you too," she says. "Can I open my gift now?"
He nods. "Yeah."
Addison opens the small bag, finding a small black box inside. She shakes open the box, revealing a small folder note covering the gems on the studded chain. She giggles, flipping the note open. "To Addy. A one in a million necklace for a one in a million girl. Love, Zed." She looks up at him and exclaims, "Aw!" before she realizes exactly what it says.
"Wait, a one in a million–" She looks back at the box, down at a diamond studded necklace with a simple charm of an 'A' and a 'Z' intertwining. "O-oh my god. This is…it's beautiful."
She looks up at Zed, feeling her eyes water at the sight. It's beyond beautiful, and it doesn't even jarr her that it's apparently one in a million. It's them, A and Z, together forever.
She throws her arms around his neck, kissing him hard. He laughs but kisses her back, gripping her hair at the base of her neck.
"I love you," he murmurs against her lips.
Addison hums her agreement. She pulls her lips back, breathing heavily. "When are our reservations again?" she asks quietly.
"Nine," he breathes.
"Good."
Despite everything yesterday, my last ask inspired me to write this :')
Tumblr media
After the events of Zombies 2, Willa consistently (like, once every couple months) admits she maybe needs to rest and plans to take a day off, to the joy and relief of all. But as soon as the day dawns, she’s restless. Her packmates tell her to relax, sometimes going so far as to physically drag her back to the den. But when they turn around, they notice she's following behind them, doing her chores and tasks anyway. Even on extremely low-energy days when most of the pack is resting, Willa is checking on others or working on a project. It's almost like it's her natural, idle state to fuss.
Deep down, Willa still feels the urge that she has to protect her pack, has to make sure they survive (despite them thriving, especially now that they’ve got the moonstone back). It’s a habit she doesn't know how to shake, one that frustrates her to no end. The battle is over, she knows she's allowed to breathe, but she just can't. 'I'm too used to the routine', she thinks. The pack's given up trying and maybe she should too. It's been a good way to keep her mind busy and sharp at least.
So fast forward to after the events of Zombies 3. Aspen, observing their first "Willa Day", immediately decides to confront Willa about it. "You said you wouldn't work today", they say, curious. "But I forgot about this", "I'll be done in a minute", "Don't worry about it", the replies roll off Willa's tongue like they always do.
After talking (see lovingly interrogating) the town, Aspen is determined to actually make Willa chill out on Willa Day. They recruit the entire town to help. Everyone's been told that if they see Willa, they should gently corral her back home. Addison and Zed --returning from Mountain College for winter break and itching to see what’s changed-- immediately jump into the fray of fulfilling Willa’s duties. Wynter, Wyatt, and the rest of Willa's pack clean up, prepare lunch, and make a big fluffy nest in the middle of their den so Willa never has to move a muscle. And Aspen is tasked with making sure Willa never leaves said nest. A perfect plan, if Aspen could say so themself.
When Willa wakes up that morning, she is shocked. 'There really is nothing left to do in town other than relax here', she thinks defeatedly as she slumps into the nest next to her partner. The day creeps along, they begin to binge-watch a generic sitcom together, and Aspen is truly exposed to cuddles for the first time. It is hilarious and awkward as it sounds, a mix of Aspen trying to replicate their research on comfiest positions and Willa trying to make them let loose. They eventually find their groove.
As the afternoon lulls, in that quiet, comfortable space between episodes --where there’s enough quiet to hear her own thoughts, where it feels like everything might be alright without her— Willa does something she hasn't done in years.
She cries.
Aspen freezes; crying isn’t relaxing and Willa should be smiling. But…it feels like this time, maybe it’s ok for Willa to not smile. Maybe this is exactly what she needed.
The next day, Willa would attest that it was the worst day ever, that she couldn't wait to get back and can someone take those stupid "Willa: Do Not Enter" signs off the froyo cart?? But not even she could deny how she walked with a fondness in her eye, with a little bit of weight off her shoulders.
