Happy Thursday, Masikati akanaka l haven't shared a recipe in a long time here is a Cheese bread with garlic and herbs recipe馃構 Homemade Cheese bread What is needed 1 cup Iukewarm milk 2 teaspoons yeast 1/2 cup(125ml) butter softened 1/4 cup sugar or less 1 egg 1 teaspoon salt 2 chopped garlic cloves 1/2 teaspoon parsley 2 and 1/2 cups Plain Flour(add more if required) 1cup(250ml) shredded cheese (Cheddar or Yellow Gouda) Garlic butter; 1/2-1 tablespoon butter melted 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley How it's done In a large bowl, whisk together milk and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly(foams) - this is how you know your yeast is working. Add butter, sugar, egg, salt, parsley and mix with whisk until eggs are beaten (butter may still be a little chunky, and that's okay). Add the flour gradually, one cup at a time, and mix with your hands. Add just enough so that the dough is smooth but slightly sticky. Place in a greased bowl and turn to coat the ball of dough. Cover with plastic wrap or a clean towel and set in a warm place to rise for 60 minutes or more until doubled. Lightly grease a 8inch pan and roll dough into a聽 ball, creating as smooth a top as possible. Place in pan聽 and cover to let rise for about 30 minutes, until doubled. Meanwhile, heat oven to 180 degrees, after the second rise sprinkle with cheese on top on the dough. Bake for 22-25 minutes, until medium golden brown. Garlic butter: Stir together melted butter, garlic powder and parsley and brush over rolls if desired. Good afternoon(Maswera sei馃嚳馃嚰)鉂わ笍鉂わ笍 Homemade Brown Bread This is a simply recipe especially for beginners. *WHAT IS NEEDED* 3/4 cup warm water 2 teaspoons instant yeast 1 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar 1/2 cup milk 1 tbsp shortening/butter/margarine 3 cups Gloria Brown Flour @gloria_flour *HOW IT'S DONE* Gather the ingredients. Pour the warm water in a large bowl. Slowly stir in the dry yeast, sugar and continue to stir until all of the yeast is dissolved let it stand covered for 5minutes until it foams. Then add the half of the flour salt, and milk to the bowl. Stir until everything is thoroughly combined. Mix in the shortening and the remaining flour. If needed, begin adding more flour, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough chases the spoon around the bowl. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead about 15minutes. Add small spoonfuls of flour as needed, until the dough is soft and smooth (not sticky to the touch). You may not need all of the flour, or you may need a little more. Keep the surface floured to prevent the dough from sticking to the surface and your hands. Put the dough in a greased bowl, turn the dough over so that the top of dough is greased. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm, place for about 1 hour, or until doubled. Or in the refrigerator overnight After the rise punch in the dough and knead again for 5minutes then put your dough in a greased bread pan. Brush the top with egg wash/milk, cover and let rise for about 30 minutes, or until doubled. If your kitchen is chilly place the pan in the oven with the light on for this step or you may not get a proper rise. Brush again with egg wash/milk after the second rise and top with Place it in the preheated oven and bake on 180degrees for about 45 minutes or until golden brown. Turn out the loaf of bread and let cool on a rack or clean dishtowel. Good evening fellow foodies, dinner is served Turmeric Rice, Baked Bacon Eggs, Salad and Gravy on the side. Here is the recipe for Baked Bacon Eggs very easy馃槝. Baked bacon eggs Preheat oven to 180degrees . Grease a casserole dish . Boil eggs to desired preference, l like mine hard boiled . Remove shells. Wrap each egg in聽 strips of bacon. Make sure to secure in the ends of the strips with a toothpick so that the bacon stays securely wrapped on the eggs. Place each wrapped egg into the greased casserole dish . Bake for about 15-20 minutes. Gently turn eggs to other side and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes until bacon is crispy. Season with pepper no need to add salt as bacon already have salt. Happy Monday:Maswera sei, Litshonile, Kunjhani dinner is served peanut butter rice, beef stew and dried covo pleasant evening. 鈻燘eef Stew recipe馃摑 Very popular in most households in Zimbabwe mainly served with Sadza or rice Author: Tendy Culinary Focus Servings : from 5 Prep time:10minutes Cooking time: 20minutes Total: 30minutes 鈼廤hat is needed 500g Beef of choice 1 teaspoon salt or more 2 teaspoon of any thickener you have flour, mealie meal, royco etc. I large pot 1 large onion chopped, 1 tomato finely diced Fresh pepper and garlic Icup( 250ml) water+ 1/2cup water 鈼廐ow its done Cut beef in cubes, then place in your pot and add 1 cup of water& bring to a boil for about 10-20 minutes depending with the type of beef After the water has finished, fry your beef until well done or golden brown. Then add your onions, garlic and tomatoes mix everything then cook for 5 minutes on medium-high heat to allow the tomatoes, garlic & onions to cook through Now add thickener, pepper together with 1/2cup water &lastly simmer for 5-10minutes until the soup is no longer runny and its thick. Mafeti Kuku(Fat cooks) Servings: 12 Prep time: 5 mins Cook time:10 mins Total: 15- 20mins *What is needed * 2cups sifted self raising flour 猬嗭笍If using plain flour/cake flour add(1 teaspoon baking powder+pinch of salt) 1 and 1/2 cup water 2 tablespoons sugar (optional) Oil as needed (use 1/2 tablespoons each as you go) *How it is done* Heat oil in a pan Mix flour, sugar and water a running consistency is good Then use a tablespoon at a time to take the batter and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side. Add oil in the pan as you go repeat the process until you finish all the batter and your fat cooks are cooked. These fat cooks won't be greased try it and thank me later Serve and enjoy.
