What's your opinion on zubrs aka European bison? I saw one up close when I was taken on a tour to Belovezhskaya puscha national park as a kid and I've been fascinated by them my whole life. It still blows my mind how they basically went extinct with only 52 specimen surviving and then they were bred back into a stable population just from 12 surviving animals. Now there's atleast 300 of them living free in the last remains of the primeval European forest that used to cover the whole continent and many more in other forests and preserves.
