A Harmless Thought
Prompt Type: Hero x Villain
Genre: Sickfic
Hours passed, and Villain found themself still sitting in Hero's living room, watching over their sleeping form with a mixture of confusion and concern. It wasn't like them to linger, especially not in the lair of their arch-nemesis. Yet, something about Hero's weak state tugged at Villain's conscience, refusing to let them leave.
As the first light of dawn crept into the room, Villain finally stood up, stretching their stiff limbs. They had to get out of there before Hero woke up and things became complicated. But as they turned to leave, they noticed something that made them pause: a small, almost imperceptible movement from Hero.
Villain's heart skipped a beat as they turned back, their eyes locking onto Hero's face. For a moment, they thought they saw a flicker of awareness, but it was quickly replaced by a deep cough that racked Hero's body.
Without thinking, Villain rushed to Hero's side, helping them sit up and supporting their back as they coughed violently. It was a moment of pure instinct, one that Villain couldn't explain even to themself.
As the coughing fit subsided, Hero's eyes fluttered open, unfocused and confused. They looked up at Villain, and for a moment, there was no recognition—just a deep, unspoken plea for help.
Villain's grip on Hero's shoulders tightened, a surge of protectiveness washing over them. "You need to drink something," they said, their voice softer than they intended.
Hero nodded weakly, and Villain helped them take a few sips of water. As they did, Villain realized that they had no intention of leaving now. Not until Hero was better.
The thought sent a shiver down Villain's spine. What was happening to them? They were the villain, the one who always got away, who never stayed in one place long enough to be caught. And yet, here they were, nursing their greatest enemy back to health.
As the sun rose higher in the sky, casting a warm glow over the room, Villain made a decision. They would stay, at least for now. Not because they cared, of course. Just because it was... convenient.
But as they looked at Hero, who was now watching them with a mixture of confusion and gratitude, Villain couldn't shake the feeling that they were in over their head.

A Harmless Thought
Prompt Type: Hero x Villain
Genre: Sickfic
Part Two
Villain sighed in frustration as they stumbled through Hero’s apartment, their usual grace faltering as they bumped into yet another piece of furniture.
Breaking in was supposed to be simple: grab the file, get out, and leave no trace. But Hero’s apartment was far larger than Villain had anticipated, and navigating it in the pitch-black darkness of 3 a.m. was proving to be a challenge.
The loud crash of a knocked-over lamp made Villain wince. If Hero wasn’t awake before, they certainly would be now.
Villain braced themself for the inevitable confrontation—a sleepy but sharp Hero ready to fight them off with biting words or, worse, actual combat. But when Villain finally stumbled into the softly lit living room, illuminated only by the glow of a still-playing television, they froze.
Hero lay sprawled on the couch, completely unaware of Villain’s intrusion. One arm dangled limply over the edge, and their face was pale, beads of sweat glistening on their forehead. Dark circles lined their eyes, and the floor around them was littered with crumpled tissues. Hero looked nothing like their usual confident self—strong, sharp, and unyielding. Instead, they looked... vulnerable.
Oh.
That explained why Hero hadn’t shown up to their fight yesterday. Whatever illness had struck them down had done so with a vengeance, leaving them too weak to even make it to their own bed.
Villain glanced down at the file clenched in their hand. It would be so easy to leave now—to take what they came for and disappear into the night while Hero lay defenseless and unaware. With Hero in this state, Villain could likely get away with far more than just this one file.
But then their gaze drifted back to Hero’s shivering form, and something twisted uncomfortably in Villain’s chest. A blanket wouldn’t hurt... right?
Villain sighed and made a quick trip to Hero’s bedroom, returning with a soft blanket that they carefully draped over Hero’s trembling shoulders. They told themself that this was enough—that they could leave now without guilt weighing on them—but their feet didn’t move toward the door. Instead, they found themself tidying up the mess of tissues on the floor and setting a glass of water on the coffee table within Hero’s reach.
Without thinking, Villain reached down and rested a hand against Hero’s cheek. The heat of their fevered skin made Villain wince slightly; it was clear that no one else was taking care of Hero in their time of need. Not that Villain cared—of course not—but...
They sighed again as they sank down onto the loveseat across from Hero, arms crossed tightly over their chest as if to shield themself from whatever strange feelings were bubbling up inside them.
A few hours wouldn’t hurt... right? Just to make sure, nothing happened while Hero slept off whatever illness had taken hold of them. After all, it wasn’t like Villain cared or anything... right?

hi everyone! this is just a post clarifying some things about my own content and future requests i may receive, so i would appreciate it if you took the time to please read
there are a few things i personally don't feel comfortable writing, including:
nsfw (including friends/enemies with benefits relationships)
sensitive topics garnering around things i don't feel i have enough knowledge or place in writing (such as s*icide and sh...)
certain whump situations
and more! i will specify when i don't feel comfortable writing a topic.
i also am not in or a part of a lot of fandoms and have very little knowledge in those departments (including anime, Marvel, Star Wars, etc.). so when writing for specifics, i'll try my best, but I will most likely be very limited with what i know (sorry!)
i hope this clears some things up! i have gotten some asks lately asking for things that i don't feel that i can hold up to, so i thought this would be helpful. thank you!
