Unfortunately, today on the 3rd of September, actor Michael Clarke Duncan was pronounced dead at a LA hospital due to a heart attack he experienced earlier in July. No new updates have yet to come through, but for now we'll just express our dearest sincerity and love for his family.

Lawless Review
Tumblr media
Lawless is a tricky one. As I sat through the supposedly historic time period of American society where alcohol was illegal to buy and/or sell, I couldn't help but feel like some form of moderation was missing, and that might have been the form of script writing.
Of course if you put Tom Hardy into a film and you have the main premise surrounding him then you're going to be guaranteed a well acted film, especially if you throw in some good old Gary Oldman. However, the most convincing performance was Guy Pearce's as the evil detective all the way from Chicago. At the end of the film, I realized how much I actually hated Guy Pearce's character, not because he was a badly written character, but because the film makers want you to hate him; and Guy Pearce delivered. Shia Labeouf did sway away from his Transformers character, I must admit, which is a good thing for him. Gary Oldman did not get enough screen time for his talent and his character was far too interesting to just have 10 minutes of screen time, which was disappointing.
Over all, the costumes and the settings were accurate and appealing, as well as the acting. This film fails in its attempt to showcase a non formulaic screenplay, which only master minds such as Quentin Tarantino can deliver. The film was entertaining and a good time if you admire Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce and Shia Labeouf.

This is probably my personal second favourite series airing right now, behind Breaking Bad (of course). This series is so intuitive and well written that it makes one wonder why these ever come to an end.
I like the fact that Dexter isn't just a crime series where each episode has its killer. They search for a killer for an entire season, and sometimes the connections between the killer and other characters just make it that much more interesting. I won't say any more, but go watch it if you haven't!
Season 7 starting late September!!!

Say hello to the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D poster (that inevitably makes the title out to be just Texas Chainsaw 3D, but still). I'm a horror fan and I'm ready for this! :)

Argo (Ben Affleck's third film as a director, due out this fall) was recently screened at a couple of festivals and sneak peek screenings and was received with magnificent reviews by critics ranging from The Hollywood Reporter to Deadline.
They claim it's all beautifully done, every little piece of detail from the costumes to the hair to the cinematography to the directing (of course). Three quarters of the film is said to be extraordinarily told, but the final act sells the entire film as a thriller. There is comedic relief in the film as well, so don't worry about that.
I'm personally extremely excited for this as The Town (another brilliant masterpiece of a film by Ben Affleck) blew my mind away and I'll forever be excited for anything Benny brings to the big screen (as director).

The Hobbit concludes its trilogy on July 18 2014. The second instalment opening on 13 December 2013 will respectively be titled The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Smaug is the dragon from the books, so I'm assuming Smaug will be lonely? The third instalment will be titled The Hobbit: There and Back Again.
How do you guys feel about this title and the release dates? Are you guys excited for this prequel trilogy? Hopefully it's no Star Wars prequel :p

I honestly don't know what he's wearing and why he's wearing it, but regardless, he's always a badass. Pulp Fiction gave him every right to do whatever the hell he wants to do with himself because respect will always be secured with that film.

Say hello to the new characters of the Twilight Series! :) I know a lot of you are happy this is ending, but personally I'm excited to see how it end as I've yet to read the second half of Breaking Dawn because I found something better to do. Regardless, I'm excited!
