~I saw Jesus Christ Superstar in the theater when it was first released. I remember at the time (1972) that some people were dismayed by the end of the movie because it didn't show the resurrection of Jesus. However, if you look very closely, in the last scene with the sun setting behind the cross, something unplanned occurs. A shepherd is seen with sheep walking from the lower left side of the scene. This was not part of the script and was unplanned. Someone on set said that they would have to cut because someone had gotten into the scene, but Norman Jewison, who was directing, said to keep filming. They watched as the shepherd and his sheep disappeared into the hills. Norman Jewison, who also directed such films as Fiddler on the Roof, The Thomas Crown Affair, and Moonstruck, said that he didn't know how the shepherd got in the scene, as the area was blocked off for filming. But it was so appropriate that he kept it in the movie as the final scene.
This was discussed in the 2021 film, Superstars: The Documentary, about the making of Jesus Christ Superstar, which shows the clip at the end with the shepherd and sheep. A lot of people have missed this because it's at a distance, but a newer, remastered version of the film shows it clearly.
The question has been asked: "At the end of Jesus Christ Superstar, why was the actor (Ted Neeley) who played Jesus, not on the bus? Why was he not on the bus, considering there was no resurrection scene?"
The following is the story from Ted Neeley himself:
Ted said that when he took on the role of Jesus, it was essential to both him and Director Norman Jewison that as soon as he stepped off the bus, he became Jesus, and that because he was assuming this role, becoming this person, he would never be getting back on the bus. And then he asked me if I had noticed the "end" of the movie, and I could tell he was referring to something I missed.
Ted said that one thing that has always been difficult for him is that the movie did not include the resurrection of Christ, and it was something that pained him this same night as the theatre’s stage did not allow for his ascension. And he said, "Next time you watch the movie, right at the end, as the bus jerks away and Judas looks off into the sunset, the camera pans to the sunset and the crosses. You will notice movement across the bottom of the screen. Look closely, and you will see it is a shepherd walking across the desert. It was not planned and we only knew about it once we saw the reel." He then said, "I have goose bumps right now, thinking about it, and sharing this with you. It was truly unplanned."
The resurrection of Jesus wasn't written into the script of this film, but God provided it by circumstance~

Urgent Help:
Help my family survive and start a new life
Hello everyone, thank you for taking a moment to read our story.
I am Hazem Shawish, and I am trying to save my family from this war.
We live in Gaza, where we face significant challenges due to the current situation.
My family consists of 11 members, including my mother, two daughters, four sons, and three children.

In the shadow of conflict, our family has faced unimaginable hardships. The passing of my father, a victim to the cruel grasp of hunger and inadequate healthcare, left a void in our lives, underscoring the fragility of our existence here. My brother, Samer, battles bipolar disorder, a condition exacerbated by the ongoing war and the severe shortage of essential medications. Without access to the necessary treatment, his life is at risk, and we live in constant fear for his well-being amidst the chaos that surrounds us. These personal tragedies have deepened the urgency of our situation.

Every day is a struggle for survival, and each night is filled with prayers for a brighter tomorrow. We hold onto hope, believing that one day the clouds will dissipate, and we will find the peace we long for.
Our home, which was a sanctuary for us, was destroyed, forcing us to live in a state of uncertainty and fear. We have lost the laughter of our children.

In 2017, American film researchers recovered “Something Good – Negro Kiss,” a short film depicting a playful kiss between a Black couple which had not seen the light of day for more than a century. A long-forgotten artifact from the earliest years of American film, the sweet, humanizing vignette, produced by the Selig Polyscope Company, makes a startling contrast to the overwhelmingly racist and blackface-ridden contempory portrayals of African Americans. Four years later in 2021, archivists in Norway, halfway across the world, identified a sister short in their collections—an extended alternate cut which reveals more of Chicago stage performers Gertie Brown and Saint Suttle’s vaudeville-like routine, a theatrical, hot-and-cold romantic dynamic between two lovers which parodies the popular and controversial short “The Kiss” (1896). Both films, which had previously been lost, were known from entries in old motion picture catalogs but had been assumed to be era-typical, anti-Black “race films” until their rediscovery in the 21st century. Together with its more famous sibling, which has since been inducted into the Library of Congress’ National Film Registry, this alternate version of “Something Good” represents the first-known instance of Black intimacy ever captured on-screen.
SOMETHING GOOD [Alternate Version] (1898) Directed by William Selig
