just wanted to pop in and say i was looking through your Charlie posts and realized that another reason he wears so many geographic tshirts of places he's never been is that he probably has very little clue what they say! and he probably also has a tenuous grasp of geography anyway, so he doesn't realize Lake Tahoe is on the other side of the country (and nor would he care even if he were aware). there's one tshirt he wore of a Minnesota highschool's name accompanied by an ASL graphic and I only just realized he probably liked the cool design and totally disregarded the words!

Sorry for taking so long to get to this message!  While I personally think the underlying reason that Charlie (and Mac!) has so many shirts from places he’s never visited is a lifelong dedication to thrifty shopping at thrift stores, warehouses of delights from the world of other people’s vacations, it’s absolutely true that Charlie’s shirts tend to be more visually interesting and place-centric than Mac’s wordier, more local-business-oriented tees.  Your headcanon about Charlie’s aesthetic taste is awesome, thank you for sharing!

You should try cataloging all of Dennis' flannel button ups just to show how often he wears them 😂 Only if you want to though, I know he wears a ridiculous amount. Istg I counted like 10 unique blue flannels and thats excluding the other colors. Imagining Dennis opening his basic-ass closet every morning and picking out a shirt thats nearly identical to the 20 other ones in there is rlly funny to me

Haha, I’ve definitely been planning to do this!  It’s a much more difficult prospect than recognizing and tallying down occasions various “ironic slogan” tees, though, so I’m not sure yet how to do it.  

Opening my basic-ass eyes to differentiating and describing his 20 different blue button-downs, and striped shirts, and checkers, and also everyone else’s classy clothes, is going to be a task and a half compared with the Charmac wordy thrift store shirts this blog has mostly been full of so far.  Suggestions on how to go about tagging basic colors and patterns the characters are wearing in a way that facilitates meta about each of them would be very welcome!
