I am very excited to share that I uploaded the first chapter of part 3. This has been a long time cooking and I can't believe it's been almost 1 1/2 years since finishing part 2. Ooops.

I hope you'll enjoy it. Here is the summary:

A Patch in the Mirror

Nightwing and the Titans have fallen into a comfortable rhythm of low-level crime but an encounter with the Rogues tells them that they are not ready for anything big. The world does not wait for them though as the Crime Syndicate guns for their reality. Can they rise to the occasion? Meanwhile, Jason seeks atonement in prison. (Talon-Dick AU,Birdflash!)

I am still working on it. I have 50k words written - though I am currently taking a break because I have some important things going with uni that need my full attention. I plan to continue in the summer and to publish something around that time. There are a lot of exciting things in it that I will be happy to share. :D

I've always thought it funny/hypocritical that Dick marries Emily in the Nightwing annual just for the sake of a mission, especially after the big deal about marriage that he makes when Kory marries for political reasons for ntt. Like he very much believes in marriage.

But what I didn't realize during the reread was that it was not Dick's idea for the wedding, but Bruce's.

and it always fucks me up that the literal next panel is Bruce affirming Dick's role as his heir, at a time where Dick is very much not super secure in his place. Bruce doesn't realize it, but of course Dick is going to take this mission even though he doesn't want to because Bruce asked.

pictured: Dick sleeping on the couch and celebrating not sleeping in the same room as his wife. Like he's obviously very uncomfortable with the situation hes found himself in but he's still doing it because Bruce asked him to.

It also explains why he didn't invite the Titans to the wedding - he knew they knew him too well and would tell him to not go through with it.

Continuing to write

I feel like I've figured out the beginning of this story and how I want all the different plot lines to fit together and be structured. But wow - this thing will be a monster (around 30k words and this is basically the beginning).

I'm bringing in quite a lot of new characters (not the ones people necessarily expect) and I want to do them all justice while keeping the main focus on Nightwing and Jason.

Hello, I just finished reading your series “talons brothers and redemption “ in a week (which I regret how much sleep I lost lol) and it’s so beautiful. Well that’s a lie I’m on the last chapter rn but I skip to notes bc I was curious if there was a part 3 coming up which I was right lol. Anyways your writing is so beautiful and action packed and just an amazing style . I hope the progress with the third part is going well and have a good day :D

Update: Working through *the mess*

Just checking in to tell you all that I'm still very much active and writing. Part of my process is to write multiple versions of the beginning of the story until I have worked out how to balance all the plot threads.

It gets more complex with every part because I'm opening up the universe to include more characters while still keeping the focus on Nightwing and Jason as our anchors. So, I'm working on part three but it'll take a while. I have so many exciting ideas in my head that I have to balance in the story. (I'm not joking. I have so many unused scenes for this AU on my computer - sometimes I rediscover them and it's fun.)

I've also been reading *many* comics. It's mostly for fun but it's also research. It allows me to make this AU feel more lived in and to introduce more characters. From the beginning of this trilogy to now, I've gotten so much more versed into the DC universe and learning about different corners. It also reflects in my writing. I basically introduce whichever characters I learn to like over time.

I can already tell you that part 3 will have a lot more taken from Flash-lore because Flash-characters are awesome. Wally is definitely getting more focus on his own corner.
