Keeping them inside for the duration of their transformation is often the best way to ensure your precious pup’s safety (and that of their surroundings). Many families convert their basement into a shapeshift-safe zone, but any suitably secure room will do. Everyone knows a bored baby werewolf is a terrible thing to be dealing with, so here are our top recommendations:

Raw lamb and beef bones are a traditional toy and treat in one, but nowadays some parents prefer not to ‘encourage the wolfish hunger’. If your child is on the aggressive side, it may not be the right choice, but it can be a great outlet for a hungry pup.

Jute rope toys are recommended for everyone. They’re tough, perfect for chewing on, and quite safe to destroy.

Made-to-break toys, with new toys hidden inside the original, are always a big hit with the little ones.

Do take care never to leave your transformed child unattended! Young werewolves can get pretty destructive when playing and they must not accidentally swallow their recently defeated toys!

Things to avoid:

Duvets, pillows and mattresses. Your darling pup will destroy them and it will be one heck of a mess. We know it sounds bad, but just get them a sturdy dog bed, they’ll love it. (Some young ones go through a phase of only wanting to sleep in their werewolf-proof bed, as long as this isn’t because of a fear for their wolf form this is absolutely okay and nothing to worry about.)

Squeak toys. Trust us. It’s not worth it.
