I also, weirdly enough, know where most of this came from? Erika Ishii is one of my favourite contestants on Game Changer, which is getting a season 7 in a week, and I had just seen Wicked yesterday, so that's the rainbow bricked road. For Charli, I think it was getting the 360 video in my youtube feed, and also Black Country, New Road. Animal Crossing was because if a reddit post I saw just before napping, about someone recreating the Game Changer set in Animal Crossing. The Gordon Ramsey asbestos foam was about The Wizard Of Oz, and how they sprayed the Wicked Witch with fire extinguisher foam in that movie, and although I don't think that killed her, it did lead to health issues afaik/afair. The haircut is my mom booking me one, but me dreading it (cuz I'm a tranny, :P). And Corinne Bailey Rae is because of poc on the brick road, and her song Erasure being about the erasure of black people.
I just had the weirdest fever-nap-dream.
Erika Ishii, and four other gender-nonconforming poc that I didn't recognize, all slightly fem leaning, were walking down a rainbow brick road. Erika had a severed head in a white paper bag, for some reason??? The dream then zoomed out, to it being me and my sister watching this unfold (not through a screen, more like omnipresently), and apparently this was Charli XCX's new music video (there was no song playing) from a three part series. And I was like "wait I've seen that shot before, isn't it also in the 360 music video?" So I found the music video, but apparently it had originally been planned to be released as an Animal Crossing island instead of a music video (somehow...). So I opened up my animal crossing island, I started digging up fossils, but I fell into the holes of one of the fossils I was digging, and when I reached the bottom it was like a 2d Zelda dungeon, except my companions (that had somehow dropped into the hole with me???) both hit the ground to hard and died. I then considered restarting, but chose to just explore on my own. This Animal Crossing/Zelda crossover then slowly melded into a blindfolded reality cooking show where Gordon Ramsey was judging, and he really liked what I'd made, so I got to come over to his isolated floating island inside this pitch black recording studio, but you had to cross this super narrow bridge to get over there, like one of those carnival ones, but as if someone tried to make one of those somewhat safe to traverse. BUT, there was this big water wheel throwing foam at us, and it hit the food Gordow was eating. Then it like, zoomed out to 3rd person, and I was hearing the commentary of the youtube comments on a re-upload of the show a couple years later. They were all talking about how the foam contained ASBESTOS and that Gordon Ramsey FUCKING CHOKED. Then when this dude I was following got back to the other side of the island after talking to Gordon, it had changed set to this trivia panel show (still depressingly grey though), and while I was traversing behind all the judges, I was hearing info (that none of the judges were saying btw) about how Gordon's older sister had frozen herself down for 1,7 years (yes, specifically 1,7) in water, to honor Houdini??? Then she woke up, sold Twitch cuz it no longer aligned with her goals for it, AND THEN SHE ALSO FUCKING CHOKED.
And also I got a haircut while Corinne Bailey Rae was playing in the background.

I realized that there were a bunch of "classic" (classicness in various amounts) albums that I hadn't listened to yet, so I made it a project for me to listen to one classic album a week for all of 2025.
6th/13th of January:
Grateful Dead: American Beauty
Probably a good album, but I couldn't really enjoy any songs other than Rain In A Box and Ripple, though I really enjoyed those. Maybe it's my lack of experience in country and jam, but a lot of it was a bit boring and empty, just being the same kind of sound for every song.
4.8/10
Standouts:
Ripple
Rain In A Box
13th of January:
Patti Smith: Horses
A great and energetic album. I almost had a hard time sitting still while listening to it. Even just on a first listen, I can hear the amount of influence this has had on a lot of music. Gloria could be a Courtney Barnett song, and Redondo Beach sounds reminiscent of Blondie, except, in both cases, for Patti's unusual vocals. I would've liked some more hooks, the only one I still remember is "Gloooria"
6.8/10
Standouts:
Gloria
Redondo Beach
Horses
20th of January:
Aretha Franklin: I Never Loved A Man the Way I Love You
GOD is this album smooth and groovy. Of course I knew of Aretha, I have listened to Now before, and thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the first side. The only song from this album I had heard before though, was future TikTok sensation Respect. This album was so easy to get through, no song overstayed its welcome, and every effort of every song seems to succeed. My only issue with this album, is that many of the songs lacked something to make them stand out.
8/10
Standouts:
Respect
Soul Serenade
Baby, Baby, Baby
Do Right Woman, Do Right Man
A Change Is Gonna Come
23rd of January:
Radiohead: A Moon Shaped Pool
Nothing in this album really stands out to me. Maybe that's the goal, but it's not something I like in my music. Good music for falling asleep to, in that it is so boring it'll put me to sleep. I'll probably like this album better when I listen to it a couple more times, but right now it's a bore. Also live in Oslo is by far the better version of True Love Waits.
4.2/10
Standouts:
Burn the Witch
Ful Stop
Present Tense
29th of January:
Boris: Boris at Last - Feedbacker
Ambient drone metal album. I don't know how much more I can say about it. I wish it introduced more textures and had more discernible melody, tension, or builds in energy, but no, it's pretty flat for the first and last parts. Maybe that's on purpose? The drums are really good though, and the guitar tone is very nice. Will not return to any tracks but 1 and 2 though, if I want something ambient there are better options imo.
6/10
Standouts:
Feedbacker, Pt. 2
Feedbacker, Pt. 3

At this point it doesn't even really matter if I actually have adhd, the lifestyle adjustments I've made because I thought I might, have changed my life for the better

"This is way better than it has any business being" :\ what's that supposed to mean? Do you not think good material can come from "unintellectual" sources???

I was listening to Terror Twilight for the first time (2022 version) yesterday, and when I got to the outro of The Hexx, I was like "Wow this is really radioheady, this could've been on OK Computer", so I opened the song credits to check who had such a similar style in production to Nigel Godrich, only to find that it was in fact, Nigel Godrich
Now off this endorphin boost of being a good music listener, I of course go to his wikipedia page to read more about him (I do this every time I come across ANY celebrity, major or minor) only to find out that this man is STACKED in credits.
Not only did he produce every good radiohead album, but also some Pavement (as implied earlier), the best modern Paul McCartney album, some stuff for R.E.M., Arcade Fire, Beck, and Roger Waters, but most importantly PRODUCED AND CO-WROTE THE SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD SOUNDTRACK.
WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. HELL.
All this to say that Thom Yorke and Michael Cera are one degree of separation apart

I've only watched, like, 20 minutes of 0, but here are some similarities I noticed
• Voiced by the exact same person
• Constantly muttering
• Has an inferiority complex
• Actually scratch that, entirely identical personalities
• Prone to screaming
• Always wears a white shirt
• Short sharp black hair
• Sunken in eyes
• Looked down upon by literally everyone, except one adult in their mid 20s-early 30s who sees his potential and takes him under their wing
• Suffered abandonment-trauma 6 years ago
• Friends(?) with a conventionally attractive white haired man
• Is the strongest and has the most potential of anyone in his group
• Gets verbally abused by a girl who thinks she's better than him
• Sits on chairs with feet up and knees to his chin
• Probably a lot more
I'm a new Jujutsu Kaisen fan, finished season 1, and I've just began on 0, but it's just so baffling to me that they literally just added Shinji into the series. Like, that's literally just Shinji Ikari if Neon Genesis was a supernatural-comedy instead of a mecha anime
