Can't believe this was almost two years ago wow. Thanks to people here that helped me to repair and repurchase my audio equipment back then, you helped save my business!

As we hit the approximate halfway point for the Liars & Leeches crowdfund, we wanted to take some time today to explain why we're crowdfunding for season 2, while season 1 was self funded.

Initially, after releasing the season 1 finale in 2023, our goal was to immediately begin pre-production for season 2. However, nature had other plans, and a few weeks after the finale, @hemcreekprod's studio space was completely destroyed in a flood (Hemlock Creek Productions is our production company, and created our show). Not only was about 80% of our audio equipment destroyed, but we had to completely rip out the walls, as they absorbed a ton of water and began growing mold.

Fortunately, thanks to some incredibly generous folks, we were able to replace our audio equipment and get back to working with our clients after about two weeks. However, the budget for Liars & Leeches' second season had to go towards drywall removal, decontamination, and just making the space safe again.

That brings us to now. With the chaos from the flood finally settled, we can look towards making a new season of Liars & Leeches. If you would like to help support us, and gain access to some exclusive rewards as well, visit:

A friend and I were discussing what we're like when we're sick and we decided people usually fall into one of these five 'sick modes': *Everyone is probably multiple of these at different times depending on how sick they are and with what but we think most people have a mode they default to and become more often than the others*

Delicate Consumptive Victorian: you feel tragic and mournful but also beautiful in a sad way, you are in bed, sipping hot tea, others should quietly whisper about how you are too good for this world, too beautiful, too tragic... And bring you more tea

Sick Dog: you are curled up in a ball, you don't want anything, you don't need anything, but it would be nice if others could still ask you if you need anything

Sickly Child Emperor: you are dying and it's everyone else's problem, you need pillows, no! you need soup, no! You need absolute silence or you will not be the first one to die today

Plague Pit: you are curled up probably on the floor, no one touch you, no one look at you, this is between you and God and you already know He has no mercy left for you

Warrior General: you are not sick. You are in perfect health and you don't know why anyone would think otherwise. Illness is an enemy that can be intimidated and you must remain strong for your men! (You are going to pass out at the most inconvenient moment possible)

Hey, this one goes out to anyone who listens to fiction podcasts / audio dramas. I need your help. I've been asked to do some research on podcasts and as I am insane about fiction podcasts I decided to be specific and look into my interests. unfortunately i only know one person IRL who listens to these shows and that's not enough data for my course.

The form should only take a few minutes, if that (the more detailed the better) and there's a yap box for anyone as insane about these shows as me or if you want to recommend a podcast you want more people to listen to.

I deeply apricate anyone who does this. Thank you so much. If you can please share this with people you know who listen to these shows, I also have a more general form for all podcasts if people want that one. Love you all :)

I'm so excited to be returning to the world of Liars & Leeches. We're working on pre-production and writing scripts right now and this season is going to be SO good.

An Update on "Liars & Leeches"

It’s been a while since we released the finale of our show’s first season. Since then, “Liars & Leeches” has been listened to tens of thousands of times in more than 80 countries, and we couldn't be more grateful for the support we’ve received since its initial release. 

Initially, our plan was to begin pre-production and script writing of our second season in the fall of 2023 and release it this year. However, the past year has been a very long one, full of ups, downs, and some big changes in the lives of our cast and crew. Now that the dust has begun to settle, we’ve been digging deep into the pre-production stage of season two, with the writing of the plot nearly complete and work creating the scripts about to begin. We’re very excited to return with new episodes, and we have big plans for this upcoming season, including expanding our season length, as well as the size of our cast.

To help us with our ambitious goals for the second season, we are launching an Indie GoGo campaign. The pre-launch page for the campaign is currently live, and you can sign up there to receive updates when the full campaign launches. There are a host of rewards available for this campaign, including early access to season two episodes, a Q&A form where you can submit questions to both our season one and season two cast and crew, scripts annotated by our creator, scriptwriter, and sound designer, and an original “Liars & Leeches” short story written by our script writer KJ Scott.
