On Friday, a group of protestors walked on Highway 89 in Cameron, Ariz., protesting Pinyon Plain Mine owner Energy Fuels trucking uranium ore through the Navajo Nation to Utah. Uranium has a long history of impacts on the Navajo Nation and its people since the 1940s. "We've seen the effects of these things in the past on our land, the spills into our rivers, into our communities, the residual effects on our on our health, of our children, our elders," Cameron resident Adair Klopfenstein said. "It's awful, and we don't want it to happen again." The Pinyon Plain Mine, formerly known as Canyon Mine, began mining uranium ore in December and is expected to be actively mining for at least five years. The company had told 12News at the end of June it would start transporting the uranium ore to a mill in southeast Utah in July or August. That hauling appears to have started before the pause was put in place. "I call it illegal smuggling across our border and then through the Navajo Nation," Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren said.

I don't know how many of my followers are furries but we just lost one of ours.

He died because the medical industry in the US refused to help. He was murdered in a million little ways, with a million automated systems.

He was on bluesky no more than five hours ago, now he's gone.

Dragoneer ran FurAffinity, which is more or less the furry art site. It looks like its' from the early aughts, has no native pdf support, and has zero discoverability or algorithmic function. It's home to me, it's always been home.

No matter how often I moved or how often my life radically changed, there was FA. I met my husband on the forums. Through the majority of its' life, Dragoneer kept it running. He never sold us out, never tried to keep up with trends. It's a community.

And there is something bitter about losing someone who was key to keeping one of the relics of the internet before corporations took over.

We have our home, but it's lost its' keeper.

*Natsume's Book of Friends / Natsume Yūjin-chō / Natsume Yuujinchou / 夏目友人帳 -* This beautiful anime full of love and sadness alike will take you on a hell of a fun ride and make you bawl your eyes out for characters you've just met. I went into this knowing absolutely nothing and came out with a new addition to my personal loved anime list, and I hope anyone else who checks it out loves it too!

Type : TV Show

Ran From : a Summer release of July 8th 2008, to September 30th 2008.

Length : 13 episodes consisting of a standard 24 minutes per episode.

Intro/Outro: Lizard crawling on someone's face (they're okay with this), some very mild fast moving imagery. Outro completely safe.

*Another / アナザー -* the infamous horror anime with that absolutely wild umbrella scene. This one is quite intense and mildly gorey and almost all the characters who get hurt are children.

*Way of the House Husband / The Way of the Househusband / Extreme Way of the Househusband / Gokushufudō / 極主夫道 -* this anime is really cute! its a very highly stylized, "low animated" shorts compilation show! its SO cute, you can truly tell this man loves his lady and the jokes land pretty well! if you dont do well with harsh expressions or traditionally scary masculine faces, this one might be uncomfortable for ya.

Ran From : i *believe* it was all released at once on April 8th, 2021 (netflix)

Trigger Warnings : Guns, Yakuza theme, harsh/dramatic/traditionally scary masculine faces/, **blood, fatal injury, multiple corpses,** many jokes about possible extreme danger turning out to be entirely mundane, smoking, **glass breaking**, closeups on eyes, sharp knives highlighted, bugs, outdoor cats, accidentally terrifying children, gambling with children, precious objects break, self harm(head slamming), reckless driving, large firearms, slapping, police, rolled back eyes, yelling.

Not a tw but a warning, **this shows' lack of motion can cause disorientation and confusion in the viewer.**

Overall, this anime is mostly just a lighthearted romp through a heavy topic, but it can still be extremely triggering for someone who doesn't like or want to engage with these topics. It's cute and lovely, but go in aware <3

Short Review

Air Gear is about a futuristic new brand of Automotive rollerskates that when modded allow the user to run as fast as cars. Street Gangs use these skates to fight in various turf wars over territory. Our protagonist is a plucky teenage boy who finds out that his adoptive three sisters are all skaters who have their own gang together, and inspired by the freedom the skates give, and letting him virtually fly, he and his friends form their own gang to prove themselves against the other gangs.

While the anime is technically science fiction, the writer's whimsical use of physics is often borderline fantasy, so should be treated more akin to Star Wars. a Fantasy series that uses the trappings of science fiction instead of outright canonizing magic. This whimsical use of science also extends to an (mis)understanding of biology, with the writer often using real medical conditions as flavor dressing for functional superpowers characters might have (an example being a Blood-Gut caused by Obesity giving a character a fresh supply of extra blood they can pump into their body on command to give them enhanced strength and stamina)

The series has otherwise gorgeous art when it is not being horribly offensive towards its underage cast of characters. Some battle art genuinely being some of the best art in shonen manga period. This is sadly poisoned by the fact that to enjoy this fantastic art, you have to sit through the mountain of a list of trigger warnings described above
