Chapter 3: Pocket-Sized for Your Convenience

Set before the events of Thor, Loki receives as large mysterious crate of alcohol the day before his birthday. What seems like a strange yet benign gift from an anonymous person ends up being more than he, or the woman at the bottom of the crate bargained for.

Over breakfast, Loki glanced back and forth between his dear mother and the strange little woman from the crate. Frigga demurely sipped her tea, making light conversation as they ate. The topic largely revolved around what the day’s events would be like. That is to say, full of public appearances early on and culminating in a large feast all through the palace and it’s expansive front courtyard. All this he already knew.

What he had not realized was that Lithium would clean up as well as she had. With her hair up and now in a dress, she seemed more like an adult woman than the mess she had been. At the same time, he did rather like the previous look, if he was honest with himself. The disheveled state she was in when busted her way out of the crate had it’s charms as well.

He also had to admit that her simple sleeveless shirt with the word “NO” on it did attract attention to her more prominent…features.

Chapter 2: Family is Weird

Loki did his best not to laugh out loud as he watched her trip over her own feet after taking a rather impressive leap over the crate. He had to stifle it all the more when she fell into the bathroom door enough to push it open. He schooled his expression back to neutral when she glanced over her shoulder before hastily shutting it behind her.  Only then did he let out a little chuckle.

Did I really have such an effect on her? Best to keep her guessing as to what I intend to do with her. All the more amusing for me.

He wandered over to one of two wardrobes lining one wall, while keeping an ear out for the sound of the bathroom door. He pulled a spare blanket  and pillow from it and tossed it on the small couch in his sitting area before digging into the other wardrobe, this one full of clothing.

At first glance, the crate was nothing particularly unusual or special.  Just a rough-hewn wooden box that had the sharp smell of being made of new boards. It was large but not so much as to cause alarm about what it might contain.

Not like the last time a larger container was in his room. Despite how many years had past, Thor still found it hilarious that he had pranked him with a box of angry water fowl.

In a few hours, the hubster and I are going on our first vacation ever! And by that I mean the first one longer than a weekend and with zero other responsibilities other than what we have planned. Inktober 13: For My Grandma ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This was not on my original list but today I found out that my paternal Grandma is likely to pass away in about two weeks to a month. I threw out the prompt for today and did something to honor her. She collected Carnival glass, including a set of swans similar to this, so I did something sort of abstractly colored like it (partially because I didn’t have the right inks for this).
