What are you up to these days?
Most of us must have felt a little bit uneasy due to the lockdown extension and I know we have been trying our best to keep ourselves busy and productive and as you all know, I am in no exception at all. But instead of reacting to it in a way that would cause me more anxiety, I have decided to make use of it to my advantage.
In my last post, I have shared that I have done some reflecting on my life and it helped me come up with different ideas on what I can do to boost my positive self-image now that I have the most time to look after myself in and out. Here are some of the things that keeps me busy:
1.) Reading fiction and non-fiction books
2.) Yoga and Meditation
3.) Learning Korean (Aiming for Intermediate!)
I hope you also enjoyed exploring your hidden talents during this quarantine season. Let us all stay strong & positive on this uncertain time ✨

Self Reflection in Isolation
As to date, this is the 51st day since the lockdown in our city.
If I have to be very honest with you, this has been the most uncertain time of my life. Ever since the isolation period started, I always caught myself in a negative loop of questions about life in general every now and then. Maybe, due to the fact that I have more time to sit back and reflect or maybe what is happening around us makes me wonder what really is my purpose.
It makes me uncomfortable to even think about it because I never really had a chance before to really go deep within myself and ask thought-provoking questions that would make me think about my values and priorities. That's because I always lived in the comfort of my own strength, imposing certain limitations upon myself to protect me from rejection and failure. But, it feels liberating to know that when I take things slowly and let life flow its natural course, it helps me see life differently and abundantly.
Here are some of the questions that I reflected that you might want to try to ask yourself, too.
1.) What can I do to combat the unproductive days doing absolutely nothing?
Being productive doesn't always mean doing something. We can use this time to self reflect. You simply don't have to do anything big, just breathe. It takes a whole lot of difference and that is still being productive in a sense, that you are giving yourself the time to sit back and look at life in a bigger picture. It paves a way for you to reconnect with yourself and reassess your priorities in life if it still has any importance to you in the long run. Give yourself a break. By knowing that you are using this to help you is being productive even without doing anything at all.
2.) What are the things that I always want to do but are afraid to do?
I always want to learn a new skill but I've always dreaded the action. I could think of a lot of reasons to not make it happen or not doing anything about it but, whenever it feels like it's too late I always have a list of my own "what if's". Knowing that, during my self reflection, I have come to know the real reason why I was always afraid to go beyond my limits. Doing so, helped me take necessary actions to do it especially now that I own my time and this is the perfect moment to come to a realization that life is too short to be afraid all the time.
3.) What are the things that you have noticed during this time that you haven't noticed before?
One thing is for sure, I love the balcony in our boarding house. I really love it here that I prefer to do everything in this place even though I have a room (Just kidding, but kinda true). My friends and family have been with me all this time despite that I have to be away for some time, not because I hated them but I needed some time and space to look after myself. I also prefer classical music over anything and yoga seems to be working for me more than any other routines. To add, I prefer to be up in the morning and watch the sunrise and be calm and surrender to its serenity and the list goes on! But, those were just the few.
But, what I know for sure is that it allowed me to take things in my advantage. By knowing both my strength and weakness, I learn to make some adjustments. I learned to accept the fact that life will be a continuous learning process for me and making mistakes is essential for growth and for living.
I hope the isolation did you well, too as it did to me. Not only from keeping us safe from the virus but by helping us make the best of our every day.
Keep thriving,
Kyrel

Hey guys, welcome to the book club!
I have been contemplating on this for a while now. I have always been so in love with the idea of starting a book club of my own where I can write review on the books that I have read, share insights and discuss thought-provoking questions openly and with respect. Since this quarantine, I have finally taken the steps to allow myself to go beyond my fears of communicating with other people with the same interest. So, here it is. The very start of my book club - The Next Page.
If you are interested to join, please follow along on the journey.
