I wrote 'Detest' and 'Dysthymia Dye' almost a year ago, just getting around to posting it publicly now. More to come, have many unfinished writing ideas I will try to finish in the coming weeks! Some new ideas brewing as well.

Potential genre ideas for my songwriting: Death Metal, Melodic, Jpop, Vocaloid, lofi, dancepop, trap, chillwave, Heavy Metal, Progressive Metal.

Track Name: 'Detest'

This writing, song concept, is almost anthemic in its nature. In some ways I wrote it to be a simple allegory for a personal experience into my past. Dealing with ignorance, trauma, scaring the inner workings of a past mind. The frustrations that end up boiling up deep inside and the feeling of being let down by those who are supposed to protect.

Whereas my previous songs written on 7/3/2024 'Echoes In The Undertow' dealt with lifes overall cyclical nature, needing to work through it one day at a time. Meanwhile '青い夢 (Blue Dream)' and '青い夢 (Blue Dream) Alt' was my take on poetry, the forever lingering, ever beautiful Blue Dream.

I have also thought, since this is a rather short writing, song, verse two can be repeated into the pre chorus a second time leading into the chorus, fitting with 'Detest's anthemic vibe. The 'babel! babel!' Segments in the chorus are meant to be in the background as ad-libs. Backing vocals is the idea. Repeated twice. I also like the idea of it being repeated 3-4 times. Sometime I feel like 'Seeing you for whom you've thread' I like more than 'who' interchangeable really haha

In Level 7-1 of New Super Mario Bros., striped swinging poles can be found in a bonus room. If Mario times his swing in such a way that he is blocked by a cloud platform, he will enter a glitched state where he will stay on the platform but move as though he was still holding on to the pole instead.

Note him swinging back and forth and climbing on seemingly nothing. Letting go of the pole will make Mario teleport underneath it, as seen at the end of the footage.

Track Name: 'Dysthymia Dye'

The Song deals with struggles on building and keeping relationships, not always romantic ones either. Dysthymia being that ongoing, persistent mental battle. Depression leaking its toxicity into different opportunities. Needing to 'Dye' said Dysthymia. I've also had variations of this song, with the pre-chorus being 2-4 times repeated.

Most games that have a dialogue system making use of more than one text style have an internal markup system (similar to e.g. HTML tags) used to determine properties of the text, such as size, color etc. inside the message.

In the Super Mario Galaxy games, some of these tags are not merely redundant but outright self-defeating, so that one tag may change the text properties only to be immediately undone by a different tag changing them to something else.

The image shows a baffling example of a message in Super Mario Galaxy 2 that visually changes color 5 times (starting with black, to red, to black, to blue and finally back to black), which would normally need no more than 5 color change tags.

However, internally, the game instead changes the color 10 times, including multiple times in a row into the same color. This messy implementation is likely a remnant of various rewrites of the original message whereby the tags were never cleaned up between revisions.
