Freed after fighting for the British during America's Independence War. . . Howbout all the plantain, yams, casava, potato leaf, rice, fish, cous cous...and everything else I ate in Sierra Leone?! 👏🏾 I had huge freshly caught crabs, barracuda fish and fresh calamari. #yummyinmytummy . . I was fascinated by the goods carried on the head. Bins filled with everything you could imagine: blankets, shoes, electronics, purses, wired baskets ...Women are the backbone of the African economy. In every country that I visited, women dominated the marketplace. My favorite picture captured on this trip is of numerous women carrying goods on their head. It was the start of the day, they were leaving their homes to go sell. So inspiring. No excuse. Grind hard, see the fruit of your labor. . . The Hands Off Our Girls march happened the first day I was in Sierra Leone. So sad what girls have to endure throughout the world 😔 . . I just want to take a moment to thank God for making beaches; my happy place! . . Did you know that the Cotton Tree in Freetown is possibly the oldest one in the world?
