Dedicated to things that make the world a more interesting, complex, beautiful, adorable, funny, wise, kind, and generally awesome (in all senses of the word) place! About me: queer, white, nonbinary gender, they/them pronouns. Also, I am incredibly ancient (39!) so if minors would like me to not follow back, just let me know!
To everyone having a tough Mother’s Day because you don’t have a mom, or don’t have the kind of mom or the kind of mother-child relationship the greeting cards are about,
Here is a super cool video of dancers with snychronized electronic suits. It’s one of the neatest videos I’ve ever seen and it has nothing at all to do with motherhood and I hope it brings you happiness or at least distraction.
Here is a subreddit of cats standing on their hind legs. All of the titles and all of the comments are just the word “cat” so you don’t have to worry about dealing with Reddit cultural bullshit. Just cats on their hind legs, and people announcing “cat.”
Here is a website where you draw glowing kaleidoscope shapes. I’m not sure if it works on mobile? On desktop it’s really neat.
And here’s Chuck.
Chuck would love you if he met you. Unconditionally. He’s just a sweet little guy who loves everybody he meets and I’m sure you’d be no different. He doesn’t ask anything. (Well, he asks for snacks, but if you don’t have snacks he’ll still love you.) He doesn’t judge or hold grudges. Whoever you are, whatever baggage you carry with you, Chuck would love you.
If you’re having a rough time around Mother’s Day and all the obligations and preconceptions it carries with it, Chuck would love you.
Hi, all! It’s been a good time here-- I’ve seen so many wonderful posts from so many wonderful people, and it’s been a really good place to get to know. I’m hoping, though, that https://www.pillowfort.io/ will end up with many of the great qualities of Tumblr without being owned by a large corporation trying to profit off of our information and screentime. And this morning, Pillowfort opened up to new users.
So, from now on, you can find me at:
https://www.pillowfort.io/Things-That-Are-Great
In an ideal world, I’ll be able to import this Tumblr there wholesale in the future. In the meantime, I’ll be moving over my original posts and favorite reblogs as soon as I can figure out a good way to credit them.
Thank you so much, everyone I’ve interacted with here! It’s been really good, and really necessary during some tough times for me.
