I think some of you forgot that autistic people sometimes act strange and say things that are poorly worded and speak with incorrect tone and misunderstand or miss social cues because they are autistic

Make sure you don't accidentally punish people for communicating their needs and boundaries. When someone cares enough to have the uncomfortable conversation, that's a compliment and a clear sign that they are invested in the relationship. Yes of course it's uncomfortable to hear that something you've been doing has been upsetting someone you care about when that was never your intention, but people generally only bother to have these conversations with the people they want to keep around - the people they trust to care. If they just didn't like you, they'd probably just try to avoid you. So make sure you don't make it into a more punishing experience than it has to be. Try to see the care and the trust behind the criticism, even when it triggers uncomfortable emotions. It's a good sign that they're there telling you.

Reminder to everyone that anon messages asking you to donate to gaza fundraisers are VERY likely scams—especially if they have a chuffed link rather than a gofundme, and if they're bombarding you and others with messages.

Blocking the anons who send these messages doesn't stop you from getting more messages linking you to the same blogs: this is a MAJOR red flag. It means they're using multiple accounts to send anon messages.

Remember that most of the vetting accounts actively ban spamming: even if these accounts say they're vetted, they're either lying or they've broken the terms of the vetting anyway. This also goes for accounts that mention countless blogs in replies under posts asking for donations.

Here is a post detailing what one of the most notorious of these spam accounts is doing.

These scammers are trying to take advantage of your empathy and of an awful situation. Don't reward them with attention or money. Be careful whose fundraisers you donate to, and only donate if you're very confident they're real. If you want to be safe, donate to well-known charities rather than individual families.

Been busy again and mostly forgot about Tumblr. But!! I'm going to be updating a few things on my blogs since I've officially been diagnosed with autism (was diagnosed around the start of this month). I'm also going to be putting things in a queue again!!

I'd also like to remind people since I've noticed now that I'm active on here again: I am personally unable to donate to things!!

Not only am I unable to work due to my disabilities, I am also living in a country that has an ongoing cost of living crisis. Because of this, I am unable to donate a good chunk of the time, especially if any service requires a fee upon donation
