Remus doesn’t remember much about the night that stole his youth away. The night where before he went to bed him, Hope, and Lyall took another ring off the paper chain that signaled days leading down to his fifth birthday. The night he went to bed as a little boy, and woke up as what many would call a monster.
Looking back it all feels like one juvenile scary dream, a nightmare curated from hearing fantasy tales of big bad wolf’s and dark mythical creatures. He can recall big yellow eyes and pain that began in his side then seared throughout his body, but after that the next memory he can recall is waking up to his mother holding his hand, rapidly wiping tears away as if she didn’t want Remus to know she was crying—but Remus always knew. He doesn’t think Lyall had a place in this memory, just Hope and her shaking hands and unsteady smile.
“What’s wrong mum?” he asked when she had calmed a bit.
“Nothing darling, everything will be okay.”Hope had said before Remus let sleep overtake him again.

Regulus used to think of James as this ethereal being, untouched by the cruelty that seeps into Regulus' veins and flows through his heart. Everyone was just surviving while James Potter- he was living. James, with kind eyes that strikingly resembled those of his mothers, who smiles and laughs as effortlessly as he breathes, who is adored by all those that get the extraordinary pleasure of knowing him. James who loves unconditionally and with everything in him, who is immeasurably talented and unbeknownst to most, incredibly brilliant. To hell with the cliches, Regulus can only describe James Potter as the embodiment of the sun. He was perfect and Regulus would have resented him for it if he wasn’t too busy loving him.

Im gonna be so real can yall actually talk about ways we can support trans women in the UK instead of giving all the attention to fucking JKR. I already know that Harry Poter sucks, I wanna know how to actually HELP people. Something something you have to love the oppressed more than you hate the oppressor

During one of Regulus’ sleepless nights spent in the astronomy tour, he was leaning against the railing, fidgeting with the rings on his fingers and gazing at the moon. Contrary to his namesake, Regulus did always prefer the moon over the stars. He thought there was something so alive about it and after learning about the heavy bombardment period in his youth, he admired its resilience. Unlike the early astronomers, he thought all its imperfections were what made it so beautiful—all of its craters were just proof that it had survived.

Remus always has his bedroom window open. He doesn’t even close it when it’s pouring outside — just lets it rain in. Because that’s when the air tastes the very best, he says as a puddle forms on his floor.

Harry & Alphie
Circa 1997
I was often asked which house Alphie ended up being, and here is an official reveal? I guess he got a few things from Regulus, like the generational Slytherin sorting.
I know a looooooot of people have a lot of jumpscares seeing those 2 mini James & Sirius 😭
AU where Regulus’ karma is having a son who happens to be the carbon copy of Sirius.

this is my prongsfoot
prongsfoot who always need to have at least one thing matching before they leave the house. matching rings, matching ties, shoelaces, sometimes sirius would match his belt to the frame color of james’ glasses. of course each has their own personal style and they do not dress the same but they love matching little accessories by accident or intentionally.

Im glad u like my little yap session from last night so lemme add a little more ♡
Basically I think all of the making everyone flat and boring for relatability's sake is VERY linked to tiktok and booktok culture. Its no coincidence that the bland nature of predictable tropes became mainstream in the fandom during covid when all the tiktok girlie joined the fandom. And no hate to them (I joined the same time but not from tik tok, from pinterest I think?) Its just the whole palatable thing again. It's okay that some people ate satisfied with easy to swallow and comprehend literature and characters but like why do those who want to explore deeper and expand the characters get shamed? You try to make regukus complex and evil but also 3d and you get hate. But if u agree to the basic little uwu precious white baby trope where that's his whole character or super alpha mean straight up bully rrmus who hates his friends cux he's sm smarter than them. This shit is SO EASY and I don't understand the idea of denying yourself the ability to see people outside of dilly limiting tropes. Booktok and tropification are a whole different yap session but for now I'll just say that this fandom needs to at least try and see rhe characters as 3d i promise its more fun that way! Also tropes are very aligned with stereotypes and that's problematic when you include so many minorities. Stereotypical ftm, stereotypical mtf, poc girls, poc boys etc.
this is absolutely correct. all of it. every last bit of it.
it's why i get so skeptical when i see stuff like trans/poc headcanons. i love those headcanons but you HAVE to do the research. it has to go deeper than the trans guy not wanting to wear a dress. it has to go deeper than the latino guy saying "mi amor" a few times. if it doesn't, then that's not a trans/poc headcanon. that's a plastic accessory, a caricature of an entire culture of marginalized and oppressed people. and that's not cool to do. and yet it's so normalized.
i just hate the idea that fiction has to be easy and simple and surface level in order for it to not get hate. i don't mind getting hate, they're just wrong, but it's annoying how people have stopped trying to engage with things they disagree with at a glance. especially when it's in favor of takes that are so lukewarm, boring, reductive, and just...plastic. that's not what art is about. art isn't about fitting into perfect little tropes that are so one-dimensional that anybody can fit into any role. art is about human expression, it's about messiness and imperfection, it's about the wonderful phenomenon that is the individuality of human life. i resent incorrect quotes. i resent trope fics. i resent anything that requires cutting a character down into a cookie cutter shape so they can fit into something that's already been done a million times. if you enjoy that stuff, that's fine, but i don't, and i'm sick of it being shoved down my throat as the superior art form when honestly, i would barely even consider it art in the first place.

Sirius and Remus are both so weird. I don't think this is acknowledged enough.
They get their canine weirdness on together.
And I love them for it.
This is Wolfstar.
