SURPRISE!!!

That's right folks! If you've listened to our recent episode, you heard us announce a NEW project coming soon!

Every week we struggle to sum up entire seasons of a different show in such a short amount of time. There's no way we can get through everything! We've talked for a while about the possibility of covering a show we love episode by episode, and we finally found one we simply couldn't resist!

Starting in July, we will be making Totally Normal About That a biweekly affair while we release episodes of our new project, which we will officially announce on July 2nd, with our first episode releasing on Friday, July 4th!

In the meantime, if you have any guesses as to what we might be covering, be sure to share them! If you get it right, we'll be sure to shout you out!

HAPPY PRIDE!!!

We know we've been slowly working on posting about our backlog of episodes, but we have some very exciting events coming up for Pride month that we simply couldn't wait to share!

This month we want to do something special to honor all of the people who have made Pride possible, particular the Trans community.

First, we will be spending this month watching documentaries or movies based on true stories that highlight trans people. To kick this off, we will be watching the 2005 movie version of Kinky Boots!

While this movie is fictional, it's loosely based on a real story, and is a lot of fun to watch! We are particularly excited to discuss one of the leads of the movie, a trans woman named Lola!

We will also be watching and discussing 2017 documentary "The Death and Life of Marsha P Johnson", and the 2020 documentary "Disclosure". If you haven't seen these yet, now is an excellent time to check them out and learn more about trans history!

Finally, we'll be celebrating our 1-year anniversary with a special Pride themed discussion! We'll be talking about sexuality, gender, & the role of trans folks in both Pride & queer media, & we would love to include your feedback on what those things mean to you!

Can people stop using ace as a shorthand to no sex? Ace means little to no sexual attraction but it doesn't necessarily mean no sex. Some ace people have sex (and this encompasses all manners of sex acts), some don't.

I'm tired of seeing people say they want a couple to be ace and what they really mean is nonsexual and not the actual definition of ace.

Heartstopper!

Hi Friends!

In this episode we had a totally normal conversation about Heartstopper seasons 1&2! We had a blast talking about identity realization & coming out. We also talked about ace representation and what we think will be happening with characters like Torie and Isaac in future seasons. We discussed the themes of mental health and bullying, and continued our ongoing conversations about found family, queer community, and queer mentorship.

We love this show and can't wait for more seasons!!

Red, White & Royal Blue - The Movie!

How could we talk about the book and not come back to talk about the movie?

We talked about the creation of this movie and some amazing queer media milestones! We also continued our conversation about tropes, and we dug into the depiction of sex and intimacy in this movie, along with discussions about consent and right to privacy. And yes, we definitely took some time to gush about the polo scene!

Red, White & Royal Blue - The Book

Hi Friends! In this episode we had a totally normal chat about Casey McQuiston's bestseller, Red, White and Royal Blue!

We had quite a discussion about found family, the societal and cultural expectations, power structures, and the bisexual experience. We yelled about countless fiction tropes we love, ranted about real life correlations, and overall had a great time talking about one of our favorite stories!
