     i’ll be around tomorrow, just work is kicking my butt.

               to keep her athletic body, tifa trains daily with one or two rest days in between. her training includes using her punching bag that she brought one day to keep her room somewhat decorated. she makes sure to always have her basic forms down that zangan taught. another big factor in being able to maintain her figure, she also likes to take a protein shake after she finishes training. it’s an important factor in helping rebuild the muscles after a workout.

         tifa was getting ready for the evening of customers, she took a wet rag & started cleaning the bar top. she was used to the late nights, the chatter that went along with alcohol.  looking upwards, she sees jessie approach her with an excited disposition. there was a BURST of energy, she was ready to go off with her birthday celebration. this brings a tender smile to the bartender, a soft watercolor of appreciation for her friend.   ❛ thanks. drinks on me tonight. ❜ she didn’t want anything special, just a nice evening while making memories.

      the next statement takes her off guard, a tilt of her head before reaching for the bag.    ❛ really ? you didn’t have to get anything for me. i would have been good for a girls’ night. ❜ she takes her hand off the wet rag before reaching for the bag on the counter. tifa takes out the first item, surprised by the hand wraps for her boxing bag. her room wasn’t decorated much minus a few items, but one day she’ll find the time to spruce it up more than a few furnishings. cherry eyes WIDEN when she uncovers the materia, the golden orb gleamed under the lighting. the materia was like a CHRYSOBERYL.  ❛ where’d you get this ? ❜

      she couldn’t imagine the LENGTHS that jessie would have gone through to obtain this for her. maybe jessie would tell her the story tonight. her steps quicken, materia still in hand as she goes through the small partition. there were ways to show her APPRECIATION. toned arms quickly pull the other girl into a hug.  ❛ thank you. ❜

     it would always be the simple things that mattered.

          running around has it merits, it was her attempt to build cloud’s reputation within the community. they were rushing into it like electricity powering a circuit. introducing cloud to everyone else like merle to the shop keeper was INTERESTING for the sole fact he wasn’t a people’s person.despite, all of this she can feel the beating sun against her skin. it’s not enough to make her sweat but she’s glad to be under the porch of her bar.   ❛ could use something to take the edge off, right? ❜ she suggests. 

           ❛ how about a nice, refreshing cocktail made by yours truly that you can sit back and savor?❜ tifa’s energy skyrockets trying not to think about the heat or...

    being around him like this brings back memories. they weren’t close when they were younger, not by her account. she thinks of summer nights, running around without a care in the world.  there was something about the summer that brought out the night’s very own lights, the stars. tifa always thought they were a bit brighter during summer. she wonders if they could do it again, find themselves at the highest point just to gaze at the sky. would he leave again ? maybe he’d just follow the money again, it’s still a possibility that he could leave. 

     truth be told, she doesn’t want him to. she’s not sure she could be so forthcoming with that. tifa is not trying to be obvious like when LIGHTNING lights up the sky, anyone can see that for miles. but at this point, she can’t really fake it. there’s a difference when tifa attempts to conceal herself artificially.  ❛ hey... do you think you’ll stick around longer ? ❜ it’s easier to camouflage her wants this way without saying: i want you to stay, don’t leave. tifa wonders if he even remembers their promise. she holds that promise to a high award, nothing could beat it in her eyes. they were kids then but...

                maybe she likes to ROMANTICIZE where he’s at, but she likes to think he’s reachable to some extent. he’s not the CONSTELLATIONS she looks up during a clear sky & he’s not a revered WAR HERO. not yet. maybe that’s why she’s made sure her contact with the shinra corporation is a revolving door. tifa feels like zack & sephiroth have made a more lasting impression on her than the other SOLDIER units she’s come in contact with.  she didn’t hide her DISAPPOINTMENT when she questioned zack about cloud. she might check the papers again. it’s not the most PRESSING issue, she has. tifa’s more worried about the guard that was helping her out. she feels too RECKLESS, perhaps in an effort to show off her independence. fists could make their own time of fury too.               once zack cleared the enemy in front of them, she rushes to the infantry’s man fainted body. ❛ ...he tried to protect me ❜ tifa gazes at the blue-eyed SOLDIER.  ❛ do you think he’ll be fine ? ❜ her sunny demeanor is downcast before she places her hand on top of her cowboy hat. she doesn’t know what kind of injuries he’s sustained. without a second thought, she takes the moment to let the footman’s body lean on hers. tifa wraps one of his arms around her neck.  ❛ let’s head back. what about the town? ❜

        the last thing she wants is a tragedy to befall her home. sometimes she thinks all the boys at her hometown leaving were ants, forming a line to look for some sort of work. tifa doesn’t want it to be empty again, a hollowed out bee’s nest with remains scattered on the ground. this place has become a tourist spot, people coming & going with no business but sights. she makes a note that once this is all over, she’d ask zack about this mystery soldier that protected her.

JESSIE.

THE  SHOW  MUST  ALWAYS  GO  ON  !  but  she  doesn’t say that, only a timid smile. working  in  avalanche  wasn’t  certain, the life living in  any  sector  wasn’t  certain.  jessie  thinks,  people  often  forgot  that.  she does wince  a  bit  at  the  first  aid care, every scratch and  burn making  itself known, suddenly.  “ oh.. I’m  not  reckless. but  you know, you  can’t rely  on luck,  either.  that’s  how  ya  get  killed.  “  eyes  dart to the first  aid,  then  to  tifa.  “  which  reminds me .. sometimes, we travel  through  the sewers when  we  need  to, there’s  a  bunker there and I’ve made, hidden a skeleton key. “

   at  the  thought  of  ,  well,  that, jessie  smiles.  “  I  thought  you’d  never  ask. I’ll have anything  you’ve got.  “  she glances around the room  for  a  quick  second, before leaning a bit  on  the  table. “  I  am glad you’re here.  you know. “  she  begins, resting her cheek on the tops  of her knuckles.  “  I  mean, it’s nice to have another girl here  aside  from  little marlene, I mean in avalanche. I  do  have  my  room mates  but the conversation gets a little boring, if anything, it drives me to do more here. “

         NOTHING IS EVER CERTAIN, LIFE IS A MAZE. sometimes life has a way of throwing a RIGHT hook at anyone. it’s how tifa makes out of it that matters. ❛  true, a friendly reminder that plans are necessary. ❜ she has a BRIEF flashback to when she first met barret, his fiery speech about saving the planet would get anyone riled up. she likes to think, but he does plenty of that for them. he was his own LIMITLESS mako reactor.  ❛ one of these days you’ll have to show me. is the skeleton used for an emergency situation ? ❜ tifa’s intrigued at that thought. 

      ❛ hmm...are you certain? you could tell a lot about someone by the drink they choose. ❜ since owning seventh heaven, she’s picked up on habits by her bar patrons. bars were there own PICK-UP artists, people trying to get lucky, trying to forget, or even have a good time. her smile widens, a stretch of endless plane that makes her feel welcomed.  ❛ me too. ❜ there’s a brief pause as she reaches for her shaker, an empty glass, & ice.  ❛ i take it the conversation is not AVALANCHE worthy.  how’d you meet your roommates ? maybe when we get through a mission, we celebrate here. ❜ an idea, a sense of bringing each other together aside from their cause against shinra.
