No rain. No wind. No clouds. Just the moonlight illuminating the small apartment you shared with your friend Minho. A night that should’ve been peaceful and quiet but your loud screaming abruptly interrupted the peacefulness of the place as it started bouncing from wall to wall through the entire apartment.
“MINHOOOOO”, you yelled, a terrified tone crawling into your voice.
The doors to your room got smashed open and Minho raced into your room, a worried expression forming on his face. “What’s wrong?”
You were curled into a ball in the corner of your room. Glancing for a second at him before bringing your eyes back on the enemy on the other side of the room. You pointed for him to see while yelling, “there’s a nasty ass bug!”
Worry immediately just washed away from his face and some kind of annoyed look sparked in his eyes. “You got me out of my bed for a bug?”
“If it was a small spider I would’ve handled it”, you said, your pride sort of hurt that you actually whined for help like this. “But this one is like super huge.”
“Oh, it’s super huge?” he repeated, a bit of mockery slipping into his voice.
You narrowed your eyes at him. “Can you please get it?” you asked through your teeth while you’d much rather tell him to fuck off but considering you were asking him for a favour that probably wasn’t the best few words to go with.
“Fine.”
He picked a flat notebook from your desk, found the huge ugly asshole on the wall and got rid of him in a matter of seconds. You felt like you could finally breathe normally again when he closed the window and the bug was securely on the other side. You got up, tried to regain the last bit of dignity you had left in you. “Well, uh, thank you.”
“Literally what would you do without me”, he teased while leaving the room.
The door closed. The night could finally be peaceful again. You laid in your bed ready to go to sleep but your mind made you keep glancing at the window. An unsettling feeling was forming somewhere deep down in your body and it was bugging you so much you weren’t able to enjoy such a warm and comfortable night to take the best sleep out of it.
The bug was out. But if it found its way inside once, why can’t it do it again? The last thing you’d want is to be waken up by this bastard crawling down your arm.
After a few more minutes of failing at your mission to fall asleep, you threw a silent tantrum in the bed frustrated that sleep just kept refusing to take you. You got up and made yourself to the room across the hallway. Once the door opened, you saw Minho snuggled up in his bed, looking up from his phone and giving you a confused look.
“Another bug?” he asked, his lips forming into a teasing smile.
“Shut up”, you muttered. “Can I sleep with you?”
He blinked a few times just staring at you. “Are you serious?”
“That thing is out there somewhere and it’s literally not letting me sleep.”
“You usually wanna sleep in my bed only after watching horror movies. This is a new level of being a scared baby even for you.”
Your brows pierced together as you frowned at his response. “I’ll take that as a yes”, you said and already started pulling the sheets and making yourself comfortable by his side.
“It’s always a yes and you know that”, he smiled softly before the smile turned into something a bit more devilish. “I like having you this close.”
You felt your cheeks heating up for a second. “You’re annoying”, was the only thing you said while twisting to the other side so you’d turn him your back. But you could hear his soft laugh and the warmth of his closeness. It was nice and comforting. And it lead you to the land of dreams in only a few seconds.

park seonghwa . . . night time rides : part II

part i.
genre: Seonghwa x female!reader, a bit of San x reader as well, college au, roommate au
description: You always loved taking late night car rides with your friends. But before you know it, they turned into sessions of you whining and them enjoying the drama and trying to offer advice how to win over one of your roommate’s closest friends you were crushing on like an idiot.
word count: 2.3 k
warnings: swearing, mentions of drinking
. . . . .
“Holy shit”, Zia said, still processing the story of you ending up kissing San. “When I said don’t bother us until there’s kissing involved, this wasn’t what I meant.”
“At least you got some action after a while”, Luca commented looking over his nails.
“LUCA”, Zia snapped at him.
“I screwed up, didn’t I?”
“You did”, Luca answered immediately, “but don’t worry. I think it shouldn’t be a problem that’s impossible to fix.”
You muttered something not sure whether to agree or not. The car was gliding through the rain, your hands gripping the wheel as if your life depended on it.
“Did you try talking to him?” Zia asked.
“Kinda. I tried making some kind of eye contact or something first but he was completely ignoring me the entire night.”
“Well look on the bright side”, Luca started again and both you and Zia braced yourselves for something stupid, “at least you know he likes you enough to act so hurt over it.”
“I don’t know, dude”, you said unsure of what to actually think.
“We’ll think of something.”
Your mind wandered away leaving Zia and Luca chattering behind as a simple background noise. You thought about the kiss. If it were different circumstances you wouldn’t have anything against it. If he weren’t Seonghwa’s friend and if Seonghwa hasn’t seen you in the middle of the act, maybe you could’ve kept it as a positive memory. Cause after all it was a good kiss. But a kiss that lead you into an uncomfortable situation that you didn’t know how to get out of. You had to talk to San. You had to somehow talk to Seonghwa as well. But you had no idea how to do that. Or what to say.
A few days later you were lying on your bed while Zia was sitting next to you and searching for something on her phone.
“Did you smooth things out with San?” she asked, breaking the silence.
“I guess”, you said, the memory of the talk you had with him the other day coming back. “When I approached him to talk, he spoke before I even managed to grab a hold of my own thoughts. He apologized for invading my space like that and going over the line. Something about being drunk.”
“And?” Zia raised an eyebrow as she looked at you.
“And he said he hopes things won’t be awkward from now on and that we could just stay friends.”
“Well lucky you. You didn’t even have to do any talking.”
Despite things with San going back to normal, it didn’t make you feel like you could relax again. You still felt tense. As if there’s a tight knot that formed in your stomach and simply isn’t letting go. It might’ve been that simple with San, but you felt as if it wouldn’t be the same when it comes to Seonghwa. The first step would have to be to even get him in private for a bit but that seems impossible considering he came over to your place only once after that and completely ignored you every time you’d be close. He was here tonight but you simply didn’t feel like doing anything if he’s gonna be giving you an icy glare the entire time. And even if you did manage to get some alone time – what would you even say? I’m sorry. You technically didn’t do anything wrong. You two aren’t in a relationship or in the process of going on dates. You just had a weird moment in the elevator when you got closer than you should have. Yet you still feel like you fucked up in a way an apology is needed.
You let out the deepest sigh of frustration making Zia pat your back slightly. “It’s gonna be fine. Trust me.” And unlike usually, her voice sounded warm and reassuring.
You stayed in your positions for a little while longer. Zia trying to start a conversation over a movie both of you recently saw to try and make your thoughts shift somewhere else. But soon enough she got up and took her stuff, ready to go home.
“Want me to drive you?” you asked noticing rain has started falling outside.
“That would actually be lovely, thank you”, she smiled happily.
You were too lazy to put on any proper pants so you just stayed in shorts and put on the biggest hoodie you could find that was clean over it. Grabbed your keys and you were on your way.
“Joong, I’m driving Zia home. I’ll be back in a bit”, you announced to the living room where he was seated with Seonghwa who yet again didn’t bother to give you even a glance.
You even grabbed the door knob when suddenly Hongjoong yelled, “How convenient! Do you think you could give Seonghwa a ride as well?”
You felt as if someone kicked you in the throat with all their might. “Why don’t you drive him? He’s your friend”, you replied sounding meaner than you’d want.
“My car’s being repaired.”
“I’ll go home with the bus. It’s not that big of a deal”, Seonghwa got into the conversation, a forced smile on his face.
“Don’t be absurd”, Hongjoong waved his hand. “It’s a disaster outside thanks to the rain. Besides you and Zia even live in the same neighbourhood. It shouldn’t be a problem for you, right y/n?”
“It’s no problem at all”, Zia answered quickly instead. “The more, the merrier.”
“See?” Hongjoong added looking at his friend.
Neither you nor Seonghwa looked happy with the situation. But neither of you had a proper argument as to why this was an idea you two didn’t like. So minutes later, the three of you were in the car. Zia even letting him sit in the front besides you which Luca never had the luxury to experience. The car was uncomfortably silent. Even the heavy rain hitting the car didn’t help it to feel any less heavy.
Zia didn’t seem all that bothered as she was killing time on the phone. Probably not sure herself what to say in this situation or how to start a conversation that wouldn’t immediately be shut down. She was the first one to leave the car. Her little goodbye broke the silence before it wrapped the entire car yet again.
You were slowly driving through the streets. One reason being the rain was getting insane. And another the fact you wanted to buy more time with him since you actually did get what you were trying to achieve. But a new problem rose as you had no clue what to say.
“So what’s up with you and San? That was kind of random, don’t you think?” he said and you felt your heart jump to your throat.
He started the talk. Now it was just your job to choose the right words.
“Nothing’s up. He just kissed me for a moment that’s it.”
“He kissed you?”
“Why are you making that question sound like I’m the one going around constantly kissing people?” you asked slightly angry.
“I was just curious.”
“Why don’t you ask him about it? He’s your friend, isn’t he?”
“I did”, he said completely silently that you weren’t sure if your ears are maybe deceiving you. He didn’t say anything after that and the atmosphere just became unbearable.
“It didn’t mean anything”, you added quietly after a while.
“You could’ve pushed him away.”
You weren’t sure where this was going but for some reason you felt like the route it took was straight towards shit and it was urgently needed for the conversation to take a different one.
“Why are you even so concerned over who I kiss?” you asked knowing it was a question that could corner him into finally admitting his feelings or a question that could throw anything between you two over a cliff. You held the wheel tighter while beads of sweat started forming on your forehead. This was it. You could simply wait in suspense which route he chooses to go.
“I thought you wanted to kiss me”, he said, his voice raised making it sound like he was saying something that was completely obvious.
You accidentally made a turn too sharp as surprise hit you over the face like a slap.
“Well, uh… That depends.”
“What?” he asked confused. “Depends on what?”
“Did you want to kiss me?”
He pushed his body back into his seat. “I mean this in the nicest way possible but you’re an idiot.”
And just as he said that you stopped on the small parking lot that was covered with a roof right across his building, rain finally stopping to pour over the car. Silence now became deafening as both of you just sat there for a few moments not saying anything.
You turned your head to face him. “I’m –“
But before you managed to say anything further you felt his warm hand cup your cheek and before you even realized his lips touched yours. Your body automatically reacted, leaning closer to him, cursing the entire gear area that was leaving you apart. His lips felt soft. His kisses gentle and sweet just like him. You felt the knot in your stomach finally untie. An explosion of euphoria crossed in your head. This was it. This was the kiss you were hoping for and imagining all this time.
After a short while he broke the kiss. “This isn’t working”, he said shortly and exited the car. You were in the happiest place just a moment ago, but the picture felt like it shattered into a million pieces while his words lingered in your mind.
Did you do something wrong? What’s not working? You followed him with your eyes as he was circling around the car. You thought he was about to leave but instead he opened your door and softly grabbed your hand into his and pulled you out.
“I thought you were gonna leave”, you said while feeling like you’re about to cry.
“I’m sorry”, he smiled gently. The moment you were on your feet, he put his hands on your hips, pulling you closer into him. “I probably should’ve worded that better.”
His lips crashed against yours once again but this time it wasn’t just a soft kiss that had a barrier stopping it. This one felt passionate. His tongue touched your lips for a second before it collided with your own. His hands were hugging your entire body pulling you as close as possible as if he was afraid you would slip away. Your own hands thrown around his neck, one tangled in his soft hair.
You felt like you could’ve stayed like that forever. Just kissing him under a small roof as rain went crazy around you. It felt perfect. It felt like more than you ever expected.
Time was at that moment irrelevant and it was hard to say how many minutes passed once you finally pulled away from each other, gasping for some air. His hands still softly laid on your hips, his hooded eyes looking into your own.
“Would you like to come over for a bit?” he asked cautiously as if being afraid he might be too direct.
A bright smile formed on your lips. “Sounds better than being cold here.”
Despite his building being just across the street, the rain was falling so heavily both of you got wet. His apartment was small but cute. A smell you couldn’t quite identify was spreading through the air. It was a nice smell. Somehow made the apartment feel even cozier. He disappeared into his room for a moment leaving you in the living room.
“Here”, he said once he snuck back. He threw a clean shirt towards you and turned around.
You looked at him for a second before taking off your wet hoodie and putting on his dry shirt. The shirt also had that sweet and warm smell.
“You can turn around now.”
“You look cute in that”, he said the moment he turned around and not subtly at all checked you out.
Both of you made yourselves comfortable in the small sofa. Not really doing much. Just talking. Enjoying each other’s company. At one point his hand slowly wandered to your thigh. His hand warm against you naked skin. For once you were grateful for your laziness and the fact it got you to stay in shorts. But that simple touch was enough to push the conversation into a completely different direction. Which is a dead end. Cause there was no conversation.
Your hand reached for his cheek pulling it gently towards you. You almost shyly brushed your lips against his before he leaned forward and took you into another hungry kiss. His lips each time felt more like they were a perfect puzzle part to your own. Each time it felt more and more perfect.
His hand was still on your thigh, suddenly gripping your leg and pulling it over his body, making you gracefully land it his lap. You felt his warm hands on your legs, sometimes his long fingers wandering a bit under your shorts. He was kissing your lips, your neck. Every touch, every kiss he laid on you felt like it was filled with passion and fire. One of your hands got behind his head, pulling him closer into you. Closer into another kiss. The other one sneakily got under his shirt and you could feel his shoulder muscles flexing.
You pulled away for a moment. Both of you silently panting. Your head swinged forward and your forehead softly leaned on his making his lips widen into one of his most beautiful smiles.
There would be a lot to tell Zia and Luca the next time you get in the car. But for now they weren’t important. You got what you wanted. You got a perfect moment. You got the man you liked. And nothing ever felt as good as being able to give and take countless more kisses.
end.

park seonghwa . . . night time rides : part I

. . . . .
Night time rides were something else. Driving around through the dark streets with all the lights flickering around and throwing their warm colours onto their surroundings felt peaceful. It felt like wandering into a different dimension. Where time stops. Where things almost always feel weirdly nostalgic.
Night time rides usually feel like an escape from reality. Yet this time you were in the car not just to escape it but to reach a solution for a problem that has occurred in it.
“Sup, bitch”, your friend Luca greeted as he entered the car and made himself comfortable in the back seat since your other friend Zia already occupied the front spot.
“We have an issue”, you said the second he closed the car and started slowly drifting down the street.
“Obviously”, he commented. “If you pick us up just to drive around with you and maybe stop in a drive-thru in the middle of the night, it always means there’s an issue.”
“Did you embarrass yourself in front of the building receptionist again?” Zia asked half interested half just mindlessly staring outside.
“What? No!”
“Did Hongjoong mess up the laundry and you don’t know how to tell him it’s just not good?”
“No.”
“Did you overcook pasta?”
“What kind of problem even--No! Just listen!” They finally got silent. “It’s about Seonghwa”, you finally managed to say.
Zia immediately seemed a lot more interested in the whole conversation. “Oh! That dude you like?”
“Fuck yes! Tea time”, Luca exclaimed. “I want every last detail.”
. . . . .
earlier that night
It was quite late when you finally made it home. Thanks to a professor being sick you had to have an extra lecture to catch up on the whole curriculum and apparently there were no free classrooms except on a Friday evening. It wasn’t that exhausting if you were being honest but just very boring. And it felt like a waste of time that you could’ve spent doing something fun.
You opened the door to the apartment you shared with your friend Hongjoong hoping to finally get some peace and quiet, maybe watch a movie or something, just to have your dreams immediately crushed as you saw eight men hoarding the small living room.
“y/n, you’re back!” Hongjoong yelled excitedly.
All heads turned around to see you and a loud cheer of greetings filled the room as everyone tried to say hi at the same time.
“Fuck, I didn’t know you’d be having friends over”, you said to him, a subtle whine crawling inside of your voice.
“It was a spontaneous decision.”
“Right.”
“Wanna join?” Wooyoung asked cheerfully. “There’s plenty of drinks left.”
You stood in your spot for a second just sort of squinting at all of them as your brain was going through a bunch of thought processing. You weren’t too tired and despite hoping to have a chill night, some socialising didn’t seem too repulsive to you at that moment either. And you even knew all of the guys already since Hongjoong would often invite them over so extra energy for meeting new people wasn’t exactly required.
“Sure, why not?” you said as you threw your hands giving in to the temptation.
All of them seemed to be very satisfied with your decision as another loud cheer broke out through the room. You grabbed a beer from the kitchen and thanks to Yunho being a sweetheart and moving from the couch onto the floor, you got a decent spot as well.
“So what have you lads been up to?” you asked and took a few sips of your beer tho you weren’t sure if anyone heard you cause the conversation they were having was getting quite intense.
“We’re discussing if ninjas or pirates are better”, Yunho answered making you laugh for a second.
“And it’s getting this serious?” you asked, a huge grin on your face.
“y/n, can you pick a side?” San suddenly yelled. “We’re currently divided in half.”
“Obviously pirates”, you answered without taking another second to even think about it and it made half of the room dramatically gasp. “They literally have ships and cannons. The fuck do ninjas have?”
“Thank you. That’s exactly what I also said”, another voice got involved.
Your eyes automatically turned towards the owner of the voice and they were met with Seonghwa’s. It wasn’t the first time you noticed him that night, but it was the first time an interaction happened between you two and as always your heart decided to skip a beat or two as it always does when Seonghwa gives you only a small fraction of his attention. That’s all that was needed with him.
“Ninjas can be invisible”, Jongho protested through a pout snapping you back to reality.
“I thought this was based on logic”, Yeosang attacked his statement.
And the discussion kept going on. And on. It lasted way longer than you expected. Mingi got super heated at one point and was told to have a time out on the balcony which he barely accepted and was sulking like a small child the whole time. You lost them at the point when they were getting way too detailed about sword fighting - your thoughts just wandering around.
Soon enough your bottle of beer was empty and if you wanted to stay any longer you needed some more alcohol in your blood to endure the amount of bullshit that was being said. The kitchen felt so peaceful, contrasting heavily the mess happening on the other side of the wall. But you couldn’t decide if it was good or bad kind of peaceful.
“Hey”, a sudden voice crept on you out of nowhere making you jump in your spot and yank the fridge door so hard it almost resulted in some glass bottles stashed there breaking.
“Sorry, didn’t want to scare you.”
You turned around and was found face to face with Seonghwa who had a huge dumb smile on his face obviously very amused with how scared he got you and not really all that sorry.
“Do you like levitate an inch from the floor? How are you so quiet?”
He lightly laughed and made his way closer to the fridge and where you were standing.
“What do you want?” you asked opening the fridge again.
He got so close that his chest brushed slightly against your shoulder making you almost twitch at the contact. “I thought it was obvious”, he said with a tone that almost sounded playful but you weren’t sure if it’s just your ears making a fool of you. Still, it made your head suddenly shift towards him. He was standing so close that you could almost feel his body warmth just radiating out of him. Or maybe it was just your body getting hot cause he was. right. there. He never stepped inside of your personal space this much before and you weren’t sure how to react.
“So uh?”, you stuttered for a second. “Another beer?”
He stared at you for a second longer, an expression you couldn’t possibly read, before his lips stretched into a half smile and he moved a few steps back.
“Yes”, he said, this time way quieter. “Another beer.”
. . . . .
“Girl”, Luca yelled once you were done with the whole story of that night. “That’s why you got us out of our beds?”
“You’re driving after drinking?” Zia seemed to be concerned with different problems.
“Yes! That’s why I got you out”, you said as if it was the most obvious thing. “Like I’m so confused. What the hell was that?”
“He was drunk and stood a bit too close to you”, Zia said unamused. “I don’t wanna shit on your party, but I don’t think there’s much to it.”
“But you didn’t feel the tension at that moment.”
“You know I usually believe in vibes and stuff but I’ll have to agree with Zia on this one”, Luca added his own piece of mind. “Do we even know if he’s single or not?”
“We do. I asked Hongjoong once”, you answered through your teeth.
“Oh, so he knows you’re crushing like an idiot on one of his closest friends?” Zia said, sounding very amused.
“I mean, not really. I hope not. I once asked him if any of them are dating to which he got very suspicious asking me which one of them do I like.”
“Smart man”, Zia commented.
“What did you say to that?”
“I said don’t be an idiot, I’m just curious.”
“Can’t believe that passed”, Zia threw another comment.
“Anyway, I think you owe us some fried chicken as a sorry for getting us out at this time of the night”, Luca exclaimed. And that was the last of it.
At least for that night.
Around a week later the gang was back in the car as you said you wanted a chat and a late-night smoothie.
“So anyway”, you started casually trying to start the next topic as smoothly as you were sliding into the next turn. “Remember when we talked about Seonghwa last week?”
“Oh, so that’s why you called”, Zia said flatly.
“It better be good this time”, Luca muttered as he already gave you his whole attention. “I’m all ears, darling.”
. . . . .
the night before
You groaned in frustration as you were trying to figure out a part of the lecture that just wasn’t clicking. After staring at the text for a little longer you finally decided to take a proper break and go feed yourself hoping that would get you some energy that you were seriously lacking. You had to make your way through the living room to reach the kitchen where Hongjoong was hanging out with Seonghwa and Yeosang - drinking beer and just very loudly playing some video games. They didn’t really pay much attention to you as they were too immersed in the game and in a way you were thankful cause you weren’t exactly in your best looking addition.
You grabbed some cereal and soon enough you were seated over the textbook again. Cereal managed to give you enough strength for approximately half an hour before you completely gave up and got out of the room again.
“Yo, Hongjoong, did you see my cigarettes?” you yelled to the couch.
His face didn’t shift an inch but a long mmmmmm got out of his mouth making you know he at least heard the question but whether or not he registered its meaning was a whole other story.
“I think you left them on the balcony.”
You got on the balcony, leaving the loud crashes coming from the tv and excited yelling from the three guys in front of it behind you. Just as he said, the little pack of cancer sticks really was on the table. You always told yourself how you should probably quit it but in moments like these when you were feeling frustrated and rather stressed they offered a sort of comfort. Unhealthy yes. But that would be a future you problem.
The night was chilly but still relaxing. The cold even managed to put your mind a bit more at ease as you just sat there and stared into the tiny street lights scrambled all over the place.
“Hey”, a voice suddenly called and of course, who else could it be, then Seonghwa himself.
You greeted him back and watched as he wobbled to the chair next to you.
“You okay?” you asked through an amused smile.
“Might have drank one beer too many”, he admitted through an almost shy smile that immediately melted your entire heart.
You patted his shoulder. “It happens to the best of us.”
“So what are you doing here? Just chilling?”
You made a short break as you pulled a final smoke and put out the cigarette in a small ashtray on the table next to you.
“Giving my soul a rest for a bit I guess.”
You switched your attention from the ashtray to him. He was silent for a few seconds and you just sat there in dark and silence feeling like you could almost hear your heart beating in your chest. He was sitting quite comfortably, his right hand even laying lazily on the back of your chair, while his eyes sparkled in the night and glanced at you every now and then.
“Aren’t you cold?” he asked, finally breaking the silence.
“I feel like I should ask you that question”, you smiled and motioned over his short sleeved black shirt while you were snuggled up in a hoodie.
You heard him lightly laugh. “I’m fine.”
“Seriously?” you asked surprised, your energy suddenly raising, even jumping slightly in your seat. “But it’s like really cold.”
He suddenly got fired up just like you. “So you are cold!”
You stared blankly at him for a moment almost confused as to what he was trying to achieve before bursting into laughter. “Of course I am. How are you not cold?”
“Why don’t you go inside?”
“Who’s gonna keep your drunk ass company if I go?” you teased, not really sure where the confidence came from.
A soft smile formed on his lips but before he said anything, you grabbed your cigarette pack. “I’m kidding. I just wanna smoke one more”, you added.
“Want me to try and make you warmer?”
You snorted not really expecting much logic from a drunk person. “Sure, mate. If you can do it, that would be wonderful”, and just as you were putting a cigarette between your lips you felt an arm wrapping around your back and for a moment you didn’t feel cold as hotness rushed through your body and straight into your cheeks.
Your first reaction was to just shoot your head towards him and meet his face much closer to yours this time. You felt like time stopped for a second and as if you were the main role in a dramatic romance scene. You were glad it was dark cause you were sure as hell you looked like a tomato at that moment and you were just praying that your heart wasn’t pounding intensely enough to vibrate through your entire body.
“Did it work?” he asked and you would’ve sworn his lips stretched into more of a flirty smile.
“M-more or less”, you barely pushed the words out, the cigarette almost falling out of your mouth.
You tried to get a grip so you turned and finally light up the cigarette but you still felt like your heart’s gonna jump out especially when he lightly pulled you even closer into himself and rubbed your arm as people usually do when they’re cold.
“Very helpful, thanks”, you said trying to sound sarcastic and play it cool and not let him know that you were literally having a mental breakdown.
You wanted the cigarette to last an hour. Two hours. An eternity. You were warm and comfortable in Seonghwa’s arms and despite a simple arm making your entire mind malfunction, you wanted to stay like that as long as possible. But darn cigarettes don’t be lasting longer than a few minutes and you didn’t feel like being too obvious if you stay there for too long.
Once the cigarette burned out, you stood up, gave him another friendly pat on the shoulder. “Don’t freeze out here, idiot”, you smiled and left.
. . . . .
“You left?” Luca screamed at you once the story came to an end. “Girl, that was such a good opportunity!”
“I panicked. I thought I’d come off as too direct if I stayed.”
Luca opened his mouth to say something but words didn’t come out while Zia just very loudly slapped her forehead in slight frustration.
“How do you intend on getting anywhere if you constantly keep your distance?” she asked you.
“Well…” you tried to think of something smart but no thoughts were formed that would either be logical or satisfy Zia.
“Also why is he low key creepy when he’s drunk?” Luca interrupted.
“Because the author can’t write guys flirting if her life depended on it.”
“What?” he asked confused.
“What?” you glanced at him.
“You just said-“
“Forget it”, you made a dramatic sigh. “I don’t need you guys to tell me I’m a wreck every time I have any kind of interaction with him. I’m aware of that myself. I need advice. That’s why we’re in the car.”
“The therapy patrol”, Zia joked.
“Vroom vroom advice van”, Luca laughed.
“I’ll drop you both in the middle of the street.”
“Okay, fuck, relax.”
“I think if you had tried something, it would’ve been just fine”, Zia said looking like she’s finally trying to think of a proper piece of advice she could offer. “Just stop thinking so much about it.”
You furrowed your eyebrows. “Mhm. I’ll try I guess.”
The Seonghwa conversation was done for that night. But it wasn’t long until it got brought up again a few nights later. You had a few days to think about what to do. To try and give yourself a pep talk to be more confident the next time you get any kind of chance with Seonghwa. So when you picked them both up after midnight – all three of you already in pyjamas – it was time for updates.
“I know it’s late. But I felt like my mind would explode if I didn’t share this as soon as possible.”
“It better be fucking good”, Zia complained while still blinking trying to push the sleep away.
. . . . .
earlier that night
It was once again a chilly night. Not too cold but you could still feel some icy feeling crawling under your skin. You still couldn’t believe you got yourself in the situation you were in. You just wanted to go to the nearest supermarket to grab some cigarettes but the trip you expected to go on alone turned out to be with Seonghwa. The moment you announced to the living room full of children in men’s bodies that you’re going, Hongjoong jumped to his feet and asked if you could buy some stuff they needed. You complained it was too much too carry. He exposed you of just being lazy to carry stuff. You said that’s stupid. And Seonghwa offered to go with you. And you definitely couldn’t complaint about that.
The two of you made some small chat over college. You complained about exams and all the deadlines and crap you had going on the last few weeks. The frustration over college managed to shift your thoughts a bit away from all the screaming your body was doing because of the situation it was put in. It made your heart stop beating like a maniac for a second.
His company felt comfortable. As if you were at home, wrapped in a warm blanket. It was easy to talk to him. Words just flowing naturally between you two. A few laughs bursting out here and there. He was always so sweet and gentle. And it made you fall for him more and more each time. You felt like you could rely on him. Even now. While balancing on a thin line between an acquaintance, just a person you knew through your roommate, and a friend. You weren’t quite sure what to call him. But whatever it was right now, you were greedy for more. You wanted more of him for yourself.
The shopping was done in a few minutes. He grabbed a bottle of whiskey and some snacks to have another fun night with the boys and you acquired your cancer sticks. You lit one as you were walking down the street back to the apartment.
“How come you smoke?” he asked you.
For a second a wave of embarrassment washed over you. You never thought about the possibility of him not liking that and finding it as a huge turn off. But in his voice there was more curiosity than judgment like you expected.
“I only smoke during exams”, you said, feeling as if you came off way more defensive than you’d wanted. “They help a bit with all the stress.”
“I get that.”
“If you mind the smoke, I can throw it away.”
“Don’t worry about it. Half the people around me smoke as well.”
You glanced at him for a second, an eyebrow slightly raised. “Did you ever smoke?”
His lips formed into an almost awkward smile. “I did for a bit.”
“So what’s the secret of quitting?” you asked as you nudged his hand with your elbow.
“I liked a girl who hated smokers so I quit. And it kind of stayed like that even after nothing happened with her.”
You nodded your head as a short response while your mind was just thinking about way too much. “I don’t think that would be helpful for me but we’ll see. At least exams are almost over.”
You felt like you could’ve dropped in a little hint that you might’ve liked him. Zia and Luca would be proud to hear that you finally did something to push this into some kind of direction. Yet you did nothing.
You got to the building. For some reason you usually kept quiet inside. The echo and the thin walls made you feel as if the entire building is listening to your conversations so you preferred to keep it to yourself. Seonghwa didn’t seem to mind the silence. It surrounded you most of the time as you waited for the elevator and the first few seconds as you were in it. But suddenly your heart started racing again like a super car as Seonghwa leaned on the handle that went around the entire inside of the little elevator cabinet, his hand gripping the handle behind your back slightly brushing against your clothes.
He was close. Again. And you didn’t know what to do with yourself.
“This might sound odd – but do I ever make you feel uncomfortable?” he suddenly asked. His hand moving from its spot but he still remained really close to you.
“What? Why would you get that idea?” you asked genuinely surprised with the question.
“I don’t know. You always seem kind of nervous when we talk. You’re not like that when you’re with the other guys.”
Oh. Oh. He noticed that. Does he pay that much attention to you?
You shifted your body a bit facing him now completely. “You’re the sweetest soul I know. I could never feel uncomfortable”, you said, a comforting smile forming on your lips.
He immediately responded with a smile as well. A smile as sweet as the best candy out there. “Thanks”, he said through a soft laugh.
The same silence wrapped around you two again. It felt as if it was pushing the two of you together. As if the space between your bodies grew smaller. You looked him into his dark warm eyes. You were glad there was a handle you could hold on to cause you felt as if your legs were turning to jelly. His gaze shortly fell away from your eyes before he made contact again and you would’ve sworn he looked at your lips. Only a few inches were separating you that you could almost feel his breath on your cheeks. Yet a few inches that felt like an entire ocean just shutting down closer. And closer.
And then the door opened and you were violently thrown back into reality. Both of you awkwardly shifted in your spots and exited the elevator. Some random chatter was thrown around again until you entered the apartment and your paths split.
. . . . .
“That’s it?!” Zia exclaimed. Now fully woken up.
“Why didn’t you stay with them? Things were obviously going in the right direction”, Luca asked, his cheeks red as he was obviously agitated.
“It was a boys night. I don’t wanna intrude that as a female.”
“You’re a dumbass”, Zia said slowly.
You purposely slammed the brakes a bit too harshly, making both of them get yanked forward. “What was I supposed to do?”
“I don’t know, how about KISS HIM”, Zia yelled back at you.
“There wasn’t a good situation.”
“If you had the balls you would’ve stopped him before he entered the apartment. From your story he was obviously into it.”
“Well we all know that I don’t have balls”, you said a bit too confidently.
Luca laughed for a second. “At least we all agree on one thing.”
“I swear to god, if there is no kissing action the next time you get us in this goddamn car, I’m rioting.”
“Fine.”
You took her words seriously. So despite wanting to go on another ride here and there, there weren’t any juicy updates that could satisfy their thirst for the drama in your life.
But it also wasn’t long until all three of you were seated in your usual spots again. You hoped but something in you also expected there could be some actual kissing finally involved soon. It was a rainy night. Luca was swearing something under his breath as he entered the car.
“There’s a situation”, you said almost nervously as you slowly made your way down the street.
There was a suspicious eyebrow raise that came from Zia while Luca excitedly clapped his hands. “Spill the tea, sis.”
. . . . .
the night before
It was another normal night. Miraculously you didn’t have anything to study but you didn’t feel like leaving your room either. You were perfectly fine with your blanket and laptop just chilling over some YouTube. Hongjoong had some of the guys over again. They weren’t making too much noise so you suspected they were probably watching a movie. You didn’t crawl out of you lair the entire night until Hongjoong knocked on your door and told you there’s some leftover pizza if you’re interested.
Wooyoung was almost shocked when he saw you walking towards the kitchen. “Yo, y/n! I didn’t even know you were home. You could’ve come and say hi.”
You waved your hand towards him as if trying to say hi and disappeared in the kitchen. There was a solid amount left but you weren’t in a mood for more than one slice. You sat on the counter next to the pizza box and began your feast. It would’ve been a wonderful moment shared between just you and your perfect slice of pepperoni pizza but San decided to insert himself into that peaceful moment.
A devilish smile formed on his lips. You never knew what that guy had on his mind. He was always radiating with confidence and something about him always seemed attractive and almost slightly dangerous. He often flirted with you when he’d have a chance but as the guys would say, he flirts with pretty much anyone, so you didn’t think much of it.
“How come a lady like you is stuck eating pizza all alone on a counter?” he asked, a spark in his eyes as he watched you.
“This lady was too lazy for a plate to take the pizza to her room”, you answered with your face stuffed.
You gulped down that last bite and reached for a napkin to wipe off any potential pizza grease left. You followed San with your gaze but gave him only half of your brain to think about him casually throwing away a can of beer before he suddenly walked towards you. You were sitting on the counter with your legs spread out which left a lot of space into which San just walked into, the next second being only a few inches away from you making you lean back in surprise.
“I’m sorry. I just wanted to grab a shot glass”, he said apologetically as he opened the cabinet over your head and took out a small glass.
You expected that would be the end of it. He would get out of your personal little bubble and you wouldn’t have an entire body between your legs anymore. But he stayed there a second too long. That intense gaze of his staring at you.
“You don’t seem to be that sorry”, you joked once you noticed his lips curled up into a smile.
“You got me”, he laughed and paused for a second before he continued. “How could I be sorry to stand so close to someone so pretty.”
There he was again with the blatant flirts. It wasn’t anything new. Yet it felt completely different. You never had that feeling of something cooking in your gut before. That feeling that would then just spread over your body as a wave of heat.
You felt like you should’ve pushed him and just go before things get out of control. But your body wasn’t listening. You couldn’t make yourself do it. You weren’t sure if he moved forward but the gap between you felt smaller. His hands laying on both sides of your body on the counter.
And then it happened. You felt his soft lips touch yours. It lasted just a second before he moved back a bit, his eyes fixated on your own again. It was as if he was checking your reaction. If you wanted to move, now was the moment. Things already went into a direction you never wanted. You could’ve prevented it if you just got up in time yet you were still there. Still not moving.
His lips crashed against yours again. You didn’t even realize that you closed your eyes and responded back with the kiss until you felt his lips stretching into a slight smile. His hands wandered off the counter and around your waist pulling you closer into himself while your own hands found their way into his hair. You didn’t even think about what was happening. Your head went completely blank. You just knew you enjoyed it.
The kiss finally broke off and the two of you parted away gasping for air once the kitchen door was suddenly opened again. Your hands slid out of San’s hair and onto his chest pushing him slightly away to see who has intruded. Perhaps if anyone else but Seonghwa stood there the situation would’ve ended up differently. Maybe if it was Hongjoong you would’ve just went back to mindlessly kissing San. But it was Seonghwa. With an expression you never saw on his face before and that you couldn’t possibly read. One thing you knew for sure, it wasn’t an expression showing a positive emotion.
“Tell me when you two lovebirds are done so I can get myself a beer”, he said flatly and slammed the door behind him.
You could see San’s eyebrows slightly furrow as he eyed the door but before you let him do anything else, you pushed him gently away and jumped off the counter as you continuously mouthed shit under your breath. You didn’t give him a chance to say anything and you didn’t say anything. You just vanished towards your room. A million thoughts exploding in your mind. Anger filling your stomach. Anger at yourself at being a complete fucking idiot and letting yourself get into this situation.

5. “this is the opposite of what i told you to do.”
. . . . .
You were standing next to Wonwoo who was seated at the big table – a small colourful cake in front of him. You did your best to make it for him for his birthday and just surprised him with it but the reaction you got from him wasn’t exactly what you wanted.
“You don’t look amused. Why?” you asked with a sort of sassiness in your voice as you looked once again at the half awkward smile lingering in the corner of his lips.
“Is this supposed to be a joke?” he asked while laughing slightly.
Your face instantly dropped into a pout. “What do you mean?”
He glanced at the cake once again. “This is the opposite of what I told you to do. I asked you not to make me cake.”
“You literally said just make me cake”, you protested.
“I said don’t. Cause I’m supposed to be on a diet before the concert.”
You fell silent for a second and leaned with one hand on a chair while slightly raising your eyebrows trying to act relaxed. “Okay, yes. Maybe you did say that”, you answered while your brain was about to pull a muscle trying to remember his exact words but also realizing it would actually make sense. “Perhaps my brain just decided to remove not cause literally everyone wants cake.”
His lips stretched into a wide smile and his arm grabbed softly your forearm before pulling you into his lap.
“It’s very cute tho”, he said and picked a bit of cream from the corner with his finger.
“And made with lots of love”, you added while acting all cocky over your little creation.
“I bet it was.”
You turned your head so you could face him and see his wide smile that always melts your heart. He gave you a very loving kiss on the cheek which made your slight disappointment over the situation almost completely wash away.
“At least give it a taste”, you said, the best puppy eyes you had going on to soften his heart.
“Fine. Just for you.”

29. “how much money would you give me to flip this table, right here, right now, in the middle of class?”
. . . . .
“You look like shit”, you commented as you stood in front of Mingi laying half dead across one of the many tables in the lecture room. He looked like he had barely any strength left and the bits he did he was persistently trying to put into some writing.
His lips formed into a small pout. “That’s mean.”
“Are you okay?” you asked without reacting to his little sulky comment.
“Why you ask?”
“You’re literally trying to write with a spoon.”
He looked down at his hand gripping the spoon for dear life for just a second before his eyes shifted at you once again. “That’s intentional.”
“Oh.” Your lips formed into a devilish smile. “Is the pen in your coffee cup also intentional?”
Another short moment of silence as he glances at the filled coffee cup in the corner of the table. “Can you just chill with the observant skills for a second?”
You softly laughed before finally making your way to your seat next to him. You pulled out your notebook and a few pens preparing for the lecture while Mingi was in a world of his own.
“So”, you started enthusiastically and left a friendly pat on his shoulder, purposely trying to contrast his state with your own energy as much as possible, “what were you doing last night that you’re like this now?”
“A lot”, he answered immediately. “I didn’t sleep the entire night. That’s my tenth cup of coffee today. I feel like I can literally taste colours at this point.”
“Jesus Christ, why didn’t you just stay at home and sleep?”
“I skipped too many lectures. I need attendance to pass this class.”
“Sucks to be you.”
After that he got really quiet again which usually isn’t quite like him but being sleep deprived does things to you. He seemed like he was deep in thought over something but you weren’t sure how capable of thinking he was at that moment as the last few braincells he usually had bouncing around are probably all dead.
“What if we do something that cancels the lecture?” he jumped in his spot suddenly, a cute bright smile shining on his face.
You looked him dead in the eye for a second as you were actually processing the thought. “Okay, how much money would you give me to flip this table, right here, right now, in the middle of class?”
“Like, out of the window?”
“Isn’t that a bit extreme?”
“Just flipping a table won’t do much.”
“Then let’s flip it out of the window”, you said automatically not really meaning it but let’s just say it was in the heat of the moment.
Mingi blinked a few times before saying anything. “I’m broke tho.”
There was no room for any new stupid ideas to be made as the professor entered the class and was about to start the lecture. Mingi fell silent and you expected that was the end of it. That he’ll accept his bitter destiny of needing to suffer through the next two hours of math. But it wasn’t even five minutes into the lecture before you felt something heavy on your shoulder and his soft hair poking your cheeks. You felt like making a snarky comment or something but after managing to grab a little view of him peacefully snatching some of that sleep with his mouth wide open (and a few escaping snorts later on), you didn’t have the heart to say anything or move, worried it might wake him up. Your shoulder will suffer a bit from the heaviness but at least Mingi won’t be tasting colours anymore.

word count: 3.5 k

. . . . .
There are some mornings when you just know it’s not gonna be a good day. Whether it’s a feeling that gets under your skin, all the way to your bones, or in your case, a terrible hungover. Slowly waking up and blinking your eyes open you could feel a headache already attacking your head. And starting a day with a headache is starting the day in a shitty way. Your body felt heavy and sweaty and the comfiness of the bed didn’t help to feel any better.
Some sunlight managed to make its way through the window and directly into your eyes, making you turn around to the other side, the world turning with you as your head was about to explode. You were still half asleep, just barely having your eyes opened. Looking in front of you something felt out of place. As if it doesn’t belong there. A few more blinks, trying to push the sleep away. And then it finally clicked.
You weren’t lying in your bed. And to top that off, there was someone with you in the bed. Better yet it was Mark. Peacefully sleeping a few inches away from you.
You suddenly screamed as realization hit you and tried to get out of the bed, but your clumsy ass managed to get all tangled up in the sheets and not very gracefully fall to the ground. All of that got Mark woken up as well so already the next moment your screaming was accompanied with his as well.
“What the fuck are you doing?” you yelled at him.
“Me? I was sleeping before you decided to aggressively wake me up.”
“Okay but why am I sleeping in your bed?” you asked and scanned him for a second. “And why are you without a shirt?”
He opened his mouth about to say something but stopped before words got out. He suddenly looked very confused and pointed a finger at you. “I have no idea.”
You were interrupted the next moment as Johnny slammed the door open to check out what’s the reason behind all the noise. “What is happening here?”
“That’s what I’d like to know as well”, you muttered, but Johnny managed to catch that.
“You don’t remember?” he asked.
Both you and Mark immediately said no in unison which made Johnny’s face light up with a sly smirk.
“That face doesn’t look good”, Mark said nervously, already expecting the worst.
“Oh, god, did we fuck?” you screamed as that was the first answer you could pull out of that smirk Johnny had going on.
Mark jumped in his spot, not knowing how to react to your question but realizing it is a possibility, while Johnny just burst out literally yelling as he laughed. “No. Don’t worry”, he said once he managed to catch some breath.
You sighed with relief. Mark and you have been best friends for a while. You went through a lot together, but having sex definitely isn’t something you wanted on the list of things you shared and everything up to that moment kinda leaned towards that scenario so you were relieved when you found out the worst was out of the way.
“So what did happen?” Mark asked.
Another devilish smile formed on Johnny’s face. He took a dramatic pause before finally saying: “You two got married.”
Both of you stared at him for a few seconds while your still tired brains were processing that simple piece of information.
“Excuse me, what?” you asked while frowning, your eyebrows almost pierced together into one.
Mark was silent for a little while longer, looking like he’s deep in thought, before his thinking face softened and he was just “oh, right”.
“Come and eat breakfast and I’ll refresh your memory of what happened”, Johnny said lastly and left the room leaving you two alone.
…
the night before
You were staring at your empty bottle of beer, well aware that another would be a mistake as you were already feeling pretty drunk. But your stupidity was stronger than rational thinking at that moment so you still ended up being like ‘fuck it’ and ordering another one.
When Mark invited you out that night to hang out with some of his friends, you were expecting a chill night. A beer or two and then going home and being in bed by midnight. But turns out you were wrong. As it was almost 1 am and no one was showing signs of soon ending the night.
“We should go and do something fun”, Yeri suggested, one of your closest friends you basically dragged anywhere.
“I wanna dance”, Yuta yelled and started shimming with his shoulders.
“There’s a pretty cool club nearby”, Johnny inserted himself into the conversation.
The whole table was soon enough debating what would be interesting to do next as your butt cheeks were starting to ache from all the sitting.
“Christ, I don’t know if I’m in condition for any of that”, you said throwing your head back and leaning on the wall behind you, the entire picture in front of you moving with you and shaking into one blurry mess.
“You wanna go grab some fresh air?” Mark asked you, seeing how absolutely out of it you are.
“Sounds like a good idea.”
Moments later you managed to squeeze yourself out of the place and outside the bar. It was a pretty chilly night, but it wasn’t stopping a bunch of people to crowd in front of it to smoke a cigarette or two. Your body shook the moment the coldness hit it and you felt like it crawled under your skin all the way to the pits of your soul.
“Fuck it’s cold”, you whined.
Without saying anything else, Mark was already taking off his jacket and throwing it around your shoulders.
“What would I do without you?” you said, your tone more joking, but Mark knew you actually meant it.
“Probably die honestly”, he said making both of you laugh.
It’s true. As awkward and sometimes emptyheaded Mark could be, he was no where near your level of walking around like a living disaster – only the remaining two braincells bouncing around in your head. You two would always be up for dumb shit together, but it was no secret that a lot of times Mark was basically your babysitter.
“You shouldn’t have let me drink that third shot I took”, you said while grabbing your head.
The fresh air was actually doing wonders. You felt some of the dizziness going away, but for all of it, it’s gonna take a day of just laying around and peeing and sweating all the alcohol out of yourself.
“I realized it was a mistake only after you drank it and almost cried over cats five minutes later.”
You furrowed your eyebrows. “Honestly, I’d probably almost cry over cats even sober.”
“That’s valid.”
The concept of time left you a long time ago that night so you weren’t quite sure how long you were sitting outside on the edge of the sidewalk, just praying that a taxi wouldn’t come by and make you get up from your places. But it was probably quite a while.
“I still remember that one time you got even drunker than tonight at Johnny’s party. That was a wild night”, he smiled while remembering the memories.
You scrunched your face for a moment, trying to remember what he was talking about. “You mean when I hugged you like ten times and didn’t stop saying ‘this friendship is for life’?”
“That’s the one.”
“Lord, why am I so cheesy when I’m drunk?” you said, acting as if you’re embarrassed.
And then a thought popped into your head. A really dumb thought. Really really dumb. “I have an idea.”
Mark looked at you with anticipation, his eyes sparkling in the light making him look like a small cute kid.
“Let’s get married.”
He stared at you for a few seconds before bursting out laughing. But seeing how serious you were he tried to collect himself. “Are you serious?” he asked a half nervous smile staying on his lips.
“I mean if you’re up for it.”
“Wait lemme think about it”, he answered very seriously, but you weren’t sure how hard could he possibly think about it since he wasn’t all that less drunk than you were.
“Sure, I’m in”, he said after a few moments of silence.
Your mind just blacked out for a second. “For real?” you asked as only at that moment it truly hit you what you offered. And it was motherfucking marriage.
You weren’t sure if it was the alcohol. The fact that you never really thought getting married was a big deal especially since you could always get a divorce. Or if it was both. Or maybe something else. But you didn’t think much of it and both of you got mad hyped the next second and started jumping around and cheering.
“Shit, wait”, Mark suddenly stopped, his enthusiasm just vanishing as a serious face replaced it.
You looked at him confused. How he was grabbing one of the rings on his hand and suddenly kneeling down on one knee. Your hands automatically went up to your mouth to supress a surprised gasp making everything look like a legit proposal. In the night with the flickering street lights around you and almost romantic cold mist stretching through the streets.
“y/n, will you like, marry me?” he asked, the cutest smile forming on his lips.
“Fuck yes I will!”
He softly grabbed your hand, his own hands being so much warmer than your that you enjoyed his touch way more than you’d like to admit yourself. He put his ring on which almost instantly slipped to the ground as it was way too big for your hand.
“I’ll just put it on my thumb for now”, you said and laughed while he was getting up from the ground and taking you in a proper huge bear hug. You felt warm and safe for the few seconds he hugged you like that but were brought back into reality when the smokers crowding on the streets started cheering for you obviously believing you were a proper newly engaged couple.
Once you slid back into the bar and back into the booth the rest was sitting, Mark enthusiastically exclaimed: “Guess who just got married?”
Everyone looked pretty puzzled by the question.
“I literally could not care less”, Haechan said and went back to his beer looking uninterested.
“You?” Yuta asked but was obviously joking which also made him look completely shocked the next moment when you confirmed his answer. “Fucking pardon?”
Most were thinking that you were just messing with them, but Johnny and, ironically, Haechan were the first two to absolutely love the idea and get super into it. “I’m looking up places where you guys can get married right now”, he said while whooping out his phone.
“Are you sure about this?” Doyoung asked, some worry appearing in his eyes. “I mean it’s a pretty big deal.”
“Oh god, don’t be such a boomer, Doyoung”, Haechan protested. “It sounds like fun and that’s all that matters.”
“I’m obviously gonna be your maid of honor?” Yeri asked despite already knowing the answer.
“Obviously.”
The chaos soon erupted at the table. More than half of them got hyped over it in a matter of seconds while the others were trying to explain to you how the idea might not be the best one and how you could seriously regret it once you sober up.
“That’s gonna be a sober me problem then”, you said while nonchalantly waving your hand.
“There’s a wedding chapel like half an hour away with a car”, Johnny interrupted and most of you cheered.
“Let’s get it”, Mark yelled while getting up and so it was in process.
You had a ring, the place was decided. Johnny got extremely into it and ordered some people to get a bouquet and wedding rings while he’d drive with you two, Yuta and Yeri to the chapel and finish all the needing documentation before the rest would arrive.
“Aren’t you a bit too into this?” Yuta laughed while Johnny was drifting through the streets.
“Mark is like my little brother. The only thing I can do is make this the best night of his life”, he joked.
“Every night he spends with me is the best night of his life”, you said acting as cocky as possible while flipping some strands of your hair like a true diva.
“I’m truly blessed to have you”, he followed your act and squeezed your hand while trying to pull of a stare filled with love.
“Ew can you two stop flirting?” Yeri interrupted, a look of true disgust on her face.
“You haven’t seen the horror that’s Mark trying to flirt for real”, Yuta said and you could basically hear a satisfying grin in his voice.
“That’s cold, bro.”
Thanks to Johnny driving like an actual maniac, you arrived sooner than you expected. The place looked quite cute. Like a little church. But pink. It was obnoxiously pink, especially inside, but you kinda liked the tacky vibe it had going on.
“How can I help you?” a lovely young woman at the reception asked.
“We would like to get married if that’s okay?” you said while trying to come off as sober as humanly possible.
She eyed you for a second. If the way you acted didn’t give you away, your breath probably did. But she probably wasn’t all that concerned with it. After all, as long as you paid, she didn’t really give a fuck who and why is getting married.
“And who’s the happy couple?”
Mark gestured at him and you which made the woman shortly congratulate you before she asked for your identification documents and talked you through a bunch of other legal stuff. After around fifteen minutes the most important paper was out that was basically saying you two would be married after signing it.
“One last check, are you absolutely sure about this?” you asked Mark dead serious.
“I’m not backing off now, baby.”
A smile shined on your face once again and you confidently grabbed the pen and signed the paper. You were pretty sure you would be regretting it the next morning, but you didn’t really care. After all what’s the worst to come out of it. You’ll just have to get a divorce at one point, but all the jokes and stories you’ll have will be worth such a minor inconvenience.
The woman told you to wait on the benches in front for a while before the priest is ready. In the meantime, everyone else also showed up, excitedly showing what they got.
“The bouquet is gorgeous”, you said while staring at all the colourful flowers.
You were especially surprised with the rings. Cause apparently they were some cheap crap yet they still somehow looked simple and elegant.
“Wait”, Yeri suddenly yelled, jumping to her feet, her eyes wide. “Who’s gonna walk you down the aisle?”
“Oh, shit, I forgot about that.”
“I wanna do it”, Jungwoo said enthusiastically raising his hand up, looking like a little kid in the process.
You eyed him for a second. “Yeah, sure. Why not?”
And just like that everything you could think of was planned out and covered. Soon enough it was finally time to get in. While waiting in front with Jungwoo, you could feel your heart finally starting to act up as the situation finally got processed properly by your brain.
“You okay?” Jungwoo asked worried as he looked at your nervous face and how you constantly wiped your sweaty palms against your pants.
“I’m a bit nervous”, you said. “Excited, but nervous.”
“That’s normal”, he comforted you, sounding like some wedding pro who knows exactly how people feel in these situations. He then reached for one of his jacket pockets and pulled out a little bottle. “We got some whiskey if you want.”
At first you were a bit shocked at him pulling that out from out of nowhere in this moment, but you still took it and gulped a sip. “Thanks”, you said and he gave you a warm and reassuring smile.
It took about five minutes before everyone was seated and the music finally started. You took Jungwoo under his arm and with the bouquet in the other one slowly made your way down the aisle. Everyone stared at you and looked happy and excited. And at the end was Mark. Waiting for you. His eyes sparkling once again, his little smile making him even cuter than he usually is. Once Jungwoo walked you all the way to the front, Mark softly grabbed your hands into his and a feeling of warmth washed over you.
“This is kinda weird”, you whispered to him.
“I know”, he whispered back and you both softly laughed.
“Shall we begin?” the priest asked.
The ceremony was short and sweet. The priest was probably well aware that all of you were drunk and your attention span was at the minimum. You for one were barely paying any attention. You were mostly focused on Mark and how he’d giggle from time to time, his nose scrunching a bit and just looking all cute and precious. You never really stared at him for so long before so this was the first time you got to really appreciate this cuter side of him.
“y/n?” Mark called your name quietly.
“What?”
“The vows.”
“Oh, crap, right.”
You stopped for a second trying to figure out what to say, but your brain was mostly blacking out and not working straight. “I promise that I will not be just your wife, but your best friend. Forever”, you somehow managed.
“And I promise that I’ll always be by your side and take care of you. Even during the stupidest of your ideas.”
Something about the vows felt quite real and you couldn’t help yourself not to smile for a bit. You smiled again when Haechan brought the rings and Mark carefully grabbed your hand putting the little silver ring on. And you did the same. It felt almost weird doing it. You always expected to do it with someone you love with your entire being. And you did love Mark a whole lot, but just in a completely different way. You never, not even in your wildest dreams or fantasies, ever thought of Mark actually putting a wedding ring on you yet here you are.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife”, the priest said and you saw a huge smile shine on Mark’s face. “You may kiss the bride.”
For a second you just looked at each other awkwardly as if both of you forgot this was part of the ceremony. But exchanging a few glances, you agreed on just a tight friendly hug.
“He said kiss the bride, not hug her like some pussy”, Johnny protested from the side making the entire chapel cheer in unison.
Mark glanced at you one last time before he lightly pulled your hands closer to himself and quickly leaned in for a kiss. You felt his soft lips against yours for a second, tasting like alcohol and mint, and already the next one they were gone. Leaving you to your surprise to almost wish for the moment to last longer.
But you were soon pulled back into reality as everyone else started screaming and cheering. From all the noise you somehow managed to hear someone yelling to throw the bouquet so with barely any coordination you did so, hitting Jungwoo in the face in the process.
The moment felt unreal. It felt exciting and like pure joy. Something you expected from a real wedding as well. Everyone was happy. Everyone was up on their feet celebrating. Mark gave you another tight hug even pulling you up from the floor slightly, making you smile even harder. You took a picture with the priest who turned out to be a young really cool dude and like that the wedding was done, the memory created.
You went into the nearest bar for one last round of drinks and once the bartender heard you just got married, the drinks were on the house. Your heart felt full. Your cheeks were basically hurting from smiling so much. You never knew that a moment like that would happen. A marriage that’s basically fake and only legal could make you so incredibly happy.
You didn’t go home that night. Instead you went to Mark’s place that he shared with some of the guys. You both laid in his bed for a long time. Just talking. Laughing about the night. Laughing about so many other stuff. At one point you could feel his hand sneakily grabbing yours and you didn’t protest. It felt warm and nice to be held in his. You felt safe. You felt happy to be so close to him. So close to your new husband.

choi san . . . how real is your love : part II

part i.
genre: San x female!reader, college au
description: While trying to get rid of an obnoxious ex you end up in a sort of unusual situation. A fake relationship. With none other than the biggest player on the campus - San.
word count: 4.1 k
warnings: swearing, alcohol, smut-ish ??
. . . . .
Monday. Without a doubt the worst day of the week. You were seated in front of the lecture room next to Yunho as you waited for your next class.
“I still can’t believe you’re dating The San”, he commented.
“Fake. Fake dating”, you felt the need to correct him.
“Fake or not you got something many girls on the campus would be ready to kill for.”
You were about to say something to that statement, but the most annoying little mosquito decided to bother you once again.
“What the hell was that at the party?” Jonah asked furiously once he walked up to you two.
“What the hell was what? Me having a good time?”
“You and San?”
You furrowed your eyebrows. “I thought we went through this already.”
“He’s gonna get bored and break up with you after a week you know?”
“Okay”, you said completely flatly even though that sentence made something inside of you rage, but your tone seemed to strike a specific string with him as well.
“Okay?”
“He won’t do that. And even if he does, why the fuck do you care?”
“Because I care about you!”
In certain situations that would’ve been something very sweet to hear, but ironically you just felt like beating the shit out of him.
“Well stop caring”, you yelled. “We ain’t together. We ain’t friends or anything else and we never again will be. Just fucking leave me alone!”
He was silent for a moment. Realizing a bunch of students around you falling silent and watching the drama that’s going down.
“You’ll see in a few days I was right”, he said before finally leaving.
You clenched your fists and punched the air a few times trying to get rid of at least a tiny bit of anger.
“Is it possible to get a restraining order when it comes to this kind of bullshit?” you asked Yunho as you were massaging your temples.
“I don’t know. I don’t study law.”
It looked like this whole little act will gonna have to take a lot longer than you initially thought to finally really get rid of Jonah once and for all. He really was one of the most persistent motherfuckers you have ever come across and sadly you were stupid enough to date him and lead yourself into all this mess.
You were whining about your Jonah problems to Yunho and on Friday San also fell victim to your rants during the promised pizza date.
“Damn, that dude really doesn’t know how to take rejection”, he commented while also patiently listening to everything you had to say.
“I really thought this dinner would be the end of this whole relationship thing, but I guess I’ll have to nag you for a bit longer.”
“I like to be nagged this way”, he smiled and you could feel your damn heart warming up. Don’t!, you thought in your head. Don’t you dare catch feelings! “And don’t forget that there’s also a family dinner.”
“Not gonna lie, I’m really not looking forward to that one.”
“Why not?”
You shrugged your shoulders. “Not a fan of meeting anyone’s parents. And it especially doesn’t sound fun when they think I’m your girlfriend.”
“Okay, fair enough, but at least since you know we’re breaking up, you don’t have to try and leave a good impression”, he said reassuringly.
“But then when you bring an actual girlfriend they’re gonna be like ‘oh this one’s way lovelier than the caveman you brought the first time’”, you added with an almost sulky tone which made him laugh for a second.
“I’m sure they won’t call you a caveman.”
“That didn’t make things much better”, you said while trying to contain the half pout, but still softly laughed.
Soon enough the waiter finally came over with your drinks. Free drinks. Which made San very excited. And the fact both of your colas came in one huge glass with two straws made him even more excited.
“Oh, this is a proper couple drink”, he exclaimed as he wiggled his eyebrows in an attempt to tease you.
You tried to act as if his childish act isn’t getting to you the way he wanted as you rolled your eyes, but a traitorous laugh still escaped your lips.
You weren’t sure how to call that night once it finished. Was it a date? Was it just two friends hanging out trying to cheat themselves some free drinks? You couldn’t tell. And the fact he kept his hand around your waist the entire walk home and even gave you a soft forehead kiss for goodbye didn’t help the case. You didn’t know if he was doing all of that because he was just so incredibly dedicated to the role, because it all came so naturally to him and he didn’t even realize that you thought all of it wasn’t necessary or was it something else.
You didn’t have the proper answer to any of the questions you laid in front of yourself, but you decided to push them all aside. You felt like it was better not to even know them.
The next day an unplanned small get together became part of your schedule as San invited you to come to the smaller party some of his friends are going to. He said that there’s a high chance of Jonah being there as well so it would be a proper chance to prove his conspiracy of them dating for only a week wrong.
The party really wasn’t even a party. It was basically just a bunch of people in a living room sitting around the coffee table either drinking, vaping or playing some card and board games.
“y/n!” Wooyoung was the first to exclaim as you entered the room and a bunch of other people cheerfully greeted you as well even though you didn’t know almost anyone in the room.
“Glad you could make it, babe”, San said enthusiastically and waved his hand signalling you to come over to him. He was sitting on the end of the couch and he moved just enough to make room for your ass as well. Once you sat down he immediately grabbed your legs and threw them over his own to which you almost exclaimed surprisingly but were cut off with him moving you closer so he could leave you a kiss.
You smiled, not even sure if it was intentional acting or just your normal reaction. You noticed Jonah really was there as well and he looked nothing but happy over the way you were cuddled up to San.
Thankfully he wasn’t directly in your view so you managed to go on with your night without thinking much about him. San’s friends were all a bunch of popular guys from the campus, but all of them turned out way nicer than you expected as well. Seonghwa was especially one of the guys you heard a lot about – Liv has especially put herself a personal mission to try and win his dick over. But damn, he was one of the nicest souls you have ever come across.
Whatever included alcohol, some games and good company was a formula for a good time and that’s exactly what the night turned out to be. You were still giggling and throwing around jokes while you and San made your way hand in hand towards home, stumbling around like two drunks that you at that moment actually were.
“Oh shit, is that rain?” you suddenly yelled as a few drops hit your face. A few drops that already the next moment turned into a whole storm making you turn your little walk into a sprint towards the dorms.
“Jesus Christ, that literally sobered me up”, you said as you entered the building and started flapping your hands around trying to get rid of the unnecessary water.
San walked you all the way to your room and while unlocking it, you realized that he had a whole way to his house left after this so your mind started traveling through time and dimensions as you were measuring how good of an idea the thought that popped in your head really was.
“You wanna stay over for a bit?” you finally asked. “At least until the rain stops.”
A bright smile shined on his face. “I wouldn’t want to disturb your roommate.”
“Oh, she’s never here on Saturdays”, you added quicker than you expected.
You tried to figure out what’s going through his head, but his face seemed more than happy to accept the offer. You let him in, immediately apologizing for the catastrophical mess left inside.
“I’d lend you a dry t-shirt, but I doubt you’d fit into any of my clothes.”
“That’s fine”, he said and the second after that pulled his shirt off and put it over a chair.
You could feel your cheeks heating up as you couldn’t help yourself not to stare at his naked torso. “So you plan on walking around half naked?”
He moved closer to you, grabbed you around the waist and pulled even closer, obviously not wanting to let any space come between you two.
“Does that bother you?” he asked with a flirty smile, but you could hear in his voice he was obviously teasing you. Just like he always does, but you still couldn’t help your heart that started pounding faster and faster and the cold you felt from the rain going away cause you could feel your entire body heating up. You just prayed your cheeks weren’t the colour of a tomato. You didn’t want to give him that satisfaction.
“Do whatever you want, I don’t care”, you said with an unexpected burst of confidence that he was taken aback just for a bit. He stared you in the eyes and if he wasn’t holding you, you felt like you would’ve melted all over the floor.
The moment of silence felt incredibly long and heavy, but somehow not in a bad way. The unusual anticipation left hanging in the air as you waited for his reaction to your outburst moulded itself into some sort of insane tension. There was something going on. And it wasn’t just flirting to annoy you.
“Can I kiss you?” he finally asked and you could feel your heart stop for a second before it went into complete rampage mode. There wasn’t anything in his voice to make it sound like a joke. He didn’t have that usual playful smile. He was completely serious this time.
It probably wouldn’t be a good idea to say yes. It would go completely against the one rule you set up for yourself in this. But God knows you weren’t thinking anywhere near straight in that moment as you just crashed your lips against his without saying anything. The hands you had placed on his bare chest wandering around his neck as you wanted to get him as close to you as humanly possible.
Everything felt different this time than the time you kissed at the party. Something about it felt more real. There was no one watching. No one for who you had to put on an act. It felt passionate. It felt raw. It felt hungry. Just standing there pressed against each other – your hands gripping his hair and his sliding down to your butt as you just kept kissing like there was no tomorrow.
He pulled away for a second with a grin on his face. “I bet you’re cold”, he said while trying to catch his breath and his hands slowly wandered under your wet shirt making you almost twitch at his touch on your bare skin. Moments later your shirt was on the floor, soon enough accompanied with a bunch of other clothing pieces, while you two found your way to your bed.
You had sex before, but nothing ever quite felt like that night. Everything he did to you felt like pure pleasure. Every touch, every kiss, every thrust. It took you a while to catch your breath and actually get back to your senses once it was over.
When the rain stopped, he was still there. You laid cuddled up in your bed. Your head laying on his bare chest listening to his heartbeat as his hand kept you close. Every beat so soothing, putting you on the brink of falling asleep.
“This wasn’t part of the deal”, you said at one point, not sure if it would ruin the mood or not, but you just had to say it because you felt like that was the only thing keeping you awake.
“It wasn’t against it either”, he softly replied which made you quietly chuckle.
“Fair point.”
And soon enough you finally fell asleep.
Everything about that night felt good and right until you had a good night sleep. San left while you were still half asleep just grunting noises that couldn’t pass as sentences while he was apologizing for leaving. You hazily remember it was something about having a meet up with Wooyoung that he was already late to.
The moment you actually fully woke up, you immediately rushed to Yunho’s door.
“Bitch, we have a problem!”, you yelled and made your way pass him into the room.
You noticed his roommate Mingi was there and the subject was way to classified for his ears so the moment you stepped in, you immediately turned around and stepped out while grabbing Yunho’s hoodie sleeve and dragging him with you. “I’m buying you coffee.”
He didn’t seem too happy that you got him out in his slippers, but he didn’t complain too much either as there was a café literally next door to the dorms and you looked quite out of it.
“Are you good?” he asked, a proper worried look on his face.
“I slept with San”, you splattered out.
Yunho blinked for a few seconds as his brain processed the information you just threw at him like a baseball and then just grinned: “Nice.”
“No!”, you immediately protested. “Not nice. This just feels like it’s gonna lead to a disaster.”
“Why?”
“What if I actually fall for him?”
You got visibly upset as even your voice raised up quite a bit so Yunho dropped all the jokes and helped you relax for starters. “I think you’re making this into too big of an issue.”
You narrowed your and squinted at him. “How so?”
“Do you like San?”
“Well not yet I don’t”, you said a bit too loudly. “I mean, yeah, he’s cool and everything so far was great, but I don’t know…”
“Just don’t think about it too much and enjoy it while it lasts. If you haven’t caught a single feeling so far, you won’t in the next few days either.”
He seemed very sure of himself, but he still didn’t do too good of a job convincing you. At least you tried taking his advice of not thinking too much about it. You didn’t see San after that for a few days which definitely helped, but once you finally met to get coffee, you tried to talk things through. But he didn’t seem too concerned with everything that was happening. He didn’t seem like it was too big of a deal and you felt like you should stop approaching it as if it was. Maybe Yunho was right. If you haven’t developed any actual romantic feelings so far, maybe you won’t whatsoever.
You came to that coffee date with one thought in mind and went with a completely new one. As if something switched inside of you. Just clicked that, hey, maybe it really isn’t that serious. Which also led to you two sleeping together once again.
And again.
And again.
And the fake relationship in which you expected to kiss a few times just for an act soon enough grew into lots of casual sex. But you couldn’t complain. You were having the time of your life. You got to know San in the few weeks all of that was happening better than you expected. He was sweet and caring, but also carried some sort of wild demon inside of him. And then the last step was upon you. It was time to finally meet his family.
You were freaking out the whole day over it. You just wanted to leave a good impression that’s all. Even if you weren’t here to stay and you didn’t actually have to do it well, you still felt like it was a burden. And then something, or better said someone, came along that day that definitely didn’t help with all the stress pilling up inside of you.
“Hey”, Jonah greeted almost shyly as he approached you to the bench you were sitting on, patiently waiting for your next lecture.
“What do you want?” you asked as bitter as you could.
He slowly sat beside you, the whole time staying insanely quiet which started to make you almost nervous. “I’m sorry”, he finally said.
You couldn’t believe your ears. Did Jonah really just… apologize?? And you couldn’t detect any ill will or any signs of insincerity in his voice. He actually sounded like he meant it.
“Okay?...” you said, looking and sounding confused.
“I heard you and San are still together.”
“Oh, yeah… I’m actually having dinner with his fam tonight.”
You weren’t sure why you said that, but nonetheless it felt right saying it to him. He looked surprised by the sentence and you could notice he squeezed his fist a bit tighter, but he still stayed still and quiet – a Jonah you weren’t used to at all.
“Wow…” he said, a slight nervous laugh escaping his lips. “It’s really that serious.”
“I guess it is.”
That was the last time you heard from him. He stopped calling, texting, approaching you in any way possible. He just erased himself from your life. Left you in peace to be happy with the guy you were currently dating. He finally accepted he can’t get you back. And while thinking you’d be the happiest ever over it, seeing him all quiet and almost sad and broken on that bench beside you, you felt a bit bad for him. But the feeling soon enough vanished as stress started gnawing on you like a dog.
All of that thinking and stressing once again was proven useless. The dinner went perfectly. San’s family was just as nice as him. His sister was a lovely woman that was incredibly happy to meet you. You found out a lot of info San might not have wanted you to know like embarrassing childhood stories and such. The moment you really felt like you could finally breathe out was when you noticed his sister winking at him and whispering ‘this one’s a keeper’.
Everything was great. Your plan worked, the contract was fulfilled. And you didn’t know where to go from there.
Another Friday came and for who knows which time again you were sat in the pizzeria, happily sipping your drink from the couple’s glass, stuck deep in thought.
San pulled you back to reality when his warm hand brushed against yours. “Everything alright?”
You stared at him for a moment. A pretty damn long moment. You didn’t know. So much overthinking and worrying about everything yet you never had any answers.
“What now?” you asked.
He blinked a few times, a confused look on his face. “What do you mean?”
“The deal is done. Jonah isn’t nagging me anymore and I did all you asked in return”, you said very seriously. “It’s done so what now?”
“We break up obviously”, he said after a few seconds that felt like an eternity.
You felt as if something squeezed your heart tightly, but you weren’t sure what to think of it. It wasn’t necessarily a bad squeeze. The only thing you were sure is that the way he said that stung a bit.
“Is that what you want?” you asked, your voice dropping a lot quieter.
“I don’t know.”
Something you expected to be done in a few days stretched out on a few weeks, even almost two months. And at some point it stopped feeling like all of that was pretending. Because for who were you pretending when you were alone so many times? The line between it being fake and real was definitely crossed but you weren’t sure how far or how blurry it became. And you were sure San wasn’t sure either. You couldn’t tell what he was feeling about this whole situation, but you definitely stopped thinking all was fake. Some real moments got out of this. Real emotions.
You were left alone so many times. And so many things got out of it that no one would ever know and that would never prove the act tighter. Like being cuddled together under a warm blanket watching a bad movie and making jokes out of it. Exchanging soft kisses while trying to study in your room. Falling asleep on a sofa as you laid on top of him and him hugging you tightly. None of those helped the fake relationship in any way. Those were there because both of you just wanted them to be there. Both of you wanted the other one.
“Not all of this was fake, right?” you wanted him to say it. You wanted to have a clear answer to at least something.
“I know”, he said, becoming as serious as you.
“So did you think about just staying like this?”
You asked him a question you yourself didn’t know an answer to, but his answer was definitely freaking you out. The thought of having different answers was freaking you out.
“How about we write on napkins”, he suggested. “Write yes if you wanna break up and no if you don’t.”
The idea was kind of absurd, but you felt like you understood why he suggested it. If you had different answers, one of you might lie about their feelings to prevent hurting the other one.
It took you a long time to think. To evaluate everything that happened through the weeks. To finally try and grasp how you actually felt about San. You nervously wrote down your answer and nodded as a sign that you were ready.
“On three we show our napkins”, he said and pushed his closer to the centre of the table and you did the same.
Your heart was beating like crazy. The palm that was covering the napkin sweating so much you felt like you’re gonna smudge the text. The anticipation was literally almost killing you. You felt like your stomach was twisting while you waited for him to slowly count down. Once he hit one, you moved your hand.
Both napkins had the same answer.
You sighed in relief as yes was written on his as well. You both wanted to break up this fake relationship.
“Jesus Christ, I thought I’d puke”, you said while waving your hand like a fan trying to calm down.
You could see he was extremely relieved as well.
“How come you said no?” he asked, but not sounding as if he was hurt or anything, just genuinely wanted to hear your reasons.
“I just got out of a long relationship. As fun as this was, I kinda wanna enjoy the solo life for a bit now. Take a break from relationships and everything that comes with it.”
San nodded understandably. “Good. Solo life is great. Which is also why I wanna keep it that way.”
“At least you got your sister off your back?” you laughed.
“Is it gonna be weird if I ask you to pretend to be my girlfriend here and there if she starts nagging again?”
“It would be my pleasure.”
The atmosphere completely switched after that. It became almost even more relaxed and even more real. From now on everything that happens, aside from possible acting for his sister, is supposed to be just the real thing between you two.
“We’re staying friends tho, right?” he asked, an eyebrow slightly raised. You knew he already knew the answer, but was obviously just looking for a confirmation.
“Obviously.”
He nodded, satisfied with the answer he got. “Another question, perhaps a bit out of line but…” he made a short pause and you raised a suspicious eyebrow. “Wanna have sex one last time after pizza?”
You wanted to laugh so loudly that it came out as a snort which just made both of you laugh even harder.
“Sure, why the fuck not.”

choi san . . . how real is your love : part I

part ii.
genre: San x female!reader, college au
description: While trying to get rid of an obnoxious ex you end up in a sort of unusual situation. A fake relationship. With none other than the biggest player on the campus - San.
word count: 4.3 k
warnings: swearing, alcohol
. . . . .
“Okay.”
…
“Yes. Alright.”
…
“Just fuck off.”
You finally ended the call and for a few seconds just stared at your phone feeling the anger still going up inside of you. Absolutely furious after the conversation, you slammed the notebook you were holding into the floor and giving yourself the freedom of letting out a scream as you thought you were the only one in the college hallway at that moment.
Turns out you were wrong.
“You good?” a male voice asked you, making you freeze in your spot. Anger washing away as embarrassment replaced it.
You turned around to see a guy sitting on the bench under the window, a somewhat worried expression on his face. You immediately recognized who it was and felt even more like just dying in the spot and letting the bugs eat your body. There probably wasn’t a single girl on campus who didn’t know who he was. Probably one of the best-looking men you ever had the chance to see up close and everyone seemed to agree.
San. From all the people who it could’ve been behind you, it just had to be San.
“I’m,, fine”, you barely pushed words out of you as your mind was in chaos.
It wasn’t even because you had a crush on him or anything. You kind of settled with the fact you’ll never get a chance to kiss him or anything despite his growing reputation of a player, you just didn’t think an average you would get to beat some other way prettier, but also pushier girls on campus. But you also didn’t want to just be one of the many on his list. It wasn’t really worth it. Your sudden lack of knowledge on how a human should hold a conversation was more because of how truly gorgeous this man was that it felt almost intimidating talking to him, but also because everyone freaking knew him, it felt like talking to a goddamn celebrity. You didn’t want to make a fool of yourself, but of course when you don’t want that, it’s when your brain usually collapses to only a few last braincells.
“That was some intense phone call”, he commented, a quiet chuckle escaping his lips.
As he mentioned the call, all the anger suddenly starts piling up again and your face instantly frowns. “Yeah… I guess some exes just like to be unnecessarily intense.”
…..
“Come on, babe. Just come to the party it will be fun”, your ex, Jonah, insisted on the other side of the phone.
“Three things. I said no. Don’t call me babe. And for the love of god, stop calling me!”
“Give me one good reason.”
You roll your eyes so hard they could’ve gotten stuck at the back of your skull. He truly was as persistent as a cockroach. It’s been a few weeks since you broke up with him and since then he never stopped being obnoxious and trying to convince you that you did a mistake and how you two were actually meant for each other.
“I have a boyfriend”, you suddenly lied. You didn’t really think too much about it, but as you said it, you didn’t regret it. You even thought it might actually be a solution to your troubles.
There was a short moment of silence from the other side before Jonah finally replied, “Oh really?” At the same time he sounded pissed as well as not really believing you. “Bring him as well then.”
Well shit. Gotta try and figure a way out of that one.
“Why the hell would I bring my current boyfriend to an ex’s party?”
“Because it’s a hot party everyone from campus would like to go to”, he said while sounding completely full of himself.
You sometimes really didn’t know what you saw in that douchebag.
“And also because I ain’t buying that crap”, he added.
“I don’t have to prove anything to you.”
“I’m guessing you’re saying that because he doesn’t really exist.”
You were angry by that point, but now you could just feel your body heat up from the amount that was building up. You knew you didn’t have to prove anything. In normal circumstances he would’ve backed up by now. Hell, in normal circumstance you wouldn’t even be having this conversation, but something inside you felt like this might actually be the solution. Even though a bad one. Just as bad as the whole idea.
“Fine”, you say aggressively, “I’m coming to your stupid party.”
“And your little imaginary boyfriend as well.”
“Okay.”
“Ten o’clock.”
“Yes. Alright.”
“Try not to lose him by then since he is invisible after all.”
“Just fuck off.”
…..
You somehow ended up telling San the entire story once he got curious and said he had experience with crazy exes and he might be of help when it comes to advice. So it was one of those ‘why the hell not’ moments. It’s not like you get to lose anything. He’ll know some personal info about you, but you’ll live. You might even get some piece of advice that could actually be helpful.
“That’s rough”, he says after listening to your story.
You felt good after venting to him for a bit. Feeling all the anger slowly calming and your mind not being set into ‘smash anything in sight to feel better’ mode.
“Yeah well, now I have three more days to find a fake boyfriend.”
“Have any plans?” he asked, looking insanely invested into the drama of your life. As if he’s watching a movie going live in front of him.
“I had a short thought that I could take my friend, but Jonah already knows him. He’s not stupid enough to believe it.” You let out a deep sigh, feeling annoyed from the situation you got yourself in. “Don’t really have a plan B yet.”
“I can act as your fake boyfriend if you want to”, he suddenly said. Just throwing that offer on the table. There. It’s here. What you gonna do about it?
“What? Are you serious?” you got extremely confused by how quickly he offered that and because of the fact he actually did.
He just shrugged his shoulders as if he just offered you to keep a pen you borrowed or something. No big deal for him. “Why not?”
You suddenly got really suspicious. “What’s in it for you?” you asked while squinting at him.
“I want twenty bucks…”
Sounds like a reasonable price.
“…and I want us to go to this one pizzeria near campus one Friday evening cause then they have a couples offer where you get free drinks.”
That one’s kinda unusual, but okay. Doable.
“You want to act as a fake couple just to get a free drink?” you asked, a bit of judgement crawling into your voice.
“I want to feel the satisfaction of getting something free. And doing something illegal.”
“I really don’t think fake dating to get a drink is against the law, but sure we can do that”, you said while doing your best not to laugh at someone who just offered his help. “Is that all?”
San seemed to think about it for a second before adding one last thing, “I want you to come to a family dinner.”
“Uh, why?”
“I have an older sister who constantly fucking ridicules me how I need to stop messing around with so much girls and try and be serious for once.”
“Kinda stupid. You’re like twenty. If you ain’t gonna mess around now, when will you?”
“That’s what I told her”, he yelled being all dramatic over it. “But yeah, those are my terms. We gonna do it or no?”
He suddenly turned serious starring at you with those dreamy eyes of his and you suddenly got hit with realization that the most desired guy on campus offered to be your fake boyfriend. You weren’t quite sure how you felt about it, but one thing you were sure about is that once Jonah sees him, he’s gonna get jealous. As in jealous. And that moment is the satisfaction you want.
“It’s a deal”, you say as you shook his hand, a smirk forming on your lips.
“How about we write a contract?” he suggests. “I want to have it written that you owe me money.”
You rolled your eyes, but still agreed because of which you ended at the nearest café. It was late afternoon by that time so the café was pretty empty. Everyone was either already done with classes or currently in one so it felt pretty peaceful as you drank you black coffee and kept writing down the discussed terms.
In the end the contract said:
This is a contract between San and y/n who have agreed to fake a relationship. Their fake relationship will be built on a few rules:
1. San has to go to Jonah’s party with y/n
2. y/n owes San 20$, a pizza date and attendance at one of his family dinners
3. If needed the relationship may last longer
4. neither side is allowed to have any other relationships during this one
San wasn’t too happy about the last one, but as you assured him this entire act most definitely won’t last long, you both ended up singing it so it was officially settled. You stayed in the café for a little while longer just talking for a bit, getting to know each other a bit better. To your surprise, San wasn’t really what you imagined he’d be. He wasn’t all that full of himself or cocky and annoying for someone who was so popular and wanted. He was definitely confident, but he also had a somewhat softer side that only showed up for a second when he excitedly talked about a plush he sleeps with, but he immediately after changed the topic and asked you for your discretion and not to tell anyone at which you just laughed.
“Don’t worry, your secret’s safe.”
Once you both finally finished the coffee, it was time to finally go home and prepare for tomorrow’s classes. Leaving the café, you said your goodbyes and prepared to go each in their own direction. But just as you wanted to turn around and leave, San suddenly grabbed your arm and pulled you closer to himself, your lips crashing against each other. You felt like your entire body decided to stop working, like your heart stopped beating and your lungs stopped taking in air, the moment you felt his soft lips against your own. His other hand wandered behind your neck as he deepened the kiss for a moment before letting you go.
“What the hell was that?” you scream at him completely flustered while his lips just turned into a shape of a satisfied smirk.
“I wanted you to know what it’s like to kiss me”, he said as if it’s the most obvious thing. “It would’ve been suspicious if I kissed you for the first time in front of someone and you got all embarrassed and weird.”
“I’m not embarrassed and weird”, you complain despite feeling your face turning as red as a tomato.
“Whatever you say, babe”, he said through a smirk, putting weird emphasis on the word babe.
You wanted to yell something back at him, but thought it would probably be better to just leave it and finally go home. The dorms weren’t that far away from the café, but instead of going to your own room, you set off to a different floor and knocked on a door that didn’t belong to you. Few seconds later, Yunho opened.
“You won’t believe the day I had”, you said as you let yourself in and plopped down on his bed.
Luckily his roommate wasn’t there so you could freely tell all about your dramatic day to your friend.
“I literally feel like you won’t believe me.”
“What happened?” Yunho asked, sounding only half interested as he was occupied with a cup of instant ramen on his desk.
“I got myself a fake boyfriend.”
That sentence alone was enough to get his full attention. “I’m sorry, what?”
“And the wildest part is”, you stopped for a second to make a dramatic pause even starting to swing around with your hands, “it’s San.”
“You’re right, I don’t believe you”, was the only thing Yunho said after that.
You started to explain him the story from beginning to end. The phone call with Jonah, how San saw your angry tantrum and how it led to making a pact with his to have a fake relationship. Even the unexpected kiss at the end.
“Is he as good of a kisser as everyone says?” Yunho asked as his eyebrows were wiggling playfully.
You rolled your eyes for a moment. “I mean, you know. He’s decent”, you said trying to act cool.
“You think it will work?” he asked finally.
“I don’t think Jonah is smart enough to realize it so, yeah, I think it will work.”
You two talked for a little while longer before it was seriously about time you go to your own room and prepare for tomorrow.
You tried to occupy your mind with studying and all the college stuff you had to take your mind away from the party and Jonah, but also away from San as well. As much as you hated to admit it, you were kinda excited to act as his girlfriend. Not many girls manage to get that so you did feel a little bit special, even if it was all fake.
The three days went by too fast and it was already the day of the party. You haven’t seen San ever since the day you made the contract. Only texted to agree on a place and time of meeting each other. You were getting kind of nervous as you were rummaging through your closet. With a hot boyfriend, you wanted to look just as hot and not like some kind of gremlin next to him, so a seriously good outfit was needed. When you almost gave up on deciding on what to wear cause nothing seemed good enough and right after you threw yourself on the bed with an extremely loud and dramatic sigh, your roommate, Liv, exited the bathroom and found you in your despair.
“Still haven’t figured out an outfit?” she asked.
You let out a whiny ‘no’ to which she just laughed teasingly before opening her own part of the closet. “I can lend you one of my dresses.”
You immediately jumped in your spot as that was a wonderful idea. Liv had way more style than you and putting on any of her nice ass dresses will for sure make you look bomb.
“I think you should go for a classic nice black dress”, she commented while going through the hangers with clothes, you still just seated on the table as if you’re five years old again and waiting for your mom to pick an outfit for you.
With both of your strengths combined, you managed to make you look just like your goal was - hot as fuck. So you were finally ready. Liv was also going to the same party, but somehow she always starts getting ready when these kinds of things already start and shows up two hours late, but that’s fine. She wasn’t your concern right now. You were more worried about the actual party and how things will go. Will Jonah really believe your fake relationship? Well, there was only one way to find out.
You met with San on a little square nearby the house. In some nice pants and a simple shirt that he tucked in he looked casual, but still like he could walk the runway any moment. When you got close enough to him, he gave you a subtle scan from head to toe and added a nice compliment, “you look hot.”
“Thank you”, you said while flipping your hair like some kind of diva, but still felt your cheeks heating up a bit. “You look pretty nice too.”
The two of you had a nice little chat as you were walking towards the house. San turned out to be someone really easy to talk to. You somehow never had an awkward silence to get between you and the conversation would constantly just keep flowing. Something you didn’t expect, but you actually enjoyed talking to him. You always kind of had a prejudice that he would be insanely boring or that you just wouldn’t have any common topics to discuss. But turns out you were wrong.
“You ready?” he asked when you were so close to the house, you could hear the music blasting.
He slid his arm around your waist and pulled you closer to himself to which you almost let out a surprised squeal, but thankfully it managed to stay inside of you.
“I hope so”, you said as you could feel your heart start to beat up and it was hard to tell if the reason was San’s arm or the fact you’re about to face Jonah.
You were about half an hour late, but to your surprise the party already picked up. Music was so loud, you could barely hear anyone talk in certain parts of the house. Some people already managed to get drunk. And it was already so crowded that it was hard to move. You and San split up for a few moments since he settled for beer that was in the kitchen, but you wanted to find something stronger to get you through this night. And just as you were mixing yourself a drink, you felt a hand on your back. At first you thought it was San who came back after getting his beer, but unfortunately you found yourself face to face to Jonah. Already. And you couldn’t even get a drink to make all of this a tad bit more tolerable.
“Well, hey there, babe. I couldn’t help but notice that you’re alone”, he said, the nastiest smirk forming on his face.
“How many times do I have to repeat not to call me babe, asshole?” you asked, anger getting into your voice as you seriously weren’t having it.
“That’s harsh”, he said in a mocking kind of way. “So where’s this boyfriend of yours?”
He really wasn’t wasting no time before getting straight to the point, but it wasn’t enough to make you lose your cool.
“He went to get a beer.”
“How convenient.”
He seemed so full of himself. You could tell he was so convinced you were lying and probably convinced he’d have you in his arms again by the end of the night. An absolute idiot if he really did think you’d stoop so low.
He continued teasing you, subtly implying the whole time how your boyfriend story was obviously fake and you were just about to say something when San suddenly showed up next to you, sliding his arm over your shoulder and surprising you with a short kiss when you turned your head to look at him.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, sweetheart”, he said casually before turning to face the man in front of you.
Your entire body felt like it was on fire for a second and you had to quickly collect yourself not to seem suspicious in front of Jonah.
“Who’s your friend?” asked San, despite being well aware of Jonah since you showed him pictures to be prepared.
“Not a friend”, you said, trying to make your voice sound as cold as possible.
The look on Jonah’s face was exactly what you hoped for and was the only thing you looked forward to that night. Complete surprise as he stared at San not knowing what to even say.
“This is the boyfriend you were so eager to meet, San”, you said with a mocking tone in your voice. “And San, this is my ex Jonah.”
“Oh, dude, sorry didn’t want to make it weird”, San immediately said and pulled his arm away trying to look like a decent guy who doesn’t want any trouble. “I’m gonna go dancing, so just find me after, okay?” he added and disappeared.
You were once again left with Jonah, but at this moment, you weren’t the slightest mad about it as Jonah still didn’t quite know what to say.
“Can you finally leave me alone now?” you asked while crossing your arms on your chest.
“San?” he asked with the most confused and almost angry look on his face. “From all the guys on the campus, how the fuck did you get him?”
“Are you saying I’m not good enough for him?” you asked and tried to seem mad although it was fairly amusing for you.
“I’m just confused.”
“I think the word you’re looking for is jealous.”
He let out a loud pfft to try and make you think how that was the most absurd thing you could’ve said. “Sure thing”, he said sarcastically before just walking away without another word.
Mission accomplished.
With a satisfied grin on your face you went to find San.
“How did it go?” he asked enthusiastically when you found him.
“Perfect. He looked like a little kid about to throw a tantrum and it was beautiful.”
San answered with a soft laugh, two cute dimples showing up that you didn’t notice before.
“I didn’t really have a plan from this point on”, you admitted.
He took a few gulps of his beer as he got lost in thought. “We definitely can’t break up after tonight, it would be too soon and suspicious.”
You kinda didn’t hate the idea of fake dating San for a bit longer, but you tried to play it as cool as possible. “You’re probably right. Jonah is an idiot, but I don’t think he’s an idiot of such a scale.”
“Well… Let’s not worry about him anymore and just have a good night. How about that, babe?” he asked and shoot you a playful smile.
“Sounds good to me.”
The rest of the night went great. You finally got your hands on a drink and the moment you stopped thinking too much about Jonah and how this whole situation you got yourself into is quite odd, it got even better. San was extremely flirty the entire night. You were showered with attention, compliments and soft touches. It all felt a bit too real at some points. He even introduced you to his best friend Wooyoung as your girlfriend and didn’t give any further explanation.
“Who would’ve thought you’d actually stick with only one girl”, Wooyoung teased him a bit.
He was quite a character. Very charismatic, but also very funny and silly – almost like a little boy.
“Anyway, I don’t feel like third wheeling any longer so you two have fun”, he said. San tried to convince him to stay a bit longer, but soon enough you two were left alone.
Well not really alone. There was still a bunch of people around you in the hallway just trying to get away from the loud music for a second. And as it seems some people you didn’t want there as well.
“Okay, don’t look, but your little ex has been sort of following us half of the night”, San said as he subtly eyed one end of the hallway where Jonah probably was.
“Jesus, I thought I was crazy when I kept seeing him”, you said as you rolled your eyes, anger once again crawling back into your voice.
You were about to say something else, but you were surprised by San suddenly leaning a lot closer to you. You were already standing with your back against the wall and once he leaned his forearm on the wall above you and leaned forward, the space between you was almost non-existent.
“I’m pretty sure I know how to get him away.”
He was so close you could feel his breath on you and it made your body heat up once again that night. Before you could even say anything he moved into a short kiss. It was so short, you weren’t even sure whether it happened and once it was over he moved a few inches, just enough to see your expression, as if he was evaluating your reaction.
“Is that all you got?” you suddenly asked, confidence you didn’t know you got pilling up inside you and a playful smile stretching on your lips.
He didn’t give you what would be considered a usual answer. But instead you were met with his lips once again as this time he wasn’t holding back. They were soft and tasted like alcohol. He grabbed you by your waist to pull you even closer to him that you could feel his entire torso pressed against yours and a wave of heat suddenly washed over you. Your hands wandered around his neck and into his hair. It was soft. So incredibly soft.
You don’t know how long you stayed like that. You were completely immersed into the moment. Kissing him felt like nothing ever before. It felt so passionate. Like all he wants is to keep you in his arms and kiss you forever.
Once the kiss broke and you both gasped for air, you just let out a half awkward laugh and lightly smacked him on the chest.
“Not bad for the biggest player on the campus.”
You stayed at the party for a little while longer before complete tiredness got the better of you and you made your way home. The rest of the night and probably the whole weekend, you spent in constantly thinking about it. About Jonah, about San. Especially about San and this whole fake relationship that he really devoted himself to the part. You weren’t sure what to think of it, but one thing was for sure. You can’t catch feelings. And that’s final.

so close I could kiss you . . . lee minho

genre: Minho x female!reader, college au, neighbour au
description: Being neigbours with your close friend can only lead to lots of unexpected adventures, but falling for him wasn’t one you had in mind.
word count: 8.1 k
warnings: swearing, alcohol, gets a bit more heated at some points ig
. . . . .
“Is the concept of sleep that weird to you?” you mumbled while squinting at Minho who was standing in front of your apartment door in just his pyjamas and some duck shaped slippers.
He seemed very eager and excited about his idea. In his head it obviously didn’t seem as flawed as it did in yours. Going to get ice cream isn’t as wild as someone would think. But when it’s almost 1 am and he insists on going to a place that’s a whole hour away by car then it becomes a slight problem.
“You’re a liar if you try to convince me you were sleeping”, he says, knowing damn well how messed up your sleeping schedule was.
“Okay fine”, you give in after the minimum effort he had to put into trying to make you change your mind. But to be honest, you were kind of feeling the idea of ice cream so you quickly put on some shoes and grabbed your car keys and the two of you were off to an adventure.
Moments like this weren’t rare. If it wasn’t Minho, it would be you to come up with some stupid idea that the other one would always end up jumping on in instant. Cause that’s what friends are for. When you were just starting university and moving into your current small, but comfy apartment, you never imagined you’d get this close to a neighbour. Especially since you always highly disliked neighbours or having any kind of interaction with them, elevators being the absolute worst. But one day he just knocked on your door asking if you had mayo so he could put it on his pizza, you subtly shaded him for putting mayo on pizza and instead of taking offence he unexpectedly invited you to join him and his roommate Chan. A bold food choice definitely threw you off at first, but you thought he doesn’t deserve to be crossed off for it. Especially since he was mad cute as well. And your decision lead you to a wonderful friendship.
And it lead you to sitting in your car at 1 am while driving towards a specific ice cream shop.
“I have class tomorrow at 9. I’m actually going to die”, you whine as you glance once again at the clock in the car.
“I suggest you simply don’t sleep”, Minho suggested as if it was the most obvious solution.
“Absolutely terrible idea Mr. Lee. I am a weak human and my organism does not wish to die that way.”
“Then have a power nap in class.”
You had a snarky comeback ready for him, but instead just paused for a second thinking about it. “Honestly not a bad idea.”
The rest of the trip there was pretty much just filled with both of you complaining about uni, how it doesn’t let you breathe and how the approaching exams are already stressing both of you. In the end, the trip to get the ice cream ended up as a good way to just get away from all of that stuff and put responsibilities and thoughts about it on side for a bit.
“Do you think you could go alone?” Minho asked once you finally parked in front of a brightly lit ice cream shop, basically no other cars around you except what you assumed were the workers’.
“What? No. Why?”
“I’m literally wearing slippers.”
“And I literally don’t care. The ducks will match well with my Batman pyjama pants”, you answered shoving him out of the car as he was grunting like a small annoying child. “Where’s that cocky confidence of yours when you need it?”
As you managed to get him out of the car, the two of you made your way to the entrance of the shop, but it would be too easy if you just walked in, so instead Minho abruptly stopped you as he grabbed the hood of your hoodie and pulled you back to him almost chocking you in the process.
“Watch it, dumbass”, you complained as you lightly slapped his hand away, but his attention seemed to be on something completely different.
“Look”, he said and pointed towards a poster hanging up next to the entrance door. “It says it’s a special couples offer and they get 15% off if they buy two cups of ice cream.”
Your brows frowned as you read the poster yourself. “I hope you’re not thinking what I think you are.”
“It’s 15% off, you’ll survive as my girlfriend for five minutes”, he said with his signature smirk and grabbed your hand into his.
With your on going complaining, you two finally got inside. The place was pretty much empty. It had one dude moping the floors, some guy who seemed homeless passed out in one booth with a plate where once was a pancake with ice cream and a girl at the counter – smiling tiredly as you approached her.
“What can I get you two?” she asked trying to be nice, but you could see a judgemental spark in her eyes as she scanned the two of you from head to toe.
“I’ll have one mint and one vanilla”, Minho answered obviously not caring about the cashier. “And what would you like, babe?” he added as he gave you the sweetest smile you ever saw him pull on his face.
For a second your process of thoughts was just cut off. As his hand felt warm around yours, his smile even warmer and then the babe being the final hit. You just blacked out for a second as all of it felt really weird.
“I, uh, chocolate”, you somehow manage to get across your lips.
“Just one?” the cashier asked getting your head back to earth completely.
“Two.”
The plan went completely as Minho wanted. You got the ice cream and you got the discount. And you were on your way home, this time Minho behind the wheel while you were still enjoying one of the best ice creams you ever had the chance to taste.
“Oh yea, I wanted to ask you something?” Minho said after he got bored of nothing but silence and the sounds you smacking your lips and finishing the ice cream. “There’s a party at Changbin’s house tomorrow.”
“He’s that one hella rich friend of yours?”
“Yeah. He said both me and Chan get a plus one to bring to the party so I thought you might wanna go.”
“Sure. I’m always down for some booty shaking.”
He just lightly smiled and mumbled a soft ‘great’ in return. So it was settled. You suddenly had plans for tomorrow as well.
Your little adventure soon came to an end as the car stopped in its destined parking spot and both of you went to your own place. You collapsed in your bed immediately, debating how much do you actually have to go to the morning class, but you just really needed the attendance if you wanted to pass.
You kinda regretted your life choices from last night the moment you woke up, but remembering how good the ice cream tasted, you were soon over it. The class wasn’t as bad as you expected. Not really taking Minho’s advice, you ended up drugging yourself with coffee that kept you alive just long enough to get back home and dive back into your bed. It was Friday so nothing to worry about for tomorrow which only means one thing. Napping! If it could be called a nap cause you passed out and slept for almost six hours. It would’ve been even longer if your hungry stomach didn’t rudely wake you up. After finally giving your body some food to survive, it was time to get ready.
You were going to just some house party with a bunch of students so no need to dress too fancy. Just cute enough to feel good about yourself and if so desired to get a lil bit of action as well. So it ended up being new baggy jeans matched with some fishnets underneath, a cute crop top and heeled boots. For a second you felt like some edgy tumblr post, especially when you added dark red lipstick, but you liked it and felt hot and confident.
Just as you were checking yourself in the mirror in the hallway one last time, Minho barged into the apartment while screaming: “Come on, idiot, we’re approaching the moment that crosses the line of being fashionably late into rudely late.”
He subtly checked you out, but gave a not so subtle compliment after it, “You look hot.”
“Thank you”, you said with a satisfied smile on your face and pushed him out where Chan was waiting.
“Am I not getting a compliment as well?” he asked as he pouted trying to fish for some ego boosting words.
You dramatically rolled your eyes, but still told him he looked cute.
“Damn. I was going more for the homme fatale kind of look”, he said, but you could tell from the confident aura he had around him that he definitely believed he pulled off what he intended.
“Whatever you do, just don’t feed his ego anymore”, Chan joked when he saw you were thinking about something else to add to your list of compliments besides cute.
“Shit, you’re right”, you laughed and left it just at cute.
After taking an Uber, cause all three of you planned on drinking, you finally arrived at the party. Despite talking to Changbin here and there, you two weren’t super close. You did know his family was swimming in money, but the house you arrived to was still way bigger than you expected. Perfect size to have a shit ton of students over for a party. Very brave thinking nothing would end up broken. But anyway, the party was already in full operation. Drunk people everywhere drinking and either sitting around and hanging out or dancing to the loud edm blasting from the living room.
You made your way to the kitchen where you found Changbin sitting on the counter with a beer in his hand. He was talking to Felix and a guy you saw like twice, but you believed his name was Hyunjin. He got really excited when he saw the three of you walk in, immediately giving Chan and Minho one of those signature bro greetings while you got a very solid high five.
“Where’s your plus one Chan?” he asked putting his hands around his eyes and mockingly scanning the room.
“Come on, mate, you know all the people I know are the same people you know.”
“We all just kinda hope, you’d finally find some other people to hang out or perhaps even…” he made a dramatic pause while all the boys suddenly acted like they were talking about the weirdest and most wild thing ever when Minho added, “a girl.”
“Y’all are hilarious”, Chan said sarcastically. “I have too much to do. I don’t have time to meet a girl.”
“Yet here you are”, Felix added. “Use the party as an opportunity to meet new people.”
Chan just waved his hands towards them as if he’s trying to blow away all the jokes they were throwing at his account. He took a beer from the counter and disappeared into the crowd.
Hyunjin and Felix were off to their own shenanigans as well so it was just you with Minho and Changbin. Changbin offered you something from all the different alcohol lined besides him on the counter, but from all the various choices, you felt like warming up with some beer first. You drank your beer as you listened to whatever they were talking about with just one ear, your attention mostly observing the crowd.
“Speaking about girls”, Changbin suddenly went back to the first topic, “I always kind of thought the two of you would be a thing by now.”
You almost spat out the beer you were just in the process of drinking, but instead chocked on the gulp you took while Minho just laughed. Both at you and the question.
“Why did you think that?” Minho asked, genuinely curious while you would’ve preferred it if the topic was dropped.
“I don’t know. Both of you have some kind of chaotic energy. I feel like you would fit each other.”
“Well we do”, Minho said, a smirk forming on his lips.
“Yeah, as friends”, you added pushing him so he would drop the creepy smirk going on. “I’m just gonna go dance. You two fuck around as much as you want.”
You finished the last few drops of the beer, left it at the counter and let yourself blend into the crowd. The music was loud enough to get all the way to your bones, making you feel every beat in your heart and making you want to dance until your legs give out. You were one with the crowd, yet still stuck in your own little world as the alcohol and music hit your head. Dancing as if there’s not a single worry in your life. Feeling good and feeling happy. But the little utopia your mind wandered off to disappeared as you felt a hand grab your ass and a male figure invading your private space completely. You looked up to see which guy decided to skip a bit too many steps and come to you so confidently just to see your ex-boyfriend arching above you.
“Can you fuck off? You ain’t wanted here”, you said, your voice clearly heating with anger.
“Come on, let’s do it just once like in the old days”, he smiled cockily and pulled you closer into himself making you even more mad.
“I’ll have to pass on that offer.”
You were trying to push him off of yourself, but the dude was persistent as hell and wouldn’t let you go.
“Fuck off!” you yelled again, but you weren’t managing to achieve anything and everyone else seemed to be too immersed in their own worlds to see what’s happening and give a hand. But suddenly you did feel another hand lightly grab your shoulder while the other pushed your ex away.
“She clearly said to fuck away, bro.”
You recognized Minho’s voice and felt his hand protectively pull you towards himself while glaring at your ex with a warning look.
“And who might you be?” your ex asked with a dumb smile as if he doesn’t care about anything in this whole situation.
“Her boyfriend”, Minho said without hesitation, sliding his arm over your shoulder to make it even more convincing.
You could see the dumb smile fade from your ex’s face as he looked at Minho once again. “Can’t believe you went for some pretty boy while you can have a whole man like me, but okay.”
“He’s a bigger man than you, but whatever makes you feel better”, you spat as he was finally going away and disappeared just like he suddenly appeared.
“Holy shit, I really owe you one”, you added while turning to Minho.
“Wanna say thank you in a form of a kiss?” he asked teasingly.
You rolled your eyes and lightly smacked his chest. “How about a dance instead, lover boy?”
“That will work too”, he smiled and grabbed your hand, turning you around.
“Just tone it down a bit with the moves. I don’t wanna embarrass myself next to your perfect dancing.”
“Yes, ma’am!”
Minho really was such a good dancer. He moved so effortlessly, but still managed to get you to follow his moves without a problem. It was fun getting lost in the moment – just dancing to the music and being playful. It didn’t even feel weird as his body got closer to you, his legs brushing against yours. You could feel his hand being hesitant when he slid it lower on your back, but as you didn’t push it back and instead gave him a small smile, he slowly got even lower and pulled you closer towards him. The next moment your arms wandered around his neck, getting the two of you dangerously close to the point you could even feel his breath on your cheek. For just a second you glanced towards his lips that were so close to you, you could’ve kissed them if you wanted to. But then something snapped inside you as you realized what’s happening and slowly broke the physical contact, giving him just a soft smile at the end.
“Well that was… fun”, you said trying not to be awkward because of the fact you just got so damn close to your friend to the point you could’ve felt his entire body pressed against yours at moments.
“You complain that you would’ve looked bad besides me, but you’re a surprisingly good dancer”, he answered, not seeming like the situation is awkward in any way for him.
His little compliment made you get a stupid satisfied smile on your face. “Thank you, lover boy.”
After that you hanged out for a bit with other people as well. Ended up even playing some beer pong which just got you completely drunk if you weren’t already. When you were on your way to go home, Changbin had to call the Uber for all three of you and safely set you off home, hoping you wouldn’t end up in some ditch along the way.
“Let me know when you assholes get home”, was the last thing he told Chan before the car door closed.
What happened after became all a bit blurry in your memory. You remember the Uber. You remember getting home. But the next time you were fully yourself again was the morning after when you woke up on your couch still wearing what you had the night before. Minus the pants that were thrown on the floor.
You got up with a burning headache as well as pain in your back from the highly uncomfortable sleeping position and ‘bed’. Like some kind of zombie, with small steps and a lot of grunting, you made your way to the kitchen and put all your energy into making coffee. You sat on the kitchen counter next to the coffee machine while waiting for it to be done when your mind started blasting a bunch of memories from last night. Ignoring the major dick aka your ex, the night was pretty fun. You hung out with lots of people, got to play some beer pong, absolutely crushed Woojin at it, danced a bit. And then the memory of you and Minho suddenly came back again and you could feel your cheeks burning up and your heart skipping a beat.
One would say those are clear signs of developing a crush, but you would’ve sworn that wasn’t the case. You believed that was a normal reaction after remembering a moment when you got so physically close to someone, but the fact it was no one else, but a super close friends made the situation a bit weird. For some reason you got worried as if it could impact your friendship with Minho and make it awkward, but common sense was trying to tell you that it really wasn’t all that mention worthy or special in any kind of way.
So you just did your best to push it at the back of your mind and not give it too much thought. And Minho obviously didn’t think much of it as well since nothing changed after that night. No awkward moments, no weird tension. Just you, him and lots of usual dumb shit going on.
Soon enough exams arrived and passed. You were just done with your last one and decided to celebrate so you invited yourself over Minho and Chan’s place where they welcomed you with open arms once they noticed two bottles of wine in your hands.
After a few glasses, all of you were already in Tipsy Land. Chan ended up on the floor whining about life as you were sitting on the couch and putting all your focus onto Minho’s hair you were trying to braid into a beauuuutiful French braid at which you were obviously failing miserably considering your state as well as the length of his hair.
“Wanna just ask random questions and answer truthfully?” Chan asked obviously getting slightly bored as he stared at the ceiling and twirled the glass of wine in his hand.
“Sure. You can go first”, you said while just finishing Minho’s half assed braid that reached only half of his head.
“When was the last time you had sex?”
As the question processed in your head, you squinted at him ready to say something, but Minho beat you to it, “That’s a strong one to start with, don’t you think?”
All three of you laughed before Chan changed it into something a bit tamer, but soon enough you were back to the kind of questions everyone was actually curious about.
“Okay, this one’s for, y/n”, Chan said with a smirk on his face.
“I already hate it”, you mumbled, but you were still interested in what he had to ask.
“If you had to pick someone to date from my and Minho’s little group of friends, who would it be?”
Your eyebrows got almost pierced together as you frowned, but not because of the question that you expected would have made you way more embarrassed than expected, but more because you needed some clarification. “Is that like everyone from the Chan’s Kids group chat?”
“Yep.”
“You two included?”
“Obviously.”
“Changbin already said you would fit me the most”, Minho interrupted with something you completely forgot about.
You felt your cheeks heat again and you weren’t sure what was the reason. But you tried to keep your thoughts collected and not let him know that his little comment got to you. “Well aren’t you feeling confident about that”, you teased.
“I mean, am I not right?” he teased back.
“Can the two of you not flirt while I’m here?” Chan complained after he got back up and proceeded to drink more wine.
“I’m picking Woojin”, you finally said, a dumb smile on your face as you know Minho didn’t get what he wanted.
He suspiciously squinted at you. “Why?”
“He’s sweet and hot.”
“I’m also sweet and hot”, Minho pouted.
“You’re a little bitch”, you joked while pushing him and his cute pout away from your sight. Because you just might give in to him.
“But hot, right?” he asked through a stupid smile as he was obviously enjoying annoying you.
“God, you’re impossible”, you roll your eyes, “sure, a hot little bitch.”
He excitedly punched the air before realizing it was his turn again and thinking of a question. It went on for a few more rounds until Chan got defeated by tiredness and disappeared to his room. You and Minho still weren’t feeling too tired despite the wine, which you completely managed to finish, doing its work.
“I’m kinda feeling pancakes”, you suddenly said and as a response getting a fast head turning from Minho as he stared into your eyes and whispered, ‘brilliant idea’.
This time it didn’t end up with you two going out to get the food, but instead getting everything ready in the kitchen. You managed to find all the needed ingredients so Minho was currently mixing the mixture in a bowl as you were heating the pan.
“You know, you really shouldn’t let me handle heavy machinery when I’m this drunk”, you commented while pouring oil into the pan.
“You literally only turned on the stove and put a pan on it.”
“A heavy pan”, you emphasized, but got only a laugh from Minho.
You offered to try and make the pancakes despite knowing what a complete mess in the kitchen you are. Minho could’ve just taken over the work instead of you and do it properly, but watching you struggle seemed like the more entertaining scenario.
You never made pancakes before and expected it to be easy, but to your surprise – it wasn’t. Or at least it wasn’t because you were either terrible with food or just drunk. Or both. Your first pancake looked like a disaster. But it was your disaster and you were proud of it.
“What do you think?” you asked Minho as your eyes sparkled with excitement.
He looked at it with a somewhat judgy look. “If we’re being honest-“
“We’re not.”
“In that case, it’s the best looking pancake I have ever laid my eyes on. Gordon Ramsay could never.”
“Thought so.” You seemed exceptionally pleased with yourself despite the amount of sarcasm in his sentence.
Putting aside how absolutely wonderful your first try ended up, you still decided to pass the spatula on to Minho and let him do it. Instead of that, you focused on cutting up some strawberries that you luckily found in the fridge. Adding some strawberries to a pancake with Nutella was the second best thing in existence. You were doing a wonderful job with it until suddenly the strawberries weren’t the only thing red. It took you a second to process that you actually managed to cut your finger and it was bleeding out.
“MIIIINHOOOOO”, you scream once the realization hit you.
Turning around and seeing the blood coming from your finger, Minho just grabbed your hand and put it under water. He pulled it out for a second and observed the cut and then just pushed it back under water.
“There’s no need to be so dramatic. It’s not that deep”, he said calmly and you were just super impressed at how well he handled it.
He finished the pancake and turned off the stove so he could order you to go to his room. Entering it, you got hit in the face by the smell of Febreze. You sat on his unnecessarily huge bed while he was looking for some bandages.
“This bed is hella comfy”, you said when your ass felt like it sat on a cloud.
After a little while, Minho finally found what he was looking for so he gently grabbed your hand and cleaned the cut with some alcohol. It stung, but not as much as you expected. It probably really wasn’t as deep as you freaked out in the beginning. He put the bandage and you were as good as new.
“Give me just a sec to really test out the comfiness of this bed”, you said immediately after and threw your body on the bed. Which was a terrible idea cause tiredness instantly hit you like a truck that came out of nowhere. “On a second thought, I don’t think I’m moving.”
“What about the pancakes?”
You got your head up just enough to look at him. “Can you bring them here?”
You were lucky Minho had no food in bed policy and that he absolutely adored your annoying ass cause he really did bring the pancakes to the bed. You managed to eat one before getting fed up and just passing out on the bed once again while he was still devouring the pancakes he had left in his plate.
“Is it fine if I just sleep over here? I literally don’t have the strength to move my legs all the way to my own bed.”
“Sure”, he said as he laid the plate on the night table and whipped his hand into a napkin. “Just don’t grab all the blankets.”
You didn’t expect he’d say yes so fast. He seemed completely chill with you invading his bed and you were more than happy about it because you fell asleep a minute after getting permission to do so. The only problem was the fact you fell asleep on top of the blanket so even if you wanted, you couldn’t grab and drag them away from Minho. Him being nice tho, he didn’t want you to get a cold and somehow rolled you to the side to try and get you off so he could actually cover you instead of the order being all messed up like that.
You slept like a like baby that night. Even almost snuggling up to him to replace him as the stuffed bear you still slept with. Minho’s bed really had to be magical or something because it’s been a while since you got such a good night sleep.
Once you woke up he wasn’t there anymore, but you could still feel the warmth he left behind. You barely made yourself get up and get to your own apartment so you could finally start your day, but it was certainly a struggle to leave such a good bed.
Leaving his room, you found him and Chan seated in front of the tv both eating some kind of form of a breakfast.
“Holy shit, what happened last night?” Chan yelled when he saw you coming out of Minho’s bedroom.
Minho gave him a mysterious smirk while you were the one to roll your eyes, “I just slept over cause I was tired.”
“Sure, you did”, Chan wouldn’t let it go, but he didn’t get more of a chance to joke because you just left their apartment to go to yours.
You tried going on normally with your day. You made breakfast, took a shower, watched tv, but all the time your mind was constantly going back to last night. Nothing of major importance even happened, but for some reason you couldn’t let go how different and good it felt being close to Minho that night. You started overthinking the whole situation. Worrying that maybe, just maybe, your feelings for him weren’t completely platonic anymore. Otherwise how would you explain your heart racing each time you thought about getting closer to him. Even remembering when you danced with him and had a chance to kiss him. What would’ve happened if you did it? Would he back away? Or would he actually have liked? You just couldn’t stop thinking about him, but you were still trying to convince yourself it’s nothing to worry about. It’s just normal human nature to like the presence of another human, right?
Well with those thoughts pushed aside, you tried to keep your cool and not do anything dumb when he asked you the next day to go some grocery shopping. He would always ask you to go with him cause apparently it was too boring and unbearable without you.
“How’s your attempt to eat healthier going?” he asked you while picking up some vegetables.
You let out a deep dramatic sigh. “Terrible. Lasted like twelve hours before I ate a whole box of ice cream.”
“Isn’t that a new record though?”
Your face lit up with a satisfying smile. “It is. Thank you for noticing.”
“You’re getting better by an hour. One day you might get to a whole day”, he teased and your smile instantly turned into a slightly annoyed frown.
“Not all of us have a will as strong as rock to just live on grass.”
He skewered you with a dirty look. “Those are some harsh words for someone who eats at least four times a week at our place.”
Uh oh. He got you there so it was better to just shut up before you lose your lunch for the next day. Minho wouldn’t hesitate to doom you to some instant ramen noodles. You focused on the food around you. You were in the dairy section so you took some milk for yourself, but as Minho can never decide which yoghurt to take, you were getting slightly impatient. You were trying to kill time by just pushing around the shopping cart and then pushed your body on the handle getting your feet on the metal below the cart as if you were five again. You got surprised when Minho’s hands suddenly ended up around you on the handle and his body arching over yours.
“I feel like a dad with an embarrassing child”, he said while starting to push the cart with you still in your stupid position.
You felt your heart race once again as he got so close to you even starting to freak out when his body slightly brushed over your back. You suddenly started realizing that perhaps all the thoughts you were trying to push aside might have been your true feelings. The two of you would share physical contact in the past as well through hugs and similar stuff and yet you never felt like this. You had to admit to yourself that you might actually be in love with your neighbour.
Once again you started thinking about it way too much. Whether it’s actually real or not. You might have just been single for too long and want a guy’s attention. But then why would you freak out at just the mere thought of you ending up dating him. Whatever it was, it was stupid. Because what are the odds of him actually liking you back. He might flirt with you sometimes, but that doesn’t have to mean anything. It’s just how the two of you worked even though it lead to this – you actually catching feelings like some kind of disease.
You refused to go to his place for lunch the next day. Said you already ate. You just didn’t feel like seeing him and getting tired from the rollercoaster of emotions. At the end of the day, you felt like going insane. You just had to get out, but you also had to talk to someone before exploding. So you grabbed your car keys and knocked on their door. Luckily for you, Chan opened.
“Wanna get some fried chicken?” you asked him.
He blinked a few times as a confused look formed on his face. “Aren’t you here for Minho?”
“No.”
He became even more confused. “It’s 11 p.m.”
“Please, Chan. It’s… important.”
It’s hard to tell if it’s his own curiosity about the situation or just the way you looked at him from which he could clearly see that you were distressed, but he accepted your offer and soon enough you were driving through the night to get some fried chicken.
“So what’s up?” he asked trying to get some answers over what’s going on.
“Okay, so… I’m not sure how to really tell you this, but-“, you made a long pause as you were trying to search for the perfect words. But how does one tell someone they’re in love with a friend who also happens to be their roommate. You simply don’t get the instruction for that in some guidebook. In the end, the only and best thing to do is to just say it and finally put it out there. “I think I might be in love with Minho.”
For a second there was nothing but silence and the sound of your car working and rushing through the dark streets. But then, after he finally processed your words, Chan smiled widely.
“Honestly I was just expecting when this would happen, but what I did not expect is that you’d be so serious over it”, he said while a soft laugh escaped his lips.
“Bro, it is a serious thing”, you got all heated up in a second.
“No, it’s a simple thing”, he corrected you. “You like him and he probably likes you. You two just have to figure it out finally.”
Just the hypothetical words of ‘he probably likes you’ made your blood rush to your cheeks. “Why do you think he likes me?”
Chan shrugged his shoulders. “I’m his friend and roommate. I can tell by the way he flirts with you. He doesn’t do that with any other girl. He gets all smiley and excited when he talks about you. Plus you constantly have some weird ass tension going on between the two of you.”
“N-no we don’t”, you stuttered for a second.
He gave you one of those ‘I ain’t buying your bullshit’ looks. “Of course not”, he said, pouring a whole bucket of sarcasm into that sentence. “I literally feel like if you two were left alone in a small room with nothing to do for two hours, you’d just end up fucking.”
“Jesus Christ, Chan, I get it!” you screamed at him as your palms got so sweaty you felt like you were gonna crash into the nearest traffic light.
“Look. I can’t help you in a way to go as your private detective and try to find out how he feels. He never comes forward with his crushes. You’re gonna have to figure it out on your own.”
“But I don’t know how to do that”, you whine just as you arrived to the drive thru for KFC. “Hopefully chicken will make me feel better.”
You ordered a whole bucket for four that was waiting in Chan’s lap for you to get home.
“What if I fuck up the friendship?”
“You won’t”, you get as an immediate answer from Chan. “He cares about you too much to completely break up the friendship over something like that.”
“I hope you’re right.”
Once you arrived home, you took a plate of chicken and Chan went home with the rest as you still didn’t feel like facing Minho. You were tired and simply didn’t have the strength to deal with anything anymore that night. You ate the chicken and went straight to your bed, but couldn’t sleep because thoughts were once again occupying your mind. Thinking about the possibility of Chan actually being right. Thinking about what you should even do.
Before you were able to come up with a proper answer for that, you fell asleep. You still didn’t come up with anything smart even when Minho called you over the next day to help him put up a new mirror in the bathroom. Saying no was your first instinct, but you felt like he would start getting suspicious over why you started avoiding him. So there you were. Sitting on the toilet while looking whether or not the mirror is perfectly aligned.
“A bit more to the left”, you said while intensely staring at it.
“Your left or my left?”
“We have the same left”, you rolled your eyes, but still laughed.
When the mirror finally looked decent, he gave you a high five for good work and proposed some pizza for lunch to celebrate. Despite still trying to get away from him before you decide what you wanna do, you didn’t have a good enough excuse why not, so pizza with Minho it is. But the bathroom door seemed to have a different kind of plan prepared for you as the doorknob broke off into Minho’s hand when he tried opening the door – leaving the two of you trapped inside.
“Are you shitting me right now?” you frown. You tried taking the doorknob from him and putting it back, but it wouldn’t work. And his attempt didn’t end up much different.
“It can probably be opened from the other side”, you said after some observing.
“Yeah, but Chan isn’t home.”
“Can you call him?”
Luckily, at least he brought his phone in with himself, but after calling him, you were doomed to be trapped in the bathroom for at least an hour as Chan had something else to do.
“What the hell does he have so important going on right now?” you asked while getting slightly irritated.
But only after you stopped worrying over how you’re gonna get out and settled with the fact you’ll have to wait for a bit for Chan to let you free, you realized the situation. It was literally what Chan mentioned the night before. Just you and Minho, trapped in a little room with no entertainment. Talk about wild coincidence. For a second you started freaking out a bit, but remembering that it’s literally just Minho with who you constantly spend time alone, your heart rate soon became normal again.
“I wish I could call the pizza man, but no one could let him in”, Minho whined, not getting pizza obviously being his main issue here.
An hour passed soon enough. You were killing time first by just talking, but as you got bored you helped Minho clean his part of the bathroom cabinet, you played tic tac toe with toothpaste on the perfectly aligned mirror, cleaned said mirror. And after almost three hours Chan still wasn’t back. You couldn’t help but feel like he might be doing it on purpose. But as four full hours in there were approaching, both you and Minho started to slowly lose your minds from not knowing what to do.
Once again you were seated on the floor, your backs against the bathtub.
“Have you been okay the past few days?” Minho suddenly asked catching you completely off guard with such a question.
“What do you mean?”
“You seem kind of out of it. Like your head is just floating in the clouds half of the time”, he said and then moved his head to look you in the eyes, the corner of his lips curling up into a smirk. “Perhaps you’ve fallen in love?”
He was obviously teasing you. Just like teachers would do when a kid wouldn’t pay attention in class. But it still made you heat up as if someone pushed your body into an oven. You weren’t sure what exactly to do, but for some reason, being honest felt like the best thing.
“I did. So?”
The attitude came out of nowhere and it certainly managed to throw Minho completely off.
“Wait, seriously?”
You gave him a short nod before turning your head and gaze in front of you so you could break the eye contact because it was becoming too much for you.
“So who’s this lucky guy of yours?” he asked scooting closer to you as if he’s about to hear some hot tea being spilled.
“No one special.”
“Oh, come on, y/n. You always tell me everything.”
“I kinda want to keep this one for myself”, you said while doing all your best to seem chill and not letting the chaos from inside of you get to the surface.
He shut up for a second, but you could tell this wasn’t over yet. He leaned his elbow on the edge of the bathtub to support his head that was now, as well as his upper body, completely facing you. “You worried?”
You gave him a short confused huh as a response, not really sure what he meant.
“You worried he’d turn you down or something?”
“Why would that be stopping me from telling you?”
“I don’t know. I’m just guessing.”
Suddenly there was silence. You glanced at him and saw him warmly looking at you, as if just his eyes are trying to tell you that he will be here no matter what. The silence felt heavy since you could just hear your heartbeat a lot more intensely.
“Then why don’t you wanna tell me?” he asked again, breaking the silence for a second.
Your body still felt hot. Your heartbeat was literally ringing in your ears. You felt as if gravity was pulling your entire body down as it felt heavy. “I guess I’m worried”, you said, your voice barely louder than a whisper.
You mustered just enough courage to not let your gaze drop and kept looking him into his eyes that seemed confused for a second, but then something sparked inside them. At that point your faces were so close that once again if you wanted and had the courage, you could’ve kissed him. But that didn’t work out, unfortunately. You didn’t get to lean over and give him a kiss because it was him who slowly got closer, locking your lips into a very short peck. Simply just brushing your lips against each other. For a second he moved back, as he was trying to tell whether he read the situation correctly. But seeing your lips form into a gorgeous wide smile, his lips quickly found their way back. Crushing against yours into a deep kiss. Another one. And another one. And soon enough his hand grabbed your leg and smoothly pulled you into his lap, your legs on each side of his body. He was kissing you with so much passion as his hands were holding your body, trying to press you as close as he can towards himself.
His lips tasted like mint. His hair felt soft going through your fingers. And it felt warm and safe being so close to him. You felt like you could’ve stayed like that forever, but just a moment later, you heard the door opening and Chan entering the apartment. Both of you quickly got up and fixed yourself before the bathroom door opened and you were finally set free.
“Sorry it took me so long. You two okay?”
“Splendid”, Minho smirked and went out, giving you a little wink behind Chan’s back.
Feeling a bit shaky from what just happened, you slowly went out, but just as you were passing Chan he stopped you by grabbing your arm and quietly asking, “Everything good?”
“Of course. Don’t worry”, you answered giving him just a cheeky little smile to go with it.
You went back to your apartment and threw your body on the couch just wanting to scream from so much joy into the pillow. Although you didn’t really get to actually talk with Minho about this since your mouths were too busy doing something else so you didn’t want to get too excited over it. Perhaps he just wanted to kiss you and end it at it. You never know. You couldn’t tell just where exactly were you standing with him as of that moment.
Being trapped in the bathroom for so long, it was already late afternoon. You microwaved some leftovers since you were starving and then just watched the tv while debating what to do next. But once again Minho was a step ahead of you when he sent you a text just saying to come over.
You didn’t think too much about it and just got up and walked into their apartment.
“You wanna talk about it?” you asked when you saw him sitting on the couch.
He got up, walked up to you and gently pulled you closer. “How about we talk about it over dinner tomorrow?” he asked with his usual confident smile before landing a short kiss on your lips.
“Tomorrow doesn’t really work for me”, you teased which made him just squeeze you in a tight hug.
“You really are impossible sometimes”, he laughed.
But already the moment later he was planting more kisses on you. They felt a lot more hungry this time so it wasn’t all that surprising when you ended on his bed, your hands wandering under his shirt feeling his hot skin and his wandering all over your body slowly undressing you. You never expected that a day that started with a mirror would end up with you passionately kissing Minho and feeling his gentle touch on your naked skin.
The night ended up in the best possible scenario you could’ve thought up in your head and your heart and body were filled with so much joy. Making you wish it would never end.
But the next morning came soon enough. And you woke up in his bed once again. Everything looked the same like last time, but the feeling was different. Just like last time, he was already up, just his presence still laying in bed. You got up and took one of his shirts being thrown over a chair, put it on and made your way outside in search for food. And just like last time you found Chan on the couch with a cereal bowl in his hands.
“Yo, Chan”, you called his name. “This time something happened last night”, you exclaimed all proud and cocky which just made him laugh out loud.
“Heard you’re having a special date tonight”, he added.
“Damn right I am.”
Despite feeling like just boasting the entire morning over your night, you still thanked Chan. Because who knows what would’ve happened if he didn’t give a few words of encouragement. You’d still stay trapped in the bathroom, but the scenario might have played out differently. But it didn’t. And you got what you wanted. You got Minho and it can only get wilder from this point on. And you couldn’t wait to see what the future had in store for you and your favorite idiot.

[18:28]
Like some kind of small child, you let out a loud gasp of excitement as you stared at the aquarium in front of you, your nose so close to the glass you were almost fogging it.
Ten wasn’t exactly feeling the aquarium as much as you did. Or better said, not nearly as much. He was more of a coincidental victim that you dragged along since no one else had time to go. He was having some fun at the beginning when everything was cute and colorful, but you could tell the moment he got over it was after all the huge ugly fish came along.
“I’m not stepping foot into the ocean after this”, he commented each time another huge bad boy would swim past him.
“You’re such a pussy sometimes”, you teased, but his mood kind of stayed the same.
Not sharing your enthusiasm, he was usually following behind you, not wanting to get too close to the glass and occasionally throwing in a little snarky comment about some of the sea creatures. At one point, the aquarium didn’t really pique any kind of interest in him because you became much more fun to observe. He liked the little spark in your eyes and how much your face lit up when you’d talk about something you saw and really liked. You really were like a little child so immersed in the magic of the aquarium that Ten was missing, but during that time he fell for a different kind magic.
As long as you remember, you two were good friends with just a pinch of flirting here and there, but it was never something serious. So this was the first time Ten felt something weird as he watched you tapping on the glass and annoying the shark behind it.
He came closer to the glass again and closer to you, his arm brushing lightly against yours.
“Would you like to go eat something after this?” he asked.
“I’m kinda craving sushi right now, not gonna lie.”
He glanced at you, a dumb smile on his face. “You’re unbelievable.”
“Yet you still adore me”, you said, suddenly grabbing his hand that felt soft and warm in yours. “Now let’s hurry. I’m hungry.”

“No”, another firm answer rolled down Seonghwa’s lips as he was staring one second at you, the other at the fluffy thing in your arms. “Absolutely not.”
“Oh, come on, man! Do you not have a heart?” you whined, but unfortunately your roommate didn’t seem like he’d change his mind that easily.
“You do know you’ll have to feed it?”
You rolled your eyes dramatically. “Yes, Seonghwa. I’m not a complete moron. I know puppies need to eat. Next concern.”
“He’ll shit all over our apartment.”
“I’ll pick it up”, you answered confidently, but your face soon turned into a frown as Seonghwa let out a loud snort.
“You barely do anything.”
“That is not correct.”
Seonghwa crossed his arms on his chest as a smirk formed on his lips. “Oh really? You once tried slicing bread with scissors because you didn’t have a clean knife.”
“Oh my god, that was one fucking time?”
The puppy in your arms was starting to become impatient and tried wiggling out of your grasp. You stared at the little brown ball of fluff and instead of putting him down, you just suddenly pushed him towards Seonghwa who, not having time to think, took the puppy out of your arms.
A few silent seconds filled your living room as a complaint didn’t come out of him and instead he just stared at the pup, a slight confused expression on his face. You could almost see his eyes melting out of sudden affection towards the cutest creature that walked into the apartment so you tried to get him one last time. “I promise I’ll take good care of him.”
Seonghwa smiled faintly as he put the puppy down giving him one last pat and then was forced to deal with you, but instead of strict look, you could see on him that you already won. “Alright fine. You win”, he smiled making you jump from excitement and throwing your hands around his neck to hug him.
“By the way, I already called him Sushi.”
