Day 600 of thinking about Camellya in the Cubic event that should have been considered innocent and cute, but instead inadvertently doubled down on how much of a tragic character she is.

As the event progressed, we watched more and more characters interact and befriend each other. Carlotta, offering Calcharo to work with her and later gifting Shorekeeper a perfume. Encore, instantly vibing with Roccia. Cantarella with Changli, of course. Brant, who was just happy to be there, and even Jinhsi seemed quite content in Cartethiya's company. The only character whose dialogue remained unchanged throughout the whole event?

I'd approach her after every level, hoping to see something change, but even as the Cube World became populated with newer characters, she still kept her distance. Worst of all, every time I(Rover) offered to stay with her, her reaction remained the same: she'd push them away with a simple “Go have fun!” as if she's the least important part of Rover's journey...

Although the game assures us that Camellya prefers it this way, I can't help but wonder if she's subconsciously scared of being burdened by abandonment again. She did learn to be less dependent on Rover in her character quest and let them go, but she has shown to be capable of making friends and enjoying herself in other people's company—at least, as long as “the voices” don't bother her:

(God, it pains me deeply that she hears voices and they won't let her be happy and fully embrace her true self, as she's constantly in a dangerous state of near-overclocking due to her past traumas. And the fact that she doesn't hear them at this moment makes her self-aware that she's not real, but Rover is, which is all that matters to her? Past Rover, when I catch you.)

Anyway, I need this woman to come back ASAP.
