The key symptoms of COVID-19 virus are cough, fever, breathlessness, anxiety, delirium and agitation, but you may also have fatigue, muscle ache and headache. Please note that severe breathlessness may cause anxiety, which may increase the breathlessness further. This leaflet has some simple breathing exercises you can do to help relieve the symptoms of breathlessness and anxiety if you are self-isolating at home. You may find this helpful if you are very breathless, become anxious or if you find tummy breathing difficult. This type of breathing allows more time for the air to leave your lungs, making it easier to take the next breath in. Find a comfortable position. You could choose one of the positions of ease as shown previously. Relax your shoulders. Breathe in through your nose then breathe out in a relaxed fashion through pursed lips. Continue until you feel your breathing is under control. ❌Avoid breath holding during activities e.g. stair climbing, housekeeping etc. ❌Avoid rushing. Try to pace activities. This might mean allowing more time to do activities e.g. getting out of bed, showering, dressing etc. ✅Try to ‘blow as you go’. This means breathing out on effort e.g. blow out when lifting or when standing up from a chair. #Covid #stayfitwithanand #pursedlipbreathing #physiotherapy #lungs #shortnessofbreath #breathingexercises #breathingtechniques #Corona #breathingexercise #breath #breatheinbreatheout #health #fitness #physiogram #physiotherapist #physio #physiotherapystudent #physiotherapy_world #physiomemes #physiolife #physicaltherapy #stayhome #staysafe https://www.instagram.com/p/COBFVAzBz4O/?igshid=a2c2cuts4t4q

The plank, also called a front hold, hover, or abdominal bridge is an isometric core strength exercise that involves maintaining a position similar to a push-up for the maximum possible time. The plank strengthens the abdominals, back and shoulders. Muscles involved in the front plank include: 1️⃣Primary muscles: erector spinae, rectus abdominis (abs), and transverse abdominis. 2️⃣Secondary muscles (synergists/segmental stabilizers): trapezius (traps), rhomboids, rotator cuff, the anterior, medial, and posterior deltoid muscles (delts), pectorals (pecs), serratus anterior, gluteus maximus (glutes), quadriceps (quads), and gastrocnemius. Muscles involved in the side plank include: 1️⃣Primary: transversus abdominis muscle, gluteus medius and gluteus minimus muscles (abductors), the adductor muscles of the hip, and the external, and internal obliques. 2️⃣Secondary: gluteus maximus (glutes), quadriceps (quads), and hamstrings. #stayfitwithanand #physiotherapy #physio #physiogram #instagram #health #healthylifestyle #fitness #iaftworld #fitnessmotivation https://www.instagram.com/p/CNSoc73jADo/?igshid=wmijn7n3ahme

Aerobic exercise is any type of cardiovascular conditioning. It can include activities like brisk walking, swimming, running, or cycling. You probably know it as “cardio.” By definition, aerobic exercise means “with oxygen.” Your breathing and heart rate will increase during aerobic activities. Aerobic exercise helps keep your heart, lungs, and circulatory system healthy. Aerobic exercise differs from anaerobic exercise. Anaerobic exercises, such as weightlifting or sprinting, involve quick bursts of energy. They’re performed at maximum effort for a short time. This is unlike aerobic exercises. You perform aerobic exercises for a sustained period of time. #aerobic #exercise #physiotherapy #exercise #gym #stayfitwithanand #physiotherapy #physiotherapist https://www.instagram.com/p/CNNMuZkhV5h/?igshid=18s18k5whmdtt

The most asked question when I was doing workout 😆, can I use TENS to build up muscle without any side effects? The brief answer to the question, then, is no. TENS cannot be used to build muscle because it does not cause a complete muscle contraction. However, the therapy is effective in treating pain, releasing muscle knots, and improving athletic training sessions in a therapeutic capacity. However, electrical muscle stimulation may be possible answer, but Your #physiotherapist better know #electrotherapy than you🙂. Do not use anything related to electricity ⚡️, it can cause sever harm to body. TENS is better for pain relief, whereas EMS has been shown to help with muscle development and rehabilitation, though more research is needed. TENS has low electricity output as it is modulated in circulation. So DO NOT TRY AT HOME 🤣 To read More about TENS, How it works and how it can be used in gyming and exercise? Just check the link in Bio. #stayfitwithanand #physiotherapy #physiotherapystudent #physiotherapyclinic #physiotherapists #physicaltherapy #physcialtherapyfriday #gym #exercise #health #pain #fitness #gymmotivation #painfreegym #gymlifestyle #gymlife #gymtime #gymmemes #gymgirl https://www.instagram.com/p/CLzXwp-hXZ0/?igshid=ikzctdetp9uy

Plica syndrome is a condition that occurs when a plica (a vestigial extension of the protective synovial capsule of usually the knee) becomes irritated, enlarged, or inflamed. Knee plica problems usually get better without surgery. You’ll need to rest your knee for a while and put ice on it. Your doctor may suggest anti-inflammatory pain medicine, like ibuprofen or naproxen, and stretching your leg muscles, especially your quadriceps and hamstrings. Some exercises can help strengthen those muscles over time to keep the problem from coming back. These include straight leg presses, mini-squats, walking, riding an exercise bike, or swimming. You can see a physical therapist to get a specific regimen that will help with your pain. Your Therapist may use #iontophoresis or #ultrasoundtherapy to heal and reduce the symptoms. #stayfitwithanand #physiotherapy #physicaltherapy #physiogram #physio #physiotherapist #physiotherapystudent #physiotherapy_world #physicaltherapist #kneepain #kneepainrelief #health #fitness #physiotip #instagram #instadaily #tipoftheday #healthylifestyle #painfreemovement https://www.instagram.com/p/CLuda9gBWwO/?igshid=114lml3f7grpw

Determining the most plausible pain mechanism is crucial during clinical assessments as this can serve as a guide to determine the most appropriate treatment for a patient. "An unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with, or resembling that associated with, actual or potential tissue damage." Is what IASP Says. With or without treatment human body is that way created that body keeps adapting since the pain started. In any way it is like that no pain is going to stay same, so as therapist i feel like we have to modify the treatment protocol according to pain and and perception of person. #physiotip #stayfitwithanand #physiotherapy #physicaltherapy #physio #physiotherapist #physiogram #physiotherapystudent #physiotherapyjobs #pain #health #lifestyle #fitness #healthylifestyle #staysafe #stayhealthy #staystrong #painmanagement #meditation #mind #mindfulness #physiotherapy_world https://www.instagram.com/p/CLe9jkIBPfK/?igshid=750qphjklsxz

A proper cool down doesn’t mean to stretch and that’s it. A proper cool down means bringing your body back down out of sympathetic fight-or-flight stress mode, which is what exercise creates. While exercise every system is working optimally to provide desired output. So that body won’t be settle down with just streching ! No doubt stretching will help to prevent any injury of Post workout strain or DOMS, but cool down with relaxation techniques, breathing exercise, yes even #meditation , simple normal walking or light movement shadowing the workout is great way to get out your body from the stress of workout. #stayfitwithanand #physiotherapy #physicaltherapy #motivation #health #lifestyle #fitness #fitnessmotivation #healthylifestyle #exercise #gym #bodybuilding #body #instagram #physiotip #physiogram #physiotherapystudent #physiotherapy_world #physiotherapists #physiolife https://www.instagram.com/p/CLZ1i8hhl_P/?igshid=mq3xsu54p58c

When the ancient Greek and Roman physicians were treating the pain we now commonly know as sciatica, they believed it stemmed from "diseases of the hip joint," according to a 2007 study in Spinal Cord. It wasn't until 1764, write the authors, "that leg pain of 'nervous' origin was distinguished from pain of 'arthritic' origin." Sciatica has a surprisingly common negative impact on daily life. "Low back pain and sciatica are the second biggest reason for lost days of work—just behind the common cold. Doing back extension exercises is a great way to tone your lower back and core. These moves will also strengthen the muscles in your butt, hips, and shoulders. This can help improve posture and low back pain so you can do everyday activities with ease. Low back exercises like back extensions should be done slowly and under control. Rapid, jerky movements can lead to injury and pain. Keep your head and neck neutral at all times, and don’t arch your back. If you have back or shoulder problems, or recently had an injury, check with your doctor before doing back extensions. They can suggest the safest way to do these exercises. The radial nerve is a nerve in the human body that supplies the posterior portion of the upper limb. It innervates the medial and lateral heads of the triceps brachii muscle of the arm, as well as all 12 muscles in the posterior osteofascial compartment of the forearm and the associated joints and overlying skin. It originates from the brachial plexus, carrying fibers from the ventral roots of spinal nerves C5, C6, C7, C8 & T1. The radial nerve and its branches provide motor innervation to the dorsal arm muscles (the triceps brachii and the anconeus) and the extrinsic extensors of the wrists and hands; it also provides cutaneous sensory innervation to most of the back of the hand, except for the back of the little finger and adjacent half of the ring finger (which are innervated by the ulnar nerve). The radial nerve divides into a deep branch, which becomes the posterior interosseous nerve, and a superficial branch, which goes on to innervate the dorsum (back) of the hand. A heel spur is a calcium deposit causing a bony protrusion on the underside of the heel bone. On an X-ray, a heel spur can extend forward by as much as a half-inch. Without visible X-ray evidence, the condition is sometimes known as "heel spur syndrome." Many people describe the pain of heel spurs and plantar fasciitis as a knife or pin sticking into the bottom of their feet when they first stand up in the morning -- a pain that later turns into a dull ache. They often complain that the sharp pain returns after they stand up after sitting for a prolonged period of time. The heel pain associated with heel spurs and plantar fasciitis may not respond well to rest. If you walk after a night's sleep, the pain may feel worse as the plantar fascia suddenly elongates, which stretches and pulls on the heel. The pain often decreases the more you walk. But you may feel a recurrence of pain after either prolonged rest or extensive walking. #physiotherapy recommend conservative treatments such as: 👉🏻Stretching exercises 👉🏻Shoe recommendations 👉🏻Taping or strapping to rest stressed muscles and tendons 👉🏻Shoe inserts or orthotic devices 👉🏻Night splints You can prevent heel spurs by wearing well-fitting shoes with shock-absorbent soles, rigid shanks, and supportive heel counters; choosing appropriate shoes for each physical activity; warming up and doing stretching exercises before each activity; and pacing yourself during the activities. Avoid wearing shoes with excessive wear on the heels and soles. If you are overweight, losing weight may also help prevent heel spurs. #stayfitwithanand #physiotherapy #physiogram #physiotherapiststudent #sportsphysiotherapist #myasthaniagravis #physiotherapyindia #physiotherapy_world #physiology #anatomy #physiolife #askyourphysio #physiotip #physiotips #physiotipsforyou #physiotipoftheday #physiostudent #physiotutors #worldphysiotherapyday #heels👠 #heelpain #heelspur #fitness #healthylifestyle #lifestyle #posturecorrection #posture #postureexercises https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ8bpd4hjjf/?igshid=1gkyzpygpd155
