Still chugging along with the storyboard of a scene from The Book Of Lost Things. Been going through some stuff, so my pace is slow, but I really want to finish it. Things will be getting more graphic and intense. I’m trying to frame it so it’s not too over the top violent, but it’s going to be hard to do.

My October got pretty busy there, so I still have a few Inktober days left in me. I also think this project was going to go past Halloween regardless, so here we are! I will keep going until this chapter is over and we are close to the dramatic ending!  **Edit** Adding more panels to this post instead of making several separate ones.

Here are a few more panels for my Inktober-with-a-Twist! I’ll be doing a rough storyboard over the course of the month using a chapter from The Book Of Lost Things. Check back at my page to follow along from the beginning!
*Edit* Adding the next panels here instead of making a new post.

A longer sequence from The Book Of Lost Things. I just thought this nightmarish dialogue should not be broken up into two posts so this will be my inktober for the weekend. I’ll be back on Monday with more! See all the panels on my page and follow along to see what happens next! Things are about to get really scary and violent!

The latest from my Inktober with a twist! The story is from The Book Of Lost Things and I will be doing a rough storyboard of it over the month! *Edit* Added more panels from a different day rather than make a whole new post.

Inktober with a twist! I’ll be posting panels with the intent of having a completed storyboard by Halloween. Follow along to read this spooky chapter from The Book Of Lost Things! I won’t be able to post again until Tuesday due to being abroad at a board game convention! Tune in again then to see what happens next!

The latest panels from my Inktober with a twist! I’m aiming to have a complete storyboard by Halloween. The story is taken from The Book Of Lost Things and I found this chapter particularly spooky. Warning that I will be at a board game convention all weekend and may not be able to post. If that happens then expect much larger posts next week to make up for it!

Latest of my Inktober with a twist where I am doing a rough board a little bit every day! The hardest part has been forcing myself to move on when I’m not happy with the drawings. I need to keep going quickly if I want to finish in time, but it’s so hard to not redo a sketch 100 times.

Inktober with a twist! I will be doing panels every day of a storyboard that will be completed by Halloween. The story is from The Book Of Lost Things which I enjoyed reading this past summer. It’s a pretty dark chapter so don’t get attached to anything and follow along with me! **Edit** Adding more panels to this post rather than making a new post. It goes well with the previous panels in the scene and I wanted to keep them together.

Inktober 2018 with a twist! I’m going to be posting panels every day aiming to have a completed storyboard on Halloween. I’ve chosen a chapter from “The Book Of Lost Things” that I found really scary when I read it. Not all panels will be this detailed, but I got a little carried away on Day 1! Follow along for the complete story! **Edit** Added Day 2 of Inktober on here instead of making a new post. When I do longer scenes I’ll post them separately. **Edit** Added Day 3 - who or what is at the door?

A photo from Popular Science of an astronaut glove holding some vegetables was really inspiring for me! I ended up making a short storyboard with the idea and had a lot of fun in the process. Hope you enjoy my rough storyboard!

Another Next 5 challenge! You take a photo online and then draw the next five panels for storyboard practice. I have a lot of fun with these and am slowly building confidence.

Next Five Challenge! I saw a few people on Twitter do this as a warm up: select a photo online, then board the next 5 panels. The starting photo is: https://www.flickr.com/photos/paulie-b/27288600197/in/explore-2018-05-17/ I think I will try to do these more often for good practice, it can only help.

Here is my new & improved storyboard for the Dysfunctional Dam script from Schoolism. I already see a lot of improvement from my first attempt just a few months ago. I’m really proud of how far I have come and look forward to even more improvement. Critiques welcome!

The overview of my new & improved Dysfunctional Dam storyboard. This is originally an assignment from Schoolism, but I decided to go back and redo everything after some great feedback. I can really see my improvement in only a few months. I like seeing all the panels like this, reminds me of just how much work I did :)

Being having a much busier 2018 than I planned and really got nothing done. I was really beating myself up about it and just perpetuating these terrible feelings, so I decided “make a quick comic about it, accept that this happened, and let’s move on”. This is my attempt to do so. It’s a pretty quick/rough comic, but I wanted to post it because I know many of us struggle trying to meet our own expectations. I think it’s important to realize that we all fall short sometimes and that is ok. Best thing we can do is take a breath, accept it, and move on from here. Wishing everyone out there good times & a great 2018. You can do it!

Dedicated to some of my favorite birds from West Pond: the barred owl, the common loon, and the great blue heron.
The barred owl at the top represents nocturnal animals and sits on top of the full moon. The common loon is between the sun and moon because they can be hear during the day and at night. The great blue heron represents the diurnal animals and is in front of the sun.
I hope you enjoy this design that celebrates some amazing birds and the natural world.
