A rant abt DC fans…

I’ve noticed a lot of people on TikTok criticizing fanfic writers for misrepresenting characters like Damian, Dick, or Jason. They argue that fanfic writers only know the fan-made versions of these characters and not the “real” ones. Some people even say that fanfic writers don’t genuinely like Jason but only like the image they’ve created in their minds. Others argue that fanfic writers paint Jason as a saint who can do no wrong, while fans infantilize him compared to his comic book self, who is portrayed as tough, scary, and a murderer. Like girl…one he’s not real and two are to new here?!! This conversation has been happening for years, especially with comic books and movies. No one is trying to change or write Jason differently fanfic is for FUN! It’s never going to be 100% accurate to the book/movie character, which is the whole point of it being fan fiction…

If they wanna write him leaving his vigilante life, going to therapy and settling down let them! Or if they wanna babygirl-fy😭

We all know that these characters have complex personalities and complicated lives, and they are never entirely innocent. Maybe some people appreciate the character but dislike how the real authors portray them, as they even mischaracterize their own characters. (Dick cheating on Kory with Barbara 😔😒)

But it’s not gonna hurt you, if you think someone isn’t writing a character accurately to the book don’t read it, SIMPLE.

you greeted damian as always by kissing him on the shoulder

“Good morning bubs” you spoke softly, voice still waking up

He gave a grunt of acknowledgement

You just assumed he was tired still from last nights patrol

But no because for the rest of the day all he gave you were grunts and clicks of his tongue like the emotionally constipated man he is

Eventually you had enough so you stole his case files while he was making coffee

That's got to make him talk to you

You put them right next to sparkles on your shared bed

He walked in looking mildly annoyed (he can't be mad at you he knows he wasn't being fair)

“Alright why have you been an asshole all day and you better not say it was just a rough patrol” you questioned

His face was neutral now but his eyes looked remorseful

He huffed and in the smallest voice you've ever heard him use “I wanted you to cuddle me not some silly toy”

You couldn't stop your laugh at that

“Stop laughing its not funny” he said even though you could see his lip quirking up

“Yes this is a very serious offence and must be resolved with cuddle time” you moved the files and jumped on the bed opening you arms for him

He climbed on, put his head on your chest, wrapped his arms around your middle, and sighed. You combed your hands through his hair, and soon enough, he was asleep

You had gone on holiday with the Waynes as damians best friend

Him and his siblings were all playing in the water Whilst you sat on your towel on the sand sifting through piles of rocks for the perfect one

The one to give to damian

The one to show him how much you love him

You picked up a rock that looked pretty but it wasn't smooth enough so you threw it away like all the others

You had begun to give up hope

Then you saw it

It.was.perfect.

Smooth

Round

Rainbow

Absolutely stunning just like him

You carefully picked up the rock and turned the rock over in your hands

The other side was perfect too!

You were so excited to give it to him you didn't even notice them all coming back

"What ya got there" dick asked

You stayed silent completely mesmerised by the rock until someone waved a hand in your face

You weren't sure who it was because when you looked up you saw damian walking over and running his hand through his hair

Time seemed to slow

He sat down on his towel

Which is right next to yours

You shoved the rock into his hands

Still staring at him

Damian gave you a questioning look Before he asked "Why?"

"Because its pretty like you"

He blushed at that

It was adorable it started at his neck and spread up to the tips of his ears

"Awww They're like penguins" one of his siblings said

Thats what got you to blush

And you realised you were doing this in front of his whole family

You were sat listening to music and making loom band bracelets on your bed when you got an alert for a new mission on your watch

You skimmed through the information but stopped when you saw

Your heart did a little skip

You ignored it. you had to if you didn't you would have to confront the feelings that definitely Definitely weren't there

Thats proven he doesn't even have a soulmate

His soulmates spot is just an outline

Poor sweet handsome damian

He deserves a soulmate

Not that you can change the fact he doesn't have one if you cant even figure out how to give yourself one

You jumped off your bed shook your hands out and picked up your suit put it on and jumped out your window

As you were falling your wings unfurled and just before you hit the water you took flight...

You arrived and saw Alfred at the door you said hello to him and went down to the batcave

"Hi damian"

"Hello"

"So what's going on"

"You didn't read the case i sent you"

"Well its kinda hard to read when your flying and trying not to crash"

"Tt"

♡On the mission♡

You were in a dark cramped cave underground it was hot and wet and it smelled like death you couldn't see anything outside the beam of light from the torch damian brought

And because it was cramped you had to squish yourself against him

Which would have been ok if your heart wasn't racing so fast you thought you might faint

"Are you ok your heart rate is abnormally high"

"Its probably just the cave"

"being in a cave should not make it spike this much"

"Im fine promise" you spoke as sweetly as you could hoping he would just move on

Damian huffs and continues forward

You try to calm yourself with breathing techniques and keep walking

It gets easier to see and you find an opening to a much bigger area...
